Two slices of turkey that was supposedly a half pound.
    H S.

I like ordering from Smok, but I just received an order that was supposed to be a half pound of turkey -- but was only two slices. I've never felt the need to weigh barbecue meat, but this looked completely off. And it was very off, it wound up being 95 grams, which is less than a quarter pound. A little off is one thing, but it was shocking that this was short changed by more than half.

Decent BBQ, loved the different sandwich options, although wish they had more options for pulled chicken or tofu since I don't eat pork. I got the pulled brisket and thought it was very tasty. Fried okra was also good! Mostly 4 stars because of the price to quality ratio. Also, just not my favorites type of cuisine as a non meat lover, would have loved more sauce options as well. Service was not the best, but also not a sit down restaurant.

Barbeque here is legit! We had ribs, brisket, and pork belly. My favorite was the brisket - tender and a nice mixture of meat and fat. The pork belly just melted away but it was almost too rich. They have three options of sauces traditional, green, and orange. I don't know what was in them, but the green reminded me of green salsa, and the orange reminded me of red peppers. I think they're all worth trying but my favorite was still the traditional.

Friend and I decided for some bbq on a Wednesday food was good. We shared a mixed plate for $33. Came with 1/4 of brisket, 1/2 chicken and 1/2 of ribs. Good flavor and meat is tender. Got the mac n cheese for a side and delish, also got the jalapeño deviled eggs. That is a must!!! Your order 1st so service was good and fast. Great ambiance in side the the source hotel great place. Had out door seating

To celebrate my 30th birthday, my wife curated a weekend full of experiences for us, including tasting a few restaurants around Colorado we had not yet tried.   Our second stop was Smōk.   I have been craving BBQ for some weeks now, so I was pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to the Source Lobby and the smell of marinated and smoked meat overwhelmed my nostrils. Similar to other popular BBQ spots (Sugar Fire), you HAVE to get it before it's gone here. Coming in on a Saturday night with parking being as bad as it was had us a bit nervous, but once we were inside there were plenty of places to sit and still quite a lot of food left.   Our only interactions with the staff is during the time that you order because everything else is self-serve. While we ordered the staff was super nice, attentive and helpful in describing the menu and what options to pick.   We ordered:   .5 lb Brisket .25 lb Pork Belly Buffalo Wings Fries Mac n Cheese   This was more than enough food for the two of us.   When ordering they ask you what type of meat you want (lean, fatty, etc.), which I appreciate because my wife and I definitely prefer a fattier meat.   Brisket - 8.5/10 The Brisket was cooked to perfection, the cuts of meat were delicious and the crust of the meat was seasoned very well, however, the meat in itself relies heavily on the sauce if you are looking for additional flavor. I personally like a saucier BBQ, so this was no problem for me, but if you want a stand alone meat with a lot of flavor, this may not work. The Brisket does melt in your mouth and is tender enough to cut lightly with a fork, so this fulfilled all of my cravings.   Pork Belly - 8.5/10 I echo the same sentiments for the Pork Belly. The crust if you will was seasoned to perfection and I would have loved to see some of that on the meat as well. None the less, it was delicious, tender, and also paired excellently with their BBQ sauce.   Buffalo Wings - 10/10 These wings were delicious. They were coverd in flavor and pulled a part with ease. We had ranch to accompany them and seriously could not get enough.   Fries - 7/10 The fries were good, (crunchy, cooked well) but they were a little more sweet than they are salty, and I am not the target audience for that. My wife really did enjoy them.     Mac N Cheese - 7/10 A good mac n cheese, needed a bit of a seasoning, but was creamy and hit the spot.

I was in Rino for a haircut and walked over to Smok Barbecue inside The Source. An industrial space with picnic tables and a full bar. The menu is a large chalkboard with variable prices. I noticed a sign about increasing brisket prices. The printed food menu does not reflect current prices. I got a Burnt Ends sandwich on a brioche bun with large sides of Ginger Cole Slaw and bacon topped Potato salad. You have a choice of sauces. I used their regular sauce first, then switched to Carolina Gold. You order at the order, get a table sign and the staff brings your order to you. Very flavorful brisket. It didn't taste salty. The potato salad was creamy and the bacon added crunch. The coleslaw had just right of ginger, not overpowering. They add a 2.5% Living Wage service fee. I added a 20% tip on top.

