We ordered the ring online and brought it into the store to be resized. So impressed with the customer service! Pete was friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure to let us know about the services provided to take care of the ring. I know it's a busy time of year and covid restrictions on top of that and it was supposed to take a couple of days to be resized. We called in later to just check the progress and Tanner personally checked and helped us get our ring back sooner. I attempted to buy my fiancé's wedding band at Shane Co. But after my experience at the Walnut Creek location, I will be taking my business elsewhere. After making a long drive to visit the location once, I set up a second appointment to view two rings that weren't in stock. The staff told the rings were being transferred to the store for me to view. When I arrived for my next appointment, I was really disappointed to find out they had no record of a transfer request for one of the rings, and the other ring had already been sold in the store before I had a chance to see it. After two unsuccessful trips, I tried to make the most of my time at the store and decided to base my decision off similar styles that were available for me to view. I made the decision to purchase a wedding band and was really excited to get it engraved and mailed to me. When the ring arrived in the mail, I opened the box and realized they had engraved and sent me the wrong ring! Customer service told me I had to make the trip to the store for a third time to drop off the ring they had sent me. I just returned the ring in store and the customer service staff didn't acknowledge or apologize for the mix up. So I'm not wasting anymore time on trying to give Shane Co my business. read more

I made the mistake of going to jewlery store the Saturday right before Mothers day to look for a ring for my wife. I have never been to Shane Co. and hearing all the ads for what a fantastic no pressure family run business it was suppose to be I thought great let me give them a try. I walked in and was met by the receptionist who asked if I wanted to be put on the wait list to speak with a sales person. No real shock there, since I already thought it might be a bit busy. She put me on the 25 minute wait list but offered to let browse the store as I waited. About 12-15 mins in a sales person asked if they could help, pleasantly surprised I said sure, I went onto explain what I was looking for. I told him my wife's ring size, and he indicated that there may be an extra charge to size it up, which I thought was strange, because I could swear they advertised they did not charge for that type of service in there ads, but I said okay, and wanted to explore the options. He went to the back to grab some inventory, "he claimed", and came out several minutes later with another sales person who he explained that would take over because he was the "expert" in the metal I was looking for Platinum. The real issue, was there a customer complaining to management about how his sales person just walked away to attend to another customer right in the middle of the conversation and my original sales person was pulled off of me to attend to the issue. My conversation began again, and the new assigned sales person went to the back to grab some options he thought I might like. We started talking about it, and as I was reviewing the rings, another customer walked up to the far side of the counter and my sales person walked over to him and started to have a conversation with him on his needs. My sales person then walked off with this other customer and left me standing at the counter, with no explanation no request to help this other customer nothing just left. Who does that?? After waiting a few minutes I grabbed the display of rings, and handed it to another sales person , telling them I was leaving the inventory under there care , because my sales person just walked out on me. As I walked out of the store , I stopped for a moment and made the comment to the receptionist the service was horrible, when she asked why I told her my sales person just walked off right in the middle of showing me product, she said can i get you another salesperson? I walked off and said hell no!!!! I called the acting store manager to let her know, and after all the B.S about how Shane was not that type of company, she forgot to even bother to ask who was my sales person? that tells you how much they really care!! no worries I went to Davidson and Licht , who sold me on not only there quality but service for much more then I was I was intending to , imagine that , what a little respect and courtesy gets. read more

I went to the Shane Company in Walnut Creek yesterday which let's face it, is always a fun trip. Happy they were open to customers with this Covid thing going on. First let me say, they are taking Covid seriously. Signs on the door about mask, then they take your temp and a greater signs you in. They have several seating stations set up for you to wait your turn into the actual showroom. Only a few groups allowed in the showroom at a time and there are signs on the floor to keep those groups separated. Lots of gloves and hand sanitizer inside. Luckily we were assigned to Allie(not sure of the spelling) who we had on our last purchase. She is fun and friendly and seems to be as excited as you are about your purchase. Gave her my rings right away since that is what went in for. Then told her I was also looking to change center stone to something bigger. She mentioned right away she was not sure what could be done because of the way my ring was made so she took in the back to get checked out. While that was happening she brought out some stones. I loved the fact that she brought out some fair priced beautiful stones and let us look at them and didn't go for some of the most expensive. She offered to go up or down in price or quality as we wanted and explained the differences in them. We ended up keeping the original ring as it was and bought a new ring with a new stone, our choice to do this not being pushed into it as it turned out we could have just changed the stone. I had even brought a ring that we had bought about about 30 years ago from the Shane Co and they gave us a credit for it higher than the original price, win win! Shane Co is the best and it would have been a great experience with anyone but was the best experience with Allie, she is so patient, friendly, kind and helpful. read more

