You're better off going to happy hour at Fogo De Chao a few hundred feet away for a better burger at the same price point. The fries are decent; very hard to get wrong. Service: standard, order through the app or the kiosk and they call you up. The water is self serve and they come find you with your order if you're dining in. Ambiance: this place gets very busy at peak times so it's hard to find a place to sit inside, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. I stopped by here for a snack. We ordered fries to split and a vanilla and chocolate shake. You can ask the staff to split up one shake into two cups. You also have the option of ordering at a kiosk but we ordered with a cashier since we wanted to customize our order and didn't want to deal with the system for that. One thing we noticed was the shake menu on display above the counter doesn't mention that you can get one shake that's a combination of Vanilla and Chocolate. The fries are always delicious here. Right amount of crispiness and saltiness. The shake is to die for. I hope they bring back the BOGO promotion for shakes this year. There's a bench inside if you want to sit while waiting for your togo order. The staff is helpful when they give you your order and get you additional condiments, napkins, straws, etc. I've never been to Shake Shack and there wasn't a line but the wait wasn't too bad on Sunday around 4pm. I have a friend and the currency of choice between us for favors are burgers. Today my friend chose Shake Shack because he really enjoys this restaurant. My only Shake Shack experience was in NY and it was only once and it was years ago. It was not my favorite and I'm a SoCal In N Out girl, but between friends, we got to compromise sometimes. My feelings for the burger remain true to my initial experience, average tasting and kinda expensive. However, my friend was pretty much in Heaven. We had a great conversation in the wonderful SoCal sunshine. I'm in the company of a good friend. The service was amazing. For all these reasons, Shake Shack gets a 4 star review. We decided to try Shake Shake this past Friday afternoon for lunch for the first time. We both ordered the Shake Burgers - no cheese - one with grilled onions one without . One order of fries Two chocolate shakes - one with whip cream The burgers were tasty - messy like they should be . Small in size, as you can see in the pictures not loaded with lettuce or tomatoes just a thin burger that doesn't really fit the bun. Taste is a 5-5. Would have liked more lettuce only saying as it's not a $5.00 burger. It did have a pickle and a tomato and it has the shake sauce - like thousand island . The fries were great as were the shakes . Can't say we order shakes too often maybe twice a year if that so this was a treat. The place looked clean and the staff was nice but when they bring you your food it would be helpful if they brought you some napkins with your food. The women's bathroom was not clean nor were there any seat covers in the holders. My first rule is : Always check the bathroom before ordering to see how clean or dirty the bathroom is - we'll forgot our rule before ordering . This location located inside of Irvine Spectrum seems like a busy location. When you first walk in, there are 4 order stations/kiosks to the left and a counter to the front with 2 registers. When you order from the kiosks, you enter a card number and when your order is ready, an employee brings your order to you. This is a great feature to have. They have many tables availabe for dining inside as well as outside on both sides of the main entrance. The employees were friendly. You are able to ask for a drink refill which is also great, as other locations that I have been to have a self serve fountain drink area. We ordered: 1. Shack Stack (Cheeseburger with Stuffed Mishroom) 2. Shack Stack with Bacon & Onion 3. Plain Fries 4. Chicken Nuggets As usual, everything was delicious. The Shack Stack is scrumptious and the beef patty had a little char and crisp. The cheese in the portobello mushroom oozes out when you take a bite and all of the goodness just melts in your mouth. The crinkle fries have the perfect crisp and the nuggets as well. They are a little on the salty side for me but I can see why people would like their chicken sandwiches. Tried the truffle mushroom burger. It was nice to see a vegetarian option at Shake Shack but unfortunately this burger I was not a fan of. The mushroom itself was fine and fried okay, but the sheer amount of cheese inside was overwhelming and borderline nauseating. Every bite of the mushroom I took, the cheese ooozed out making it hard to eat the burger at all and the only taste was plastic-y cheese. Came in with a couple of friends on a Sunday morning and it was pretty empty. I've been to Shake Shack before. I got the smoke shack and I wouldn't recommend the pepper sauce at all. The truffle sauce I got with my fries was much more delicious. The size of the burger is pretty small, think smaller than an in-n-out single or about the same size as a MacDonald's cheeseburger. For the price it isn't particularly worth it in my opinion unless there's a deal on. I also got the cherry blossom milk shake, I can't recommend it either. There's a really fake fruit taste to it, kind of like peptol bismol. The seating area inside is nice. And there's outdoor patio seating as well. In all honestly, I really do enjoy shake shack's burgers. It's my favorite "pricier" burger spot lol. This time I tried the new "Black Truffle" burger kind of just on a whim, and it was really good! The food is really good, and so is their custard. With this location in particular, only comment is I did feel slightly rushed by the employee to order, and since it is in the spectrum center it gets very packed. But, the food did come out with a super reasonable time. I thought I'd be waiting a pretty long time because of how many people that were there, but they didn't take too long at all. I love their burgers, but it is pricier than places like In N Out, and everything is separate. You order your burger, drink, sides, etc all separate. I think my burger alone was about $12-13. So I don't come here that often, but yes I do think it tastes very good and it's a higher quality burger. read more

4.5 stars; I only have Shake Shack once in a blue moon and man, our food was good! Stopped by here on the way to LA right around 2pm on a weekday and although restaurant was almost full, we beat the line and lucky enough to snag one of the last open tables. I ordered the Shake Stack and my bf ordered the Double Smoke Shack which came with bacon. I loved mine!! It was a cheeseburger with a fried portobello mushroom stuffed with more cheese!! So much flavor! We also ordered the Spicy Cheese fries and didn't realize til a few bites that it was missing the melty cheese. We waved down the gentleman who took our order and he gave us a sauce container with some fresh hot cheese to pour over. The seasoning had pretty spicy kick surprisingly. My husband and I got free single stack burgers with purchase on our T-Mobile Tuesday app and used our promo codes to order the burgers. I ordered the Shack Stack with a Dragonfruit pomegranate drink. He ordered his with Crinkle Fries. Mine went through without a hitch, while his, well the promo code was used but he didn't get a discount on his order. The app charged him the full price of the meal. He talked to the manager and she was able to give him a refund. 5 stars for service! On to the food, our burgers are the typical smashburger type but mine had a few bits of pink inside. I chose not to eat those parts and set them aside. My drink was sweet and refreshing. His burger and fries had gotten cold during the refund situation. The fries were still good though. This location has plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Tasted just like the ones I had in NYC a few years back. People are always arguing about Shake Shack vs In-n-Out vs Five Guys. This is how I see it. Shake Shack is a great smash burger, I would argue Steak-n-Shake is better for that. In-n-Out is just their own deliciousness, I can't even call it a burger because no one does it like theirs, but get a double double or above, animal style with chopped chilis. Five Guys is just a good burger, you can get that kind of burger from plenty of restaurants and diners so I don't see anything special about it.
