16 oz ribeye and some pork ribs.
    Suzanne F.

Just paid $42 for a "certified" Angus beef ribeye that I ordered medium RARE, but it was more medium well than anything. I ribs were pretty good (lots of meat on thebone), but would be better if they weren't swimming in BBQ sauce. Really disappointed to pay so much for such low quality food.

Was out in the area and wanted something simple. First off this place is all vibes. Chill and lax. All terrain vehicle grub spot. Lots of open parking. Owners proudly taking orders and live music by them as well. I got a double cheese burger, large chili cheese fries, onion rings and a hot dog with all the condiments. The burger was on point. Fresh and grilled fresh. Same with the hot dog. Chili cheese fries were good. Lots of beans in the chili. Big portion. And the onion rings are beer battered or appear that way. All the food was great. The prices were good too. Expect at home bbq style food. My only gripe was that all orders are all taken at the front by one person. Which backs up the line and creates a wait. Not all too bad.

The Hubbs and I had an impromptu climbing weekend trip and had to cut it short due to crazy wind gusts. We decided to stop at the cool looking cafe, in the middle of nowhere and it was GREAT! It's exactly what you'd expect from an American cafe/bar in the desert! Fun decorating, cool layout, excellent service, and yummy, no good for you American grub. This is a must stop, enjoy and eat kind of joint.

Great ride from Barstow Main to Slash X!

Employees are all super nice! Food is excellent. BEST STEAK!... not just for the middle of nowhere either! Family friendly vibes and great atmosphere. Our go to when camping/riding on the main!

Taking in the shade, listening to the one man band, waiting on our burgers. Good times!

Great pit stop for lunch when out riding in our Side by Side. Love when they have live music playing, sitting outside with their unique decor. Always a good time.

Stayed overnight in their Harvest Host area and came here for breakfast. We had the breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich and both were very good. It is a fun atmosphere with lots of collectibles. A great oasis in the middle of the desert!

We just have to try it once!! Good people. Good food. Good service. We love the decorations and history inside. We went off roading from 15hwy Stoddard Wells Rd through the desert about 45 mins to Barstow Rd 247. We have been off roading in the area for a while this is our 1st time eating here. Definitely will eat here again. Good vibes here!!

The food tastes good. There's lots of seating. I ordered one of the burgers, and the meat patty was cooked just right had had flavor. I ordered a side broccoli cheddar soup, and the waitress said it was made in house. It did taste home made. Lots of marines were there when I visited, the AC didn't work too well, and the wait staff were pretty busy. I definitely want to return and try other plates. I hear the breakfast is awesome.

We came in on a Friday afternoon, around lunchtime, and were surprised to see that the place was busy! There are a lot of tourists that stop by - and rightfully so, as they have decorated the place very uniquely. We were told the wait for a table would be around 20 minutes, were handed a beeper, and were encouraged to wait by the gift shop. The gift shop offers Thrifty Ice Creams, other sweet treats, and so many different merchandise items! It was definitely a nice stop to stretch your legs and to browse around. After our beeper went off, we were escorted to our booths and met our waitress. It took her a while to come by and help us with our orders. I mean, it's lunch rush; the place inside is loud, a bit chaotic, and honestly, it just has a charm on its own. Their walls are tacked with pictures and posters, and I love the little fact booklet showing how much everything cost back in 1996. Finally, after placing our orders, the food came! We ordered grilled cheese with French fries for the kids, tuna melts, NY steak strips, and root beer float. The kids' meals were solid; they loved them, and the root beer was great and refreshing! I loved that it came first so that we could enjoy it on a really hot day! So the float was much needed. The tuna melts and the steak itself were really good, great even. The sides were okay - the corn that came with the steak seems like it came out of a can; the mashed potatoes were dense and heavy, and while it may be a great solid side, it was a bit too heavy and a bit saltier than our preference. The tuna melts came with French fries, which we upgraded to onion rings. The onion rings were delicious; we'll need a bigger portion next time! The soup of the day was clam chowder, and we appreciated that it was delicious. We were initially missing a few things for the table, but our waitress checked in on us multiple times and eventually got us everything we needed. She also explained that their dishwasher was down or having an issue, but even then, they got through the lunch rush that Friday afternoon. We finished our meal and walked through the gift shop toward the back of the diner. There, we found a duck pond with 3 ducks and a lot of turtles in the water who seemed hungry, as they approached us immediately when we looked at them, plus some neat statues and a stage! Overall, it is a neat place to stop by at least once! If you don't have time to sit down and have lunch or dinner, you can always stretch your legs in the gift shop and perhaps enjoy a thrifty ice cream or a root beer float.

(4.25 STARS)…read more Memorial Day road trips always seem to create the best random discoveries, and Pit Stop Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

If you're tired of the tourist crowds and lines at EddieWorld, I recommend this place for the convenience. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with fries based on the friendly guy's recommendation inside the order window. The $14.00 price was reasonable. Service was slow, though. I guess it's because he's the only guy there taking orders and making the food. By the time I took a bite of the pastrami sandwich, the wait was worth it. The taste is what you'd expect from a "typical" pastrami sandwich made fresh. I've had some phenomenal pastramis in my lifetime, and when I say "typical", it's a complement.