I used to be the biggest supporter of Shane co until today. My wife brought her wedding ring into the Walnut Creek store to be cleaned. They told her one of her diamonds was loose but no worries they could fix it. So we left it with them and came back a few days later to pick it up. Upon leaving the store my wife kept looking at the ring and felt like it wasn't the correct one. We brought it right back and turns out they gave us the wrong ring! Mistakes happen so they went to give us our ring and turns out they lost it! The manager Jackie told us they are looking for it but they have no idea where it could be. They replaced it with a new one but it's not the same for my wife. This was the ring I put on her finger our wedding day that has sentimental value! I asked if we could be compensated with something more to make up the hard feeling. My wife lost one of her Diamond studs and I asked if that could be replaced. I figured since they lost something that meant the world to us maybe they could help fix it by replacing something else lost. They said the most they could do is offer 10% off..... they tried to make it sound like a deal with 50% off if I turn in My other stud earring plus the 10% off but I already knew I'd get the 50% credit for turning it in. I felt like they truly didn't care about trying to make this better and said oh well here is a new ring, so who cares about the sentimental value. My husband and I had purchased our weddings bands from this location a few months ago, and each time we came in we had a very good experience with the associates that assisted us. My husband had purchased my engagement ring from the diamond ring company in San Jose. We now live closer to Walnut Creek and we loved the service we received from Shane Co previously, so we decided to come back when I needed to have one of the diamonds replaced on my engagement ring. This review is solely on my experience with Cynthia on 9/23/17. I told her what we came in for and she let us know the cost of replacing the diamond. She needed to inspect the center diamond before sending it to be worked on. These were her exact words "is this even a carat?" Wow... how insulting is that? And yes my ring is more than a carat if you're wondering. She was very rude in answering the questions I did have, kind of like she expected me to know what the answers already were. She was having trouble with her tablet and another more kind associate helped her out I think she knew Cynthia was not easy to work with. Cynthia also almost put my ring into another customer's envelope. If I didn't say anything someone else might have ended up with my ring. I was considering to go through Shane Co to upgrade my center diamond next year... but after this experience I'm feeling devalued as a customer. read more

The only place I will ever but my diamonds from! I've been a Shane Co customer since 2006 when I lived in Brentwood, TN. Then my next major Shane Co experience was in Duluth, Ga where I currently live. Out here in California on business, we stopped into the store in Walnut Creek just to get my diamonds cleaned and checked and the customer service was just as superb as all the others! I love them! I own a right hand cocktail ring from them and twice a small diamond fell out. They replaced it free of charge. It's the policy! My husband is considering upgrading my center diamond in my engagement ring... Shane Co will credit us what we paid or the market value IF the market value is HIGHER... But we will never receive less than what we paid for the diamond on the trade in. I feel very secure when I shop there and know that we're getting high quality for fair price and great customer service. read more

I came in on a weekday evening interested in researching engagement rings. The man who "greeted" me seemed confused that I was there, and I almost questioned whether or not I was allowed to be in the store. Once I told him what I was there for, he made me try on the ring sizer because he didn't believe me when I said my ring size. He then handed me off to a female coworker "because a woman would probably be better for this stuff", and neither were engaging or welcoming throughout the 15 minutes I ended up staying. They didn't offer any education on diamond cuts or styles, and I truly felt like I was a burden on them for asking for help. I've been to several jewelry stores since, and every other person has been more than willing to educate and have fun during my appointments or walk-ins. This was a poor first impression for engagement ring shopping, and I will not be having my partner come here to shop. read more

