We went here just to look at styles of wedding bands, and ended up walking away with 2. We had bad experiences everywhere else we went, so we really weren't expecting much. We were greeted right away, and were asked what we were looking for. The first person we talked to didn't seem too interested in talking to us, and we were ready to walk out until James started talking to us. I know most sales people don't really care about you personally, but he sure acted like he did, and I really appreciated that. This is regarding my negative experience last month in June. I have had several excellent experiences working with Kevin, Derya, and Silvia as they have provided world class customer service to me and my fiancé. Both my sister and I have our engagement rings purchased from Shane Co. We came in today for cleanings. An associate named Clarisse helped my sister and took her ring to the back to be cleaned. Christian was the associate I worked with today. Clarisse gave a ring to my sister and walked away. My sister put the ring on and realized the band is too small and it is not her ring. My sister realized they had mistakenly given her the wrong ring. Our rings look similar, but they are not the same ring obviously. My sister got my ring from Christian and put it on and knew that was her ring. My sister told Christian that they made a mistake and mixed up the rings. She was upset and Christian responded hostile and loudly saying, "I don't make mistakes." At that time I was uncomfortable and upset that he was out of line to my sister and should have asked for assistance from another associate, but I did not because I just wanted to get out of there. The only good part of his service was that he showed me the certificate number before we left my ring for service. Christian's customer service was unacceptable and subpar. I actually cannot believe he works at Shane Co where I have had several excellent experiences from professional and kind associates. Christian was unprofessional. He did not address the issue that the rings were mistakenly switched and given to the wrong customers, he brushed my sister's concern under the rug, he did not admit a mistake was actually made, and his response to her saying, "I don't make mistakes" was awful. He was hostile and basically belittled my sister. There were many associates and customers who saw this terrible customer service. I cannot believe we received such terrible customer service today. I am shocked because I have told many friends and family how unbelievable Shane Co's customer service is from my previous experiences with Derya, Kevin, and Silvia. I will avoid interacting with him in the future when I come into Shane Co. They definitely need to show the serial number before and after each customer checks their ring in for cleanings and any other service on their jewelry. After this experience, I called and spoke to Teresa, the operations manager, and also emailed her the specifics regarding this subpar experience. She was very nice and apologized for the experience we received and said she would cover this with their staff to ensure this never happens to any customer in the future. read more

Hello everyone who reads this. I have been engaged for over a year now and was in the process of looking for my wedding band. My Fiance said we should stop and look at Kay Jewelers while we were at Newpark Mall in Fremont. We stopped in just to take a look and this lady was ready to start having us fill out information to open a Kay's Credit Card, and to make a quick sale. She said that every wedding band looked great just to make us buy it and didn't care if it looked good or not with my engagement ring. To make a long story short, my Fiance asked for her card and name just in case we came back because I was getting overwhelmed... She replied back, "I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE YOU MY CARD, I WANT TO SELL YOU A RING!" I almost started crying because I cant believe anyone would say that, especially over something that is so personal and about our wedding bands... I decided to give up looking and had a horrible first experience! I will never go or shop from Kay's just because of that comment. My Fiance told me that we should go to Shane Co. We always hear them advertised on the radio and decided to give it a try. I have to say, from the moment we walked in there I had a good feeling about this place. We were greeted by a man named Paul and asked how we were doing today and to look around and let us know if we needed any help. He asked us what we were looking for and told him i was here to find a wedding band that would match my ring that was from a different place. He took us over to the rings and started picking out bands that would compliment my engagement ring after asking me what type of band i was looking for. He offered my Fiance and I bottled water while he went to go get some different bands for me to try. We were in there for a long time but he never once gave the impression that we were taking to long to decide or that he was only interested in making a sale, like that lady at Kay Jewelers. I felt comfortable with him and trusted his judgment about what looked good and what didn't. I really felt like he cared about his job and he cared about making our experience one to remember no matter how small or big the sale was. I am very pleased and happy to have gone there and will be going back in the future for other jewelry purchases. I hope he knows how great full my Fiance and I are for his help and for his kindness. Been a customer of this place since their Concord days. I have bought a number of items from the store; rings, chains, pendants, earrings, stones, etc. and haven't had any issues with them. I like that you are able to trade in your Shane Co. jewelry for something else. That's a big plus as I have done that a few times. You hear on commercials that they are not on commission but I find it odd that the sales people change. Though my experience with any of the staff I have come across has been good. Never felt pressured to buy something or having a salesperson trying to upsell me something. They'll be seeing me again at some point, upgrading or buying something new. read more

