The service is decent. The menu has changed drastically. The original chef is no longer there. They seem to have retained his two desserts, the mango cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake. It looks like there's a few of his appetizers left, but basically the whole menu has become a very much larger Indian menu, which is good. I just miss the original chef and his version of things. There's much more dining space and many more menu items now. And the whole old corner store vibe is gone completely from when it used to be Schiro's.

Nice atmosphere, adequate food, good vibes. Food was a solid 3.75. We ordered the crab cake and samosa for starters. Both were amazing. Thai green curry was very flavorful, probably the top dish we ordered. We ordered it 3 level spice but it wasn't spicy at all. Chicken tikka masala was just okay. Smoked burgers were a hit, 2nd best option. The mango cheesecake was also fantastic, highly recommend.

Bombay Phel Puri- a new one for me! Puffed rice, peanuts, chutney served with crisp wafers

A fabulous experience for our group of 14. We had a large table in the back and while it wasn't entirely quiet, we shared conversation and wonderful food. In the group, there were a variety of food needs that the menu supported- gluten free, bland, vegetarian, etc. We had several bottles of wine- chose one from the cases lining the walls, a spread of appetizers, and a variety of entrees. I enjoy mild Indian food- I intentionally avoid vindaloo- so, if you looking for an authentic Indian meal, I can't speak to that but my tikka masala was buttery and rich in flavor. And, the garlic naan was charred to perfection. Great evening and great meal.

Shrimp - not noted as spicy and is very spicy. Rice was blown, over cooked.

The establishment has a nice decor and is comfortable. The service was friendly and attentive. Nice presentation on the plating. The dishes had some nice elements but all of them needed a bit more or less to make them memorable.

Went to Silk Road as a group of 5 for restaurant week. We had reservations and were sat at a comfortable table right away. The bartender understood when I said extra dirty martini because that's exactly what I got and it was perfect. The calamari salad was good enough that I would go back just for that - loved the dressing! Sorry that I didn't get a photo of the salmon, it was good just not quite as tasty as I expected it to be, lacked a little flavor but still good. I was jealous of my husband's pork chop the bite I had was delicious! But what really stole the show was the mango cheesecake- wow! Decent! Its a lovely place and I highly recommend!

Checked in and received a free dessert. This mango cheesecake is out of this world. Will try to make one at home.

Wow. A delightful young server helped us decide on our dishes. She steered us in the right direction! I know... I know...in New Orleans? Curry? Yes! Great happy hour as well. This is an international city and we were here for 4 days...wanted to diversify our choices.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. First, the beer. I loved the Irish Channel Stout. Second, the food. I got a lovely Lemongrass and Crab Bisque which had large chunks of crab and was so nice and flavorful. It had a little bit but was so good. I also got a cracker which was excellent and very crabby. I loved it. And then there was a nice and friendly bartender. This was a nice experience.

This is a funky little joint in the bywater with live music, great wine and delicious apps! They're crab bisque is a huge portion with tons of crab and spice. If you like your food to have a good kick, this is the place for you. My entree was delicious, but my husband's pork chop was a little dry. Their cheesecake is also super yummy. Great service!

Why have I never been here before? What am I doing with my life?? My cousin and I came here to check out their coolinary menu. I loved the space as soon as I entered. Its not pretentious and has just a welcome neighborhood vibe. I could tell that they have many regulars from nearby that frequent. The waitress was great. Our food came out fast and was so amazing that I am still thinking about it a week later. They have an extensive wine menu and also offer cheese boards...they had me at cheese so I KNOW I will return to try some. I had the pork belly tacos, green curry shrimp and the white chocolate mango cheesecake. DO NOT LEAVE without trying this damn cheesecake!!! I did not think these flavors would gel on my tongue but man oh man..i saved a small piece just to take home to have a taste for later. I have raved about this place so much that a few co-workers and I are planning a dinner there soon!

My husband and I had a delicious meal here. We had the cheese plate, bel puri, crab soup, english salad, chicken tikka masala, mango cheesecake. Everything was very good and the portions were decent. Not the cheapest place but worth it!

Came here yesterday to try the Coolinary menu. We were huge fans of Sara's back in the day and were thrilled to be able to taste Chef Ganesh's food again. The service was fantastic--warm and friendly. We called ahead to make sure they were serving dinner (we were coming in at 3:30), and when we arrived they had a table set for us. I had the samosas, salmon, and cheescake from the Coolinary menu (photos here), my partner had the chicken wings, saag paneer, and beignets. Everything was fantastic. The salmon dish was my favorite at Sara's, and it was just as perfectly delicious as I remembered. It was just the loveliest experience.

Had a great time at Silk Road the other night. Love the style and ambience, the skilled harp player, the delicious food... I tried the Southern Indian red curry, naan, and a slice of flourless chocolate cake. The curry, which comes with jasmine rice, was rich with coconut milk and perfectly on point spice-wise. Hot, but not too hot. It contained a unique blend of veggies--peppers, potato, sweet potato, turnip, and squash, among others--and was beautifully presented. The naan came hot and buttered and complemented the curry nicely. I don't normally order dessert, but since a yelp check-in revealed a free one I had to try the chocolate cake... and wow, so glad I did! It was possibly my favorite item--dense, velvety, amazing, with raspberry and chocolate sauces drizzled just so. Wish this place was closer to home, but I'll probably be back nonetheless. Must try the samosas and the Thai green curry.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. There was one barista that night, and while she was kind and made excellent cocktails, her voice was really low--making it difficult to hear her over the music. I'm glad the bar was empty, or else I may have not been able to hear her properly. Aside from those minor concerns with cleanliness and communication, I'd still say to give Fetiche Nola a shot if you're looking for a unique place to start off a long night of partying.
