It was easy to inquire about two cake ideas for my sister's 30th birthday and party. They responded right away to my inquiry the next day, and their prices were reasonable for what I was asking for. The cakes came out wonderful and exactly how I wanted them to come out!
We were in Orange County to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday and my nephew's 22nd birthday and my brother ordered two cakes from here. One was chocolate and the other was lemon... Not only were these cakes absolutely delicious. They were beautiful. These individual cakes made the birthdays so special to have these custom, delicious cakes!! Highly recommend!! After doing a lot of research, I booked them for my wedding back in June and they were LOVELY to work with! We asked them to make a vintage 2-tier marble cake plus an additional strawberry vanilla sheet cake. These things stood out to me: 1- Taste, arguably the most important thing- it was delicious! So much so, I didn't even get to try the sheet cake day of cause my guests ate it all so fast! lol Also my mom could not stop talking about how good the cake was too! 2- Communication- Emailing them was such a pleasant experience!! They were kind, clear, concise, and always responded in a timely manner. 3- Price- Their prices are pretty reasonable and when planning a wedding that is always welcomed! :) 4- Aesthetic- From their cake tasting package to how our cake looked the day of the wedding, you can tell they take the time to make things look pretty which is always a big plus!! My husband and I ended up booking Simply Sweet Cakery to do our cake for our wedding. Most of the time the cakes look good but is super dry, but not here. The cake looks good and tastes amazing. All of our guests loved the flavors and couldn't stop talking about it. They went above and beyond and I'm so happy with how our cake turned out

This place is fabulous! From their super prompt responses and they delicious cakes, they've nailed it! I requested a gender reveal cake and they gave me a list of options and prices for me to choose from. I sent a few designs in and we were able to find one that worked in both style and budget. Their cake was absolutely gorgeous and High quality. All of my guests were commenting on how tasty it was and asking where I got it from. Will absolutely be using them in the future!
We chose Simply Sweet Cakery for our wedding after searching through many bakeries, and honestly one of the best decisions ever! First of all, Brooke & Christina are so so sweet and kind - they truly made the wedding cake experience the best it could be. I first reached out to them via email - they are super responsive and have very reasonable cake pricing in the OC area. We chose a few flavors and picked up our tasting box from their Costa Mesa location. After the tasting, we knew SSC would be our cake choice - their cake is super moist and fluffy, and it wasn't too sweet, just right! And the white buttercream they make is soo good! We ended up getting a 2 tier wedding cake with sweet marble and lemon raspberry, as well as 8 dozen cupcakes for our dessert table. SSC delivered the cake to our venue and we also rented a few cake stands from them. We got so many compliments from our guests about how the cake and desserts were delicious and not too sweet! Overall, the entire wedding cake process was so easy and seamless with SSC! We're sooo happy with how the cake turned out and recommend Simply Sweet Cakery for anyone looking for a wedding cake or desserts. Thank you Brooke & Christina, you two are the best!
We reached out to Simple Sweet Cakery to make our wedding cake and they were very courteous and communicative the entire time. We got to pick up a cake tasting kit to choose our flavor and the cake was ready on time and convenient to pick up. Most importantly it was insanely delicious and everyone including people who claimed they weren't big cake fans loved the cake!
Ordered a cake for a small wedding ceremony and I was so pleased with it! Violet and Christina were so easy to work with, and the cake turned out exactly how I imagined. We ordered a Strawberries & Cream cake and brought in fresh flowers for decoration. The strawberries very fresh and the frosting was just lightly sweet. I wish the cake itself was a bit lighter, but that's just a personal preference!
Simply Sweet Cakery made the wedding cake of my dreams. They were very responsive, helpful, and professional throughout the process. I knew exactly the cake I wanted and provided them with photos and they did not disappoint. Not only was the cake visually stunning, but the cake itself was moist and delicious. We tried six different flavors to land on the three that would go on each tier of the cake. The tasting cakes were mini cakes to go, which helped to make it easy and let family members try in the fun too. Overall, we were very happy with their service and final product.
I loved my entire experience and my beautiful, delicious wedding cake from Simply Sweet Cakery! From the beginning, our email communications were smooth. First, my now hubby and I chose flavors to sample which I picked up at their bakery which was easy to find. The samples were nicely packaged and labeled with instructions on thawing and storing. They were all so moist and not overly sweet! After tasting, we knew we wanted Simply Sweet Cakery for our wedding! For a fee, your goodies can be delivered and set up at your venue. Cake stands are available to rent as well. We chose a small, 2 tier cake and cake cups. Cake cups are basically just cakes served in cups with a cute sticker (we were able to request our initials on the sticker!) and a little wooden spoon! The cake cups are something new they offer which was perfect because nowadays, not everyone really wants to eat something that's been sitting out in the open! At other weddings, I notice how much cake is sitting on the table which ends up getting thrown away. I received a lot of positive comments on the cake cups because people were able to take them home if they didn't feel like eating theirs and some people took the cake cups left over from the crazy people who don't like cake! You can order as many different flavors as you please. We kept it simple with 2 flavors for cake cups and our 2 tier cake- we both chose 1 that we liked the most which was red velvet and cookies & cream. My husband and I then took our 2 tier cake home to share with our families. The icing on the cake (no pun intended!) - Simply Sweet Cakery gifts married couples a free small cake on your 1 year wedding anniversary if you spend a certain amount! How freakin awesome is that? We did NOT want to do the traditional "keep cake in the freezer for a year" thing because it takes up space and we heard other couples end up throwing it away because it doesn't taste good! My only very very minor gripe is payment is done through mail - either mail a check or write down your credit card info. I mailed a check and appreciated that I received an email when it arrived, but I would have loved to pay via Venmo or another electronic payment. I still highly recommend ordering from Simply Sweet Cakery for all your cake needs!