I ordered a ring for my girlfriend on Shane Co website. It took a week and a half before it arrived at our doorstep. They told me there was weather issue, and delivery dates kept delaying. After having a not so awesome experience at Zales, my fiancé and I decided to try Shane Co after multiple people recommended them to us. My friend Leslie also came along because let's be real, I needed another woman's opinion. One of the sales rep, Cynthia, greeted us as soon as we entered the door. I told her what I was looking for and she walked us over to a glass case. So far the experience was pretty much what I expected- friendly and attentive. Cynthia asked me what kind of style I liked and began to pull out rings she thought I would like. She must have pulled out 10+ rings out of the case so I could get a better look and was so patient with us. She truly made us feel relaxed and comfortable to ask any questions that we had. Once we singled out a band, she began to bring us different diamonds that were in our budget. She also let us look at them through a loupe so we could really see the diamond and any inclusions that it may have had. I ended up choosing a beautiful princess cut on a split shank band and I can honestly say I am in love with my ring. I went in there today hoping that I could get my wedding bands worked on by adding gold annd making it a larger size. I also brought in my diamond earrings ,which I bought there, to get cleaned. In 2010 for our 25th wedding anniversary, my husband gave me a gorgeous ring with 10 small diamonds around the sides and a 2.2 carat, very high quality center diamond. Following the Shane Co. recommendation, I made the hour-long drive out to Walnut Creek, CA approximately every 6 months to get the ring cleaned and inspected. About 2 weeks ago I glanced down at my hand and was horrified to see that the entire setting of the center diamond had fallen off the ring. I had been out and about that day, and the diamond was certainly lost. Looking at the paperwork I received when we purchased the ring, I realized that it was covered by a lifetime warranty that Shane provides if the jewelry gets regular maintenance at s Shane Co. store. I called the store and spoke to the manager, Teresa, and days later I was sitting with diamond consultant Allison looking at 2 stones of similar quality to the one I lost and actually bigger at 2.25 carats. I chose one of them, and although it had a retail price that was significantly higher than what we paid in 2010, it was reset on my ring at absolutely no cost to me. I was made whole and then some! After this experience I would never even consider buying precious stone jewelry from any other dealer besides Shane Co. I love this place. We first came in 2007 for our engagement ring after I heard one of their radio ads where they said the staff are *never* paid on commission. I liked that because it meant we'd get the same service as everyone else despite being on a tight budget. Our experience was fantastic, and the staff took lots of time helping us find exactly what we were looking for while staying in our budget. As we've gone in for our six-month "clean and check" visits, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Always first rate. Today, when we went in to get a new setting for the engagement stone, I learned that it gets even better. They have a trade-in policy where if your new piece costs at least 2x what you paid for the old piece, you can trade in the old piece for 100% of what you paid. They want you to keep coming back, and do exactly what it takes to make that happen. I'm totally sold. I'm a customer for life. read more

