I ate here recently with my mom for lunch, and it was delicious! Generally, when we go for Mediterranean food, we opt for some very quick and casual falafel or chicken shawarma wraps on the go. However, Sidewalk Grill completely transformed our Mediterranean food dining experience. My mom got their chicken shawarma plate and I got their arugula and caramelized onion salad with falafel, and both were very different, inventive takes on the Mediterranean food we had been so accustomed to eating. I especially enjoyed my salad, and their falafel was perfectly tangy and spiced. The ambience was also a big plus because they have a cute outdoor patio for seating, which is nicely decorated and enclosed, so you are slightly separated from the noise of the bustling street as you enjoy your food. We came right as they opened, and it was a good thing we did because we just missed the crowd. You can tell this place is has some great food just by looking at the line that extended out the door at peak lunch hour, so I do recommend going early. If I had to critique anything, the wait for the food was a little lengthy, however, the freshly fried falafel and juicy chicken, right off the grill, was absolutely worth the wait. read more

For her sides she had hummus and grilled vegetables. Both main entrees tasted very good as well as a he sides. They do have some seating inside but most is outside where we sat. They might have had a change in ownership or their chef changed or both. Food quality and taste is not even close to what it used to be. Babaganush and salads taste completely different, and not in a good way. Babaganush has some new spices and herbs it didn't need. Salad tastes worse than a work cafeteria salad- Not chopped or put together properly, dressing tastes horrible. I don't believe any restaurant I've come across in Los Angeles offers that. This means that you get a wrap and a bowl of soup for $13. In the Los Feliz area. Unheard of. But wait! There's more. With that soup, you also receive pita bread. So sizable BBQ chicken wrap. Lentil Soup (or other side option -- there's a lot) and pita bread. $13. The mediterranean BBQ chicken wrap is just that. But the chicken is marinated and grilled with a nicely yellow/orangish hue that is signature of mediterranean dishes. It's not really bbq chicken wrap, but it's a BBQ chicken kabob wrap. Their prices are slightly higher than other restaurants in this area. However, the portions are generous for sharing. Topolino salad is one of their signature salad. Large portion, fresh chopped romaine letuce, cranberry, raisins, sliced almond, thin sliced red onion, feta cheese and their special ranch dressing. The salad is very fresh but their dressing is so delicious... not to sweet, no too acidic. I also appreciated that they did not put tons of red onion... just enough for some tangy taste. If you have nut allergy, keep in mind about almond in this salad. The salad also comes with pita bread. We added steak to our salad which is cooked perfectly, very tender, moist, slightly grilled with salt and pepper! BBQ chicken wrap is large portion as well. Chicken is very moist, shredded, wrapped with romaine lettuces, black beans, scallions, corns, tomatoes, tortillas tortilla strips, cheese and their special ranch dressing. I enjoyed a meal of lamb chops, basmati rice, tossed greens and shirazi salad. SideWalk Grill has never disappointed before, so I am satisfied that Dave made sure I gave this fine restaurant another chance. And I like that this place doesn't dress up the food too much with crazy sauces etc. You can confidentially line this up to the classic but quality places like Panini Kabob Grill or Sotta. However compared to price point and quality/quantity isn't quite right there (the salmon and chicken shawerma plates did not come anything like the photos and no complementary grillled veggies with the plate). We ordered $135 worth of food from Sidewalk for a birthday celebration at work. During lunch, one of the ladies found a massive earwig in her salad. As she mixed her salad, the huge bug appeared near her salmon. We immediately called Sidewalk Grill and spoke with the manager, David. Upon hearing the situation, he was nonchalant and, while he did apologize, he only offered to refund the salad. We had six orders, and once we all saw the earwig, everyone stopped eating. One coworker hadn't started her chicken wrap but was too afraid to eat it after seeing the bug. David was reluctant to refund her chicken wrap, even though he should have refunded the entire order since we all stopped eating. He seemed impatient with us, and only agreed to refund the chicken wrap when we mentioned posting a review on Yelp. Came on a Wednesday at the tail end of lunch hour during Covid. The patio is covered, breezy and the have fans. Lots of plants and decor around but no flies! Guests aren't allowed inside - you'll order at the front door. Tables on the patio are very well spaced and there are a few tables on the sidewalk. I ordered the salmon, rice, hummus and lentil soup. The portion was huge. I saved some for later. The salmon is cooked so perfectly that i ended up eating some of my leftovers before i even left the table. For that reason, I don't think I'd order this salad again in the future unless they change their position on how they prepare it Again, the menu states 'arugula,' and does not indicate it is mixed with other types of greens, so I think that is what you should get when ordering this salad.