We hired Simply Sweet for our wedding and could not have been happier with the way everything turned out. Brooke was so easy to work with from the start. During our cake tasting Brooke was patient, helpful and really considerate of our budget and what we were looking for. She completely nailed my vision of what I had in mind for our wedding cake to a T. We also decided to have a few mini dessert options on our cake table. These were to die for! Oh. My. God. My cake was PERFECT! It was EXACTLY what I wanted and more. A lot didn't come out "perfectly" on my wedding day and the vendors I didn't have set up under my supervision fell apart with the exception of simply sweet! My cake was amazing and I never even saw it come in! Thank you SO much for the perfect set up! I got my cake topper on etsy (which I recommend for everybody) and they put it on for me!! Simply Sweet Cakery made our dream wedding cake for our wedding on Feb 3, 2018. We were so happy to work with them as a vendor. Lindsay was great to work with. They were always very responsive with emails and prompt. When we went in for a tasting, they had lots of options for us to taste that we had pre-selected. I was thoroughly impressed with all of them, but I was taken aback with the triple berry cake. I pretty much knew right then that I would choose them, even though they were the first cake vendor that I had gone to see! We tried other places, and none of which compared to Simply Sweet. I found that many cakeries offered EXTREMELY sweet buttercream or fondant frosting or filling. I hated this! I didn't want to have an overly sweet cake that just tastes like sugar. Not only that, but Simply Sweet had a competitive price for the quality that they offered. They also offer options in case you want to have a smaller cake to cut in front of guests as well as a kitchen cake to cut in the back in case slices run out. Lindsay helped us design our wedding cake, number of tiers, monogram, ribbon outline, and floral topping. We decided to get a white buttercream frosting, triple berry cake with 3 tiers, a gold ribbon at the bottom of each tier, and purple roses separating each tier in a circular ring. It came out stunning. Not only that, but people couldn't stop eating the cake. Some people even went for seconds! I am so happy to know that we made the right decision. Simply Sweet Cakery created an absolutely wonderful cake for my wedding. Our consultation and cake tasting were a very fun treat for my husband and I during the wedding planning process. Brooke was very knowledgeable and made good suggestions for how to incorporate our two very different desires for cake flavors. The cake turned out beautiful and it was exactly what I had hoped for. The cost of the cake was very affordable as well. They even baked yummy lemon bars that I gave out as favors. I would definitely recommend Simply Sweet!! read more

