Update. Well done Sizzler! Much better experience last night. My crispy bacon hamburger was plump, juicy and tastey. Fresh lettuce, fresh tomato, fresh onion. The meat was juicy too. It's a good sized burger. Quality bun too. The fries were ok, not stand out like the burger. $17 is not cheap and you don't get a salad bar. But its good sized and two light eaters could split it and eat well. Parking: always good here. It's in a safe area. The salad bar looked fresh and crispy. For nostalgia sake, my family and I ate here, as we no longer get have one at home. I had fond memories of eating here as a kid with my family and what I remembered the most was their crispy cheesy bread and their fun salad bar. Coming to this sizzler with my kids did not disappoint and all my memories of the place remained true! Upon entering we were met with a short line. I had forgotten that you order and pay for your food before you found a table. So very convenient because when you're done eating, you get up and go! After ordering we found a table and were promptly greeted by a very friendly server who confirmed our order via the ticket we were given. Then she asked us if we'd like some garlic bread. Yes, please! Ohhh, she brought out the most wonderful, fluffy, buttery, crispy cheesy bread that I remembered so well and it was everything I remembered it to be. Yummmmmy! Our dinner soon came out and what I like about Sizzler is that it's an affordable steak house. So knowing that, you know that your steak will be decent, but not a 5 star restaurant steak, which is ok! My son got a rib eye and lobster dinner and I, the grilled shrimp. My son was in heaven with his dinner. What 14 year old wouldn't be? A big old steak and a lobster tail to himself! My shrimp plate was so filling I ended up sharing what I couldn't eat. Although we didn't get the salad bar, I did take a look at it and it was everything I remembered it to be. I haven't come here since I was a kid but came back because some family wanted to go. We came on a Monday night and there was virtually no wait. I ended up getting one of their Smaller Plates - the tri tip sirloin 6oz with mashed potatoes and then added on the unlimited salad bar for $5.99. I had the option of either doing a one trip to the salad bar or adding the unlimited trips for extra money and in retrospect, I could have just gone with the one trip. I asked for medium rare and the tri-tip was cooked perfectly and was really good. I think the rest of the food was pretty salty, almost overly salted but I think that was to be expected. I did like that they had very fresh lettuce and fruits out and it was washed well. Overall, I think you get what you expect at Sizzlers. Food here is always consistent but yesterday was ridiculous with the wait time to order. I always check the time and it took 32 minutes to get to the register from the line....people were leaving right and left, the line didn't move. The cashier had one speed....reverse! As soon as I got to the register the lady with head band whom was walking around looking busy opened the other register which should have been done a long time ago. We get to our table and there's no ice....there was a sign on the ice dispenser saying notice.....great....my iced tea had about 3 cubes of ice j it and was warm and my husband was thirsty. I have so many memories of Sizzler as teenagers. Growing up my mother would tell me Sizzler was a fancy dinner and that I should use my manners and present myself in a respectful light. While dining, my mother would remind me to sit up straight, use the fork and knife properly and join in conversation around the dinner table and say please and thank you to the wait staff..... Little did I know my mother was just grooming me for future dinners and as an adult...I still find Sizzler to be a fancy dinner ( I know it's silly) yet I'll give it a step up from Dennys. Still has the same vibe as it did in the 90's, honest beleive that was the last time they actually had a marketing department. Service is still on point, the salad bar has various selections and who doesn't like prefectly square jelly?! Shrimp will honestly give your money worth and super crispy. Just bring your own sauces if your picky, because they only offer cocktail and tarter sauce. If you have a large family, sizzler is a good place to bring the family and tell the young children y'all are going to a fancy dinner. It's been many years since I came to this Sizzler, and I have to say, it really was not that bad! Surprising. I love making my own salad at the salad bar, and although the hot bar items were not great, the cold salad bar items all were fresh and delicious. I think they need to label their dressings though, as I had no idea what anything was? The soup was mediocre, but not too bad. The steak and malibu chicken was quite good, especially the steak, very flavorful. The baked potato was not too bad at all. The desserts are below average. The worse part was how freezing cold it was in there...not sure why they did not have the heater on, but instead ice cold air conditioning was blowing on us in the middle of December? I was wearing my hoodie while I ate and my daughter was trembling with cold! Food was ok, salad bar was pretty run through, low on pretty much everything for at least an hour, didn't see chicken the entire time until I saw an older lady whisper "pollo" to one of the ladies and she brought out what seemed to only be enough for her, as I walked up after and only a single piece of chicken remained. None of the salad dressings had title cards and they were cross contaminated with each other, looked to be bbq sauce or something in the ranch. The