Tonight I had the topolino salad with white breast kabob combo with garlic hummus and roasted potatoes and it was delicious and fresh as always. We were looking for a place near Griffith Park that would be a good place to grab and go with some food we could eat on our hike. First off, this place is not quick. Which is fine, it just means they're preparing their food fresh and not sitting under a warming lamp. However, I was disappointed with the flavors. The chicken shawarma lacked flavor as did the other dips like the babaganoush or the garlic sauce. It just didn't have that flavor kick you'd expect from Mediterranean food. On the flip side, the chicken kabob plate was good. Chicken was tender and the rice was good. The potatoes were semi sweet and not very well cooked so that was disappointing. I love Sidewalk Grill! I used to come here pre-pandemic and was able to order to go today. I called for pick-up around 11:45 a.m. and was told to come pick up food in approximately 30 minutes. One thing I love about this place is that it has a free parking lot for customers. It's kind of on the smaller side, but I've personally never had a problem with it in the past. Today, I got chicken (dark meat) plate and a ground beef (koobideh) plate. They were very accommodating with my request to substitute out rice for salad. You also get 2 sides each. I ended up just going with babaganoush and tabbouleh for both. Both were very yummy! :) My chicken was juicy and soft. And my husband enjoyed his ground beef! Overall, never disappointed. Their food is healthy, tasty and good. Trust me. My favorite is the grilled salmon. Delicioso! Lunch peak is 12-2p. Prices are a little on the high end $$. I was out at the LA Zoo and was contacted by a dear friend who wanted to meet for lunch. She suggested this place and I am glad she did! The neighborhood is super cool and has an actual bookstore which is great. In any case we arrived and were greeted warmly and asked if this was our first time. It was indeed and we were given menus and told they would take our order at the register when we were ready. We waited for my friend who arrived and we all ordered. I got a hibiscus iced tea which I love and a chicken kabob plate. We found a great table outside and took our order number with us. It was a lovely sunny day in LA. The meat was good perfectly, not dry at all. Perfectly seasoned and the sides were really good! When something pretty simple comes out cooked so well, it makes such a difference from its competitors. We ordered for takeout and for delivered Mediterranean food, this was pretty good!! I ordered the falafel plate and my friend ordered the boneless White Meat Chicken Kabob Platter. We wish it came with pita, it just came with rice. But the sauces that came with it were spectacular. There was some sort of thick garlic sauce and another thinner sauce. We got a side of tzakiki and also ordered the hummus which was really good! I think the rolls / wraps may be worth it a bit more than the platter so will be trying that next time. read more

The woman who took our order was very kind and not condescending at all- unlike what we experience at Sotta all the time. And when they brought out our order, everything was there, no problem! They also have a parking lot, so parking is a breeze and you don't have to pay for valet like the restaurants just up the block. Would absolutely return here. My boyfriend and I were craving Mediterranean and he found this spot on Yelp. This was my first time eating Mediterranean in this area so I don't have a point of reference except for a place in Pasadena. We tried to look for parking in the small lot, but didn't find any. Across the street is a residential area with meter parking that doesn't charge on a Saturday night. Even if you had to park further north, you'd still have a pretty nice walk past other cute restaurants. I had read about the chicken kabob white plate and wow were those reviews right. I'm normally not a huge fan of chicken, but it was moist and charred. My favorite. You get pita bread, hummus, rice and a choice of two sides. I ordered the tomato soup and tzatziki as sides. My boyfriend ordered the tomato soup and mixed green salad. The tomato soup was out of this world. It reminded me of the one I always get when I go to Disneyland. That came out first before our chicken. The tzatziki sauce was great and paired nicely with the rice and chicken. The hummus tasted super fresh and had the garlic flavor. Alkaline water is also available for free and they give you decent sized cups so you don't have to get up so often to fill it like other places with small plastic water cups. I enjoyed a glass of white wine along with my meal as well and was delicious. With the wine, the total for our meal was around $34. Worth every penny. read more

They have a hefty menu with a bit of everything to please every palette, including some great falafel plates and Greek salads. My favorites are their chicken plates and wraps, though. The meat is always perfectly cooked and seasoned, and they come a few different varieties including BBQ. The Chicken Pita Wrap with tzatziki sauce is particularly good, and you can get your choice of sides with any plate or wrap, from hot potatoes to babaganoush, take your pick. They have a few boozy drinks on the menu as well as soft drinks and coffee. Nothing too exciting, but if you're craving some hearty Greek food, there's no better place in the area. Sidewalk Grill knows what they have, and for that reason my relatively simply Chicken Kabob with a side of Hummus came to a higher than usual $15.25. More expensive than most, but as you'll see - well worth it. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? It's hard to even describe how good this kabob was. The chicken was tender to the point of being almost buttery, and it went perfectly with the fluffy and flavorful rice. How do you stand out in a sea of Mediterranean/Armenian/Persian restaurants? Deliver delicious, consistent quality like Sidewalk Grill. The white meat grilled kabob is always so juicy, and the rice is always perfectly cooked. Nothing is more disappointing then undercooked rice, but they always nail it. The sides are delicious. I love the pasta salad, broccoli kale salad and their usual suspects (tabbouleh, hummus, tzatziki) are delicious. Their Shirazi salad doesn't include onions which isn't typical, but I did just add my own last time I got it because I'm one of the few raw onion fiends out there. I do lament the lack of a grilled tomato in their meat and rice dishes, but certainly not a dealbreaker when everything is delicious. I hope to support them when the pandemic ends someday, but their takeout operation is quite efficient and the food always arrives decently warm-- a great sign. Pretty legit spot to come to for lunch. I ordered a salmon wrap plate which comes with two sides, and a drink. I paid about $16 for this meal, which can quickly add up if you're here daily for lunch. I thought it was worth it, although I wish there was more salmon in my wrap because towards the end of it, I was eating only pita bread and the leftover salad in the wrap. I got the potato salad and the hot potatoes as my sides. I'd pass on the hot potatoes next time as it was just potatoes and fried onion slices with little to no seasoning. First time I went here I found the food to be fine, by LA standards it was 3/5 stars at most. However the second time here, my husband and I ordered about $80 worth of food (2 people - dinner) and it was so bad that we couldn't eat more than 25% of it. The rice tasted so bad we thought it might make us sick, so we didn't eat it. The meat was horribly spiced and the falafel was mushy and slimey. We were very sad to have paid this amount of money for food that was literally inedible. Will never return or suggest to others. read more