Brooke and Shannon nail it... again! I have had the pleasure of working with Simply Sweet for about 3 years now and am always asked to "bring dessert" for get togethers. When the occasion calls, Simply Sweet delivers! (Side note- they actually do deliver) Most recently they helped me with a gender reveal cake for my best friend's party. Brooke and Shannon were great. There were terrific in creating a tasting when we last minute ordering! We provided them with fresh flowers which they decorated the cake with. Wow! Things are so challenging during covid. Simply sweet made things so easy and most importantly delicious! We were having a very small post covid wedding we were planning ourselves( we are not wedding planners!) well they take a lot of pressure off an important piece of the puzzle. Not to mention asked for a 12pm drop off and was exactly that. Weddings can be challenging, too early things get thrown off, too late, again things get thrown off. I was looking for an amazing cake for my best friend's 30th! Yelp never disappoints so I searched for local bakeries. I came across Simply Sweet Cakery and dealt with Brooke. Brooke was so easy to work with and just like that my order was placed. I ordered the Triple Berry Delight and the result was just fantastic. The cake was moist and not overly sweet. The flavor was on point and the berries were fresh and plentiful. Everyone kept asking where the cake was from! Via back and forth emails, Brooke came up with sketches for our boys bday cakes with Iron Man, Batman and Buzz Lightyear theme (see pics). The cakes turned out amazing. All the guests were impressed. They not only looked amazing, they tasted great, not too overly sweet, just perfect. We chose the Go Nutty!!!, Pineapple Right Side Up and Simply Strawberry cake flavors. They all turned out perfect. Such an amazing experience. My fiancée and I are in the process of planning a wedding. The next item to check off our to-do list was look for a cake. Our wedding planner suggested Simply Sweet Cakery and we're so glad she did. From the moment we walked in, the owner Brooke, was all smiles. She was very warm, welcoming and friendly. She made us feel right at home. There were 5 different flavors of cake she had waiting for us to taste. She also showed us her gallery of wedding cakes she's done. Seeing pictures of her work really helped us narrow down the exact style we want for our cake. While tasting the samples, she was always there available to answer all our questions, although she was so informative she pretty much answered all the questions i had waiting for her in my head which was great. Another touch i like about this company is she provides a complimentary small cake for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Overall great experience. read more

Everything about Simply Sweet Cakery is amazing... There are so many reasons why SSC has five stars... We were married last month and dessert was at the top of my list! Excellent reviews on Yelp and wedding websites pointed me to her and I am SOOOO glad they did! Brooke did our wedding cake, groom's cake (a surprise for him - added just a few weeks before) and desserts - 3 cupcake flavors, lemon bars, almond cookies, brownies, cracker candy, and cake pops. I knew after meeting her at our cake tasting -she was the one! Freshly baked samples (cake, frosting & filling) served at room temperature - did not have that experience at two other businesses... We showed her a picture of what we wanted and she was able to sketch the matching design. I love PB & J sandwiches so the fact that she could make that in cake form was a must have!! She offers so many cake flavors - it was hard to narrow it down - but we did. The set up was beautiful - renting stands and plates was the way to go and provided us with a wonderful display of all our pretty sweets. I know our guests loved our treats as many of the plated items were gone before we even cut the cake! Every part of working with Brooke was smooth, emails answered, and meeting time to figure out the day of layout. Even my last minute order of the groom's cake - which he (and our 49ner fan guests) loved!! Thanks - Brooke & Shannon for all you did to make sure our cakes & desserts were tasty and beautiful for us and our guests!!!! Wedding Date: March 17, 2018 A year ago, Simply Sweet Cakery designed a beautiful cake for our St. Patrick's Day wedding at Seven4one in Laguna Beach, Ca. Working with Brooke and team was a breeze starting with the cake tasting session to delivery on our wedding day. They took all of our design ideas and honed them into the perfect wedding cake. Each layer was a different flavor profile which met both of our wishes. As our guests consumed every piece of cake they raved about the gorgeous design and each luscious layer...not a crumb remained. I reached out to Simply Sweet Cakery via email. It's really the only way to get in contact with them. I had to reach out a couple of times before a response but after the initial conversation was started, they were very responsive. I ordered a cake for 25 people for my mom's 60th birthday. I requested the cake colors and design match the invitation. It was spot on! I had sent ideas on how I wanted the cake to look and they were able to give me different, similar ideas, at different price points which really helped. The cake was delicious and beautiful. We got the strawberry cake - it was soooo good! It got rave reviews at the party and really made the night super special! We will be using them again for other events. read more

