This is one of our favorite local cheap eats and Shakey's never disappoints! They have happy hour specials which are pretty good! Service is pretty good and staff works to keep the place clean especially since there is lots of kids running around in the arcade. There is a small bar where there is a TV and good selection of beer taps... we saw they have their own house brew.. Shakey's Red. I will try that next time! Our favorite item on the happy hour menu is the Pepperoni Pizza twists! These are great! One basket has 4 large pieces and good enough to share. There is also a discount if you respond back to the customer service survey on the receipt. We usually share this with a half order of mojos. This place has Direct TV and does not show the Dodgers. I understand the COVID situation but this is the second time I've been there ,pre-Covid and not too long ago cashiers and manager are RUDE as fuck and I don't think they like their job the minute me and my family arrived to eat in ,it's like you're not even acknowledged as a customer.you actually have to stand there till they decide they want to take your order .as a business owner if I have a manager and cashiers acting like that with my customers they wouldn't have a job ,FYI won't be back I'd rather drive a bit and go to the Downey establishment worth the drive. read more

Very, very slow came to eat in waited almost 45 minutes just for one medium pizza, 4 pieces of chicken and mojos. I went to go check on my order, and they just said it takes longer to make. I waited at least 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence . I just watched them walk around and look around, not proactive at all. Only one person was cutting pizza, and they took their sweet ass time trying to make it look perfect. And there was a lady in a blue shirt just looking around didnt seem like she was doing much besides going up to the register, i would assume she would be a supervisor or manager but not proactive at all like the rest of the employees. Besides the 2 pizza guys making the actual pizza, i saw them work really quickly. Great teamwork just for 2 men. Next time, I'll just order to go. I don't appreciate the cold shoulder and unpleasant service after I initially voiced out my complaint about an issue months ago. I thought that was closed in the books and I could enjoyably continue to visit with my family. It feels almost as if every employee recognizes my face and among each-other were told to treat me w/ some sort of "special" treatment (Sarcasm) whenever I visit. Worst customer service ever!!!!! Corporate needs to see who they have as manager. I usually don't yelp bad reviews because I work in a restaurant. But this I need to write. 1. Their ticket machine was broken(both of them) so an employee got a manager. When the manager came over she said this one works. I felt insulted, obviously I tried it before I called her over. 2. After my kids cashed in their tickets we went back to our table to find it cleared they threw away my sons food and kids cup all while my keys were on the table so we're clearly still there. I was talking to an employee and the manager watched from a distance. The employee was like we'll do you want more mojos. So now I need to go somewhere else to feed my kids. This place is far from my home but I love coming. The buffet is good they keep the pizza coming and it's nice and warm and soft. I salad bar is also good and they give a variety of items to pick. The workers are nice and good at giving you a clean plate. They also have very nice restroom, nice and clean with soap to wash your hands. I can tell they come often to check on the cleanliness of the restroom. I know some costumers can be pigs and leave a mess which is sad and unfair for the workers. They keep a clean restroom despite it all. Love this this and the tv's to see the games, that's a plus, plus they can change the channel, if you ask. read more

Pretty terrible experience. Pizza was good. Chicken was a bit dry. Either way we ate and enjoyed it. Now for the gaming area. Oh lord!!!! We have 2 kids so we decided to get them each a roll of tokens, so $10 each ($20 total). There are about 15 gaming machines (it's definitely not Chuck E Cheese so okay). Right away about 3 didn't work, like they said to call an attendant. Then 3 or 4 of them didn't dispense tickets (so they worked but you wouldn't get your tickets). Like ZERO of them. Manager helped out, but of course I had to go out of my way to go get him, wait for him, and then wait for every single machine to get attended to. Oh and ready for the best part?? The ticket counters didn't work!!! ALL THREE OF THEM WERE BROKEN. So I literally manually counted about 1,000 tickets you can bet by this time we were sooo through with this place. So we asked for our money back for the left over tokens since we couldn't use them considering that machines were broken left and right. And the manager refused to at least refund us the rest of the tokens we had. BAD BAD BAD read more