brownies were empty on arrival and they instead of refilling it just stuck the chocolate and Carmel containers inside the brownie container. The pudding looked like someone stuck their strong hand in it and mixed it all up. Besides the stinginess with basically anything good, the lady serving us apologized like three times for not getting us bread and when she did she only gave us 2 pieces for the 4 of us, but she apologized and was helpful clearing plates and getting us clean plates. One lady did scold me because one of the clean plates I had spilled cheese bread crumbs on it and refused to let me use it to get a salad, said I must go back to my seat and wait to be brought a clean plate. So this is Sizzlers? Granted, I've never been to a Sizzlers before in my life. I've always lived in cities where Sizzlers existed, but have never been... until today. And we chose this Sizzlers! We as in my wife and I--she too was skeptical that I've never visited a Sizzlers before, until now. It's a neat and interesting concept. It's essentially like a diner that serves classic American fare, but they have a mini salad bar. When I say "mini", I'm comparing this salad bar with the long fabled Souplantation (Sweet Tomatoes). Oh how I miss thee. The "mini" salad bar really has what you need. Various leafy greens with other classic toppings (including corn, black olives, peperoncinos, small tomatoes, baby corn, and more!) the salad bar includes pre-made salads, including pasta salad, potato salad, and other well dressed salads. Then you have the "other" salad bar with fried chicken wings, taco bar, and a pasta bar? My mind was blown, a bit. Oh, I forgot, three soups! Clam chowder, Broccoli and Cheddar, and Chicken Noodle. Add the ice cream "bar" and dang, why order any entree at Sizzlers? While I was pleasantly satisfied with the selection, I was not happy about the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially the the salad bar and taco bar and ice cream bar. Spoons of other items sometimes get mixed into buckets of other foods. Pieces of other foods sometimes get mixed with other foods and this wasn't cleaned up the entire time I was there. The thing that was really questionable was probably the fact that all of the spoons available to you around the soup or ice cream area are dirty... like all of them are grimey and stained. So no wonder they had plastic spoons available next to the metal spoons? Sus. Overall, not too bad of an experience. The number food selections... quite nice. I never knew sizzler had a buffet. Really wanted a salad buffet like back in the day (sweet tomatoes). It's not the same thing, but it's as close as it'll get like the golden days. Salad bar and buffet for value is 10/10 Soup & cheese bread is a salty. Enough variety to make it worth it (salad, fruit, dessert & a few other stuff). I would skip the soup (clam chowder was so-so). Salad bar is fresh but not too many options compared to back in the day (no Italian dressing, no broccoli) but enough variety. Solid salad buffet for value. Lunch time has diverse group of people (races from all backgrounds). Mainly senior citizens & tech workers were there during my weekday lunch experience. Not crowded & plenty of parking. I ordered take out to be delivered by door dash on Valentines day. We ordered the steak and lobster. The lobster was so over cooked it had shrunk to almost nothing. what was left was tough and rubbery. My steak was way undercooked my wife's was slightly overcooked. I was surprised that our food was sent out like this when visually you could see there was a problem. This tells me 2 things one they have horrible cooks. Two they don't care. A group of us came here to meet up for our monthly lunch. I went with the endless salad bar ($14.95). Everything in the salad bar was fresh from the assorted greens and all the toppings and dressings, which the latter weren't labeled. They also had potato salad, imitation crab salad, cole slaw, pasta salad, and fruits. When I was there, they had the hot bar with taco/nachos fixings, spaghetti and meatballs, wings with your choice of sauces, and beef with bell peppers and onions which was over done since it was under the hot lamps....not good. We were there 7-26-25. All 3 burgers were burnt so my grandkids ate fries. My steak and my wives steak were as tough a beef jerky. I honestly really like unlimited salad bars! They're so yummy and nutritious. For an extra $5.49 you can get unlimited salad, soup and taco bar! Pretty good deal! I ordered the salmon plate with veggies and unlimited salad bar for $22. The salmon was decent, a bit dry and plain. I added salt and pepper and it spiced it up. The veggies were roasted with again not too much seasoning. The lobster tail was pretty juicy with the added butter but still not the best of the best quality. I'd say this is a fairly decent price for the food. It kinda reminds me of hometown buffet but with slight better quality. The chowder was thick and chunky, pretty good with the free bread they give you. The dessert bar has vanilla and chocolate ice cream + lots of topping and banana cream pie and jello whipped cream. The stars are for being open on Christmas Day! Saved our little family cooking time, and still have a decent special lunch together. I like their salad buffet because of the mango and kale salad. I can have two servings of those, and regretted wearing a tight waist dress today. I used to like their clam chowder soup a few years back. But now that I have tasted other clam chowders, theirs have gone down the ranks. They are a lot of other salad choices, and then they have spaghetti, taco, and nachos area, which I rarely get from