Whewww this is such a long overdue review!! Yesterday I pick up my one year anniversary cake that was so delicious. Brought back sweet memories from my wedding celebration last August. I really wanted to go with a bakery that was going to deliver on taste and my style of cake. From the start to end the whole process was easy. Each cake layer had a different flavor. My favorite is their confetti flavor which I went for my anniversary cake. The owner is such a sweet and kind woman. If your a bride to be or have an upcoming event !!! I highly recommend you give this establishment a try. You won't get just a dry pretty cake! Omg, it's embarrassing when I attend such beautiful events just to take a bite in a pretty but not so tasty cake!!! Food is so important in any event. People will always remember at any event the fun they had and how the food taste. My wedding was epic but this would not be possible without a fabulous team of people working behind the scenes. I ordered three cakes for my son's 1st birthday party. I can't say enough good things about Simply Sweet Cakery! Brooke, the owner, made the cakes exactly as requested and accommodated my budget. She always responded professionally and in a timely manner to my e-mail inquiries. I ordered strawberry fields, chocolate and lemon raspberry-- they were all delicious! Also, they were able to deliver the cakes to my venue even on a Sunday for a small fee, which really helped me to deal with one less thing on the day of the event. Recently ordered two dozen cupcakes from Simply Sweet Cakery for my sister's Flamingo themed Bridal Shower! We had purchased the flamingo heads from somewhere else and Simply Sweet provided the cupcakes. They were a huge hit and everyone loved the "strawberry cream" and "so vanilla" flavoring. They were truly simply sweet and not too much for everyone on such a hot day. I will definitely be ordering again for my next big party, especially since Brooke was so easy to work with! read more

We initially worked with Simply Sweet Cakery for my mother's 60th birthday cake and it turned out so well that we contacted them about our wedding cake. Brooke and Courtney made the overall experience so easy from the design to tasting their great flavors to the execution and delivery! They were even able to work with us on incorporating a hidden Mickey addition for our cake that we were able to get online and ship directly to them. They have a number of flavors and can customize accordingly based on what your need is which makes it easy to keep all your guests happy! So nice to work with! I emailed back and forth quite a bit, and as annoying as I was, they were soooo patient. It's a big plus when ordering something custom, because sometimes people can you make You feel like a bother. Best taking baby shower cake ever!!!!! The cake.was.so.freaking.delicious!!!!! Everyone loved it! We got the fresh strawberry flavor. Oh my Gosh. I literally ate more cake than I did actual. I Also ate a huge slice the next morning for breakfast. And then some more throughout the day, lol. I wish I would have ordered a bigger size, bc I want some right now!! read more

Simply Sweet Cakery made our cake for our January 2018 wedding. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and delicious! We received so many compliments and everyone went back for seconds. Our wedding was planned very quickly and we're from out of state. There wasn't an opportunity for us to come out to do a sample first. We trusted in all the Yelp reviews and signed the contract right away. We picked up our cake samples a few weeks before the wedding to decide on our flavors. We used Simply Sweet Cakery for our wedding favors: two brownies with powered sugar topping. I have the highest praise for the women of Simply Sweet and would recommend them in a heartbeat! Honestly, they were most likely the "best value" of any of our wedding vendors. Their prices were beyond competitive for the area, and the customer service was absolutely fantastic. Their modest fee for boxing the brownies blew me away! Not only were the brownies absolutely delicious, they were gluten-free! This was a big relief given that we had several guests with gluten allergies or gluten-free diets. If you're doing a sugary treat for your favors or another giveaway, you need to stop by Simply Sweet Cakery before you go with anyone else!! read more

Simply Sweet made the wedding cake for my daughters wedding. It was pure perfection. I gave them a photo of what my daughter wanted and the cake she made was more beautiful than the photo. The cake was their spice cake and it was wonderful. The cake was delivered on time as promised. They applied the flowers and we had the cake of my daughters dreams.
