    Truffle ramen.

This is fast becoming one of my favorite places to get Ramen in Long Beach, conveniently located in the Long Beach exchange center, which is close to the hanger that has other eateries plus an ice cream shop across the street Silverlake Ramen has a lot of menu items to offer. Of course there's Ramen, but there's also Poké bowls and Karaage chicken bowls. They're also appetizers as well. Services fast and easy there's outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Indoors is a little colder than I'd like it to be on a nice day outdoors is good to have your meal.

First time trying this ramen at this location. I'm on a low salt diet so the is a broth bit salty for me I had to asked for hot water to make it more bland. Our server was very attentive she kept checking in. It was busy on a Friday night. Cool spot to dine in. Establishment is clean.

It just wasn't impressive enough, considering there are so many excellent Ramen shops in Gardena and Torrance. The broth was just average, a little mild for my taste buds. Service is also all over the place. Maybe it's because we went during a very busy lunch hour.

My favorite!! Servers are always so accommodating. They have a side patio so dog friendly. I love to order the classic ramen, broccolini with yummy sauce, and spicy edamame. My guilty pleasure food!!

I went with my cousin for dinner because i was craving ramen and they have a location in Irvine. Since i didn't want to go that location i went to the one in Long Beach. When i come to this location all the servers are nice and always attentive. The inside is very small but there is an outdoor patio. I always come early since the location gets crowded.

Combos - soup are both ramen tonkotsu with side appetizers of creamy broccolini and Chicken Karaage

Took my boyfriend here as it was his first time trying this place out. We both ordered the combo, which was convenient because we were both looking to order a ramen and appetizer. He got the tonkotsu ramen with the creamy broccolini and I got the same, tonkotsu ramen with chicken karaage. We both enjoyed the broth. It was very frothy and flavorful with a good umami taste. We both liked how to has simple ingredients - seaweed, green, onions, bean sprouts, spinach, and my favorite was the egg, and his favorite was the pork belly - cooked just how he likes it, crispy/crunchy on the outside and tender with an easy bite. I really enjoyed the creaminess off the broccolini. My boyfriend enjoyed the sauce of the broccolini and I liked how it seemed to be a little pan friend so there's were crisp. We both agreed the chicken karaage was okay. Tasted just like a basic chicken karaage. The service was okay. We did sit outdoors so our server came by a few times. But we were waiting sometime because we wanted more water. I had to wave through the glass window to get our server's attention. This locations has a great ambiance. It's located in the LBX Hanger area. Pretty spacious with a good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. When we went it wasn't too busy.

I came on a Saturday around the time they opened. Service was friendly and food came out quick. The broth was flavorful. The crispy rice had just the right amount of tuna/topping. Would definitely get this again. The shrimp tempera roll is just as you expect, standard roll to help fill you up.

This place was just okay for me. I enjoyed the medium-spice broth, but the overall quality doesn't really compete with other ramen spots in Long Beach. It isn't terrible, just not impressive. The seating felt disorganized. There was a long wait, which might've been due to the rainy day, but it was frustrating to watch smaller groups get prioritized. If you're in a party of more than 2-3 people, expect a longer wait. We even saw people who arrived after us get seated first. My ramen only came with one slice of pork, which isn't typical compared to other locations, and while the bowls look large, they're actually pretty shallow. On the positive side, the service was great. Our server was fast, attentive, and definitely a highlight. Overall, this feels more like a "quick lunch if you're already in the area and it's not busy" type of place.

