I was put on to this nail salon by my gal pal Neveah! She told me they did beautiful nails and WOW they sure do! Quinn is a wonderful nail tech and the QUEEN of French tips! I am never disappointed when she's on the other side of the table. She's sweet, she's very careful, and she's very talented. The whole staff is great as well! Thank you for always ensuring my happiness when I leave the chair. Also, they have a stamp card!!! Don't wait to drop by here- call them asap !!!!!

I've been going to Simply Unique Nails for over a decade. These women are so nice and accommodating. They even took great care with patience when my elderly mom came in for a Mani/Pedi. Im back with an update because I love how consistent they are!! Quinn did my last two sets - a pink almond set a few weeks ago and then I opted for a French almond set again bc of a wedding I'm going to. I just can't believe how classy they look! Quinn does a perfect almond shape. You won't be disappointed with whoever you go to :) I also got my gel pedicure and I'm very happy with how clean and pretty my feet feel!! Love the ladies here!!

Upon arriving late for my 5:30 appointment. I was greeted by the whole team with a smile on. It's my first time here and to my surprise the nail shop did not smell like a nail shop. It smelled like a spa with a very relaxing smoothing scent and smoothing music. The nail shop is very clean and modern looking. I was helped by Sabrina. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time and made sure my nails are to my liking. Sabrina, Thank you for getting my fingers and toes ready for Fall! And I'm so sorry for making you stay later than your scheduled shift. I LOVE it!

It's been 7 years since I first visited SUN on 14th st, I cannot be more grateful for every single beyond satisfaction visit. I first started doing only Manicure, but I am girlie who works at the hospitality industry, so it's only rarely where I get my mani done. BUT for those who don't suffer ticklish when doing a foot massage, you should definitely check out their Deluxe Pedicure. Oh boy... It is simply beyond unique! Believe me, I have been adventurous and tried other salon's pedicure. But it is not the same. As someone who is on her feet 10+ hours everyday, SUN always helps me get both my fixes--cleaned and beautiful toe nails, and a foot massage. The staffs are sweet and caring, ambiance is so relaxing that I took a small nap while waiting for my turn. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been a perfect route for the past 7 years, but I am glad that I am heard and cared for every time when I need something from SUN. Thank you for making life more simple and satisfying. P.S. for those gals who plan to drive there, just past market on the same 14th st, there's some paid parking meters. The last few times that I went, I was lucky to have found parking there. But the closest muni stop is just right outside of the salon. read more

I rarely give one start reviews but this nail salon I will never go back to. I made an appointment to get a gel x removal. The lead manicurist/owner was very sweet and did her best but the actual process of removing my gel x was extremely unsanitary. She wore ONE glove and pulled out a scrappy altoids canister with filing tips from her random drawer. Which she then proceeded to give to her colleague to use on another client. The manicurist never removed the gel x. I even let her know that there was still residual product to which she said it was "just the color of my nail". She insisted on a gel manicure even though I asked for a filing and clear polish and the gel manicure was awful. The manicurist/owner handed me over to another associate who proceeded to damage my cuticles with her rough filing method. She didn't even stop when I flinched and said "ouch". I will that this lady knew that my nails still and residual gel x but rather than do something about it she proceeded to continue. So lame. Even when I acknowledged it she said "ok ok". And did nothing. I gave up. Needles to say, I will never be coming back to this place. read more

This is easily the best nail salon I've ever been to. I've been going for several years and OCCASIONALLY I'll make the mistaking of "cheating" on them with another salon and I always regret it. Had a gel manicure and regular pedicure here and the quality was pretty bad. At first I thought my mani was okay with just some small flaws (uneven, a few semi see through patches and thick in spots.) and that I'd be the only one to notice the flaws. Then 2 days after the manicure the gel was chipping. Gel doesn't usually chip. Maybe they water down their polish? Or maybe it's because the manicurist kept cutting the time in the uv light thing short so she could do them faster? Either way, by the 3rd day I have 3 chipped nails. I've been sick with a cold so I haven't even done anything physical that would contribute to the chipping. Pedicure polish was fine but they cut my nails uneven and don't even do a basic callous scrub. I would not recommend this place but it's worth noting that my friend's manicure came out fine, so maybe it was just the manicurist that did my nails. read more

