Me and my boyfriend passed by on the way to watch a movie last month. We were full off popcorn so we didn't check it out, but ended up going this week after a movie. Parking is super convenient and it is close to the garage. A lot of options and they have a variety of different pizzas available. We ended up sharing 2 slices. I don't remember which ones, but they were super good! Some seating inside, but most people ate outside to enjoy the weather. I'm always looking for new New York pizza around the South Bay, and this one steals first place for me. We went to lunch and I was surprised at how well priced these giant slices are. My boyfriend and I ordered 3 slices to split between the 2 of us and it came out to around $21 which is such a good deal for lunch! We actually only ate 2.2 of the 3 slices since they were MASSIVE and filled us up! We just couldn't not try the ones that sounded appetizing. Taste: 5/5 They heat up all their slices before serving you which takes max 5 minutes and the crust is TO DIE FOR. I loved my Wiseguy pizza and will definitely be getting that again. My boyfriend for the pesto purple potato pizza (contains pine nuts) and he also thought it was delicious. We had to try the motorhead bc I'm a Detroit pizza fiend and it was lowkey the best Detroit crust I've ever had. It was incredibly fluffy although it looked very intimidating at first. Next time though to appreciate it in all its glory, I just want the bread tomato sauce and cheese. Service: 4/5 Nothing special and I think the staff is still ramping up. Quick and easy ordering! Couldn't wait to try this place when I heard about it. I've been to the original one is SF and so glad there's one Mountain View! We ordered the Motörhead . It's super thick and normally I don't like thick crust pizza but omg this pizza crust is so light and airy! There also taste like cheese on the edge of the crust. Super yummy. Apricot field -- a bit of sweetness and a kick from the sausage. Probably my fav. Wise guy -- also yummy. Super thin crust and crispy. This will be a regular go-to place for us! read more

Tony's delivers a great product again! Amazing pizza, of course the atmosphere is not as nice as any of his North Beach locations, but the pizzas are amazing! A friend and I stopped in before a movie and I just thought we were grabbing something quick at a place called "Slice Pizza." I didn't realize it was Tony Gemignani's spot until my friend noticed the name on the soda cup and asked who that was. Once I connected the dots to Tony's Pizza Napoletana in SF, I got way more excited. The pizza was great, no surprise there. I do wish they made it easier to know what single slices are available each day, like on IG or their website, but honestly, that might just tempt me to go more often since this location is way closer than SF. The ranch was just okay. That's very important in my book when reviewing a pizza place. The cookie felt a little small for the price and was just alright. Still, the pizza made up for it. I literally rarely write reviews and a bad one on top of it but the customer service here has consistently gone down hill and I'm sad about it... when I walked in today they had just put out a fresh whole pizza, which is my favorite type. I specifically asked the man at the crash register if he could make see if I could get a slice of the fresh pizza that just came out as I prefer fresh over a specific type. I have gotten Tony slices all over the bay, at all the different stadiums, and used to live in SF with the OG slice houses and go to the real Tony's restaurant). The man at the register looked at pizza and said yeah they just took that one out. I excitedly said yes, I saw it come out and it would be great if you could see if it could come from that one and not an older one. He said ya OK. I was excited! I even took a picture of the pizza smiling which was foolish of me lol. Since I ordered to go I watched the entire thing happen... He didn't mention anything to the lady who was preparing the slices or even try to ask... he just lied to get me to move on, which is super frustrating because I even tipped (on literally one slice) because I was excited for a fresh slice. In return I have one of the oldest slices that was sitting out, which is now reheated so it's even worse quality. Just tell me you can't do that instead of saying yes. I've been going to this location since it opened and the quality has gone down hill since they originally opened and I'm sad about it.. I love a good slice and try to give it a chance on the reg because I do so much in this complex, but every time (which is at least 2x a month since they've opened) I'm left disappointed. The quality and customer service have gone down hill... They used to provide the hot oil at opening, then they made you buy the small bottles, which ok fine and then they made you buy the big ones... I don't really know if they have them anymore? They also used to give out the stamp cards but they don't do that either... TBH they only really only care about pushing slices and making sure they make money. If you want a consistent slice I'd go to state of mind slice house on El Camino or Pizza My Heart which are the OG slices in the area anyways. read more