Stopped in to Silverlake Ramen earlier this week. Let's jump right into this review. Silverlake Ramen is in a great shopping area with several eateries and stores. Free and plentiful parking. Location is not far from the Long Beach Airport. What did we have - The Classic Ramen - Creamy pork broth, bean sprouts, spinach, green onion, seaweed, black garlic oil and seasoned egg. Choice of Pork, Chicken, or Tofu - Offspring selected Pork as his meat choice - 8/10, broth was flavorful and pork was tender Chicken Karaage Bowl - Japanese style fried chicken, teriyaki sauce, spicy Aioli, green onion and red ginger over rice - 8/10, nice crispy chicken, light/mild seasoning, would prefer a more seasoning - add that umph to the chicken flavor Edamame - Soy beans and truffle salt - 9/10 - delicious! Pros 1. You can seat yourself - I like that concept. 2. Promptly greeted and order taken. 3. Food arrived hot and fresh in about 15 minutes. 4. Restaurant was clean. Saw servers quickly cleaning empty tables and properly wiping down surface, kudos! Cons 1. Chicken Karaage lacked flavor. Not sure this is normal for Japanese fried chicken, for my pallete, I like my meat flavorful. Not from the Long Beach area, but this was quite the find and I would go back.

BIRTHDAY MONTH=BIRTHDAY COUPONS=HAPPY RODNEY Free Churros w/ Ice Cream for Rewards members Redeeming my free birthday month sandwich at the nearby Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and dining at Sosogu afterwards, Silverlake Ramen was next on the birthday itinerary for a sweet dessert treat. Churros w/ Ice Cream- Taking it to go, Silverlake Ramen's Churros w/ Ice Cream was just the right size for a less guilty dessert. The cool scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzle w/ chocolate syrup, on top of freshly fried churros, satisfied the sweet tooth, and not too much to weigh me down and feel like tons o' fun. Service was great. The attendant provided a takeout cup of water, while waiting for my order. Parking is at LBX, with Silverlake Ramen directly behind Georgia's Restaurant, across from Handel's. Another day, another birthday month promo scratched off the list. I've only previously been to the Cerritos Silverlake Ramen, and I've been a fan, thereof. It's good to know there is another nearby location, which I can dine at, whenever the opportunity presents, itself.

Food was solid and the prices were reasonable. I will say there are some better options in long beach which has a lot of ramen places per capita, but overall you can't really go wrong here. Service was good and the ambiance is very casual, and not super loud and bustling

    Stephanie G.

I've tried so many different ramen spots and I can confidently say Silverlake Ramen is my favorite! From the amazing service, to the always clean tables, and deliciously fresh food, I have to say there's no other place like this. I love getting the seasoned egg in the ramen. I usually tend to order the ramen combo because it's reasonably priced. Starting at $16, for +$4 you can get an appetizer to have some left overs. I love coming back to this location, the only thing that keeps me from coming is the parking! There's so many stores around that it can take a while to find parking.

    Hair!! Yuck

Really bad experience here. The food was not good at all--bland, poorly made, and just overall disappointing. On top of that, I found a hair in my food, which is completely unacceptable and honestly disgusting. Basic cleanliness and food quality should be a given, and this place missed both. Definitely not worth the money, and I won't be coming back.

I came in on Saturday with my daughter to enjoy an early dinner. It was around 5pm, and not too many people were dining at that time. I dined in as part of the Yelp Elite Experience (YEE). They greeted me kindly, took my name down and sat us down at one of the small tables against the wall. The YEE include a ramen of my choice and a two-piece appetizer of crispy rice and spicy tuna. I opted for the tonkatsu ramen and ordered an additional one for my daughter even though I knew she wouldn't even finish half. Leftovers for me to enjoy later I also ordered a cranberry juice for her and the rooibos iced tea for myself. I very much enjoyed the iced tea and appreciated the menu recommending it as a perfect companion to ramen. Although it's unsweetened, it had a refreshingly natural sweetness to it. To my ramen, I added black garlic oil and chili paste. The broth was very delicious, flavorful and rich. I'm not a huge pork eater anymore, which I need to remind myself of. I did really enjoy my ramen, however, next time I'll have to try another protein, extra egg instead of pork or give the vegan ramen a try, for my own good. Thank you to our server Mel for being very sweet and patient with my daughter and me. She also explained the service fee very well. Heads up that there is an automatic 17.68% service charge added for dine-in orders. I believe I did see it mentioned on the menu, but the man who sat us (possibly a shift manager?) also pointed it out somewhat quickly. However, there was some confusion upon paying because I had explained to Melanie that I wanted to tip on what the total would have been without the promotion; that's just how I've been taught to tip regardless of there being a free or discounted item on the check. So I was adding it up on my phone to see what "I owed" for service. I confirmed that everything looked good on the receipt and she ran my card without the option of me being able to add an additional tip. Something about how most people won't pay more on top of the included service charge, which I get completely, but I felt bad because I got free items and wanted to leave a more comprehensive tip. I'll have to go back soon and try that vegan ramen and more of that tea

