I just visited Smack Dab and I have to tell somebody about it. Y'all! First of all, they have so many great options for all the difficult people like me with dietary restrictions that don't make sense - gluten free vegetarian. I was still able to enjoy an amazing super filling breakfast sandwich with vegan sausage which is unheard of in most places. They are doing the good work. Secondly, they serve cafe du monde, which has its own distinct flavor but it is one I happen to LOVE! I had the Marie Louise and it was delicious! The gallery wall had me hooked and the staff were all so kind as I made my choices. And, the most touching thing is that when a man, who was clearly suffering from some challenges came in, they did not hesitate to feed him. My heart... there's still good people out here... I'm forever a fan.

Smack Dab Chicago is a gem in Rogers Park! Gourmet breakfast sandwiches, donuts, and coffee with a side of awesome vibes. Love the inclusive options - vegan, veggie, and gluten-free eats for everyone! Food was DELISH, and the atmosphere's got that perfect community spot feel. Worth every penny (even if prices are a tad steep). Can't wait to come back for more brunch magic The service was impeccable too

Good breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Tasty coffee options. A variety of dietary options. Fun/weird ambience. You order at counter. But food is brought out, servers were attentive. A little pricey for what you get though. $80 with tip for 3 people with lattes and OJ. So keep that in mind.

What a gem! I have celiac (gluten free) and they had a ton of gf options! I got the strip mall bowl and an iced matcha and it was so filling I had to take leftovers! It's very refreshing to see a place be so firmly itself and its beliefs, with reminders about the servers' pronouns and political messages throughout. Definitely a community spot, lots of regulars and it's clear to see why. Expect a bit of a wait on weekends, but it is very worth it.

We had an impromptu brunch here and love a good shaded patio. They were okay with pets and the food came out quick. We ordered for two ppl and got Golden chai, Salted Carmel latte, The bestest sandwich, and The best sandwich all for $47. They have GF/Veg options available and overall the food was seasoned well and the eggs were fluffy. Plenty of parking options and seating inside and out. Would recommend!

Inclusive and tasty place for breakfast/brunch. Many vegan options and non-pork for folks like me. It's a counter service place. Place your order, find a seat and it will be brought to you. Everything is made to order. Modern pop hits plays on the speaker and funky art and witty quotes line the walls.

Got breakfast here on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. Definitely kid friendly, and the staff are super sweet. We got our food quickly, and it came out as it was made which is always a benefits when you have kids. The place is cute, LGBTQIA friendly, pro-Palestine, incredible. The food... very good, but I think I liked the vibe more. I got the breakfast burrito with smoked bacon, I think I wanted less egg more burrito ingredients like beans, salsa, something along those lines. It was more of a breakfast wrap. But a VeryVery good breakfast wrap. My partner got a Shakshouka breakfast sandwich which looked and tasted great. Lots of flavor is what I am told. My kiddo got a donut, tempered hot cocoa and loved it all. Great New Orleans style coffee, wonderful environment.

First of all, everything about this place is amazing! The food & drinks, the consistent mutual aid efforts, the moral backbone of the owner & staff, the community engagement & support, the welcoming atmosphere, comfortable dining experience, and more... I enjoyed a knockout spicy peach sammie on a bogo deal so I could enjoy one for me and drop off one for the community fridge! And 5% of my order total went to two families affected by ICE abductions! I also scooped 5 ICE spotter whistles for free to pass out to my crew. Love this place !!! Not to mention I once placed a large order and received a surprise free take-and-bake cinnamon roll kit that was absolute perfection!

It's not often you find a place where the food, the people, and the politics are A1-but at Smack Dab they've got that down. As a first-timer I got a free sweet treat, Mariah was on the speakers, biscuits were seasoned just right, there was ample seating, and the portion sizes were surprisingly on point. You've got a regular in this chick.

We finally found it! An eatery with a big heart and strong values and we loved every second of our time there. We came on a Sunday morning and grabbed a table for two. The best part about Smack Dab is that you can order at the counter and take it to go or grab a seat--super flexible! We opted to grab a seat to eat our cinnamon sugar dougnut, coffee, golden chai, and two biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Every sip and every bite was delicious and fresh The decor was eclectic and homey - perfect for Sunday brunch. You have to visit! It's a must!

these breakfast sandwiches are insane. everything is so fresh, the bacon jam compliments the flavors so well, and the biscuit is super soft

Tucked away into a nondescript strip mall along N Clark is my new favorite cafe. Smack Dab is a local joint with a lot of character. And most importantly, their food is fantastic! I got the special of the day: the Latke Bagel Sammie, a bagel sandwich stuffed with a housemade latke, fried egg, sour cream, pickled onion, cucumber and smoked salmon. Lots of flavor in a packed breakfast sandwich! I also got to sample the biscuits and gravy bowl. Yummy! Most importantly, I got a cup of Cafe du Monde coffee (my favorite!) and got a few fresh scratch donuts to go. What a meal! This place is legit. I love to see local places like this, cooking fresh and serving it up. And based on the regular flow of customers, they're doing it right. Can't wait to visit again. If you haven't tried Smack Dab yet, you're missing out!

Heard these were the best biscuits in town and it may be true. Ordered at the counter, which felt A little stressful with so many delicious options to consider. Loved every bite! You order at the counter and fortunately we were able to find a table inside. Our food was ready quickly and it was so good. Highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, and working remotely!

Great biscuit sandwiches. Unfortunately we got there late and did not get to try the donuts. We'll be back.

How do you handle cross contamination for customers that have celiac disease? Do you use different cooking space? Toasters?

Hi there! We cut our gluten free bread with separate knives on clean boards, toast celiac bread in the oven on a separate tray away from our main toaster... plus we change out gloves, pans, spreaders, etc. while there is no separate cooking area, we… Read more

They serve it for you and show you the cheese, the cheese is on the crust as a well like flaked. They have a two story. Pepsi products -not my fave. They have a bar as well on both floors. I make better salads and dressings! We ordered a large pan pizza which was overly salty with burnt crust edges. The cheese and tomato sauce were really good, but the saltiness killed it for me. The place was packed and very noisy. Not sure if it was quieter on the second floor. When you have lots of customers, it's important to have a system of checking the status of the restrooms very often. They were quite neglected. We often have out-of-town and foreign guests to host and show off our city to. We always include a deep dish pizza meal for their experience, and usually at Lou Malnati's. Always a great experience, especially the branch in downtown Naperville- consistently good. And Lou's really makes the best salad than anywhere! Sometimes for a potluck contribution I just pick up a Lou's salad, guaranteed to make everyone happy. However, our guests enjoyed the pizza and dessert; thus, I can give 3 stars for our experience at Pequod's.

Big bang buffalo- standard buffalo. Can't go wrong. Hot honey- pretty good, honey flavor, some sweetness Garlic galaxy glaze- this is really good if you like garlic flavor. I would get this again. Bayou in the sky- super super good. I would get this again. Hint of spice, hint of sweet. Carolina bbq- tasted like straight deli mustard. I would pass. The pizza, even though they advertise Detroit Style pizza, their take is more like Focaccia style pizza. They provide nice crunch, not enough sauce. Pretty airy dough.
