10/10!! Salmon was fresh and the salad was to die for. Very flavorful. Keep up the good work!

I work in the uptown area so I'll come here sometimes. Usually my experience is decent the restaurant is clean and the food is good. Their service is always really fast. Yesterday I got some take out clam chowder and a coconut shrimp bowl. My bowl of soup was disappointingly sad. I didn't eat any of it before I took this picture there's very very little soup. The flavor wasn't great either. Hopefully it was just an off day.

For an "order at the counter" spot, Slapfish is top notch. It was easy to order online and pick up. Quantities are large. I loved the fish sandwich!

Clam Chowder- some of the best I've had!! Loved it!

Fast service and great food. The staff was quick to help and brought out my food quickly. Only weirdness was that there were a lot of dirty tables with no urgency to get them clean. Still will be back!

The bowls were delicious! My cod was crispy and full of flavor. Granny's shrimp bowl was so good it was gone in seconds! One of my favorite things about this place is the variety of organic drinks by Tractor. They also have a good variety of draft beers on tap.

I have been going to Slapfish for about close to 4 years now. Delicious food. Servings were decadent. Take a look at my pictures, you'll see what I am talking about. Unfortunately, I will admit, I never got around to writing a review for them. It would have been 5 stars, hands down. But upon my latest visit, that is certainly not the case. They made a huge change to their menu. I will admit, I am not sure how long this change has been in place. I was with the work fam and here's how lunch went. I ordered Lobster and Crab Melt. I asked for truffle parm tater tots instead of fries. There was also a Lobster Roll with brussel sprouts instead of fries. A Poke Bowl and a Fish Sandwich. Two orders of the parm tater tots arrived at our table quite quickly. Small orders I might add, there were about 13 tots in the bowl. Two other plates showed up in about 15 minutes, the melt and the fish sandwich. My melt came with fries. I guess she just charged my $4.95 for 13 tots. The lobster roll came in another 5 minutes or so, with, brussel sprouts and fries! The three of us picked gingerly at our food waiting for the last order, the poke bowl. Which took another almost 15 minutes to arrive! The service was weird, our food came out in intervals, and incorrectly. My melt was, mediocre. Honestly couldn't tell the different between the lobster and the lump crab in my melt. Was there any lobster? There was a lot of cheese. LOL! It was just not a good visit.

A nice meal for 3 in a very clean establishment with friendly staff. What kept me from adding a fifth star was the overcooked ahi tuna (in a bowl) and somewhat overcooked grilled fish (in fish and chips). The flavors were delicious and the presentation was appreciated. We will definitely be back (this was our second visit, previous one was 2-3 years ago.

Ordered the Poke Bowl ($16) - very good portion size, good quality ingredients. Very flavorful, just make sure you grab a sauce for the rice, slap sauce is very good.

Location was great, the ambiance was casual since there weren't too many people it wasn't noisy. I could see where if it was full with people it would be a noisy dining. It's the typical now-in-Day decor- open open, metal chairs, rustic board accent wall. Child review- Lobster grilled cheese was really good it a perfect amount of lobster and was perfectly stacked I love it it was yummy also the side salad was good with the sauce. I had fish and chips and fish I requested was salmon. It was a bit greasy and should probably gone with grilled. There weren't enough fries to go with my fish. The tartar sauce was really tasty. I also ordered a shrimp salad with fresh cucumbers, tasty cherry tomatoes, cabbage shreds, spinach and red onions with the shrimp. I should have stuck with only the shrimp salad.

I'll admit, I was impressed with the freshness and quality of the food at Slapfish! My wife and I had always wanted to pop in and try it and today was the day. Glad we made the decision. I had the power bowl and my wife had the fish-N-chips. We were both pleasantly surprised by the flavors, the textures and the overall service. Everything was cooked to perfection and brought out to our table in record time! We will be back to visit soon!

Do they have a kids menu?

Yes. I believe it had a grilled cheese option on it. There were two or three options but that is the only one I remember.

My lasted venture with their eats happened at High and Dry Brewing. It was my first time at the brewery so I was happy to see a familiar food truck when I walked up. It was the one year anniversary of High and Dry so it was a perfect day for them to post up. I know that I like their chicken bite but I wanted something different and opted for the California Chicken sandwich. Upon first glance it looked pretty basic but I was very pleasantly won over by the sandwich after the first bite. Yes, it this is a fried chicken breast, but it is very lightly battered/breaded and is cooked perfectly! The chicken is soft and moist not hard and dry. It is also not a dainty sandwich, filled with cheese, avocado, mustard, pickles, tomatoes and onion so make sure to get a napkin. I cleaned my plate. Cajun fries and all. I'm looking forward to the next time I happen across the Blazin Barn. I want to try something else from their menu....if I can refrain from ordering the California Chicken again.

All staff were very nice and kind. Even with a small selection of beer, their choices are solid with lager, red ale, stout, IPA, a rich Scotch ale, some ciders, and some seasonal picks. For our food, we ordered The King's Fish and Chips (half) and the Brewer's Beef. The King's Fish and Chips had a big piece of fried salmon that flavorful with a nice crunchy breading. On the other hand, the Brewer's beef was scant in roast beef and plentiful with grilled onions and a sharp horseradish. While the King's was wonderful, the Brewer's was unfortunate. Overall, this was a mixed experience with one good and one not-so-good experience at a place that is inviting and fun.

The area looks old and poor, but near the restaurant, we didn't see anything sketchy. When we were leaving, we did see some homeless people at the main intersection, but we didn't see anything we'd describe as sketchy. We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. Five star service and food. I highly recommend Vick's Vittles and hope that I'm in the area again so I can try more of this delicious food.

Our waitress did come back to bring the coffee. Before she got there we were discussing the fact that the entire staff was new. She must have overheard us and took it as some kind of slight to her. Two minutes later the manager came over to inform us that we were being rude to her server and that she would be taking over our service. After some discussion my wife said, "this is ridiculous, guess we won't be coming here again" the manager said "well I'll cancel your order and you can leave now". We said we didnt want her to cancel our order and she just said have a nice day. So we left. Sooo not the Vicks Vittles of the past.

That first experience was so good that it kept us coming back. Yet, Every. Single. Time. We went back we had issues. Some of the issues we've experienced included: losing our order, waiting over an hour for our food, attitudes on the phone, and outdated information on their website. When they lost our ticket order we waited (not exaggerating) OVER an hour for our food. They didnt even apologize lol I'm not looking for a comp on food, but damn not even an apology? We waited there, in person, at the restaurant. Another time I called to order a muffaletta. The girl on the phone had no idea what I was talking about. Then she said there's no such thing on the menu that sounds like that. I get put on hold. I wait for 6 minutes then someone else answers the phone and says it's not the day of the special (they changed it). I call to order a sub. They no longer make subs past a certain time, but that's not updated on the menu on their website. We call and at times no one answers the phone. So we have to call a few more times to only have the phone answered by an exasperated employee. I can't keep up with Sergio's. Sergio's has left us in the dust lol I truly wanted to love this place. The food is good, the prices great, and the first time we went was so fantastic that we held onto that experience despite all the issues that kept happening afterwards.
