They're unlike any other snowcones!!! Some people say all snowcones are the same. I say they haven't tried snobeach. The ice makes the difference. It's so smooth and doesn't melt fast. Not to mention, it's HUGE and CHEAP. $3 for a small (which is not small at all) Here are some syrup recommendations for your next visit: - Sweet Tea (soooo good) - Cream Soda (I don't typically like cream soda, but it's different at snobeach. Sweet and creamy) - Coffee (my sister likes coffee so she loves this flavor) The employees are super friendly and helpful. There are some benches for you to enjoy your treats there but watch out for them flies!! *Tips: you can ask them for samples! I was in a hurry to eat so no pictures of the food today :)

Girls were very nice and quick with our order. We ordered small snowcones and they were just $4 each. My daughter came with a little bottle of tajin. There are seating areas with shade outside and the parking is massive for this area. Will definitely come back here.

The smoothest sno-cone I've had in ages. I get the pink lemonade every time - so fresh and the softest ice! Only $3.50 for the small which is a huge portion. Highly recommend and close distance to zilker park - I love it here!

Best value and best snow come of your life! I went here with some friends and we all got snow cones and sat on the wooden tables under the trees. Although it was hot and I was melting away, the snow cone was refreshing. Definitely an Austin staple. I recommend getting wedding cake it was delicious! I'd rate this a 10/10

DO NOT GET THE MANGO. It both smells and tastes like cheese. However the workers were super kind and got us a replacement. I hope this was just a one time thing and their actual mango is not a pungent mess.

We came here twice on our four day trip to Austin it was THAT GOOD! Not too far from Barton Springs pool so we ubered from there after an afternoon of swimming in the 104 degree heat! We had small snocones both times for $3 each. They were huge for a size small, can't image how big an XL must be! We had watermelon, wild cherry, blue coconut, and blue raspberry which were all delicious! I think what really makes these snocones so delicious is the soft smooth consistency of the ice and they put the flavoring on the ice twice, once halfway and once on top. It really makes all the ice contain the flavor.

There's not too much to say about Sno-Beach, except for that it's a delight. Simple but perfect. I love a good shaved ice (they remind me of my swim league days as a kid), and Sno-Beach is as good as it gets. Soft, melt-in-your-mouth ice, tons of flavor, and reasonably priced! They had a wide range of flavors, from classics like lemon lime and blue raspberry to more unique flavors like cantaloupe and dulce de leche. Every city should have a Sno-Beach.

Even though this is right by my office, I have not been...but we did check it out this weekend, it is very popular! Even on a dreary Saturday afternoon, we had about 15 people in front of us. The line moved fast enough but it takes time to lovingly hand shave and mold the ices. It is also cash only, but the small which is certainly big enough to quench your sno cone craving is $2.50 base, so me who hardly carries cash can even swing that. They say that this is on par with shaved ice you can get from Hawaii, so I actually was fortunate enough to be able to visit Hawaii a few years back and sample their shaved ice....and it is pretty close! It was a cooler day here so the sno did not melt as fast but the choices are a bit overwhelming. You can do a two flavor combo and then do a cream floater, or even have ice cream as an added topping for just 0.50 cents extra. I went with a weird combo of almond and cinnamon with a cream floater which I mostly liked but would try something more fruity next time. My mom got a passion fruit and pomegranate that she liked. The tigers blood was a favorite, along with the pina colada. Just be careful, there are tons of bees hanging around the benches waiting for some sugary leftovers.

