Fries (comes on the side with burger)
    Annabelle R.

Ordering online in advance was easy this past weekend, and staff provided sufficient service when I arrived. Got the sideshow burger and a chocolate shake. The burger was delish! Juicy, saucy, cheesy, just the right size. Definitely satisfying. It came with fries on the side (or an upcharge for garlic fries, cheese fries, bacon, salad, etc.), which were pretty standard in quality and taste, nothing special but not bad. The shake was thick, in fact I had to wait for it to melt a little before I could even drink it. And they made me the wrong milkshake. It was chocolate and banana flavored. Don't get me wrong, I like banana, but it's not what I ordered. I was already home when I noticed the error, so I just drank what they gave me. Though I got my order to go, the outdoor setting at the eatery was inviting and had a lot of character, with plenty of spaced out seating for enjoying a meal on site. Free and easy street parking too, on a Saturday evening.

Was kind of lost riding through Berkeley and saw this spot. Great find. I order the Hyphy chicken sandwich Came with shaw, their Hyphy sauce and Jalapeno, and a order of fries for 20 bucks. I loved it. I loved it so much I took the time to add it to my Yelp reviews.. When I the Berkeley area I will be stopping by to experience something else off the menu..

good burger, no cheese, super tasty

Food - ordered the good burger without cheese, bbq wings and lemon pepper wings. FOOD WAS SO FREAKIN GOOD! bun was lightly toasted, flavor of patty was tasty and wings were super fresh. Service - pretty busy. We ordered and waited maybe half an hour. Ambiance - cute little place and has outdoor seating, good for bringing dogs as well.

The habanero sauce on the wings was tasteless, no kick, just sweet goo. Fries were good, asked for extra crispy.

My boyfriend has been trying to find the best spicy chicken sandwich spot to replace Hot Bird (originally in sf but moved to Oakland and closed) and heart great reviews about this place. We ordered a hyphy chicken sandwich and the original good burger (single patty). Even though it was busy, food came out fast so that's always a plus! We both preferred the good burger more than the hyphy chicken sandwich and regret not getting a double patty. The meat was so well seasoned that it was such a classic burger. If they didn't use 2 chicken thigh cutlets to make the chicken sandwich, we might've enjoyed this more. The hypyh chicken sandwich was so saucey that it masked the chicken thigh and made it soggy. My bf and I both agree this isn't a classic spicy chicken sandwich and prefer other places. Service was super nice. The cashier working that day and the women bringing out our food was super friendly. Would come back just for the burger!

Grilled Salmon salad with an amazing aioli. Line 51 Pilsner. Crisp and light, true to style. Great pairing.

I tend to eat burgers, and theirs are seriously good. My sneaker hit though is the salmon salad. Grilled to perfection, supported by the freshest lettuce, with dressing to die for. Today it is paired with a perfect Line 51 Pilsner - hits the spot for a summer day. Owner operated, with attention to detail, and a passion that is absolutely conveyed through their cooking.

Cool spot near the jobsite. Highly recommend it! Usual Friday spot for the field crews. Had all the sandwiches and they don't disappoint. Be sure to order cheese fries as an upgrade. Hope y'all enjoy!

No frills burger stop where the milkshakes are my favorite. Full of flavor and made with real ice cream. They also have delicious burgers well-packed with toppings. I had the single patty Good Burger, which is quite filling, but for those a little hungrier, they should absolutely try the Sideshow. Their fries are right in between crispy and soft, but note that their garlic fries come with a lot of fresh raw garlic on top. They have a lovely outdoor dining area with plenty of heaters and roof cover. Plenty of picnic tables to sit on and fast delivery times. Staff are friendly and patient as we stared up at the menu.

Phenomenal. My wife was craving a burger and we had recently tried their new concept Sideshow Express which we loved so we decided to give the OG location a try. We each got their signature burger, garlic fries and split a salad. Everything was delicious. The burger was perfectly seasoned, juicy and fresh with plenty of veggies. The garlic fries were crisp and flavorful and the salad was large with chick peas and plenty of veggies. They have patio seating only which is no problem as there are plenty of heat lamps, a roof and two TVs for watching games. The service was prompt and nice. Can't wait to come back.

    Smashed them burgers!

Let me tell you... this place rocked! So freakin delicious, great service, and happy customers! We dug right in so no photos of the food, but the photos on Yelp already represent the foods yumminess

Everything was good and good portion. Wings were fire & the burger was even better. Didn't make it to the photo lol

Sideshow Burger, garlic fries, and Dozen Lemon Pepper Wings
    Alyson C.

I will never stop raving about this spot! It's the perfect place for a classic burger and fries, or wings with insane flavor. I had the best lemon pepper wings I've ever had here. The homemade ranch was the cherry on top. You have to try the LEMON PEPPER WINGS!! The burger also shmackin' with a great house sauce and two flavorful patties with all the goods. We enjoyed a few ciders as well on their sun-lit patio and it was a great vibe.

Still a good place to bring kids? There used to be games they could play on the patio. I haven't been in a few years.

I didn't see any games. But it's nice outdoor setting to have a casual meal with tables big enough for families

    Are there restrooms?

