We had the awesome opportunity to have Keanu G as our server!! I will have to say this is the first time that we've had such attentive service here and he totally was amazing. Always came by to make sure we had enough drink and meats. Of course this is how it should be, but he was so extra!! Casual location. We had adjustments of our seating because we were initially sat in a really cold area (booth by the bar) and they sat us near the food.

Shabuya is one of my favorite Shabushabu places in town. Went there for lunch @ $22.99. Restaurant is big and spacious. They have variety of food at the self service bar like veggies, seafood, noodles, udon, etc. in addition to, you can order unlimited beef and pork. You can order 8 plates of meat on a single order. Food: 5/5 Broth: 4/5 Service: 4/5 There's a reason why they always have long line. It's because the quality of food and affordable prices.

I ate so much Wagyu at Shabuya at Ala Moana Center for lunch on Father's Day that I had to walk it off. The alternative would have been me just falling asleep in my car. Excellent service that was quick to bring out more orders and they took away used dishes right away. The servers were always around to fill a glass of water or to ask if we needed more broth. At $30.99 I would definitely come back.

Came here for lunch as it was a good deal. Server was fast and took drink, broth, and meat orders. Meat came out fast and then waited for the broth. Server came often to check up on us. Lots of self-serve veggies and other options to choose from. A good selection of meat as well. Definitely worth the price for lunch! Highly recommend!

The rating would have been a two but our waiter was great! We had a party of 16 and waited two hour for our table after they had given half of our tables to another family. After complete chaos with straightening out the seating we went to get our food and it was a mess. One side did not have any plates, there was sauces all over the counter and the staff refilling the vegetables were rude. Thankfully our waiter made the rest of our experience better.

Lunch AYCE $22.99 Friday February 27, 2026

Friday February 27, 2026 first time, coming here. Plenty parking. Wait time 5 minutes. AYCE lunch is $22.99. You have 90 minutes from start to finish. Broth 5 to choose from. Appetizers 4 to choose from. Protein 6 to choose from. Not too many different choices to choose from. But, still good. Easier to make your choices. Plenty different vegetables and other things to choose from. Service is fast. Food is good. Ambiance is casual and comfortable inside. We will come back again. When the weather is cold is perfect to come here. To warm you up and to fill you up at the same time.

We signed in at the front and waited for approximately 2 minutes for a table of two to open up. Service is quick, Items are fresh, Beers come out quick, Personal pots for eating. You order the meats to the table, everything else like noodles, vegetables and sauces are all up at the buffet. We were helped by "Anna" today, who was very helpful with us as first timers. All items are fresh and lunch special was great. Wifey got an adult capri sun drink with alcohol, and she raved about it. Will definitely be back.

Generally speaking Shabuyas the easy spot for lunch or dinner AYCE for hot pot at a reasonable rate is hard to find in Oahu. Today however I lost my entire appetite watching the workers discuss who could go home early, and how they were cleaning and spraying chemicals directly above and into the bars. Honestly really gross and I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Adding in that the workers were all standing around and talking and no one literally paid attention to us and forgot our Diet Coke or didn't wipe or clear any of the dirty tables right around us and ignoring multiple other tables, the chemical spraying into the sauces and noodles was just the cherry on top.

I come to Shabuya at least once a week because it never disappoints. The ingredients are always fresh, the meat quality is great, and even though the place is always busy, it's spacious enough that it doesn't feel overwhelming. My favorite parts are the little touches -- the chewy Korean-style corn, the pumpkin, and especially the way you can finish your meal with a bubbling pot of kimchi, glass noodles, and half a pack of ramen. It's absolute comfort food and tastes amazing every single time. The only downside? You definitely leave with the smell of hotpot on your clothes But honestly, it's worth it. Highly recommend if you love shabu shabu and want a satisfying, consistent meal every time!

Good Oahu spot for premium Shabu Shabu. $30.99 per person gets you unlimited portions of everything! There is a solid meat selection, comprised of various beef cuts, as well as some pork and chicken. I personally went with different types of beef and it was great. It's so thin-sliced, that you throw it into your boiling broth and it's ready for you within a minute. You could tell by the taste that the meat was high quality. Most beef cuts were melting in my mouth, especially when dipped in the wild, elaborate sauce combination that I created at the sauce station. To accompany the meat that's being brought to your table, there is a huge self-serve bar that offers a rich variety of veggies and a solid selection of raw seafood with the likes of blue crab, shrimp, baby octopus, mussels and swai fish. I personally loaded up on bok choy -- a huge a fan of its texture and taste once boiled. The sauce station consists of around 8 kinds of dipping sauces, different in taste and its thickness. A few dudes in front of me operated like pros, so I got an advice for some good sauce combinations and it was great! After I fully set myself up at the table with all the veggies, the meats and those dipping sauces, everything else was a breeze. The broths by the way, were outstanding and rich in flavor. My wife went with the original and I tried the spicy miso. Overall, a very good experience. The food was very tasty, the place was modern and clean and the customer service from our waitress was phenomenal. I will definitely take note and will come back here when I'm in Oahu again!