Absolutely love this salon! I'm new to the area & didn't realize nail salons close early. They close at 8pm, I called at 7:10 & they told me to come on in & get my nails done. They took their time, no rushing even when it was nearing 8pm. They offer water, tea & soda & have alllll of the colors! Dip powder isn't popular here on the west coast so the 3 places that do the service have 10 colors or less. Needless to say I was beyond thrilled when I saw that they had 2 full sample packets of colors. Will definitely be back again! read more

I got a gel extension manicure and a pedicure and ended up paying $178 total (including $15 tip), which honestly shocked me. I was charged extra to remove my previous acrylics, and I also asked for callus remover during the pedicure, which somehow made the pedicure price extremely high. The pedicure itself was okay, but the massage was very underwhelming. The bigger issue is the manicure. There's visible gel/glue buildup underneath several of my nails, and they just don't look professionally finished. For the amount I paid, I expected much cleaner work and better attention to detail. I really wanted to love my experience because I had such good experiences here in the past, but unfortunately this visit did not match the quality or value I expected.

I am so disappointed I'm going to have to have my nails completely redone wasting more money. Sloppy and unfriendly service. Avoid. Oh and I requested GEL X and they didn't tell me that they were doing hard gel which is completely different and this ruined my set. I only know because it took so long and he spent 45 minutes putting on a clear something he didn't even tell me about. What a frustrating experience.

I requested a gel French pedicure, and I had Henry as my technician. He was super rough to the point where I had to pull my leg back so he would stop filing my hyponychium. He only applied one coat of the French, so you can still see my toe nail underneath. The French lines were also uneven - some are straight across while others are rounded. I went to work out after, and my toes hurt in my sneakers from how rough he was.

Worst part was 5 of my nails broke within four days. The materials here are very bad and it's not the gel x. When i did the same nail treatment at a different salon it lasted 6 weeks. At times, I felt awkward trying to figure out what was possible on my own while the technician simply watched instead of assisting me. At my last visit, the Gel-X application felt especially rushed. There was excess glue left around my nails which looked messy and unprofessional. While the final design was nice, it ultimately was not what I had originally asked for. When I expressed disappointment prior to leaving, the technician later explained there had been a language barrier. However, this was never communicated during the time of service. Instead, I was repeatedly told "no" to the options I asked about. Afterward, I reviewed the salon's website and realized they actually did offer the exact style I wanted. What made me especially uncomfortable, though, was that the technician put their hands in my hair without asking first. That completely crossed a personal boundary and felt very disrespectful. Overall, I think this salon is fine for simple services, but if you're looking for detailed nail art or a more attentive customer experience, you may leave feeling frustrated.

I did not have the best experience. I am going to get a little graphic so I apologize if I offend anyone. Anyway here goes: I tried this place because I read some good reviews on Yelp. I was getting a pedicure. I walked in and chose my nail polish. I waited for about 15 minutes. The water was a little cooler than I would have liked but I did not make a big deal of it. The gal asked if I wanted my nails cut which I did. everything to that point was so-so. Next was the cuticles. Whoa..... okay just went to bad. The gal kept cutting away on my big toe, kept cutting away and kept cutting away. OOPS! It hurt - IT HURT! IT REALLY HURT! It started bleeding and would not stop. It finally stopped bleeding after awhile. She was very sorry but at that point it did not help me. I was in pain. I got out of there as soon as I could. I suffered for about another two weeks. It was insane. I can not give this place a higher than 1 star rating. read more