Delicious barbecue in Rino area. Tried variety of cuts and my favorite were the briskets and burnt ends. They allow you to get 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb or 1lb. Between two people I think 1lb is enough. Service was good.

I was craving a bbq sandwich. smok didnt disappoint. I had their chopped brisket with a side of mac and cheese. the texture, smell and taste of the brisket were all there. my buns were toasted beautifully with a slight crunch at the edges. my sandwich did have pickles in it, i might've missed the onion... next time ill ask for extra onion. I was blown away by the mac and cheese, I cant define it well, but it was creamy, noodles cooked perfectly and the cheese tasted homey. they have a bbq sauce area where you can choose your own from a variety of spice levels. they have beer on tap. inside the source. lovely structure.

Great place for brisket. I was only hungry for something small, but the entire menu wanted me to order numerous stuff. When you order brisket they ask you if you want it lean, with fat or both. There are a few sauces you can grab to accompany your meat. Only problem is the sauces aren't labeled. But the one I chose was just perfect. Friendly staff. There's a bar with craft beer on tap. Plenty of seating inside and out. Mainly community tables. Tables are also equipped with rolls of paper towels. Food arrived quick. Definitely coming back.

Visiting family in Denver and they suggested SMOK for dinner before heading to Coors field for a baseball game. Everything we ordered was delicious. Looking at the menu it was honestly so hard to decide. Presentation of food is so fun and drink cups are so big! Friendly and helpful staff. We look forward to coming back again soon~

Vegetarian review here! There are not a ton of options but you can absolutely put a smattering of sides together for a meal if you get roped into going with friends. I ordered sides of the Mac & Cheese and Sweet Potatoe tots. Both were delicious! Lots of indoor seating and a few outdoor tables available. Paid lot parking out front but it's expensive. There is free street parking if you're willing to look for it and walk a bit.

It's not close from my southeast Denver house at all but I make the trip to go here when I crave for good/quality bbq. Service is (in my frankest sense) solid and this restaurant has never failed in that regard. I always see the same lady manning the front. Her demeanor and speech are always consistent where her professionalism is her strong attribute. Quality is of utmost importance at any restaurant and this place is consistent in that regard as well. Today, I had pulled pork (about 6oz; by the way, you get to pick how much you want as you pay by the weight.) To accompany my meat, I got the Elote Salad and the Jalapeno Corn Bread. These created the perfect combination of balanced breakfast (yup, it was past 11am but it was my first meal of the day!!) It truly filled me up. The ambiance is of a typical bbq place. It's small and yet with the symbiotic relationship with the brewery right next door, the current space size justifies. The customers from said brewery come and get food as "eat-in" to take their plates back to the brewery to eat while brewing themselves up (lol!) Businesses co-exist/co-mingle/co-operate. We all help each other. I am giving my solid high five to Pit Fiend today. This place has my heart.

These cats worked at Owlbear, the former BBQ restaurant in this very space. When they closed, they decided to take the leap of faith, rebrand slightly, and carry on the tradition. Well it's probably been three years at this point, clearly they're succeeding in this tough biz! I used to say one of the quintessential Denver experiences was having a plate of Owlbear while drinking an OMF beer ( the neighboring brewery Our Mutual Friend). I'm happy to report the Pit Fiend and OMF relationship is just as strong, and the experience still remains a very Denver thing to do. Things to note: they are using USDA prime beef brisket, heritage breed duroc pork, and make their sausages and sauces from scratch. So they're doing things the right way, not sacrificing quality, and not taking shortcuts. This is important in the BBQ world!!! Low and slowwwww, baby. We split a half pound of fatty brisket, pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, and a cornbread muffin situation. Food was awesome. I was going to town on the brisket. Pulled apart as it should, while still remaining intact. The mac isn't your typical mac, but boy it's rich and cheesy. You can tell they work hard for the community. Sometimes it's overwhelming inside and the staff seems a little behind, but they hustle here. Tip your pitmasters!!!
