I have been to a lot of restaurants since corona and this is by far one of the cleanest. You can really tell that they take the time to go above and beyond to sanitize everything and to keep us safe. Being in the industry myself it is hard to watch people treat the staff so rudely and then try and turn it around on the staff. Today the food and service was amazing as it was my second time here, but I had to witness a group of 3 people first argue with the server about their drinks when he said that he had to get them for them. They were just flat our mean to this poor gentleman. When he returned with the drinks one of the ladies sitting at the table yelled at him that they were supposed to be togo. He apologized and got them togo cups and while one of the ladies could clearly see how one her mom was being she apologized but the damage was done. This poor guy, when he took my husbands and my order he was noting but amazing and walked us through the menu and what the new regulations were to make sure that we were safe. You could tell that they really cared and that they were trying. It is harder than ever in this industry to do our jobs and to see it done with such class and dignity is very much appreciated. This review isn't even about the great food but the amazing service. Some of us see what you are doing and appreciate you. Thank you Slapfish for what you do and keep up the great work. Always wanted to try this place loving seafood but skeptical in the desert. My husband and I decided to give it a try. There was a gentleman wearing all purple and I even think his shoes matched, but regardless he walked us through every part of the menu and took every question we had with respect and patience. We waited outside in the heat for our food as we still can't dine in and it looks like they are doing their best to set up a patio. The food did not disappoint. The portions were huge and we couldn't finish them. The fish was fish and I had never even heard of some of them but they were amazing. We even watched then handle people with no masks with dignity. They gave them a mask and said please its for everyone else's safety and that really made me think what these people are going through. The one person didn't want to wear one so humbly the purple shirt person said that's ok please sit out here and I will bring everything to you and take your order. Thats not how they are set up. You go make your order and then go wait for it. Just the way that they handled it was very classy and with respect to the hard guest and to everyone else. Hadn't heard of slapfish but decided to give something new a try. Upon pulling in the drive through at all the "corporate garbage places had long lines of people just sitting in their cars waiting for their pre cooked processed crap, if you can't tell we don't support and or eat at corporate places. We saw that slapfish while was a franchise was locally owned and came recommended. The recommendations did not disappoint as the mani blackened taco I had reminded me of San Diego and being on the beach. The fish and chips was light and crispy. It didn't have a huge thick over powering batter that a lot of places do to hide their crappy fish. This was delicious and I believe was "Hoki" and I might really be butchering that name but there was a lot of information that they had for me with having rotating seasonal fish. Then to top it all off the tartar sauce (which btw I normally hate) was amazing and not your typical tartar sauce, it was green and tasted of dill. You could tell that it was home made. Great food and great service. The staff was very pleasant and deserved 6 stars if we could've given them to them. Ordered the fish and chips and the portion size was huge along with being able to order and choose different fish. They were so clean and kept up with everything and even handled the extremely grumpy guest that just wanted to complain about literally everything. The poor young lady was just doing her job and this old man was just yelling at her for no reason. Finally the manager or owner stepped in to try and take over and he politely helped them even though they made the young lady cry. (more self control than me). when the food came out they had their own tartar sauce which was green and amazing. We will be back to try all the new fish that they have. Im at health risk person and have trouble trusting restaurants but this place was sooo clean and sanitary that I felt totally comfortable to actually eat on the patio. Then the service was amazing even through the masks that they're wearing you could tell that they were happy doing their job! Then the food came and I read the other reviews about "pricy" seafood but I'm not from here so I know what seafood costs and it did Not disappoint. The fish and chips were amazing and so was the traditional lobster roll. For you other people sending reviews saying its too pricy for the size you should go to the east coast where you will spend 5-6$ more for the same thing and it comes right out of the water there. Went in today and it was very busy but socially distanced and very clean. There were new sanitizer stations set up all around. Not to mention the food was delicious as always. The owner took my order at least I believe he was the owner as he knew everything about the menu and was very accommodating with my dietary needs. Even as another guest was yelling at him about a missing item on their dish he handled it with class and the upset guest even thanked him after he was done. I wish every restaurant had the owner working in it so that they could not only handle the situations but see how their business is sometimes run. The organic sodas I wish we could buy them in the store. Sometimes we come in just for those. Today we had the verlasso salmon which I had never heard of but it was to die for in the fish taco. Got some food togo as that is all our govoner seems to think is safe so apparently I cant decide for myself what is safe. I thought I would be at least able to eat on the patio. It was my first time in slapfish and I had heard great things. I was a little confused when I placed my order and the restaurant made what I asked for but when I got home I had something different than what I thought I was ordering. I gave them a call hoping for the best of maybe a remake or getting it made and I could pick it up. They actually made it and brought it to me so that I could have it at work. That is what I call customer service. Their food is amazing and even if it wasn't amazing I would go here and eat crappy food just for the experience. They have a win win concept and great people. We had never been to slapfish but had heard good things and also that it was pricy. So we decided to try it for ourselves. We were promptly greated at the door and were treated with respect and dignity. We had a lot of questions and they were all answered professionally and kindly. After we decided on our fresh fish we found out that they have these amazing craft sodas. Those were amazing...When the food came out the portion of the fish and chips was huge. The lobster roll while pricy was worth every penny as it was the best lobster roll that i have had west of boston. So if you are saying its too pricy then you do not know what good seafood is supposed to taste like and this is the desert. I would totally recomend this place. Hooray for a second location!! Great that I can go to my favorite place to eat now when shopping and out and about in the uptown area! Service is excellent, staff really knows how to take pride in their work place and will tell you anything you may want to know about the menu or their daily fish. Never disappointed, food is always out exceedingly fast after you order and though it is counter service staff is always walking around and will check up on you like at a sit down restaurant. Been here 3 times in a week now and each time the staff is amazing and friendly. I have had and seen different specials and fish each time i came, mahi one day, barramundi the next and then halibut along with all of the other amazing fish. There was also an delicious octopus tostada and i got one very skeptical at first but the owner assured me if i didn't like it then he would pay for it and thats awesome that he has is that confident in their food. Got take out here today from Slapfish at Winrock while I was waiting in the long line at target. They were so friendly and accommodating with my allergy. Most places don't go to the extent that they did to make me feel comfortable. The gentleman taking my order even went to the back to double check with the cooks to make sure that they understood my needs. It is nice to see that they are still using the environment friendly togo packaging. They haven't gone to plastic and styrofoam. Great food as usual. read more

I frequent the Uptown Slapfish location often. I walked into the restaurant tonight and the management had a Trump Rally on the large screen tv. I immediately walked out. I can't see why I would want to waste a good meal watching the vilest human being on the planet. I suggest that the management of the restaurant avoid showing extremist propaganda to their customers. I laugh when I see people that post their photos after they have torn them apart and or eaten them partially and then complain.I have eaten here 6 times and every time it's amazing. Normally I get the traditional lobster roll but they had a special crab roll for today that was just out of this world.