Came in tonight to try this out for the first time. We had high hopes, having grown up with Tony's in the City, and this location did not disappoint! We were greeted by the friendly staff, who explained that you can buy by the slice or by whole pie. We opted for 2 pies, meatballs on their recommendation, and 2 cannoli for dessert. The meatballs smelled like Sunday sauce - and tasted like it too. The pizza was fantastic. It was properly cooked through,brown underneath, and a chewy but tender crust. We ended with the cannoli. It's a dessert we don't often order out because they're usually soggy, but not these days they lean to the sweet side, with crisp shells and 3 choices for toppings on the ends. Chefs kiss. Let me start off by saying I love Tony and the hard work he's put in creating his brand and phenomenal pizza. This isn't a review about the amazingl pizza. This is a review about the terrible management. I have been a devoted customer of Tonys Mountain View since launch and have visited many of Tonys other establishments, Slice House SF , Pizza Rock LV and Tony Neapolitan in SF. Mountain View Slice house is the worst one yet. The management there is terrible. Why? First they took away the complimentary hot oil because the manager said yo one of the employees "The customers are drinking it". Now they're refusing to keep the pizza display stocked because again, according to the manager "They're trying to get rid of the older ones 1st. WHAT!? Story time... My family and I vist Tony's Mountain View almost every Sunday. Today Jan 26th we walk in at 7pm. 2 hours prior to closing. They only had 3 pie options to choose from that looked like they've been sitting a while. I asked about the other many options that were missing from the slice case and the cashier (older Asian lady) said they are only offering what's in the display case because they want to push them out. WOW! I asked if this is store policy and she pointed at the manager aka Dulce. I kindly asked the manager about the missing popular pies and she replied that she will not be making anymore pies until the other ones are sold. Dulce also recommended we purchased a whole pie if we wanted a specific slice. We pointed out that it was 7pm, 2 hours before closing. It made no sense. She repeated herself and walked away as we stood there in complete shock. As a fellow restaurant owner this type of behavior is totally unacceptable. We are a devoted customer and should've been taking care of. The managers decision to stop making popular pies 2 hours prior to closing and turning away a family of 4 is unacceptable. We ended up leaving and driving to New York Pizza off of Grant road. Where we ordered any pizza option we wanted by the slice, fresh to order, also a large half and half combo pizza, wings, drinks and a pasta to share. They were even kind enough to give us 4 complimentary ranch dressings and made sure our food and service was great. We felt welcomed and taken care of. that's a feeling we should have at any business we choose to spend our hard earned money on. I plan on following up with corporate about my experience and hope there will be major changes at Slice House Mountain View. Tony pizza amazing. The dough on the NY slice was a bit dense and on the drier side for my liking, though the undercarriage had a nice crisp to it. Service was alright--stern but true to the classic NY experience, so no points docked there. The ingredients on all the slices worked well together, which was a plus. However, the Sicilian slice was also dense and lacked the airy focaccia-like texture I expect from this style. It's common to reheat pizza, but this dough seemed either to have been sitting out too long, losing moisture, or it simply needs more rise or hydration. A spritz of water before reheating could help combat dryness, especially in a drier climate. Overall, decent but with some room for improvement on texture. read more

