Nicole and her team are doing all they can to fix my husbands ring and we are really hoping this time it does the trick and the rhodium stays. My husband and I went here shortly after our 10 year anniversary to have our wedding rings/ diamonds checked and cleaned. I spotted an anniversary band that I really loved and we were ready to buy except it was in white gold and I wanted yellow to match my existing set. The salesperson took our name and number and said they would find the same ring in yellow gold for us. Well, we never heard from him again! My husband called a week later and they told us they didn't have the ring and couldn't get one. We even contacted the Shane CO. website and never got a response! You would think that they would've offered an alternative or have cared to make a sell. We bought our wedding rings here and never had a problem, but now I will not return. read more

I came to purchase a setting for an heirloom stone. My wife had a setting in mind, and we decided to go with it. When we came back to retrieve it, we realized that it was not resized to wife's size, so we had to wait additional 30-40 minutes. And once we returned home, we could find several scars on the body and the prongs; not one but FOUR!! We went back immediately and had it refunded. At first, they tried to get it done with by offering $100 store credit (for mess up on a $1,700 ring). I couldn't really understand why Shane would hire such an incompetent goldsmith. I would never come back, and I suggest you the same especially if you are dealing with an important stone. read more

This jewelry store is really fantastic and they have some really unique settings for rings and beautiful diamonds. Jesse went above and beyond to help me when the former band that I chose for my upgraded ring just wasn't working. He was able to pinpoint why and was able to artistically determine which types of rings would not only give my stone a beautifully, unique look, but would also secure my stone. He is patient and kind and I would recommend him! He also has an artistically trained eye! I would also recommend Rhonda as she was the one who helped me design the halo part of my ring that really made my diamond pop. I went into Shane company for a 6 month checkup & because there was a blemish on my wedding ring. The attendant couldn't see it & asked me to talk directly with the jeweler, Ryan, and he was amazing. He was so patient & tried everything he could to fix it. I am ultimately extremely happy with the fix he did & so thankful he was patient with me when others at the company weren't as much. I was searching for my fiance's wedding band and I seriously went EVERYWHERE!! from local to out of state...I couldn't find the perfect band...(he was specific with what he wanted, white gold with diamonds, polished, not brushed..he wanted the bling!) so after looking around, I heard the Shane Co. commercial on the radio and found one in Walnut Creek. I came to check it out thinking the prices were going to be like everywhere else if not more...but to my surprize...they were actually much cheaper because they included the "insurance" with the ring...(like if the ring starts to change color or if the diamonds fell out, they will fix it.) the other places charged an extra $50-$199 depending on the ring. In any case, a gentleman Paul Fessa helped me find the ring I fell in love with. There was a problem because the mens rings start at a size 9. (this is at every jewelry place) so i had to make a decision to special order it or not. I told Paul I had to think about it because it would be a big decision. He didn't pressure me and was very sincere about the whole situation and made me feel better about waiting to make a purchase until I was ready because the ring was "for life." after 24 hours, I really decided that ring was the one. I came back next week and purchased the ring!! Paul was absolutely wonderful with his customer services as well as humorous. I highly recommend anyone looking to buy jewelry especially diamonds to go to Shane Company. And if you are at the Walnut Creek location, Paul Fessa is a wonderful person to have help you. But I was actually blown away by it and ended up getting my engagement ring here. The service was really good and I didn't feel pressured at all to purchase on the spot. I went in with my boyfriend to look at engagement rings and of course we needed to stop by Shane Co. I went in with only browsing the online selection quite briefly but had 1 ring in mind. I don't know much about diamonds, I just wanted it to sparkle and be big. My boyfriend knew less about the process and the diamond specifications. Kevin helped us and was very genuine and informative. He took my boyfriend aside to secretly talk about prices and the process while I looked and knew he was in good hands. I didn't expect to spend 2.5 hours in the store with Kevin. Time flew by and I was learning so much about which diamond was perfect for me. I may have gone back and changed my mind twice about which diamond I wanted but Kevin was understanding and never gave me grief about changing my mind. Update: After speaking with the company's VP of sales, they assure me they had the ring tested and that it was in fact 14K and that there was a problem with the stamping of this particular batch. They claim only 3 rings were made in this batch with the wrong stamp, and I just happened to receive 2 of those 3. While I still do not personally believe this to be true, given that the ring looked wrong from the first time I saw it, the company swears this to be true. To rectify the situation, they gave me the ring as a gift as a measure to regain my faith in their company. While I personally will not be shopping at Shane Co again in the future, hopefully this really was just a one time honest mistake. read more