    Yes

Can anyone tell me if they serve shakes and malts?

They do and they are fantastic!

Do you take large orders of ~125 wings? I wanted to place one for this weekend, in advance, but couldn't find a way to contact you.

    Are their burgers flame grilled?

    Broiled, not boiled! Delicious!

Will you be showing the Super Bowl on Sunday?

    Yes

What is the good burger sauce?

Its a house made thousand island. Ketchup, relish, mayo, spices and a touch of lemon juice.

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes we are dog friendly! We have a large patio area for your friend.

I love that you can choose the doneness of the patty. I went with medium, and it came out perfectly cooked. The bun was soft, buttery, and rich without feeling too greasy, and every ingredient seemed intentional and added something distinct to the burger. It is a very large burger, though, so be prepared for it to get a little messy. There is a restroom where you can wash your hands, but it requires a key, so bringing hand sanitizer or wet wipes may be helpful. Overall, the burgers are definitely on the pricier side, but I thought the quality justified it. I'd happily come back again.

What I don't understand is why I'm charged an additional $2.50 for the lettuce wrap when I'm not even getting the bun. If you're taking something away, what's the justification for adding an extra charge? I could understand a modest upcharge, but $2.50 for a few leaves of lettuce is hard to justify. I can buy an entire head of lettuce for about that price. What bothered me even more was that no one mentioned the charge when I placed my order. It wasn't until I picked up my food and saw the receipt that I realized I had been charged extra. Customers deserve to know about additional charges before they order, not after the fact. When I politely asked why there was a $2.50 charge, the employee simply looked at me and said, "I don't know." There was no explanation, no offer to ask someone else, and no attempt to address a perfectly reasonable question. That level of customer service was just as disappointing as the surprise charge. The burger was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don't plan on coming back. Or maybe I'll just bring my own lettuce next time. Better yet, just give me the burger without the bun, and I'll wrap the damn thing myself when I get home.

Since moving to the neighborhood earlier this year, I have walked past TrueBurger quite a few times on my way to/from the 19th Street BART Station, and I was excited to give it a try. I was initially thinking I would get a burger, but my friend had to postpone getting together until the mid-afternoon, so I ate lunch at home and opted for a milkshake when we met a couple hours later. I had seen a special coconut shake on the menu on the TrueBurger website; I'm a big fan of most things coconut, and especially ice cream. I was eager to taste the shake...and my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I realized it was just a vanilla shake with shredded coconut. Why is TrueBurger trying to pass this off as a coconut shake? It's far less novel, but it's perfectly acceptable to only offer vanilla and chocolate shakes. The mix-ins actually put them one step ahead of much of the competition, but misleading customers is never okay. To add insult to injury, I have tried reaching out to TrueBurger via email, and management is incredibly unresponsive. They could have easily fixed this by offering me a refund or asking me to come back in for a shake on the house. Do better, TrueBurger.

I appreciate that they did not put too much BBQ sauce because that always drenches the buns and makes the eating process very messy. The fries were also great - fresh potatoes? Corn fritters were underwhelming for its price point, would've been fine not getting it. While the food was pretty solid, the extremely long wait and the packed seats are what makes my rating go down. Lovely's is a very popular spot, even for a weekday dinner. The vibes are immaculate. It offers both indoor and outdoor seats, very spacious. However, because of the amount of people, the wait in line was a bit more than 30 minutes. Then adds another wait to get the food. On top of all the waiting, seating options become limited and you will most likely be stuck with the outdoor tables, which can be unfortunate on a very cold evening. If you're hungry, don't come here. But if you don't mind the wait, this is definitely a great spot with great company.

First of all, my order was TO-GO. And let me tell you... when I got home and opened that bag, I was honestly blown away. My food was packaged with so much care, precision, and pride--it was neat, organized, and handled like it actually mattered. That alone told me everything about the level of service in that building. Candalen--YOU DID THAT. The attention to detail on my plate did not go unnoticed. You treated my food like it was being served in-house, and that speaks volumes about your work ethic and pride in what you do. Aaron--listen... that peach lemon drop??? BABY. That was my first time trying one and it was EVERYTHING. Smooth, flavorful, perfectly balanced--you made that drink an experience all by itself. I will be back JUST for that. And let's talk about the vibe--the music, the energy, the atmosphere--it all came together in a way that made the entire visit feel GOOD. Not just food... a whole experience. I come for their brisket and my friend loves ribs so we went ahead and ordered combo plates to share. Mine was the brisket with a side of collard greens, she had the pork ribs, a hotlink with a side of Mac-n-cheese, & cornbread. For drinks we had lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few months but the quality of the food, the service and the expectation to pay and tip up front were very disappointing. The greens, Mac cheese, brisket and ribs were cold. The hotlink wasn't BBQ'ed it was pan fried. Everything tasted like warmed up leftovers and we will not return. For 2 of us to eat it came to $100 and we were not satisfied. The dining room is an attractive space, it was completely empty. The staff was unclear about what we ordered, had to be told to bring our drinks, bartender is also working as server and apologized for his uncertainty. I suggest this restaurant hire and train more staff if they intend to keep their doors open.