because it's a bit heavy for me. From the menu, my husband always gets steak, while I get Baby Back Ribs. They used to have 3 bones portion only, but they removed it. The 6 bones are way to much for me, even if I share it with my son. Their complimentary toasted bread is a hit for my son, even for me. Lastly, we also enjoy their ice cream. It's simple but it's good. The place is nothing posh, but kid friendly, and there are lots of big families having lunch here too, so it feels festive in a way, although can sometimes feel crowded and busy. Maybe this is not fair review since I was not too hungry. First time I gave 5 star review (Google) because Salad bar was so good. But make sure you are hungry. My Dad wanted to come here ( he eat more than me & Mom) but Mom& I were not too hungry. I was going to get the Chicken Sandwich since last time Chicken was cook perfect. The only problem last time was Sandwich had thick bacon was salty ( or sauce was saltly...would have been better if they put plain mayo). Anyhow, this time Dad want try Shrimp so I order Grill Shrimp for him. It is small/ Medium Shrimp Skewer come with melted butter on side. I recommend you get Bake Potato as last time I got Mash Potato which was not very good. Bake Potato was very good, comes with sour cream & butter. I wish they have Onion or green onion but later I went to Salad bar to get Red Onion and cut it into small pieces to sprinkle on my potato. You can also get Cheddar or bacon pieces from salad bar as I think they charge you extra to have Chedder on Potato ( like $ 3?). I was not too hungry so I only eat the Bake Potato as the Grill Shrimp was too salty for me. They should put salt on only half the skewer. I tried a little bit of the Salad Bar. It was Ok this time ( average). I really wish they label the Ranch or Blue Cheese dressing. I think one is Ranch, the other Blue Cheese, and one more is White Dressing which was salty. The Chicken soup is always salty so I avoid. My Dad tried Menudo? I think it is called that? with Tripe? so very little Tripe but good but salty soup. It also had hominy ( I think) in it. It look like Tomato soup but is super salty so dont get too much. They also have Taco Bar. This time the taco shells were super crispy..I dont know if I like as it seem almost overcooked ( I prefer soft corn tortilla). But the ground beef, sour cream, lettuce, cheese & salsa were good. I just dont know if I like to make them seem like every time I make a taco, someone is crowding behind me or waiting so I recommend going on weekday or avoid crowd. I went back later to get one meatball, it was really good. They also have ceasar salad crouton. Im not sure I saw ceasar dressing ( again, they really need to label the dressings or offer small cups for customer to try before put on salad). I think they also have sunflower seeds. They also have honey dew & pineapple. My Mom is not allowed Pineapple because she has bad digestion. Everytime she see me put pineapple she will eat it ( she has Alzheimers). Anyhow, it is great place to get salad just maybe next time I will try Indian buffet up the street there is another sizzler with indian food but I dont want go there since their buffet is more expensive. Went in for lunch and got the buffet for lunch. I enjoy the salads, fruits, soup and fried chicken. I've been to this location twice as of recent. Not to many Sizzlers around San Jose. The price is reasonable for all you can enjoy at the salad bar. Wasn't to busy when I got in after 11, it got busier with all the business crowd. The food is good. Server was friendly and assisted me right away with what I needed. She checked in often throughout my lunch. Had a great lunch! Belly was full and I was on my way. It had been years since my wife and I had been to Sizzler, we wondered if it would be like our memories or had it declined? We had digital coupons for free burgers, so what the heck let's go! Staff was nice, checking in for our meal was simple, restaurant wasn't super clean, but wasn't filthy. Though the main door always slams hard, which is jarring at first. AYCE salad bar was stocked at various levels, attendants were intermittent, kids were reaching in and grabbing stuff with their hands which just added a little repulsion. Our burgers that we got with digital coupons were super mediocre, and if you didn't use a digital coupon they were $14! Dessert selection was bad. There was a family of 4 in front of us. Two parents and two tiny kids, that were just reaching the salad bar with their hands. The parents each got a beer and their bill was over $110! I just don't get it.....There's better salad bars out there, and better everything else.....Just skip it and have good memories of its past! read more

Not as great as it used to be but- I ordered a 8 Oz RibEye with a loaded baked potato/ mushrooms / garlic bread--basic price was $22. Had it delivered with tax, tip, delivery charge. Etc - price was $40. Unable to make the trip to pick up was shockingly expensive. I had 2 meals - dinner last night and lunch today. So I'm justifying my actions - 2 steak meals for $20.00 each! Now don't set the bar too high for it IS a Sizzler, (steer clear of the stale 'nachos') but the spread is decent m, includes different salad mixes, they could probably use a mixed salad and some higher end toppings like beets or more imaginative soup (chicken noodle, clam chowder) Bonus points for complimentary cheesy bread +++ Also engorged myself with a 14-oz ribeye that was probably a Choice cut and pretty regular. Bonus points for gender neutral bathrooms. Bonus points for soft serve ice cream machine with 4 or 5 toppings. Overall about a 2.6 star experience.
