Alright, alright another pizza spot, or is it? Nope this is more than just a regular pizza franchise this is pizza, mojo's, fried chicken, and a bomb buffet spot. My kids love the food here and so does my wife. They also have a game room and space available for large groups and birthday parties. I always get the Shakey's special on my pizza and extra chicken and mojo's because a large order is never enough. The chicken offers a excellent crunchy and a not too salty seasoning which accompanies the pizza and beer beautifully. I really enjoy the options here for their buffet and even though other places have more quantity on their buffets this place has more quality. Service is good but they basically only take your money and give you good food and they leave out the waiters because the food is all you need. read more

Shakey's Pizza... how did I end up here again? The pizza tastes like a cardboard box with cheese on top, luckily they provide bottles of Tapatio to spice up the cardboard. The only reason I have this establishment 3 stars is not for the food, but surprisingly the rating given is for the service. Last weekend my sister had a Birthday lunch for my nephew at this location. My family normally does not go to his location because we prefer the one in whittier off Washington Blvd . The customer service there is much more friendly and welcoming. Well as we were eating I had pizza and a salad, when a worker or manager passed my our table the woman tells me "just so you know salad bar is extra "! In a very rude manner, I proceeded and said " ok"? She's say "well I am just letting you know "! So my next response was "well my mom bought me his salad so thanks"! I was very upset because she had insinuated that I was stealing the salad! It was very rude and upsetting considering I had just spent $60 to sit and eat there with my family. And just because she didn't see me physically purchase the "salad bar" didn't give her the right to accuse me like that. Even on a busy day with the whole restaurant full, you kept up with your customer service! Which brings me to my last visit. When we walked in one Friday evening around 6pm, all the tables has reserved signs on the tables. My thing is, if you're going to have the entire restaurant booked on a Friday, please at least put a couple of signs on the front door advising the public that there is nowhere to sit! I just came here for a party, first off we had to wait 20 minutes to set up our own party. All we were given was a few minutes more. We also had very slow service and were gouged left and right by extra drinks. Why is it they have pitchers of beer but not soda. For groups parties their should be a certain amount of soda given. Yesterday (12/20) I had their bunch of lunch buffet. It was busier than my previous visit but the flow of food was never compromised. They had a variety of thin crust pizza to chose from; hawaiian, supreme, cheese, mushroom and the classic pepperoni, all of which were warm and crisp. I love mojo's, I had two giant serving and that's only because I could not consume anymore. The bunch of lunch includes a salad bar for a healthy balanced meal but I go for the pizza, mojos and fried chicken. Other things available as part of the bunch of lunch include steamed veggies, mash potatoes, spaghetti and more. I really enjoy this Shakey's but I only drop by when I am around the area. read more

I hated shakey's buffets for years (like 20 years!) but we came here and had the buffet (Never been to this shakey's before) and by golly, the buffet was REALLY good and you can request special pizzas to be put in the buffet! Great service and great food. From the time I walked into the pizza parlor I was greeted with a smile. I asked the young lady behind the counter (sorry forgot her name) what kinds of specials they had. She was more than happy to tell me about the specials and tell me about the different pizzas they had. Took our seat and in no time our food came out with a smile and hot pizza and mojos. We had a blast inside. The kids loved the game room. That young lady that was working in the game room was smiling and having fun making sure her guest were having fun. I'm really disappointed with the visit my family had today at shakeys in pico. We had a good time up until we prepared to leave. The main manager was kind enough to extend our time an extra hour so we could accommodate a member who had an accident. We did stay a bit longer but had more family order more food. As workers began to clean our area we asked if we could stay or if we had to move. That is where the problem began,another manager named odette I believe had the worst response saying that we signed a contract for a certain amount of time. First of all you don't come off so nasty when it was a politely asked question. Customer service has gone down and it's situations like this that make me lose faith in chains... it's problems like this that can easily be avoided by a bit of kindness. I was willing to surpass the comment and move to another table but after this woman continued with dirty looks and speaking about us to other employees loud enough for other customers to hear, that's the final straw! Between 11-2, Shakey's offer a buffet lunch that features menu items that I normally go for in a buffet (pizza, pasta, salad, chicken, fruit, and dessert) and for a much lower price than a regular buffet. Great customer service from Marko!!! I have never been to Shakey's and received such service from an individual. He was so attentive to our needs. We sat at a table under the vent and I was cold so he came by and switched the vents location for us. He was constantly passing by asking if we needed anything. He was very accommodating and EVERYONE seemed to know him as I saw many local customers saying goodbye to him as they were leaving or waving at him. You can tell that Marko is an individual who enjoys what he does and is a people person. I've been visiting this location for over 25 years and I have never encountered the service like I did last night. Thank you for employing people like Marko. Its been about 2 mths since ive eaten here and let me tell you..its freaken delicious. The mojos were fresh,the crisp crunchy chicken was golden brown and the pizza was absolutely good. I love this unhealthy food but it was so good. Well, my family and I have been to other shakey's and have had a pretty good experience and good time. Today wasn't good at all. Being it is Saturday, I was expecting it to be a little packed but not so because it was about 4 in the afternoon. The cover of the book read better than the story inside. I was ordering the food and drink when at once the cashier just turned around and left to the side without saying a word. When she came back, all she had to say was" do you want anything else?" I was like "is everything okay?" any she shrugged her shoulders and gave me my total. I paid and walk away. Thinking back I was used to getting a number for my table which she didn't give me I walked back towards the counter. I ran into the manager and asked her if I was supposed to get a number? She replied, You didn't get a number, why not? Your asking me? why I didn't get a number? With a rude tone of voice, she started conversing in Spanish to her employees. I said so what do you want me to do? Oh, it's okay we will take it to you, she said. Do you even know where I am sitting I exclaimed? No, where? At that time I was about to get the Klan and split. Today a simple order of pizza, chicken and mojos was made into a very unpleasant experience due to poor management at the Pico Rivera Shakeys. We placed the phone order. When we arrived the order was incorrect. I informed them that the order was not correct, a manager was called over who did not take any responsibility and merely pointed at the receipt and said no your order is correct look right here. What the hell? Why is Scott Torres (if that's his real name)even a manager with that type of reaction. Absolutely no managerial skills at all. His response was even more outrageous, he said in order to replace the incorrect order with the correct order, I would have to pay for incorrect order in full, then pay additional charges to correct Shakeys mistake?? Needless to say I was not going to lose anymore money so I paid the full $65 and came home only to write this review. He was very smug, rude and unprofessional. I would give no stars if I could the customer service there sucks! I booked my daughters birthday party here we were a party of 50! I arrive about 15 mins early asked the manager if I can set up since no one was sitting in our reserved tables, she said your party starts at 4 you know that right? I said yes I know but no one is occupying my tables she basically gave an attitude and said fine. As I'm trying to enjoy my daughters party they're bugging me you only got 30 minutes left ok, I know that leave me alone, I'm trying to cut my daughters cake!