Very fast with the meat, had myself on a time limit smaller than the one set by the restaurant (restaurant gives 1:30, I had maybe an hour) and I still got full til I felt sick Good choice in music, place felt open to have good laughs, while eating good food

This is definitely worth a 4.5/5. We recommend getting on the wait, right here on Yelp before arriving! It'll definitely be busy but once you're in the speed of service is amazing! The vibes range from casual to a little dressy depending on the occasion you're celebrating. The food was so good and you get appetizers included in all you can eat. The portions you get are great and would recommend. The price is good for all that you get and emphasis and what you CAN eat!

Pretty ok hotpot, the waitstaff is not as quite as attentive as you'd find in Japan but the food is essentially identical.

So many of the Korean restaurants in Honolulu have servers who are actually mean to the customers and we now refuse to give them our dining dollars. Does anyone remember the "Angry Korean Auntie" who used to run her restaurant like Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi'? That is the kind of service that we try to avoid now regardless of food quality. However, since I was in the area, my partner and I decided to give it another shot...and now I'm hooked In fact, I went three times last month. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is on another level. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend calling ahead for reservations. My go-to order is always the poke and kalbi, and the third dish depends on whatever my partner is craving that day. Parking can be a little challenging, but I promise it's worth it. Everything we've tried has been absolutely delicious. If I could, I'd eat here once a week! It's currently my partner's and my favorite spot. 10/10, highly recommend!

We are extremely disappointed with our recent experience…read more We've been loyal customers and typically eat here twice a week whenever we're on assignment on the island in the last five years. We have also left two previous positive reviews because we've genuinely enjoyed the food and wanted to support this small business. Earlier this week, we ordered the bulgogi for our kids, but the meat was too chewy and tough making it inedible. Wanting to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, we ordered the bulgogi again the following day and even requested it be cooked well done. Unfortunately, it had the same too chewy and tough texture, and again, could not be eaten. After feeding the kids something else, bathing them, and putting them to bed, I called the restaurant around 10:00 p.m., but they had already closed. I called the next day, and the owner (a lady with glasses) returned my call. Instead of listening to my concerns, she repeatedly interrupted me and spoke in a passive-aggressive, dismissive manner. I was on speakerphone with four other adults in the car, and everyone commented on how unhelpful and condescending the conversation felt. I explained that I wasn't calling simply to complain - I wanted to share feedback because we genuinely care about the restaurant and have supported it for a long time. I even mentioned that I had previously provided constructive feedback about the takeout bowls, which the restaurant later improved. Before I could finish, she cut me off and said, "We're not talking about the to-go bowls right now, are we? We're talking about your bulgogi." She insisted that if I wanted a refund, I needed to return to the restaurant in person, and that if something was wrong in the future, I should come back immediately so they could remake it. Unfortunately, that's simply not realistic for us. We're staying in a hotel with two young children, and the restaurant is about 40 minutes away. By the time we discovered the problem, got the kids settled, and called, making another round trip would have meant roughly 80 minutes of additional driving with tired, hungry children. I understand that mistakes happen, and I wasn't expecting perfection. What disappointed me most was how the concern was handled. This business does not value customer feedback and will never first listen respectfully, even from repeat customers who have consistently supported and recommended them. Sadly, based on this experience with both the food quality and the customer service, we won't be returning.

One thing we noticed right away was that it was pretty warm inside. I'm not sure if the A/C wasn't on yet or if it was having issues, but it's something to keep in mind if you're visiting during the day. We waited about 5 minutes at the front without seeing any staff or receiving a greeting. Eventually, a server rushed in through the door and was clearly scrambling to get everything set up. After another 5 minutes, she finally seated us. She apologized and explained that the person who was supposed to open didn't show up, so she had to cover everything herself. Throughout our visit, several parties who arrived after us also ended up waiting 10 minutes or more to be seated. That was really the only downside of our experience. The server was doing her best under the circumstances, and it seemed like an unfortunate staffing issue rather than the norm. Now for the food--it was excellent! We originally came for the $5.99 naengmyeon special, and it was absolutely worth it. We also shared the spicy pork and the meat jun, and both dishes were surprisingly delicious. Everything was flavorful, and the portions were satisfying. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Despite the rough start, the food made up for it, and I'm hopeful the staffing situation was just a one-off. Hopefully they'll also get the A/C situation sorted out because that would make the dining experience even better.

The premium AYCE option is around $60 per person, which would be reasonable if the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, it doesn't. We're from the Bay Area and have been to countless Korean BBQ restaurants with significantly better meat quality for the same price or less. To make matters worse, even at the highest-priced AYCE tier, fountain drinks aren't included. What really left a bad impression was the automatic 20% gratuity. Our group consisted of two separate parties of three people each. We were seated together at one large table with two grills, but we had separate bills, ordered different AYCE meats option, didn't share food, and made that CLEAR before ordering. The menu states that automatic gratuity applies to parties of five or more, yet we were still charged because we happened to sit together. Had we known this was their policy, we would have chosen another restaurant or sat at different areas of the restaurant. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because our servers were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions about the menu and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Unfortunately, when we brought the gratuity issue to the manager, he insisted we were one large party despite us being separate parties with separate orders and separate checks. At the end of the day, the only difference was that we happened to be sitting at the same table. Overall, the service from the staff was great, but the overpriced food, disappointing meat quality, and questionable gratuity policy make it hard for me to recommend this place.
