Tried the place on a trip to Griffin since it was clearly the most highly regarded Pizza place in town. It's mediocre at best... and I'm generally a pizza apologist! Ok. Here is the deal. They are using the WRONG type of cheese. It is a thick boring, Walmart brand mozzarella. I even got fresh mozzarella on mine, and it was just like they cut some string cheese in quarters. You need a gooey and chewy mozz, not something that tastes like a Totinos. Most disappointing is how much potential the pizza has. I can understand the love for this place because the crust (arguably the most important part of a pizza) is bomb. It's a great, doughy while still being crispy outer crust, with a mid-crust that was maybe a bit too far on the doughy side, but fine. The sauce is layered well, although mostly flavorless. The toppings were fine (Pepperoni, Mushroom). They were out of cheesecake so I GATTA drop them even further from a 3 to a 2. It might be the best Griffin has to offer, but at this price, you might as well just grab Little Caesars and pay a third the cost. read more

Wow - we stumbled on the place while passing though town. It was soooo good! We had the jalapeño bread to start - a spicy cheese bread with garlic and dipping sauce. For lunch we had a French Dip which was delicious. Meat was tender and bread crispy. The veggie pizza that was fantastic and the veggies were fresh. The chicken curry pizza was my favorite. Spicy with many layers of flavor. The crusts are crunchy and thin - everything a pizza should be! Great place to have lunch or a casual dinner. read more

To say this is good pizza would be an understatement. The crust is probably the best I've ever eaten an the slices are huge. One slice is probably good for most folks but I always get two:) Beer selection is great a huge selection of craft bottled beers and several different tap selections. This place was for me ok. The pizza I had was as good as I would get out of the frozen food section at the grocery store ( DeGiorno ) The waitress was VERY nice the place was clean parking was tough to find with out walking a long distance. Slices pizza seems always burned on the bottom! Maybe that's why you can smell burning a block away! So, I've tried other items like the wedge salad or the spaghetti and meatballs which are both good. I work locally and have been wanting to try Slices for a while now. The first time I tried to eat there I called 20 minutes before they close to place a "to-go" order. No one answered the phone. Just rang and rang and rang. Drove over there and walked inside while calling their phone. I'm standing in the doorway with the phone to my ear and watching the employees IGNORE the ringing phone. My guess is they wanted to cut their work load before closing. This ticked me off so I just left with no intention of ever returning. You obviously didn't need my business too bad. A month or so later so co-workers were placing an order so I got in on it and ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni, extra cheese, fresh garlic and extra sauce. The pizza was pretty good. It was fresh. I watched them make it. Dough has a good taste, it wasn't greasy at all, and the toppings all seem fresh. The environment is a little run down and could use a deep cleaning. The lady who took my order and my money was not very friendly at all. Just kind of BLAHH. The price was consistent with the food quality but not the customer service. They should have paid me to put up with their crappy attitudes. The bathrooms need a deep cleaning as well. I'm take it that their snobby employees are too good to clean bathrooms. I dont think I will be back. Parking is limited. You have to be a little creative to find parking during the busy times. read more

Good restaurant in cute storefront in downtown Griffin. Our party ordered nom noms, salads, slices, and a calzone. The nom noms were absolutely delicious! Buttery, garlicky, fresh, hot, fluffy pizza dough goodness. I had a Greek salad and a slice of classic (their supreme). The salad was good, but not the star of the show. I normally order two slices, but those in our party that had dined here before assured me that one slice would be sufficient. They were right! A slice at slices is HUGE! I ever would have been able to finish a second slice--I almost didn't finish the first slice! read more
