After our wait and walk around the neighborhood, we were seated and quickly greeted. I ordered a glass of mango juice (it was so delicious). I also ordered the Breakfast Burrito. My conscience would not be clear if I sat here and lied to you or fed into the hype that surrounds this restaurant. I am not a local and here are my thoughts: The people are friendly, they offered suggestions when asked, and it's not a chain restaurant. Because of this, I really wanted to like this place, but sorry to say, I didn't. After looking at the menu, and at what the other people in the restaurant had, I decided to get the Stuffed French Toast Pancakes with eggs, cheese, and sausage. Let's break this down. So this meal was essentially a french toast sandwich (with eggs, cheese, and sausage being the inside contents) smushed in between 2 pancakes. I thought the idea was pretty wild, and couldn't wait to try it. I quickly regretted it after taking my first bite. LISTEN. Do not get this meal. While the price is right, and the portion size is something that any hungry foodie would dream of, it will absolutely leave you disappointed due to the lack of flavor. The pancake was dry, no matter how much syrup I topped it with. The French Toast was a little better, but it still was missing a lot of key ingredients. The egg and sausage were both comparable to what you might find in a Jimmy Dean frozen breakfast sandwich or at a chain restaurant like McDonald's. So after this combo, you could see why someone might be a bit disappointed. In the end, I only ended up eating the inside contents of the French Toast sandwich, and the majority of the French Toast, but the pancakes were a hard no. Why you ask. Tried this place for the first time today and i was not disappointed. A great and friendly spot. The staff was amazing and the food was even better. When we put our names on the waitlist at about 10am, we were told it would be about 30-35 minutes to wait. No problem at all, we've heard the food was really good here. Outside by the host/hostess sign in table, they had free cups of coffee for everyone waiting outside in the cold, which was super nice! When it was time to be seated, we saw that it was sorta family-style seating so there was only a couple tables with 6+ people to a table. I went all out and got the PB&J stuffed French toast pancakes. It was nuts!! (Pun intended). There was a layer of pancake, a piece of French toast, and two more pancakes on top with peanut butter and strawberry jelly in each layer. We stopped in for breakfast around 9am on a Sunday morning. Realy cute restaurant in a quiet neighborhood. The place is super small, so you have to wait outside. They had offered hot coffee while you waited outside. The host was also the busser, so he was pretty busy but knew when tables were ready to go. As soon as we were seated, our server greeted us and offered us fresh, hot cups of coffee. The menu has a nice variety of options. My fiancé got the breakfast burrito and I ordered my standard egg white omelet with peppers, onion and ham. The food arrived piping hot. The breakfast burrito was the best looking breakfast burrito and it tasted really good. My omelet was perfectly done and I loved the home fries. Yum. I could order just a plate of those. I also got a biscuit as my 'side of bread" and it was so good. When we got our check, our server offered to send us home with coffee to go. That's a nice touch. We will definitely be back. It ended up being roughly 1.5 hrs. Of course not ideal since it was twice the amount of time but you can't control how long people stay etc. Once inside we ordered and never saw our waiter again. Tables who got in later and had more than our table of two got their food so we eventually had to go up and ask. Once we asked our food was there within minutes so guessing they forgot about us. For brunch I finally, after a long deliberation in my head, picked the Florentine Benedict. Perfectly chewy English muffins adorned with fresh wilted spinach, chopped garlic, and a nice slice of tomato. So my boyfriend and I shared the Brie stuffed French toast and the Tuscan 2.0. I love French toast and I love Brie cheese so I was pretty much guaranteed to love this. Fruit toppings were fresh. Brie was warm enough to provide a gooey filling. The Tuscan 2.0 was a standout dish! We've never really had a breakfast dish like this anywhere. The pesto topped French bread was packed with flavor and made an amazing base for this dish. Factor in the garlic, olive oil, tomato, and parmasean and you basically have your favorite Italian dish in a breakfast entree. I was NOT a big fan of the bowl... it literally looked like left over crusty gravy with a biscuit and some cheese thrown over it. They mention sausage gravy but all you got were dissolved meat fat bits and pieces. However, the highlight was my fiancé's meal. He had the Benedict with Canadian bacon. That was AMAZING. The Canadian bacon was not the traditional ham looking one, it was one hefty juicy meat! They could have been a little more generous with the Hollandaise sauce though. Since we had to sit outside, with our dogs, even though it says dog friendly on Yelp.... they don't serve. They say to go inside and order a take out. So from my experience, if it ain't a fast food restaurant, your take out will definitely come out looking like a piece of garbage. Was in the area around mid day and saw that they were open. Every time I have tried to eat here they have been full up, packed to the brim and an extensive wait. This day, I lucked out. There was a little snafu I had with the hot sauce. I asked one of the employees about hot sauce, and she said "yes we have a locally made hot sauce" I was like "bring it". She dropped off a bottle that had "xxx" on it. I happily doused my dish with it. I did like it, and I do like things hot. Come to find out, there are actually three different kinds of locally made hot sauces offered called Añejo. The one that was given to me was the habanero kind. Not bad, - very spicy, but again, the other two weren't even offered to me and my ignorance, hurt me because I would have loved to have known about the other two sooner. The middle one - a brown chipotle sauce - tasted amazing. I left the place stuffed. The coffee was great, and I support this business 100%.
