My family went here with company. The waitress was rude and when asked to come over she ignored us. When a waitress brought out another tables meals we were very confused. The waiters and waitresses were all over the place and very confused. On the other hand the food was delicious. I ordered a medium rare NY strip steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were heavenly. The sauce next to the steak was the best sauce I have ever had. My mother ordered the stroganoff with added steak. She loved her meal. My father ordered the elk burger and said it was delicious but could have used more cheese. Overall 7/10 read more

Had a nightmare of an experience at the Silver Star today. I know this restaurant is highly rated and it was on Triple D and all that but today's experience was awful. When we arrived, the hostess was having a complete meltdown and said she was "too busy to take our name down" while we waited for a table. We waiting for quite a while to get a table, even though there were three empty ones when we arrived, but then it took another 30 mins to get our food on top of that. Perhaps they aren't used to being full in the Summer, but this is a weekend. Surely you'd have enough staff to handle a lunch crowd during the busy tourist season? Our waiter was very nice, but not very attentive. I don't know if they were overwhelmed today or what. He brought us drinks and we didn't see him again during our 30 minute wait for our food. We had long gone through our first round of drinks by then (iced tea) and we didn't get a refill until the food came. We ordered a kiwi tea at the waiter's suggestion, and then when he brought a refill, it was a regular tea. The other people in our party had water. How hard is it to refill water? The worst part was the food. There's nothing worse than waiting 30 mins for food because you just know that it's going to be cold. And it was. Incredibly cold. It is really unpleasant to eat cold eggs. My bacon was overdone on one end and raw on the other. How do you even do that? That doesn't even seem possible. My toast wasn't even brown and had one little swipe of butter on it. My wife's OM eggs were solid. My daughter's cheeseburger was inedible. The bun was dry and crumbly and literally fell to dust when she picked it up and the patty was dry and hard. I had a bite of it. It was not at all good. We had to ask for salt and pepper, weren't offered any accompaniments like jelly for our toast, and had to ask for more drinks. My other daughter's pizza was like a Lunchable - tasted like a store bought pizza, and ran with grease onto the plate like one. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, as I try to cut people some slack right now due to COVID. But I have to tell you this was THE WORST meal I've had in many years. I've worked many years in my life in food service and I haven't seen a comedy of errors like this in a long time. read more

Covid Practicing - Yes, the server were wearing masks and the tables were placed over 6 ft apart. Service - Excellent! The server was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the menu! She was lovely! Food - Delicious! The Kentucky Coffee Cake was warmed up and each bite was better than before. We were sited in the 'hut' and the server greeted us right way! The banana French toast were divine! The icing and fruits were sooooo good! Overall - I love this place and it was delicious. BTW, I ate here for the Sunday brunch at 10 am and there wasn't a wait (@ least for me). So my suggestion would be to go on Sunday to avoid crowd since the place is small to avoid the wait (Pro-Tip). read more

We went here for the mushroom stroganoff and were disappointed. It didn't have much flavor. We normally don't add salt to dishes but had to for this dish. My boyfriend's green curry was also under seasoned but did taste better than the stroganoff. The carrot cake was okay, we like that it didn't taste overly sweet. Our favorite dish was the brussel sprouts, if it wasn't for that dish we would've given the restaurant 3 stars. Overall service was great! Don't think we'll be coming back in the future. read more

I don't write many reviews but thought it was worth posting one about this establishment. Second time here, first time was very solid. Tonight, not so much. Averaging out a 4 the first time and a 1 we felt it was appropriate to round down. The appetizer and cocktail portion went well. And from there it went downhill. The dinners (chicken and osso buco) came out lukewarm which alone is not the end of the world. But our waitress never came to check on us, knew we wanted a glass of wine yet never came back to take the order. Eventually, a manager maybe came over with the two glasses of wine as we were finishing our meals. By that time we were a little annoyed and explained that the food didn't come out hot and we didn't want the wine at this point as we had already finished our meals. No apology. Just turned around with the two glasses of wine and walked away. At the least he should have said, "sorry about that, wine is on us" but the thought clearly never entered his mind. Food was good. Drinks were good. But the wait was a joke. We told them we had 5 adults and a high chair. (6 total) Waited 30 min. They sat us at a raised 4 top. But took a chair away. Leaving 3 chairs and an open spot to put a high chair. We stood there thinking... uh??? We need 5 chairs. And high chair. So we got the 5 chairs. But apparently they only have ONE high chair in the whole place and our toddler had to wait for it because another table was using it to hold their empty car seat ... vs just putting it on the ground.... So we had to shuffle our toddler back and forth for about 30 min while we waited for them to be done "using it". When we did finally get the high chair - she wasn't happy because her seat was about a foot below the table. So we had to hold her anyways because she couldn't reach or even see her food. We brought this up to the hostess and our server before our food even came out and they both just looked at us like we were making a big deal about it and did nothing. I've been to Silver Star twice in the past 3-4 months and my first experience back in April was 5 Stars. However, my experience in June was just 3 Stars. They've made some changes (albeit seasonal in some cases) to the menu and how they do things, which I don't necessarily agree with. The menu is now much smaller, which typically would be fine, but they've got to do the 5-10 things that are on the menu really well, and I don't think that they did. Back in April I had the braised short-ribs and the cardamom cheesecake and it literally blew me away. SO GOOD! In June I ordered the stroganoff and it was just okay. Neither the cheesecake or shortrib was on the menu. Also, they've decided that they no longer serve fountain soda, only real sugar soda. Which means that every time I want a refill on my diet coke it's going to cost me $2.50 for the whole bottle. I'm not a drinker, so I don't really understand the concept of paying for tons of drinks. I want to drop $4 and drink all the diet coke I can stomach. Just me. read more

