Got my favorite tsukemen and it is better than I remember as I used to think the broth was too sweet compared to tsujita. Starting off strong with the bao buns...these were so soft AND pillowy and you get a choice of either spicy chicken or pork belly. I do love me some buns, hun. I saw that they had Chicken karaage on the menu and knew I had to get it! Crispy perfection while being so tender on the inside, and that spicy aioli sauce...addicting. If you are in love with spicy like me, you HAVE to try the Blaze ramen for your spicy tonkatsu fix. Complete with a hunk of tenderized chashu pork! And you guys, I was so freaking excited to try this Truff & Silverlake collab!! The ramen was room temperature which hurt my soul. I got the Truffle-garlic ramen and the garlic was overpowering everything. The truffle oil wasn't cooked in with the broth, it was just sprinkled on top so the oil was floating on top and turned out to be an oily ramen. Food is decent, the pork buns are incrediably tender and savory, the garlic ramen broth was warm and soothing for my throat. Mind you I was a little sick with a cold when I went and it did help. The only issue i had was the difference in attentiveness between customers sitting on the bar and booths. I sat at the bar several times and honestly the servers primarily always has their backs turned towards the bar and don't try to develop a connection or give the customer a warm welcome or atmosphere. Where as if u were to sit in a booth you seem to be better taken care of and I personally don't know why that is. Love at first slurp. Because let's be real, who doesn't at times slurp a tasty ramen. Ordered the chicken blaze ramen as a combo with Gyoza . My husband ordered the blaze pork ramen combo with a pork bun. Both add ons are very tasty the Gyoza with this sweet creamy spicy sauce on the side was superb. I combined that sauce with the pork bun and bam flavor fusion explosion in my mouth . I will tell you my husband loved his ramen . But let me review what my pallet tasted as I cannot speak for him. First of all my compliments the ramen base and its ingredients are spot on . Everything marries and dances well perfectly. The only thing I would change would be the chicken protein. It was on my opinion the dancer with two left feet in this dance of flavors. Chicken had no flavor absorption and was a bit too soft . It had the consistency and softness of very overly cooked noodles. Don't get me wrong , I do not want my chicken tough like rubber , but I definitely do not want it too soft as it was a mushy texture without any broth infused flavor. As we walked in a server/host welcomed us and was very attentive with our daughter, and usas well. The food was delightful and tasty. Our daughter had the classic, my wife and I shared a blazed ramen bowl along with some extra add-ons, YES I do recommend the food, but this review is more about the experience with the great server that made our daughter's day with just a little interaction, it made her feel soooo special that she was still talking about her today, and the reason why I decided to add this review. Silverlake has always been my tried and true when it comes to ramen. Since the beginning at their first few locations in Los Angeles, you can never find a better ramen place than Silverlake Ramen. Their broth is nothing but creamy and delicious with the blaze ramen, but you can choose your level of spice that you would like it to be. I personally always get the medium flavoring with the pork belly which let me tell you melts in your mouth. However my boyfriend gets the chicken and he says it's tender and moist as ever. The spice isn't overpowering, but you can still taste all the flavors that are cooked into the broth. The eggs are always cooked perfect, with bean sprouts and spinach, and a piece of seaweed and it's the perfect combination. Whether it be a cold day or a day when you've come down with a cold Silverlake will always be delicious. But let's not forget about the Chicken Karaage served with Spicy sauce. It's always crispy and cooked, but dipped in the sauce it's even better. If you're hesitating trying this place I promise it's worth the try. If you order through a delivery service the only thing I would recommend is pouring the broth into the ramen since then come separately and put the lid back on and let it sit for a few minutes so your noodles don't stick together!
