Ok, so almost 2 years after my last review I finally went back to Shish Grill to give it a third chance. Unfortunately, the verdict remains the same. First, the positives. They are all very friendly at Shish Gril and the place is clean, albeit small. The online ordering system worked like a charm and the food was ready as soon as I arrived. The garlic fries were covered in garlic, which is a good thing in my book. And that's it for the positives. I won't ding them for the sort of tepid/soggy food, because I chose takeout and that's something that happens often with takeout. The side sauce that came with my falafel was not like any tahini I've had before. It either had egg whites or mayonnaise in it (I hate anything mayo-like). The falafel balls were not light and crispy, as they should be, and they were more lemon-y than I like. They are in a wrap, rather than than a pocket-pita. To me, there is a difference between pita (as they advertise) and lavash, which is the flat bread that they seem to use, and I was hoping for an actual pita. Finally, as was the case with my prior review, I really like my falafel sandwich to have lots of pickled vegetables and a spicy kick. Shish Grill's version is more lemony and salad-y. Again, maybe this is a cultural difference between Lebanese cooking and Israeli cooking, but the falafel sandwich here is not what I was craving. It's not bad, by any stretch, just not my type of falafel. read more

Came out here for a wedding and Shish Grill is behind the hotel we stayed at. Walked in starving! Didn't have too many expectations. Really nice fella took our order - combo shish kabob plate and the lavash wrap. I've never seen my partner do the happy dance her entire meal. I almost got jealous w/ all the morning. And that lavash wrap slapped me around a few times. I annihilated the whole thing in a matter of minutes. The intense garlic sauce blew my mind inside out. I went to rehearsal w/ the most amazing breath and it was worth every star. It would take me an hour from the house to get here but I'd definitely make that drive. If only they were open tmrw, Id order 3 more of those lavash wraps. I hope to dream about it tonight and make a wish they'd magically open just for me lol. read more

Was excited to try this place after an Uber driver said it was fantastic. Easy to find spot, nice staff but the food was really kind of lackluster. Chicken Shawarma wrap was DRY DRY DRY, the chicken was dry, the pita was dry and falling apart and the lettuce was all brown on the edges and looked like it was chopped a week ago, it was dry too. Got the garlic sauce on the side to avoid it being flooded with sauce, the sauce was ok but no amount would have save this wrap. The soup was good, nothing exemplary or disappointing. The tabouli salad was just ok at first, I took 90% of it home and let it sit for 6 or 7 hours, that really helped it out. Sitting and stewing in it's juice's softened it up a bit and the flavors had a chance to meld. It was the best part of the meal, enjoyed for dinner after a lunch time purchase. Maybe it was bad day today, I'll give it another shot one day and see how it goes. read more

Our first time trying Shish Grill, it was absolutely delicious & loved everything! For entrees, ordered the Falafel & Vegetarian Plate and Chicken Kabob kids meal- whatever the name is of the garlic side sauce served with the kids meal- it's the best sauce ever! Half tempted to drive back for more Yolanchy. There was plenty of food, but these are amazing- similar to a dolma but better. Will definitely order from here again & can hardly wait! read more

I am a regular here now, my favorite is kafta kabob, gyro for lunch, combo plate for dinner since I got more time to treat my self with the wonderfully cooked lamb, shish tawook, and kafta; I always get the soup as a side. I can't miss it. It reminds me of my mom's cooking. The staff are so helpful and attending. It's a self service restaurant but they always try to bust my table when they can. This family owned restaurant deserves the four stars. Great food. You must get the hummus, lentil soup, and the baklava. Everything is home made. We came here for dinner last night with the family and grandparents. We did a family style dinner. Started with hummus and pita. Amazing flavor and texture. Even my 4 year old loved it. Then we shared two combo plate plus chicken sharwama plate and lamb burger with fries and all chose lentil soup for the side. Lamb burger was my favorite followed by the lamb kabob in the combo plate. Very tender and super flavor. We loved the lentil soup so much we ordered two more side of it which comes out in a huge bowl. Completed gone. so good. Finally I told my husband I was too full for baklava. Well he and grandma both ordered one and guess what I ate half of his. It was really well done. You can tell its home made with love. The owners English is not great so make sure you speak slowly and enunciate. Everyone serving us was super friendly though. You can order at the counter or at your own table and pay at the end. $100 including tip for 5 adults and 2 kids. Not bad. Hubby and I devour the left over at 2am. ;-). I like this place a lot, it's right next to sports basement and right after a game or practice it's awesome to get a quick bite. I wasn't a big fan of this place, but when ai checked inside it's changed my whole perspective. Super yummy and great service! I stopped by yesterday to bring home dinner for my husband and myself and didn't quite know what to expect. I saw a couple outside eating and they recommended the lamb which my husband enjoys (me not so much!) It was early and not busy at all. The woman behind the counter was very nice. I ordered the hummus appetizer, the lamb and the spicy chicken. I waited about 10 minutes or so for my order and left. The smells driving home were amazing!!! I couldn't wait to try everything! Let's just say we were very pleased with our order. The hummus was fabulous, I think the best I have ever had. The chicken was spicy and good and the rice was tasty. I went to Shish Grill last night (11/4/17) to have dinner with some great friends. I met chef Nancy and her 3 charming boys. They helped run the restaurant. The youngest of her boys I taught in 7th grade. Rawad came to take our order. He was a great waiter and very capable. He made some great suggestions. The food was so good that you could hear a pin drop. We ate until we were stuffed. The cool part was that there was enough left on our plates to take home for another satisfying meal. I chose the gyro plate. Salad or soup, generous amounts of rice. And gyros meat and let me tell you, I would give more than 5 stars if they would let me on yelp. The Baba Ghanoush was awesome with the pita bread would have been a meal in itself. No words could tell you how I Truly enjoyed my meal. Get some of your great friends together and try this wonderful place. I will be back many times. read more