Brought my mom and kids here for lunch the girl that took our order was very friendly. I went to ask for jalapeños and they said they would be restocking the salad bar soon, waited 20 minutes and nothing. My mom went to ask for some and the girl told her she couldn't have any because they needed them for the pizzas. I went over about 5 minutes later and asked for some I said I'd even pay for them and the girl Samantha walked to the kitchen and then back and said "yea we don't have any" a minute later the older later restocked the salad bar with jalapeños and let me know there was some. I went over to Samantha and ask why she said they didn't have any she tried to tell me they just got delivered. First she told my mom she couldn't have any because they needed them for the pizza and now they just got delivered with no delivery truck in sight. This location is ABSOLUTELY FILTHY and the customer service is horrible!!! Had to clean our own table when we arrived and the bus boy employee was standing there the whole time with his cart and NEVER offered to help. Just watched as we cleaned the table and then walked away. Once we got our food I asked the employee if I could have condiments and he replied "sure there in the front" when I proceed to the front it was a mess. Ranch, barbecue and buffalo sauce all over the counter. When I was pouring my sauces I spilled some and I asked an employee for a napkin and she asked me what I needed it for and I replied with I spilled some barbecue and I wanted to clean it up and she said oh don't worry about it I got it. When I went back to grab seconds of sauces, THE WHOLE COUNTER WAS STILL A MESS. As we continued eating all the tables around us were still dirty. We are never coming back to this location ever again. This review is for my overall experience tonight. Typically when I've come to this location Its a 3 star experience (food & service) and to be honest I've had a one star experience (where an employee accused me of lying about not having received my chicken order) anywho back to tonight... The food was great, but even more impressive tonight was the service I received. I'm a little disappointed I didnt catch the employees name but I want to assume it was a manager on shift as she had a grey button up vs standard red t-shirt. But back to my experience. After placing my dine in order I was unsuccessful in finding a table so I requested to have my order to go, the employee then asked if I had trouble finding a table, I answered yes as it was a busy night as per usual. She told me no worries, I can find you a table. And she did just that! Wow! She could have easily taken my number and boxed it to go, but instead she found me a table and even after that nice gesture she came by a bit later to ask us how everything was going. To me that was great customer service especially for the prior experiences I've had. I now look forward to being back! Hopefully that type of service continues! read more

Can you really go wrong with Shakey's. We came here to have some beer and some pizza. It's a big location and they have a play are for the kids. The staff is very friendly and always walking around picking up tables and making sure you do not need anything. It's a great location for families to have dinner and if you think you are going to miss the game think again. There are TV's around the seating area that are playing the live game and if the game you are looking for is not on you can ask and they will see what they can do. Pizza - thin crust pizza that is cooked perfectly with just the right amount of cheese. We had 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 pepperoni and jalapeño. I enjoy their think crust more then the pan or thicker crust pizza. Pizza is derived hot to your table and can't forget the crushed pepper and the cheese on the table. Mojos - Who does not like potatoes. Their mojo I think is what make shaker's famous. Everyone loves their mojo. Nicely battered and hot and dip them in a side of ketchup or ranch. Amazing! Chicken - friend chicken is amazing as well. I do have to say some of it si greasy but you didn't come here to be healthy. There chicken is fried to a golden brown and has great flavor you just can't eat once piece. If you are around the area and with the family it's a great place for lunch or dinner. This review is for the salad buffet! The pizza, chicken, and mojos were good as usual. I asked for one salad bar plate. The lettuce for the Cesar salad had started turning brown so I decided to make myself a garden salad, the cucumber was transparent looking , as if it had been frozen and then thawed out. It was very obvious the food in the salad bar was not fresh, a few items were completely out. I added ranch dressing to my salad and went to sit down. I had not taken my first bite when I could smell the salad dressing. it smelled bad. I asked my family if it was just me or if it smelled bad, Everyone agreed it had a weird smell. I told the girl who gave us our pizza there was something wrong with the salad. The manager and the waitress were very polite and gave me a refund with out a hassle. I appreciate it that. The Bunch of Buffet at this location is better than other locations. During this holiday season, they are asking for a $1.00 donation for charity. What they don' t tell you is that they will give you a $1.00 off coupon on your next visit. It's a win-win situation. The real shocker was when we were leaving. The manager was off to the side having his lunch break. As we were walking by, he stopped his meal and thanked us for coming in. More managers should learn from his example. Another week, another shakeys. I don't think I had been to a shakeys in over two years and now here I am frequenting a second Shakeys in the past two weeks. The buffet is just so convenient and relatively inexpensive. It's $7.29 per person. It's located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking. And they have a pretty large seating area. Also there's a smaller area in the back with arcade and video games for the kids. Anyways no tray this time and they hand you only one plate. And the first thing you see again is the hot foods. The salad bar is off to the side. They had a lot more varieties of pizza than the other location I visited - at least 5 types. Including a dessert one with marshmallows, oreos, chocolate, crumble, and frosting. Then there was spaghetti noodles with your choice of marinara with or without meat. And then your usual gathering of Spanish rice, veggies, and mashed potatoes. And of course, you gotto have the chicken - both fried and grilled and the mojo potatoes. Anyone know why they're called mojo potatoes? I don't know how they do it but their chicken is delicious. The pizza was pretty good too. They offered a couple that had a lot of meat - pepperoni and meatballs and sausage and chicken. And I was glad to have some old fashioned spaghetti. But I think I might prefer the cheesy mac and cheese that they will occasionally offer. I tried and liked the dessert pizza too. The crust wasn't too thick so there was a nice balance of the bread and sweet toppings. Oh and then you can either bring your plate back to the buffet for round two or trade it in with the cashier for a clean plate. read more

Lettuce, croutons, dressing that's it! No one makes salads like that. Now you have to order them with all that other crap on it. What happened to getting your OWN damn pizza when they call your number? Now somone brings it to your table. The pizza is still amazingly good but come ON. It's PICO!! No one needs all this glitz. It's not like the customers have changed. It's still the families with millions of kids running around everywhere like little savages. Maybe I'm just annoyed because they had a fundraiser event tonight and there were 10x the amount of screaming children.