I REALLY wanted to love this place. I have been to the original in North Beach and have said for many years it was the best pizza I ever had. I was a little bit disappointed BUT I also own my own mistakes in terms of ordering. The vibe is OK. A little oasis in a sea of giant apartment and office buildings. It was kind of desolate but it was also cold and dark. It was way too cold inside however. I was freezing and I am generally never cold. The staff was friendly but clearly not too familiar with the menu or pizza in general. But they were trying hard. We ordered an arugula and bacon salad which was a disappointment. It had fresh ingredients but the equivalent of maybe one slice of bacon which was cold and limp. There were some lackluster peppers and a a good amount of fresh mozzarella balls. But it came to our table in a plastic take out plate with the lid on, which suggested to me it had been made some time earlier. And no dressing. We had to ask for dressing and we were given two teensy containers of olive oil and some sort of balsamic reduction. Like "Here. Make your own vinaigrette." Which I did. Fortunately they do have garlic powder, salt oregano, peppers and cheese so I made a pretty good dressing. But really! We ordered a 12 inch New York pizza. My mistake was ordering one with "sweet" sauce. The "Sweet Gino." I stupidly did not think about what that meant-that it would be really SWEET. Not for me. And the cheese (placed on the pizza when it comes out of the oven) was ice cold and not melted. It made the whole pie not hot. Again, I blame myself for not asking more questions about the pizza. I wish I had ordered a plain margherita pizza or really, anything other than the Sweet Gino. But I was so disappointed. In fairness, my husband had the second half the next day and he said it was pretty good when reheated. But overall, it was not what I expected. At the place in North Beach the crust is so good you don't need sauce or cheese. Here the crust was good, not amazing. I know Tony's opened not too long ago so I hope that they will work out the kinks. read more

If it's not too busy, you could probably be in and out in about 20 minutes. **Taste of the food, 5/5** The crust on the NY-style slices is probably the best I've had. If you opt for the pizza by the slice, available options vary by day and slices are pretty big. Overall taste was pretty good, although I personally would have preferred a higher density of topping on a couple of the slices we tried. Place: Relatively small storefront, self-seating, but they have tables both inside and outside in the front, so getting a table should be pretty easy. We only ordered slices during our visit so I can't speak on how long a fullsize pizza would take, but our food came out pretty quick. Price: Slices were about $7 each but given the size, seemed reasonable/expected. We got the 20" sweet gino (tomato sauce, avorio and ovoline mozzarella, basil, sea salt). This place really does live up to the name--the slices are massive! The entire pizza easily lasted two people two meals each. The pizza was nice and thin, and the crust was crunchy which I was a huge fan of. The mozzarella and fresh basil paired well with the sweet tomato sauce, creating a simple yet satisfying flavor. I can't speak to their ambience since I got takeout, but I'll be back to try more of their flavors next time. read more

Wowzers! My new favorite place for pizza is Slice House by Tony Gemingani! Whether it be New York style (thin), Sicilian style (thick) or Detroit style (thick square), these pizzas are simply DELICIOUS!!!. What is truly marvelous about each style here is that they all have a nice, satisfyingly delicate crunch. Did I state delicate? Yes! And satisfyingly so! Even the thin one had a crunch that surprised me. Not one felt heavy and oily - the thick crusts were actually lighter than the thin crusts if that is possible. My favorite style has to be Detroit - the cheese along the sides of the pan makes for a crispy crunch! "Delicioso!" Is all that I can state! Lot's of different and original toppings here, and the by-the-slice option is not only quick (especially for the lunch rush), but not in the least, cold, stale or lifeless - it always tastes freshly baked! Really wanted to like this, but I found the pizza incredibly salty and a bit dry. I stopped by to pickup three pizza on Saturday afternoon at 445. We got a 20" cheese, a 12" hot honey (with pepperoni and sausage), and a Detroit style Picante. Their location is a bit difficult to find, as it is tucked away in the San Antonio shopping center under an office building and away from the other shops and restaurants. There is a parking structure behind their store though, so parking isn't too difficult at least once you find the restaurant. There are a few outdoor and indoor tables for dining in. I arrived early but still had to wait another 10 minutes until 450 for my pizzas to be ready. It was incredibly expensive at $90 for the 3 pizzas and the taste was only okay. Sadly, I found it all too salty and too dry, even though the cheese pizza had a shiny slick of grease on top that I had to sponge off. The crust was crisp but to the point of dryness. My nephew didn't seem to like it much because the cheese pizza has a "crust" to it, even when fresh. I'm not sure I will return, at least not for the plain cheese New York thin crust style pizza. The Detroit style pizza was thick and looked well topped but I didn't try it because it was so spicy. The hot honey pizza barely tasted of sweetness or spice, which was disappointing. And it was SUPER salty. You can get individual slices, but they start at $6.50ish, which seems really steep. read more