Our salesperson Sarah D. was wonderful and very accommodating during the process and was able to allow me to set everything up right then on the fly! I came here with my fiance looking for an engagement ring and the wedding bands. At that point I had already been looking for a while and I was very frustrated and irritated and not looking forward to this shopping experience. If you haven't shopped for these rings yet you might not understand- this is supposed to be fun, right ? But at the other stores (Kay, Zales, Fred Meyer, Helzberg,...) the sales reps smothered me, questioned me to find out how my money we have, ignored price limits, offered shady discounts and tried to sell expensive warranty plans,... I needed space and time. Shane Co. gave me that. They really don't pressure you. They offer all the help you want and all the time and space you need. They don't breathe down your neck while you think about all of the options. They also offer you water and/or tea or coffee and their bathroom is clean - you will need that since ring shopping will take time. They don't have any sales or discounts so you won't be pressured to buy something right away just because some offer is only valid for a limited time. Overall their prices are not low. You might be able to find comparable items elsewhere for less but at least Shane Co has a great warranty included in every piece of jewelry you purchase. You just have to come in twice a year to have your jewelry cleaned and checked for any issues. Then if anything is wrong they will fix it in house (they have a workshop right there and don't have to send off your precious jewelry). They will even replace any stones you may have lost and they will re-size the rings as often as needed. You also get an appraisal for everything you buy in case you need that for your insurance. And they keep the appraisal on file in case you lose it. They have a good mix of male and female sales reps and they are dressed tastefully. More importantly, their sales people are very friendly and knowledgeable. They listen well and pay attention to figure out what it is that you are looking for. After this purchase I have been back to purchase other jewelry items and those were good experiences as well. From now on I don't think I will buy jewelry elsewhere. The only thing I don't like is that you can't really do any browsing on your own because the prices and material are not shown in the display. You have to ask for the details of every item you might consider and I am not always in the mood for that. However, I understand that it would be a lot of work to place little tags with the price and material in front of every item. However, you can check out their website to get an idea of their price range and then go to the store. read more

I love this place. I used to buy my jewelry at Zales, mostly because it was closer, but I decided to try this place and have now purchased my last 2 jewelry items here. At Zales, they would have 2, sometimes 3, employees working. Many times I would have to sit and wait for someone to help me. At Shane Co, they always have a room full of employees ready to help you as soon as you walk in. I have never had to wait to speak with an employee at this location. The prices here are around the same price as what Zales offers, but Shane Co also includes free lifetime warranty while Zales charges extra for it. It's also comforting knowing that Shane Co does all their sizing and repairs in the store. Zales has to ship it somewhere else, which not only takes longer but also puts your jewelry at risk of being lost or damaged. Overall, the experiences here have been great. The employees are extremely patient, even when I took over 30 minutes looking at various rings before deciding on one. There was only one bad thing about this place, but it wasn't too much of an issue. The boxes that they give you when you buy a ring have a ribbon attached that the cashier normally ties in a bow to make it look nice. They have a cashier who I could tell is new because he kept asking for help from the other employees. When I picked up my ring, this cashier just stuffed the ribbon inside of the ring box, making it look sloppy. He didn't even attempt to make it into a bow. I ended up taking the ribbon out and tying a bow myself when I got home. I'm not sure if he was being lazy or he didn't know how to tie it, but he should have asked for help because what he did was not appropriate. I'm just hoping this happened only because he was new and in the future he'll learn how to properly tie the bow. read more

I am writing this review because I was not impressed at all by my experience at Shane Co. When we walked in the door (We being my fiance (were married now), myself and my mother in law), we didn't even get so much as a "Hi" or a "Welcome." At the time there was only 2 or 3 other people in the store with plenty of sales people available. After walking around for 10 or 15 mins looking though the displays, there was still not person asking to help us! Finally after asking for help, they finally opened up a case and let us look at some rings. After trying on a couple of rings I had decided that I was going to keep looking but I wanted to take a picture of the ring there so I would have something to remember it by when comparing to the other rings that I was looking at! So, I pulled out my camera and started to take a picture of the ring and the design number so that we could find in on the Shane Co Website! After getting chewed out for taking the picture, she asked me to delete it which further turned me off! On top of all of that, she was very rude and judgmental! I know that I am younger than most people who are getting married (I am only 20), but that gives them no right to judge me or to not take me seriously! We were serious customers looking for a ring, and they lost business based on assumptions! Jewelry stores should be supportive of love no matter what the age!!!! They may have some pretty rings, but they are not "a friend" like their commercials claim them to be! read more