But I had heard so many great things about HiroNori that I wanted to try it anyways. My brother especially kept hyping them up, and he LOVES ramen. And I'm glad I decided to try them out! While HiroNori is a SoCal chain, it still feels like a mom and pop restaurant. The crispy rice with tuna was EXCELLENT! Everything you want from crispy rice and spicy tuna. The tonkatsu was delicious! Great depth of flavor. They bring you garlic and spicy paste on the side. I had to add A LOT of spicy paste to get it up to the level I wanted, but while at other restaurants I've lost the broth flavor when adding too much spice, the spicy paste just enhanced the tonkatsu broth. And the pork in the tonkatsu - truly next level. This is probably the best pork I've ever had in a ramen dish. The noodles were also fantastic with the perfect amount of bite. I loved my jammy egg as well. The restaurant itself is smaller, with fun lighting. There is a parking lot which is great. They do not have tipping, instead they have a service charge of a little over 17%. Definitely worth it!

It's gotten a lot more popular since then, with some great additions to the menu (a lot of vegan options) and social advertising. So when I was walking back home from a delicious (but not filling) lunch, decided to stop in to 'top off'. It had a great dish along with very good banchans (but also a bland rendition of a classic Korean dish). It was busy on a mid Saturday afternoon, with their dedicated backyard parking lot pretty full. They now have outdoor seating where they've set-up korean 'grill-your-own' bbq tables. There's a clear 'Please wait to be seated' sign at the front, but no dedicated hostess station, so one has to wait till a server happens to come by. I was told I could choose a booth. There are no printed menus, instead needing to depend on their website. I had a craving for kimchi jjigae ($18.99), and noticed mackerel ($9.99) so got that as well. The jjigae comes with banchan, and those came early. They really upped their game here, with 7 different ones that looked (and tasted) great. Today, they had a daikon and carrot pickled salad (solid, would go great with fried chicken), stir-fried mushrooms (would go great in a bibimbap), marinated fish cakes (a personal favorite, and their version was solid), soybean sprout side dish (have grown to appreciate this as I've gotten older), napa kimchi (pretty strongly sour), cucumber kimchi (strongly favored by still maintaining crunchiness), and a decent macaroni salad (think I tasted a bit of potato in there, Hawaiian-style). This is a super good deal, especially for lunch. The banchan along with the steamed rice (well prepared) comes in bronze looking dishes, indicating a higher level of refinement. I love pike mackerel, having it quite a lot when growing up, and always thought that it (kkongchi) was what mackerel was in Korea. In reality, a more popular mackerel is the Korean mackerel (godeungeo), and this is what is served as an appetizer here: the preparation was a revelation. Two large, generous, boneless filets of mackerel is lightly breaded and fried. It sits on top of a bed of greens with various accompaniments. A generous amount of chili threads make it visually appealing as well. This is an absolute steal at the price, a fine dining dish at this restaurant. And it was great not having to worry about thin bones ruining each bite. I really loved this dish. The dish I thought would be good...was not. Just looking at it, one can tell something's up: the broth was bland without umami, which is the worst sin for this dish. There is a choice of spam (chosen) or pork belly, and its definitely added at the end of cooking since it added nothing to the broth flavor. Maybe the broth is initially prepared vegan-style (no pork or fish seasoning initially)? But if so, why no mushrooms? Anyway...I ate all the chunks in the stew to not waste, but left the rest of the broth alone. Service was attentive to bring the dishes, but then completely non-responsive afterwards. I finally was able to grab another server, who was able to check me out tableside using Toast tablets.
