So I ordered from this place as they were running a special through Uber One. Buy one get one free for Spicy Chive and pork Dumplings. I work in SF so I wanted to try something different than I usually get as I live in Oakland. The food was ok, but there were 2 deficiencies IMHO. The wrapper for the dumplings was too thick, causing the meat to wrapper ratio to be off. Also they were not at all spicy. I might give this place another try, but I would have to get something different. I thought the food was a good value with the deal they provided. I can't say how much I love this place, though I almost exclusively go for take-out now. It's been a very convenient stop on the way home. I call in my order, walk in, pay, and get home before my food is even cold. My go-to involved: Dumplings - I've gotten a lot of different ones and they're always spot-on. My only small disappointment is that the pan friend buns (生煎包) have a thick bao bun and isn't juicy. I'm used to the ones with a thicker dumpling wrapper and is almost like a xiao long bao soup inside. Spicy Tendons - I can order these for days. Plus, the collagen is good for your skin! Or something Shanghai thick noodles - Simple and delicious Shanghai rice cakes - Saucy and delicious I see their whole menu and it seems like they cater a bit to the white taste...which given their location on Monterey in Sunnyside...valid. Although I was initially skeptical due to the lack of patrons, my opinion was quickly changed when the food started coming out. I was really excited to try this place since the reviews looked good, but unfortunately this was about the most mediocre Chinese food I've had in a while. The part that really made me sad is that I love beef tendon and their spicy tendon was so soft that it felt old. I couldn't eat it. The thing that got them two stars is that the spicy sauce for the dumplings was really good. The Mongolian beef was ok too. Amazing food, soup dumplings are much bigger than any restaurant I've been to. The crab and pork have such a tender and sweet flavor to them, and not to mention the chewy and soft dumpling skin!