Yet another wonderful experience at the Shane Co. The gentleman who helped us, Marco, was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. After an uncomfortable experience ring shopping near our home in Southern California in which a commission-based sales woman did everything but physically force us to buy one of her rings, it was especially nice to be back at the pressure-less environment of Shane Co. Marco patiently stayed with us as I waffled and wavered and eventually decided on the perfect wedding ring for me. He also allowed us to bring in, and was very welcoming to, our two small dogs which was nice because we were stopping in on our trip home and it was too hot to leave them in the car. I've been wanting to write a review for a while but we decided to give Walnut Creek Shane Co one last chance. We went to Shane Co because my family got their rings there. I don't know if it's because we are young or what but we have never got good service. Some times we would get greeted but then the associates would walk away from us. We left and we went Shane Co in Roseville. Unbelievably great service. We bought our engagement ring there! They gave us the option to have our ring mailed to Walnut Creek because it was closer to home. Well we would have been better off driving back to Roseville. We would get calls from random numbers but no messages we had to go there to find out the ring had been there for a few weeks. After the proposal and before the wedding we went to get the ring cleaned. They girls never updated our file that we went in for cleanings then our information was not in the system... How?? When we went to get the matching wedding band we were told it could not be sized to my size and we would have to pick a different ring... How? So if we bought the set it could have been sized but because we were doing it separate we couldn't? We bought a similar band elsewhere. So last week we went to drop it off so it could be buffed and polished. We went to walnut creek to give them one last chance. First our associate was nice. The greeter on the floor however was rude. (Light skinned girl with dark short hair, I didn't get her name) kept pooling our girl that was helping us away. All I wanted to do was drop off the rings but we were there 30 mins it wasn't busy there were associates who weren't busy. I told the lady helping us that this would probably be our last time to this location due to lack of respect we received from employees over the last 2 years. The greeter then asked her to have us hold on so our associate could go help another customer. She then got stuck showing rings as ours were sitting in the folder. We just needed to drop the rings off! After 15 mins she then came back and our information was no where to be found in the system and once again we wished we had just drove out of our way to Roseville. We were never called that our rings were ready for pick up. From now on we will go to Roseville where we get great service and have associates who are willing to go out of their way to help us. The same girl today on the floor did not greet us not smile as if she remembered us from the prior week. I could not believe how my family walked in separate and got greeted right away and helped in such a decent time and we couldn't even get a smile from the greeter on the floor. Today my boyfriend and I went to Shane Co. looking for an engagement ring. I went in having an idea of what I wanted but part of me was indecisive. When we walked in it was extremely busy so we were worried that we weren't going to get the intimate experience we were looking for. We were greeted by a man named Reggie and he showed us the section we were looking for. I had so many questions and wanted to see so many different rings and not one time did Reggie seem to get frustrated or like he was rushing me to make a decision. Reggie answered every question I had in depth and made it clear he wanted me to have the ring that was best for me. Not one time did he try to up sell me or try to push me into getting something else. He made this experience so wonderful and exciting for my boyfriend and I. We've been going to Shane Co in Walnut Creek for a long time. The customer service has always been great. I do want to acknowledge the two people that have most recently helped me. Chloe, who I spoke with over the phone, was so helpful in having a purchased mailed when I could not get them in time. Michael today was really nice and courteous when I brought back earrings to redo that I purchased for my grand daughter and had shortened and ended up being too short. I had a not so good experience when i took my ring to Shane to have it updated.After I explained what I wanted to the the very young sales person.SHE went in the back,returned 10 mins later.This step repeated about 6 times! I was looking at round diamonds to replace my pear diamond.Simple right?same size just differnt shape Finally offered me $ 600 for a diamond worth 1600 as per the paperwork.I thanked her and left.I wont ever go there again.I thought this was a good company.I guess not. read more

