Shmagel's Bagels was a little bit of a disappointment. The lady working could not have been nicer and was trying to be accommodating. However, the limiting menu here made it hard when ordering a bagel sandwich. The order came out quickly and was correct. The avocado was fresh. Sadly, the bagel was barely toasted and while they have eggs and vegan eggs, they did not have egg whites. They also did not have regular bacon, so we had to order turkey bacon. I think if you want just a bagel with cream cheese, butter, etc., then this is your spot! The bagel smelled amazing and was clean. It was conveniently located, making it easy and quick to try, however, we were just disappointed in the lack of menu options for a bagel sandwich.

Absolutely terrible food and service. Older blonde lady (seemingly manager) yelling at her staff and bossing them around making the entire ordering and waiting process uncomfortable. Bagels are hardly toasted, smear of cream cheese, thin shaved microwaved bacon and cold cheese. $15 for 2 bagels such a waste of money. Save yourself the trip. Best bagels in OC area is "A Bagel And" in Ocean Pines.

I was being dripped on while standing at register

I came in and walked to the register. Only one couple was already eating at a table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A young girl with long brown hair is at the register and as I'm asking her questions, water is dripping on me. I look up and there is a hole in the ceiling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ask about the eggs and they are precooked so I passed. I only ordered one cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with a side of cream cheese. They charge to toast the bagel. I stood there ten minutes watching her repeatedly walk over to two guys who cook and chat. Passing the bagels several times. One cook got a drink refill. Very casually ignoring the fact I'm standing there. I started visibly getting annoyed with just waiting and he finally went and got the bagel. The bagel was mediocre. Uber eats is much better. I wanted to like this place but the employees could care less

Quick place to grab a breakfast sandwich or bagel. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nothing fancy but we were in and out quickly and able to walk back to eat our breakfast on the beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

AVOID the downtown location!!! The location is unorganized and the The manager (older woman) is rude, talks about/judges your order while they're making the food!!! very rude, unprofessional and setting a horrible example for her staff. AND the food is awful! Our order (which ahe commented and judged while making it) was wrong and the egg and proteins were even warm! If you want a fantastic breakfast sandwich, online ordering and professionalism go Uber Bagel in north OC - Well worth the drive!!!

Tiny bagel spot a block away from the beach. Got there around 11 and seemed like only plain and everything were left. Sausage, egg, and cheese had a generous portion and could definitely taste the freshness. Some other good sandwich options.

Shmagel's coffee...crap to the last drop, err, ahhh, mound of grounds

If you like the equivalent of a warmed bagged grocery store bagel with barely a schmear of cream cheese, then this is your place! The coffee makes the cup you got at the rink or truck stop seem great. People at the counter were fine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is no ambiance of which to speak. It's an enter at the front exit in the back chute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If the bagels & coffee are good, who cares? In fairness, my gf had the crab cc and shared it was good. I have been consistently disappointed and held off on a review for years in hope that I just caught them on a bad day. Nope, it is what it is... Take your money elsewhere or be prepared to be fully underwhelmed.

My friends went to pick up bagel sandwiches for us and they said the lady/owner was super rude to them. First off she didn't have any of the bagels that we wanted so we just ended up trying a few. I got a plain bagel with bacon, egg and cheese. Pretty decent sammy but I just wish my friend weren't so rudely rushed away. She kept saying she was going to close (even though it was an hour till she closed). Meh there are prob better bagel places to go to!

Ordered bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. I don't think the egg was fresh and the bacon was rubbery. Please do not waste your time.

We saw some good ratings and gave this place a shot and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff who helped us make the right selection. As my wife was fasting, she went with a small fruit bowl, my son chose shortstack pancakes, and I tried the veggie hash. The fruit bowl was decorated well and had plenty of variety. From blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, watermelons, apples, bananas, and others, all the fruits were fresh and perfectly ripe. The pancakes were very large and just one would have been more than enough for two people it seems but they even added berries for my son on them. The veggie hash had lots of potential. It was cooked well, however, lacked seasoning. It seemed slightly bland and I had to utilize ketchup to give it some identity. However, the quality and variety of veggies inside was great. Overall, I am giving four stars due to the fact that the prices are high, but the service and quality are worth it; especially for such a close location to the boardwalk.

Our waitress came over, she was very polite. Most the time she spent on her phone. We asked for iced coffee which was not an option. Liv and I ordered crab cake breakfast and Amanda the crab omelette. Poached eggs were also not an option. Food was good. Average. The iced coffee cocktail was tasty and very strong. We walked from our hotel and checked in about 15min before our reservation, and were immediately sat. Don't seem overly busy which is never a good thing in a vacation destination. We were sat along the windows and put in a drink order. I got an old fashioned which was fine. I ordered the cream of crab soup as a starter. Soup was solid, but the flavor was pretty lacking. As my entree I went with the bleu cheese encrusted steak. I ordered it medium-well, which is what you do at a place that doesn't have steak in its name or isn't billed as a steakhouse. That way when the undercook it (as most do) it'll be the preferred medium temp. Anyway, the steak came out and WAS NOT encrusted. The potatoes that were served with it were very good but undercooked and slimy. The vegetables looked just forced and were thrown on the plate to add color not flavor. Our waitress Devin was nice, but she could tell the kitchen wasn't providing a good meal. We skipped dinner and went to Dumser's. Meh - wouldn't go back.