I've gotten 2 manicures/pedicures in my life. I went with my girlfriend to keep her company. Anyways, the bad luck started before I sat down as I went to used the bathroom. I was disgusted to see that the person before me had not flushed (#2). As the woman sat down to put my feet into the water, I immediately noticed that it was way hotter than any human could withstand. The rest of the pedicure was standard fare. The manicure was terrible. Very rushed, no attention to detail, definitely a half-assed job. The woman finished as quickly as possible to get to the next person in line. It was so bad that I had to go home and utilize my own pair of nail clippers. The service was terrible, employees were unfriendly, talking loudly on their cell phones and at one point putting one cell phone on speaker phone so that 3 of them could converse. Save your money, go to Walgreens, and do it yourself. Simply terrible. read more

Best pedicure you will ever have. But I am often found here getting my gel! They have so many options, and I feel like no matter when you call for an appointment they can always squeeze me in. I am always greeted right when I step foot in the door and they will always remember your name... every one of them. Also everyone who works here does a good job, I never make an appointment with a certain esthetician, because I can't choose! I have been coming here for over 2 years and I can't recommend a better place. The prices are more than fantastic and they always throw in an extra little something here or there wether it's a little christmas present or a free nail gem. Is Simply Unique Nails pricier than your usual nail place? Yes. Is it worth it? HELL YES! When you walk in, the staff is extremely friendly and actually takes the time to remember your name. I always see them greeting customers by your first name. I like the younger staff, (Sabrina, Jessica, Bon, etc) they small talk with you and in my opinion, they do nails/eyebrows best. I come here with my girlfriends, and although it is a long wait to get your pedis and manis, its totally worth the 3 hours of pampering from the massage chairs, arm massages, leg massages. read more

i just watched the episode where the nail tech said "i hate this lady" in another language as she was starting to do her nails, it doesn't matter what lang you say it in, when your there to get paid for a service the word "hate" should never come out of your mouth. the tech should of just refused to do her nails if she felt the job was to hard for her to accomplish. After the tech was called out by the client on taking trash the tech lied and said in a sweet voice that she was just asking the other tech if she was going to do her pedicure. I'm not a believer that the customers always right but this is so disgusting that everyone who who thinks about using them should know about their " unprofessional business practices. read more

I absolutely love this place. Its my favorite go to spot for nails. They do a really good job hands and feet. The prices are fair and you get a lot for what you pay for. They also have a full fridge of sodas, sparkling water, etc that they offer you free of charge which I totally love. The ladies here are super sweet too and always recognize me when I come in even have suggestions of colors from my past selections which is nice. Most importantly ITS CLEAN! I've worked in a spa before and I know how things should be cleaned and how gross it is when its not so I'm super picky about the nail places I go to. They take walk-ins. They work quickly. I have this thing about getting my calves massaged during a pedicure. I always tell them it really isn't necessary (especially when I know my legs aren't shaved). My manicurist jumped in there and massaged away. It was love. My only gripe is that my manicures from here only last a couple days before the chipping begins. Other than that, the facilities are very clean, the manicurists keep their tools in a sanitizer closet-thing, and my nails always look fresh and neat. I have been coming to Simply Unique Nails for years. The salon is by far the cleanest on the island, and was just renovated a few years ago with top of the line equipment and fixtures. Kim, the owner and manager, is the kindest person and best nail technician. She always remembers my name, fits me in when needed and has even started doing my 3 year old daughter's nails on occasion I always get the dipping powder and she does a fabulous job! Im not so sure why this place has gotten such high ratings. We came here with a few friends on a thursday evening. Sincere there were about 5 of us we made reservations in advance, even with our reservations some of us waited over an hour for a mediocre manicure. ( my polish lasted 2 days!) some of us were taken within 20 minutes and a few of us were taken after walk-in customers had been helped. The people here are nice but when it comes down to it we don't want to wait over an hour for a manicure that wont last through the weekend. read more

Came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. This place is truely unique. They have a lot of nail designs that are really original. I got my nails done and shaped perfectly and added little white flower designs to it. A little pricy, but well worth it if you want to spoil yourself (my reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). I took a taxi to this salon based on good raves from the hotel staff and became an instant fan of it afterward. I had a M&P and got a parafin treatment for my hands. The Manicurist was so great, she made my nails look wonderful and clean. I felt relax during and after. They had a very nice, clean and relax atsmosphere there.
