This is a really neat coffee shop as they use a robot to make regular coffee. It would be a lot more impressive if it can make espresso drinks, but this is a start! Their handcrafted drinks take time, but they're worth ordering as they taste absolutely amazing. I went a bit crazy on the matcha drinks, which all of them taste amazing. I'm looking forward to trying the tiramisu latte next time. read more

AMAZING coffee shop. This futuristic coffee shop near FIT offers so many fun and unique drinks. They have a robot that can make your coffee! The barista here was so kind and fun to talk to as we got our coffee. We got the dirty matcha and the strawberry foam coffee and both were SO good. The matcha was strong and great quality. And, the strawberry foam surprisingly complimented the coffee very VERY well (the coffee itself was also amazing). I would love to come back to try their tiramisu donut latte or matcha cream coffee. Sip Coffee is a futuristic coffee shop near FIT in Midtown. I've been there once for their pour over coffee brewed by their robotic barista, which really knocked my socks off. This time, I came back for their new coffee menu: Tiramisu Donut Latte and Matcha Cream Foam Iced Coffee. I am a sucker for tiramisu drinks, and this one was the best one I've had. Perfect flavor and sweetness level. I also appreciated how precise the making process was. Our barista weighted every ingredient and struck for perfection. The friendly service is something robots could never replace. ＊Tiramisu Donut Latte $9.50*** Basically a latte topped with cream foam and cocoa powder. It was lightly sweetened, with a strong espresso flavor and a deep cocoa aftertaste. The cream cheese foam was rich and airy. I was also surprised it was served hot, making it even more enjoyable for winter. ＊Matcha Cream Foam Iced Coffee $6.99 It was a light and not-too-sweet drink as the base was simply black coffee. The matcha foam was too grassy for my liking. I'd stick with their coffee drinks as every coffee I had here was phenomenal (I liked their seasonal coconut coffee). ＊Cinnamon Croissant $3.99** ＊Butter Croissant $3.99 They offer a small selection of pastries, donuts and cakes to pair with your coffee. I happened to be working in the area of this Sip location and decided to stop in and try it out. It was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I tried the coconut latte and it was good. I saw they had fresh pastries delivered as well. The barista told me if I didn't like the drink she would remake it which I thought was a nice gesture. There was a minimal wait to pay and to get my drink. If you're in the area you should give them a try. They offer flavors that many other places do not. read more

Staff is the absolute sweetest, but coffee is on the pricier side. The coconut iced latte was very delicious but a little bit too sweet for my liking. The coconut cream was very unique though, and gave the coffee a creamy taste. It did give me a bit too much of a sugar crash after drinking, though. Inside has two cute booths for seating! read more

Starting off with the positives of this cafe, the seating in here is super cool, and the entire cafe felt a bit futuristic with the robotic arm on display. I loved the pod-like setup of the booth and think it offers a feel of a slightly more private experience. It also wasn't super busy, so it was pretty easy to find a spot. However, the service was a bit lacking. The barista spoke like two words (if that) to me when I was ordering. There was also little to no music playing in the background, so the vibe was definitely a bit off. On top of that, I was not a fan of their coffee. I've been meaning to stop by this newish coffee shop on the FIT block and had a chance today. I ordered an ube latte with oat milk. Sounded interesting. The space is cute and futuristic. The barista said, "would you like espresso with that?" I said, "don't lattes generally come with espresso?" He said, "well the espresso is additional but I'll spot you this time." "Um, thanks?" In all of my decades on the planet, and in NYC, I have never heard of an espresso up-charge for a latte. It was a nearly $10 latte (including tip) without the espresso fee, and the resulting flavor was sweeter than I had hoped and generally underwhelming. Glad I gave it a "shot" though. read more

Wow wow wow. Amazing. One of the best coffee based drinks I've ever had (I had matcha latte). Keep in mind their stuff hits you hard, I felt like I was drunk, and mind you I like my coffee robust and strong. This thing was super powerful. Matcha was of the highest grade. I also had matcha crepe cake to go. The place is super modern, the most modern coffee shop I've ever. Futuristic settings, including the seating space, and especially the restroom. I literally was confused at first if the door to the restroom was some sort of storage bunker for the employees or the door to another dimension. Once inside you will see the restroom is beyond super modern. This coffee shop just opened three weeks ago and so far it's their pilot location. It's right next to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). On W 27th st, between 7th and 8th Avenues. I can't recommend this coffee shop enough! read more