I went to the Shane Co on the recommendation of a good friend. I wanted to get some ideas for engagement rings and brought my mom and sister along with me. We walked into the store and it took about five minutes for one of the many sales people to even acknowledge us. We started out working with a young man who pulled a few rings out of the case. He set the rings down and walked away. Another woman (who mentioned she had years of experience) came over to take over the appointment. She was friendly, however, as soon as another customer came in, she too disappeared. No one was paying us any attention or even seemed remotely interested in helping us. My fiancé bought my engagement ring here in February 2021 because of great reviews from friends and family. But I have to say that our experience since he bought the ring has been less than stellar. They consistently cannot meet deadlines but do not contact you beforehand to let you know that they are running behind. Each time we come in to pick up the ring after resizing/alterations we have had to wait an extra hour or so even after we gave them extra time past the due time. I recently had them add a halo to my engagement ring that did not come out well. It was excessively tall and mounted lopsided. I just had them remove the halo and when we went to pick it up, two hours past the time it was due, we were told that yes they removed the halo but did not remount the solitaire. Could they have contacted us beforehand so we didn't waste our time? No. We will no longer be using this location after our numerous bad experiences. read more

I recently just proposed to my girlfriend this last Tuesday and she absolutely loves the ring!! Shane Co. definitely lived up to their mission statement. My Story: In February, I started doing my homework regarding the 4 C's before I went to Shane Co. I thought I knew everything I needed to know about engagement rings, little did I know there was more to it. As soon as I stepped into Shane Co. one of the assistant manager, Yezeg kindly asked me what I was looking for. Afterwards, he asked me what was my price range so that we can narrow my selections down. He went through step by step on the Cut, Clarity, Carat and Color. He pulled out a couple of diamonds as an example to better explain each characteristics. Yezeg really took his time with me and he was very patient. I looked at ROUND BRILLIANT and HALO Settings. I found the perfect setting, but didn't find the Perfect Diamond that fit my budget. So, Yezeg kindly told me to come back in a couple of weeks, so that he can pull some selections from other Shane Co. It took me 4 visit to finally choose the PERFECT ring and I live all the way in San Jose, which is about an hour drive each way. I liked his service so much that I was willing to drive back and forth. I finally picked up the FINAL PRODUCT 2 weeks before I proposed and the ring turned out PERFECT!!! No regrets at all!!!! I know it's very cliche, but I truly believe that "You DO have a friend in the diamond business"!!!!!!! I would highly recommend going to Shane Co. and I would also recommend working with Yezeg. I liked his service so much that I got two of my friends to go see him for their "ER" !!! Worth the DRIVE! read more

There is a lengthy story for why I loath this store and the employees that work here but I'll try to keep it short and only list three incidences... 1. Ended up having the ring custom made cause the previous one, purchased at this store, was not holding the diamonds in place so they kept falling out. When the custom ring was picked up, the representative gave back the warranty paper work for the Old ring... 2. After calling and making Sure that selling an item of there's to a friend would Not void the warranty and it Could be transferred into another name, was told once I arrived that 'I'm sorry, we can't do that.' 3. I had a ring set cleaned, resized, and separated. The representative that helped me seemed nice. Her name was Samantha L. I wanted the ring set mailed back to me and she assured me that it would NOT be left on my door step and the package would require a signature. There would be special instructions attached to this package (my wedding set) saying so. 5 days later there was a FedEx box sitting at my front door! My Wedding Set! My wedding ring was just left on my front porch for the taking! And I have had my mail stolen before, Thank Goodness it was still there when I got home. I will Never. Ever. Tom is my friend! I got my ring upgraded here for my 10 year anniversary. The staff was incredibly nice and patient with my many questions and my indecision. I'm sorry I don't remember her name but she was able to get a diamond from the back (similar to mine) and set it in different settings so we could see what the ring would look like. They even 'plotted' my center stone since they were keeping it for the new setting. I was amazed they had the ring ready the next day! So here is my experience with Shane Co.. Long story short, I was planning on asking my lady to marry me in a few months. Of course everyone has heard the radio ads for Shane Co, and I even have a few co workers that have bought rings and other items from Shane and have been very happy. So, I was going to be in Walnut Creek for a few other stores and decided to head to Shane to price and possibly start a purchase of a ring. I was not dressed in super nice clothes, just basic clothes for running errands. I walked into Shane to see what appeared to be an average store. Nothing crazy, pretty standard. This was around 11AM or so. There were a few other customers being helped by sales people. I walked around looking at the cases and jewelry. As I was walking around, I looked up to see a sales person look me up and down, then make eye contact, then turn around and talk with another salesperson. No acknowledge of me being there. On the other side of the store, another free salesperson did the same. No hello, no "Can I help you?". Nothing. Thought that was a little weird. So I kept looking around. I made it to the engagement rings and looked in the case. The selection seemed average, as most stores looked. I looked though the case, being in the store for at least 5-10 minutes now. I thought I made it obvious I was there to at least look at some items. The first salesperson that looked at me, started walking towards, then I made eye contact and said hello. He turned around then walked away, not saying a word. Weird. So, being in the store about 10 minutes, I have received no contact from anyone in the store. So I walked out. I understand the place works on no commission. I also know I wasn't wearing super nice clothes and looked like I had a ton of money (even though my budget was over 10k). I felt like I was judged by pretty much every available salesperson as I walked in and nobody wanted to talk to me.Nobody made a single effort to talk to me or help me. I recently heard that Shane Co had reopened by-appointment and curbside services. I had found a blue sapphire ring on-line and I called for an in-store appointment. Call and don't try getting an in-store appointment on-line because it didn't work. Anyhow, the lady on the phone said the Walnut Creek store had the ring I was interested in and would put the ring on-hold. When my friend and I arrived, we were greeted by a young man who took our temperature and asked us to use hand sanitizers. We waited 10 minutes and Evan Price escorted us to the sapphire displays. He bought the ring that was on-hold and I loved it. Beautiful color, great design and classy. I was able to trade-up to the sapphire ring with a ring I purchased last December.. It was simple to do. No hassle. I'm going back next week to pick up the beautiful dark blue sapphire with diamonds ring that is being sized down. I highly recommend buying at Shane Co. They are careful about cleaning the surfaces, checking temperatures & using sanitizers and they carry superb jewelry. read more