First off, I would like to say that I rarely take the initiative to inquire about leaving feedback for businesses. Regardless of the potential raffle/sweepstakes, etc. that I could win for responding. I have submitted just one Yelp review in my entire life. Nevertheless, after my recent experience with the employees at Shane Co. Walnut Creek, I not only felt obligated to share my experience, but was excited for the opportunity to do so. With that said, I recently purchased an engagement ring and found every element of the experience to be informative, exciting, and comforting. Non-commision sales is a contributing factor, but more importantly are the people that stand behind the counter. I had the pleasure of working with both Katie and Will and must say their professionalism, knowledge, and passion for what they do was unmistakable. Katie gave me an introduction to diamonds and what to look for (as I had never shopped for a diamond before). She explained how to compare, how Shane Co. conducts business, and never once attempted to "sell" me on anything. Her goal simply felt as if to give me the tools to make a decision that I would be satisfied with for the rest of my life. This support continued even after leaving the first day to continue my research. I came up with a few questions, emailed Katie, and had responses within 24 hours! The following week after choosing a diamond and having it transferred into the store, I met with Will. While our overall interaction was short, his support, professionalism, and genuine approach to the process was not unnoticed. He took the time to ensure I was getting exactly what I expected and answered all of my questions without rushing me to complete the transaction. This day's experience only got better when in the middle of an interaction with another couple, Katie took the time to check in with me and share her excitement for the ring that I had chosen. (In my experience, it is moments like this that make transactions like selling jewelry into a journey of ownership). Shortly after working with Will I was ready to make my purchase. I was taken to customer service where I was fortunate to work with Jessica and Nataline. Due to some confusion/miscommunication between all of us regarding layaway and financing, we had a few transactions to modify/complete. During this process they were extremely forgiving (even though it was not their fault) and extremely accommodating. They made sure that everything was completed in a timely and professional manner. The ring I chose was ready exactly when I was told it would be and the quality of work was perfect. I now know the next steps for owning a ring with the Shane Co. and could not feel more comfortable knowing that I will have the Shane Co. Walnut Creek to support my fiancee and I for the rest of our jewelry wearing lives. Once again, I am not one for surveys, I only consider writing them when I am truly blown away (and even then I almost never fill them out). However, the above experience warranted the most praise I could offer. I would like to thank the above named people for everything they have done, as well as anyone else in the background that helped make this experience such a remarkable one. My fiancee and I are looking forward to our next trip in the store so she can meet the people that helped make the engagement ring of her dreams a reality. The staff was extremely unprepared. They "couldn't find" our order every time we called. They told us it would be available for pick up on a Tuesday. By Friday we hadn't heard from them, so my husband called and they doubted that he even ordered or paid for anything. Then they found it after they checked a couple more times. We went in to pick it up and they "couldn't find" it again. They eventually found it but it was ordered in the wrong size and they wanted to charge us for soldering the rings together after they told us that was a free service. The worker gave me dirty looks when I wanted to see the order together even though we already paid for it. We've dealt with other Shane Co.'s before and not had any issues. This specific location has horrible customer service. read more

I was looking for an anniversary diamond ring for my wife and checked several jewelers in the area including Heller in San Ramon, Davidson & Licht, Shane Co, King's in Walnut Creek and several others. None of the jewelers had the size and quality of the stone I was looking right at the store, and Davidson & Licht wants to charge you to bring stones in, to look at. After checking prices and settings Shane Co. was a winner. The setting style is very important for my wife, and Shane Co clearly has the best selection. Moreover, after getting the center stone, they were able to combine two different designs to satisfy my wife and my visions of the ring. Mainly, I want to thank Jamie (store manager in WC) who was willing to work with us on multiple designs, and after the individual mold was created, we got the exact ring we imagined. It was a rather lengthy process, but considering all steps involved it was worth it. Shane Co delivered ring as promised before Feb 14th. It comes with the lifetime warranty which is a nice plus. So, I think we do "have a friend in the diamond business". Shane Co. gets my highest recommendations! read more

i have had my 2 sets of earrings from shane for the past 8 years, and i wear them almost every day. i finally made the trip over to walnut creek to have them straighten out the posts .. they were busy so we were there for almost an hour after i gave the man my earrings. when he gave them back he had cleaned them which was nice.. i put them right in my ears and left. on the way home i took them out to examine. the posts were just as crooked as before! wtf what a waste read more

My (now) husband and I bought our engagement and wedding rings at Shane Co in Tukwila, WA. We had shopped around at about 10 stores before finding Shane Co. We had had awful experiences of high pressure sales and had received no information about the rings and diamonds. At Shane Co we had wonderful service from the moment we walked through the door. We received a short education on diamonds, and even learned how to rate them. We decided to buy a smaller, higher rated diamond - it looks bigger than the dull full carat diamonds at the other jewelry stores, and we got a better price. Also, we didn't have a big budget for the band - but Shane had a HUGE selection, and I was able to find a gorgeous, unique band that was affordable. Free engraving and cleaning too. Since moving to the Walnut Creek area, I take my jewelry in for cleanings and inspections every couple months. They always clean ALL my jewelry for free, even the items not purchased there. We always receive prompt and zero pressure service. I noticed my white gold was getting a little yellow, so they "re-dipped" all my rings for free, and they look flawless! I can go on and on - but the bottomline is, Shane Co is my favorite jewelry store, and my husband and I will be lifelong customers! Though I do wish the locations were a little more glamorous - I'm more concerned with the quality or service and product then the location. read more

Really happy with the Engagement Ring that I got, but I was thrilled by the service I received! Not only did I get the best diamond, but I got some great help from Paul! Make sure you ask for him at the Walnut Creek location. I walked in just to shop the selection of diamonds and rings and continue my search, but Paul took the time to help walk me through the process and made sure to keep it fun and low pressure! ahhh just received my "package" the wife was very happy. wanted a bigger diamond but i guess that's my fault, lol! the service was a true pleasure, the staff were willing to go the extra mile to serve me...