We came here for a pick me up beverage over the weekend, and definitely glad we made the trip. While we didn't have the robotic pour over coffee, it was still super cool to see the robot in action. The barista was also very honest in sharing opinions about the different drinks, which I sincerely appreciate to avoid disappointment. We got the French chocolate mocha latte, and no regrets - not too decadent and tasted delicious. Would come here again! read more

This place is seriously cool and the staff is super nice! Stumbled in here after dinner because we saw the robotic arm and were intrigued (also I'm always in the mood for coffee). They're a relatively new space and I could see them doing really well when the college school season starts back up. They have a wide variety of coffees and teas, but if you want the robotic arm to make you coffee, it's gotta be one of their pour overs. I don't remember the blend I got, but it was delicious. My friends also really enjoyed their (human-made) drinks, and we tried the tiramisu which was so light and delicious. They also have a 3D printer, which they use to print parts for the robot, but also 3D print fun little objects like fidget toys. We each got a really cool fidget octopus which is now my official desk pet at work. Anyway, check them out before they get busy with the fall school season! read more

New experiential coffee shop in town! This place has all the vibes - industrial decor, a space to sit and chat, along with warm service and tasty beverages! Now for the cool part -- for pour over drinks, they have a robotic arm making your bevvie! They also have a 3D printer which produces little trinkets as gifts to customers (which I forgot to grab! Sip Coffee is a new coffee shop directly across from FIT. It's biggest draw is that it has a robot barista who make all the pour over coffees. While it may seem a bit gimmicky, luckily the drinks are quite delicious and will have you going back. I went to go check out the robot barista, but the human baristas were really helpful. They have four different specialty coffee beans and you can order a pour over from any of them. Many coffee snobs love pour overs, and I think they would enjoy the brew they get from here. Before I ordered, they asked what kind of coffee I like. I generally prefer a less acidic coffee, so they recommended Haiti Indulgence. The robot barista put together the entire coffee, pouring the hot water and everything for the pour over. It took a little bit of time, but so does every pour over. I got it iced, so once the robot barista finished, one of the human baristas poured it over ice. It was very smooth and flavorful. I also ordered the passion fruit refresher. I had the choice of seeds or no seeds, and went with the seeds. It tasted very fresh and delicious. Honestly, this was better than the coffee and should be what they're known for! It was so good. It tasted very fresh and not overly sweet. They offer some baked goods, but I did not order any. The decor is a bit industrial and feels futuristic to go along with the robot barista. It was a fun place to visit and I would definitely go back - especially for a refresher! read more

Check out Sip Coffee if you want to try some coffee made from robots! I loved how sleek, modern, and futuristic this cafe was. The coffee was really good, especially the Ethiopian blossom one, which was one out of the four options where the robot solely and entirely makes the coffee. The Ethiopian blossom was one of the most popular flavors with a fruity touch to it, the coffee was also really silky and smooth. Overall, all the coffee here was really silky and smooth tasting. The refresher was also really good, I liked the passion fruit one. They also serve pastries such as donuts, cake, croissants, and cookies here too! I liked their cheesecake. The prices at this cafe are also pretty good, the pastries cost $4-$7, while coffee and drinks are around $7-9. The prices weren't too high. This cafe is also right next door to FIT, so FIT students can come here to study and enjoy some yummy coffee and pastries. I know NYC is going through a Matcha phase, but this is actually the first good (ok delicious) Matcha I have had in this city. It was made with steamed Barista Oat Milk and lots of Matcha flavor. Service was excellent and there was no wait. The atmosphere is also unique, with cool lego replications of famous artwork. What more can you ask for? read more

Steven gave us a tour of Sip and explained how his experience with blue bottle and other pour over coffee locations was inconsistent - which ultimately inspired him to seek a more reliable way to make coffee with robotics and AI. I really enjoyed their coconut dreamer and non caffeine drinks (passionfruit refresher). It was perfect on a 90°F day - quenched my thirst and satisfied my sweets craving. The coconut dreamer reminds me of a Chinese dessert (coconut taro sago). The passion fruit drink was not too sweet and perfect for me. Their robotic arm that makes coffee was cool. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. Everything was delicious and flavorful. However, four stars is an accurate assessment. I've had better tasting ramen with a more flavorful broth, and a larger portion with more meat at slightly lower prices. The food is good but not the best either.

I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner.