Not familiar with the area, we thought we gave the Uber driver the wrong address when we pulled into a neighborhood- behold, at the dead end as well as bottom of a PC chairlift lies this cute restaurant that serves amazing food. Our family of 4 ordered- Grilled chicken with fig glazed (delicious) fried chicken (amazing) carrot hummus with pita and veggies, incredible spicy Turkey meatballs and the very best roasted Brussels sprouts ever. -really great and the popular Mushroom stroganoff. Finished with choc brownie and a mixed berry cobbler. All , really fantastic. Our server was adorable (from Argentina). We had a reservation for 14 people and Mikaela was our server and was absolutely phenomenal. She was incredibly attentive and did an awesome job with our large party. The food was delicious and would absolutely come back again. Shame on Evan who felt the need to reopen his check and remove the tip for Mikaela because she told them that a large party had a reservation and they needed the table. I loved everything about this place! The food, the atmosphere, the live entertainment, the service. Loved it all. We sat outside with a view of the golf course. It was very nice and even a little romantic. The food was very good. I had the osso bucco and it was tender and flavorful. Just like it is supposed to be. I really enjoyed the live entertainment. Service is poor. Waited over and hour after appetizers for our main course. Wait staff said was due to ordering appetizers which was part of their Prie Fixe menu and this was their special menu. How absurd of a response? Several tables that came after us were served before we were. Drinks were stingy with wines that were in no way a 4oz pour and at $14 per glass, it's a bad deal. Wine selection was substandard This place was recommended by one of the locals and is not a place I would recommend. Our group comes here periodically but won't come back. Had to go up and complain to the hostess twice to finally be seated after the male host who is too stoned to function kept forgetting our party. When seated, we weren't given enough menus ... there are 4 of us? How hard is that to manage? Seated with warm water and no glasses. Took over 10 more min to get menus and water glasses. Our waitress is so nice but clearly swamped and probably overwhelmed with nearly every table in here is clearly having a terrible experience. Now been here an hour and a half and still don't have any food. Terribly sorry I brought out of towners in because this has completely ruined our morning and is nothing short of an awful experience Update: we FINALLY received our food. It was all sub par. Partially cooked, barely warm, some slightly messed up orders. Significantly worse than my past experiences here. The icing on the cake: they brought us some fries to take the edge off of the 45+ min food wait, then just charged them for us too. This experience has been so awful. I was really looking forward to eating here- I ended up extremely disappointed. I came in around 7:45 PM, no reservation, there were tons of tables. My friend and I wanted to sit at a balcony. The hostess said it wasn't available. We said okay and we sat down. We were not given menus. 7:55 rolls around, no water was filled at our table and STILL no menus. 8:10 rolls around and still, no menus. We asked the hostess and she said she was short. I found it extremely hard to believe when there were several tables open. She "tracked down" one menu. It was a lunch menu, and pretty sure it was from the winter season. We got up and left. Awful experience. Had a reservation for a patio table only to get there and not be seated on the patio as it's saved for "special requests." Sat us in the parking lot and said it's a two hour limit (also a dumb rule). Asked for an umbrella since we were in the blazing sun they sad "sorry those are first come first serve " ummm what? Then the "manager" who marked this review as "funny" below (further display of their unprofessional nature) came over at our time of two hours asking us to leave since our time was up. Unreal. He was rude unprofessional and unaccommodating from the start. ***Also there were TWO empty tables on the "sacred " patio they NEVER sat the entire time we were there. The tables remained empty even though we were told they were reserved. We easily could have sat there (as we REQUESTED in our reservation) but were denied when we arrived. They act like it's a 5 star restaurant with special rules. Nowhere even close. Food was mediocre at best. Best part of our experience was our sweet waitress Julia. She was the only 5 star experience of our time there. And to jon, better people skills and restaurant management training would be greatly beneficial. ;-) read more

Food was subpar, view was beautiful. We went here while visiting park city. It was in a cute neighborhood with a ski store right next door. The best part of the food was the fries, 100% get them. My husband and I wandered over to Silver Star Café just before hiking on the Spiro Trail. Located at the base of one of Park City's many ski lifts, this establishment has seating both indoors and out, beer, and food to help you refuel before heading back up the mountain. I was trying to be healthy and ordered us a bowl of braised lentil chili, but my husband added fries to our lunch after seeing a plate pass us by. I wasn't too thrilled with his sabotage until they came to our table. It's amazing how a basket of hot hand-cut fries and a sprinkle of salt can make me so happy. The chili was pretty terrific as well, especially with the avocado and cilantro garnished on top. Given the large portion, you could easily share it with a friend or two. Wash it all down with one of the several craft beers available, and you've got a solid lunch. read more

Wait... it comes with f***ing corn... who the hell do you think I... oh wow that is delicious corn. Forgive me... that was so so so good. Can I have some more poorly digested corn? Fried chicken... holy moly. You can taste every ingredient in the dredge. I loved it so much. I was strangely confused by the bbq sauce. I didn't know if I should like it or not. Didn't love it... but definitely like it. It comes with f***ing corn... who the hell do you think I... oh wow that is another delicious corn. This one was kind of... potato salady tasting... but with corn. I liked it better which is saying a lot. Desserts... so good except that one with the chili powder... do not get the chili powder one unless you love chili powder. Everything else we had was a perfect end to the meal. Cocktails... thus far... best I have had in Utah. They... how do you say... try. THE VERDICT: Go. A little on the pricey side but the nail it on the cuisine. Flavor is delicious. This is a cute restaurant at the base of the Silverstar ski lift. They have a nice outdoor patio and cute indoor Decor. The menu has a few interesting items you don't typically see like jackfruit tacos. They were good. Our server was a bit rude but I would give this place a second try. read more