I am really satisfied with the service The Shane Co. has given me. Today I dealt with Kathryn Torix and was very pleased. Like their slogan...'Our Promise To You: We guarantee your jewelry, FOR LIFE FOR FREE' We bought an engagement set in 2007. I absolutely LOVE my set and would never trade it in. In 2010 one of the side smaller diamonds fell out and Shane Co. replaced it no questions asked! Impressive! Now, I always bring my rings in to be examined and cleaned the recommended 6-month intervals. I had another small diamond fall out again in early 2011! Again in the beginning of May 2011, OH SO FRUSTRATING! So now I went in again and had it replaced no questions asked! So at this point I've had 3 diamonds fall out total. I went in the other day and just wanted to replace the whole set. Take out my 1+ carat diamond and set it into a totally NEW set! I mean how many more diamonds are gunna fall out before they tell me no?? I thought they would laugh in my face at that request! Kathryn wrote up the ticket and all with in 10-15 minutes I was all set. She brought me a water and mentioned sorry for the inconvenience and all that, I know its not HER fault but she was very caring. A brand new set, engraved and sized for me! This process will take about 4 days because they didn't have a replacement set there, they had to have one from another city brought in. Fine by me! All of this work from any other jewelry store would have cost me in some way or another! I Stick with the best! After spending 2 hours with me and helping me ,Nataline helped me with every concern and answered every question, I finally found the perfect ring! We both were so excited! I came in a couple weeks ago on a slow weekday and I left so frustrated and sad that I didn't want to write a review and I NEVER write reviews I just use yelp to get advice, but I couldn't stop thinking about how horrible my time at Shane Co. was and I urge you not to shop at this store. I have been in a couple times before to look but my last visit was the first time I thought I was really going to leave with my wedding band. I was mistaken. Not only was the sales associate beyond snotty, pushy and rude to me, he acted as if he was selling the worst car in the lot when I wouldn't push my budget to 2k for a band. I believe his name was Jordan and he did not hesitate to let me know that he was the manager (so what?) and that if I "settled" for a band less than 1800 that I would regret it and basically my friends wouldn't be impressed. I felt like crying. And of course then when I started getting upset he pawned me off to another associate who (poor thing) was trying her best to make up for what he just said. It was too late though. I tried to look around more thinking my mood would change and I would want to buy again but as I walked around I could hear him talking bad about me to his coworkers!! At that point I just walked out. How dare he. Ms Alex Guzman, this woman knows the value of customer service! My wedding set had been stolen, my husband contacted Shane with the idea of surprising me with a duplicate replacement. Unfortunately, that wasn't able to happen, through no fault of Shane. We purchased a replacement and it was when we went to pick it up that the errors began. Ms Alex was my star, she was patient, apologetic and so understanding as they tried to get the mounting correct.