Was looking for a great pizza place in my area and I was blown away with Slice House! It's located in the large shopping center where Safeway and the Icon movie theaters are. There is super convenient parking literally in front of the restaurant. There is indoor seating with three TVs that show sporting events. There are also outdoor tables. The menu looked great with a variety of pizzas including thin crust east coast style which I grew up with. The people working here were friendly and generous with the crushed red peppers. I loved both slices of veggie pizza and definitely will come back. My mouth is watering just writing this review. Haha read more

This is a sad review to write. Tony's Pizza in SF has long been my favorite pizza spot in the city, so when Slice House opened in Mountain View, we were thrilled. We've gone there many times since. Sure, maybe you can't compare it to the original in the city, but Slice House was still the best pizza we could find in Palo Alto and Mountain View. Unfortunately, our last visit on Saturday night was a huge disappointment. We ordered a few large pies, made fresh for us, but the quality just wasn't there. Our long-time favorite, Apricot Fields, was especially bad--almost no cheese, barely any sausage, and what little sausage there was tasted low-quality. Worst of all, the cheese tasted cheap and unpleasant. We also got one of the Rose sauce Pizza and it was bad. First time we are throwing the left over Tony's slices away, nobody wants them, usually people will fight over them the next day.. This experience was really sad for us. We will stop going to Slice house until things change. I hope the branch operator and Tony's Pizza management will address these issues and restore the quality we loved. read more

I got 2 slices one regular and one Detroit style. They were both the slice of the day. The regular slice was a combo and the toppings were good, the slice was hot, the flavor was great. And the slice was large. The Detroit slice was also large. But it was cold. The slice was cold and the marinara sauce was cold. The slice had pepperoni on it. I love Slice House. I think it's currently my favorite pizza on the planet. It says on the sign that Tony has won world championships in pizza and if you have tried one, you'll completely believe it. Their pizza is so good! Everything from the sauce to the cheese to the toppings and of course the crust is delicious. They do have a few other items but they focus on pizza as they should. One slice will likely fill you up but buy two and try them out. Worth it! FOOD: Pizza here is a work of art. The chew of the crust is perfect. The sauce is slightly spicy which adds a punch to every bite. The cheese is gooey but it's the addition of ricotta that is truly a masterpiece (I hope I got that right). The pepperoni is that kind that curls and crisps which is perfect. Just amazing. SERVICE: Quick and efficient and one slice fits in a medium sized box. The people here give good service and are very polite. And they get the pizza out to you quickly. COST: For what you get extremely reasonable. It's probably pricey compared to Costco, but come on. So glad this place opened up in San Antonio Village! There is plenty of parking in this area, both right in front or in the garage next door. My partner and I came on a Thursday, on July 4th. When looking online, you can only order pizza whole, but when you walk in person, you can order certain ones by the slice, which we did. At first, you may think the slice prices are steep at around $6-8 but the size of each slice is HUGE. My partner and I split 3 slices between us, and we still had leftovers to take home. Before serving the pizzas to you, they will toast it in the oven. We tried the following: - Red Top (4/5): This was the Detroit Style slice of the day. It is quite a simple pizza in terms of ingredients but delicious. The crust was thick but so soft and chewy. The cheese was melted perfectly into the crust, reminding me of the cheese bagels at Costco, which I love. The sauce on top wasn't too overpowering. I do wish there were a meat option for this, but without meat, it still tasted great. - Comforto's Grand Slam (4/5): Wow.. those jalapeños are spicy! I love the kick this pizza had but if you are not good with spice... this may not be the one for you unless you pick off all the jalapeños. The hot honey was more subtle than I expected but in a good way. - Wise Guy (4.5/5): The ricotta cheese on this was so good! Adds a little sweet creamy flavor to it. I also liked that there is sausage and pepperoni on it. It said that there is hot pepper oil but it wasn't spicy at all. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Slice House. Service was decent - it's very much an order at the counter and sit down type of experience, but the people working there were nice.
