I chose this restaurant for both the food and sunset views, but learned that you have to specifically request the GOLF PATIO, not just patio, if you want to have a view. Otherwise you're sitting outside in like a promenade - so no views but ok. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic. The food was good but not amazing. A few things seemed a little under seasoned, starting with the corn chowder. I wouldn't get it again. The burrata with olives was very good. The olive oil with it was delicious! I had the mahi mahi which was very good, but again seemed under seasoned, and my husband had mushroom stroganoff (which is one of their specialties) with a piece of steak on it - delicious. Carrot cake for dessert was also delicious and toasted pecans on top were such a good touch. It's a cute place and worth trying again but I would have been happier sitting somewhere different. Really great food! If you have to spend money anyways, get some good grub. This place has some interesting cocktails as well made with bee honey and the monte Christo is the best I've ever had. Real blueberry compote ( not the high sugar stuff) and the ham was real thick cut ham! We also got the elk burger and the Hawaiian. Both amazing but, the elk takes the cake on the 2. The Bloody Mary is good but, a little too spicy for my liking and I like spicy! I thought the outdoor area had a deck so some pics I saw were a little deceiving. My five stars: Staff, ambience, food, price, je ne sais quoi. Fantastic little restaurant off the quasi beaten path in park city. Went for dinner and sat inside - it was slammed outside on the patio. Staff was nice, not memorable. We started with the elote and shrimp cocktail. Both rich for appetizers and not what we'd get normally. They were both good and would recommend. We had a great bottle of wine from a decent offering to go with our New York strip (we split). The steak was fantastic though not on the same level as prime or another designated steakhouse. The garlic mashed potatoes and roasted broccolini were good, not life changing. Price was comparable to everything else in park city for a place of this caliber. We ended with their traditional Apple cake that was done perfectly. A la mode obviously. An overall good dinner. read more

I have been to several DDD establishments all over the US, but had never tried Silver Star Cafe (which is in my own backyard) until last week. And let me tell you, I've been missing out for years!! It just wasn't very good at all. For $30 it needed to be much better. I dont normally send food back but this warranted a send back. 5 minutes later, a juicy, tender and beautiful burger was delivered with fresh cut fries and oh my goodness it was divine. It was like all the passion and love that went into creating this delicious burger was reignited by sending it back. It was a night and day difference behween the two burgers. Not only did it taste 100× better but it also LOOKED better. I wish they'd serve their food with as much as love as that 2nd burger was made and delivered with. We liked it, but slightly preferred our other dinners (High West, Firewood) on this trip - hence the 3 stars. I would definitely return if I was in or near Silver Star (E.g., a lunch break from skiing). The service was very good (5 stars). The ambience is good but they crammed us into a table near the door; they probably shouldn't have a table in that spot. While not owned by Vail Resorts, which is why it is not seen on the branded map for Park City Ski Resort, this restaurant is like a best kept secret that is not so secret. Owners Lisa and Jeff Ward are foodies who know how to cater to foodies. The delicious cuisine created by them and their great team provides the best food to be had at Park City Mountain. At the base of Silver Star Chair Lift, this independently owned restaurant provides a great experience due to the food, drinks, atmosphere, and charming staff. I probably ate more than I should, but I enjoyed every bite and it was hard to stop myself. How this place doesn't have a 4.5+ average blows my mind. The osso buko was FANTASTIC. Literally fall off the bone tender pork, corn salsa cheese mix was such a perfect pairing. This meal was all around fantastic. The fried Brussels were SO GOOD. Even the steak was good too. Cooked perfectly. The ambiance of the side room was actually really nice. It's always fun to go out of town and try different restaurants. Silver Star was recommended by a local and didn't disappoint. We were hoping for a table overlooking the golf course on the patio but got one with the same view inside. All of the menu items on the menu looked good and we went with the beet salad and the pork osso buco. The salad was a nice start but the osso buco was absolutely delicious with the coconut creamed corn. The service was very friendly and I'm looking forward to dining here again my next time in Park City. read more

Where do I begin to describe the Blatant discrimination. I'll begin when I called around 12:28pm to make sure there was seating available due to how busy the time of day was I knew there may be a bit of a wait. I spoke with a gentleman and I asked do I have to make a reservation for lunch or is it fcfs? No he replied and said we do not take same day reservations ...confused cause I wanted to make sure I didn't pass the other option; so I confirmed is there currently any availability now? He replied Yes - me ok we you in a few. I get to the restaurant stand in line and my gut knew there was going to be a full fib to ear. The gentleman said hi how many - I said for 5 and he legit looked around as if there was no room anywhere. He replied and said it would be a 45min way. Wait what a 45 min wait, but I just called and confirmed that brunch doesn't do same day reservation (understand) and there was availability just 7-11 min ago. Again I understand it's busy and yes that enough time to have at least 2-3 people walk up for lunch. I pointed to an table outside and asked well what about that one (below in the picture)? That has a reservation at 1pm . Ok! Let me speak to a manager who honestly tried to make me look like a fool due to the timing I was given wasn't precise to the situation and honestly made it worse due to the lack of professionalism and contradiction the gentleman up front provided regarding the availability in the establishment. I was finally offered to sit inside (which would have been nice to have been offered that in the first place) but hey why should I. The culture of Park City has truly made humans believe they do not have to treat other humans with respect or acknowledgment. I hope some type of positive conversation about how to treat others that don't look like the majority is treated with common courtesy. Oh and by the way the picture attached is the seating my family could have been seated to, but it stayed empty from 1pm until 1:40/1:45pm. Absolutely delicious meal. We made a reservation for 7:45 pm on the patio and was seated immediately upon arrival. The setting was perfect as we had a lovely view of the mountains. We had several selections off the menu but our favorite dishes were the salmon, the Mahi-mahi and the side of Mac and cheese. Our server was great working with my son as he was set on a Cuban sandwich (Iunch menu only) and helped him find something that was agreeable to him. We went there for a brunch on Sunday and we were very disappointed. Our waitress McKaela was very impersonal, she was like a robot. She has never made an eye contact with us. She asked very short question and she was looking up in the air instead of looking at us. She asked how our food was while walking by and she didn't even wait for an answer. We enjoyed an exceptional lunch today at the Silver Star Cafe. Jeremy was our server. He was friendly and made us feel very welcomed. I ordered one of the specials: the Mahi-Mahi with Tabbouleh. A very cute place to grab brunch. There's not much parking near the cafe and you have to go in to ask for a permit to park in the lot. But the food was delicious and the server was great. This place used to be a favorite of ours every visit to park city (6 times a year). Post covid it has gone downhill :( staff has been cut as well as quality of service. If you'd like cold food and mediocre service this is your spot. Remember to remind the staff about your drinks and meal or it doesn't come. Note to owners: fix your staffing issue because in conversations with the management on site they already knew there is a significant issue. We watched every table around us get their meals comped because everyone's food was cold and extremely delayed. Poor family of 6 behind us waited 35 minutes for chicken strips because the chicken needed to be deboned and broken down. We counted 4 tables that had the same experience as us. Skip this place unless there has been changes from management or make sure to get your meal for free. read more

This is because the place is so cute and cozy, they always deliver amazing service, they have live music every Thurs, Fri, and Sat, and the food NEVER disappoints. They're preference allergen friendly, with plenty of gluten and dairy free dishes. Yes, it's pricy. But Silver Star Cafe 100% makes the price tag worth it.