We came to Shane Co. because Sunday is the only day that my boyfriend and I have off together and they are one of the few jewelry stores that is open on a Sunday! Oh and they had pretty great reviews here on Yelp. Ronda was extremely patient and let my boyfriend and I try on at least 15 different ring settings. No pressure shopping and she was very attentive even though the store was packed and she was attending to two other couples. We found a few settings we both really liked, and at prices 30-40% lower than similar settings at other retailers! Love this place! We are newly engaged and just went into Shane Co to get my engagement ring. The turn around time for sizing is about a week and the jewelers are on-site, which means that your merchanise does not get shipped in the mail somewhere to their 'people'. When we ended up picking the engagement ring up, we purchased our wedding bands too. We were able to put them on layway (which who has those now a days) to accomodate making smaller payments instead of one large sum. You probably end up paying just a little bit more, but the quality and what you get for your money is well worth it. The warrenty alone is amazing! By buying merchanise there, you receive a life-time warrenty and replace of anything if anything happened down the road. Their upgrade program is great...you would receive the same amount you purchase as cash in towards the upgraded ring. My Mom's 80th birthday is June 19th. The whole family is vacationing together the week of June 9th to 16th. I was trying to think of something extra special to get Moom to mark her momentous birthday. My mom is all about her family. She has a heart so full of love for us that I wanted something that would be a tribute to her. On Monday June 3 I decided to stop in Shane to see if it would be possible to get her a pendant with the birthstones of all the kids, grankids, in-laws and great grandkids in it and have it ready by the time I left on Sunday. Omar greeted me with a friendly smile and asked if he could help me. I told him what I wnated and would it be possible have it ready by Sunday. I told him I was thinking about a heart. At first he couldn't find a heart pendant and showed me two other beautiful possiblities. However, he knew I really wanted a heart and so he searched his computer and hit upon the Mother and Child heart. Their store didn't have it but he said he could order it and get it in on Wednesday. I told him I had to talk with my sisters to see if they were agreeable to investing in the pendant with me and I could let him know the next day. I put a deposit on the pendant to get it shipped and was told that if I couldn't buy the pendant I would receieve a refund for the deposit. Tuesday evening I went back and met with Omar to begin ordering the pendant. He spent a great deal of time with me picking out the stones and selecting the position of where each stone would sit in the pendant. He even told me he would make sure the pendant would be ready by Saturday. On Saturday he called to tell me that somehow the paperwork of the stone arrangement got misplaced so could I tell him the order. Since I didn't have that written down I asked if I could come back to the store to see the stones and make the final selection. I also asked if the necklace would still be ready for me that day. He told me absoulutely and he would make sure that when I got do the store I would not have to wait. Omar was ready and waiting for me. He had the pendant and the stones ready and was able to put the stones in the pendant so I could actually see how they would look. This was so great as I did not have that opportunity on Tuesday since the pendant as not there. Omar spent more time with me and apologized for the mix up. He also told me how excited he was to work on this project with me for my mother. When I asked if the necklace would be ready by the end of the day he said it would be done in a couple hours or less. I can not express to you adequetaly in writing how much Omar did for me. He took his time to make sure I had exactly what I wanted. He made me feel special and made realize that what I was doing for my mother was very special too, The one other thing I'd like to let you know is that Shane stands by its 100% exchange policy. I had a pendant I did not wear anymore that was purchased at Shane a few years ago by my ex. They gave me the full purchase price toward the pendant for mom. Who else does that? Wow! Shane Co. will be the last jewelry store I shop at. No matter which location I go to, they never cease to amaze me. Jacquam Blue was amazing and truly went above and beyond in helping me surprise my wife for the perfect Christmas! I was able to phone ahead and scheme up a plan to convince my wife to leave her ring overnight for polishing. This gave them time to switch out the diamond after we had picked one out. To help with picking one out, Mr. Blue smoothly got my wife interested in diamonds and got her to talk about what was most important to her (cut, clarity, carat, cost LOL). This review is way overdue. I have an addiction to jewelry and I love Shane Co! I upgraded my engagement ring a few times and liked it but never loved it. One day I was in shopping and I mentioned to Allyson Pesce about the fact that I did not LOVE my ring. She informed me that they could modify existing rings and make the ring of the dreams. She listened so well to me and used her amazing creativity, it took 6 months, multiple emails but they did in fact do just that. I absolutely love my ring. Allyson and the management staff at Shane Co. took great care of me and they always go above and beyond. I feel like royalty when I go in to the store, their customer service is beyond. Their service has gone downhill since I was in less than a year ago. I have been trying to find an accent ring to celebrate a significant birthday and both times I have been in, I am showed a few things and then the salesperson walks away to never return. They never say "I'll be right back" or anything to let you know that they're actually coming back. I often am in the store in my work clothes, I am a landscaper and don't have on my "Sunday finest" . I really feel like I'm being snubbed due to my appearance (although it's not like I'm covered in mud with straw sticking out of my hair in a complete mess. I have on hiking boots and work clothes) and that there is an assumption made based on my appearance. If this is not the case, then they still have customer service issues. Lack of communication and lack of attention. I will not be buying a ring here this year. I hope they understand this and fix this problem. This long term customer has noticed at least in this store that they are not what they used to be. I submitted a complaint the first time it happened as it was a significant snub by the salesperson. I did see the manager that called me to follow up about my complaint and she apologized and said the issue had been addressed. When I carried the tray with the two rings I had been being shown back to the service deck to give them to her because I couldn't find any available salesperson let alone the one that had been helping me, she seemed surprised when I told her "I don't know where your sales people are - the man helping me left when you came to me to give me my rings and never came back". She did offer to set up a time where she could give me her undivided attention. That is a nice offer and may work for some but it does not work for me and it is no excuse for their lousy customer service. I believe that if you are a Shane Co. customer and buy jewelry from them they will take excellent care of you and your needs. I have friends who have been pampered and treated above and beyond at Shane Co and have had no issues with lost, stolen, or damaged jewelry. This review is based on my experience here. Be aware, if you come in with a piece of jewelry not from Shane Co. that you need resized or fixed, they will send you out the door making you wonder why you came in the first place. I went in to look for wedding bands and get my engagement ring resized. It was not from Shane Co. but we have heard great things about this location and trusted they would handle our situation no problem. After examining the ring and speaking with their on-site jeweler, we were told that resizing it would cost $200 and they cannot guarantee the integrity of the ring will last because they believe the platinum band could be hollow and working on it would make the entire ring collapse. The sales person promptly asked about the return policy on my ring and finding one from Shane Co. we could buy instead. She continued with cheesy lines about "the love is what matters not the ring" and "it's not too loose on you is it? Hopefully it won't slip off". This was not only insulting but very disappointing and not at all what we expected from this company. We went to another jeweler and they flawlessly resized my ring within a day for under $100. read more

Update! After posting this review I was notified almost immediately by the manager of the Shane Company in Walnut Creek, Jess Williams. I made an appointment to go into the store and when I arrived, he made everything right and then some. He did not try to make excuses or to up-sell me to a more expensive ring. He made the experience as painless and as smooth as possible. He was the consummate professional and I only wish that I had interacted with him from the beginning. He went the extra mile to ensure my satisfaction but I also got the sense that this is his normal operating procedure. For example, my friend had a ring that she bought from another jeweler that was missing a small diamond and he overheard the conversation and offered to replace it and tighten the other prongs to save her a trip. Jess Williams has been the manager of the store for approximately three months, which explains why my previous experiences there were so bad. He brings a new and higher level of customer service to the store and I highly recommend the Shane Co. to anyone looking for a great experience. read more

My now husband, is a very detailed man and when he walked into Shane Co. to buy my ring he was a little concerned about how the process was going to go.