Loved it here! There were so many flavors to choose from and the small size was plenty enough for two people to share. Only problem was the customer service. The workers looked irritated at my friends and I. Other than that, I recommend this place for a hot day in Austin. read more

Omg!! Hubby and I have been trying a new snoball stand every weekend over the past month n a half. Hands down....the yummiest! The sno is SPOT on. I got a coconut with cream. The line was long but went very quick! 3 minutes tops. The small was only $2.50. Med 3.50. Probly shoulda gotten a small instead of a med but when I was done...I thought I shoulda gotten a large. :) That yummy! We live in Round Rock and will be coming back often! There's roughly 15 tables, many with umbrellas. Highly recommend this spot on your summer day downtown. :) read more

This place sucks! Wait in a long line with bees flying everywhere finally get close to window and in a little handwritten note its says "cash only"! It's 2015! It's called Square! Look it up! All the food trailers use some sort of card system. Might want to reach out to one of them and find out how it works! Never again! read more

My "wedding cake" tasted like pina colada. And the girl gipped me out of the syrup. Half of it was just plain ice. Cream is good though. And had to leave the line to go to an ATM because they only accept cash. Not worth $8. read more

Whenever I lived in Austin there was this amazing snow cone truck on the drag. Since returning back to Houston I've been looking for a replacement and this may be it. Delicious and a great way to cool down on a hot summer day. Whatever flavors I choose I always add the cream and it's like the cherry on top. Delicious! Awesome ice and very nice staff. Ordered 3 small snow balls for $9. Dr Pepoer and Cherry were perfect. I ordered a pink bubble gum. There was so much syrup on it that it didn't even taste like bubble gum. Very disappointing. Nice shaded area to sit. Will return. read more

As a general rule, I don't like snow cones: those rock hard balls of ice balanced on a little paper cone with a bunch of overly sweet syrup collected at the point. Sno-Beach changed all that. It all starts with their ice which is shaved into soft delicious flakes, Hawaiian shave ice style. Its the perfect consistency to absorb Sno-Beach's delicious syrup flavors. Pick 2 for variety. I tend to go for a berry flavor and a tropical flavor ... but I don't have a main stay order because they are all good. Most importantly, add cream. Trust me, just do it. It's next level delicious. read more

Not your average snocone. The ice is shaved fine (its like comparing icecream to gellato). Hundreds of Flavor combinations. Try Cantaloupe, its my favorite. wedding cake with cream is great (but sweeeet!). Chocolate is literally chocolate syrup over ice. read more

This place is a classic for any Austinite and while it's not the cheapest or the best sno-cone/snowball in town it is the most enjoyable because of the atmosphere and choices. I believe it's still cash only which is a bit annoying in this day but it's a small complaint. read more

Had our first snow cone here today, it was very good. The only problem I had was the amount of bees that were around. If your child or you have an allergy, I would not recommend staying there to eat your snow cone. The heat is unbearable these days but they're awesome enough to provide umbrellas for shade. All in all I really liked it here. And the pricing range was really good considering the amount that they give you. read more

This has been my absolute favorite snow cone place for the last 4 years, but today, that may have changed. Not only have they had the best tasting, softest ice, and the most generous portioning of topping, they have the best staff. But I don't know if it's someone new, or if someone was having a bad day, but the girl I worked with today gave me none of that. As I watched her serve the guest in front of me a very small amount of syrup, I made sure to pay attention to mine. I made mention of it and asked politely if I could have more, no response, actually besides asking what do I want she said nothing else. After I found out the bottom 3rd of my cup was just solid white ice, no syrup, even after I offer to pay for it, with an attitude she gave me the smallest amount of syrup I could imagine, it was honestly insulting how much she gave, I couldn't even eat the rest. I drive 20 plus minutes for this to spend near 10 dollars, which is CASH ONLY, for 2 under syruped cones delivered by a hostile worker? If you come avoid the right window, she was wearing a red shirt and had big clear glasses? I've been extremely jaded about all other snow cone places, but since it seems like it's changing, I'll definitely be trying the snow cone place by Westgate Lanes. I hate calling people out this is sincerely my 3rd review and the first time I've ever called someone out specifically, but it's solely because that person singlehandedly has possibly lost the future business of a 4 plus year patron who has convinced numerous people that this is the best in Austin. I work in real estate and this establishment is even a part of my sales pitch! Maybe it was a one off, but time will only tell. read more

Great place for shaved ice! Easy parking and inexpensive. It is cash only, but at the price of only a few dollars this was not a problem for us,. Very similar to the Shave Ice places in Hawaii. They offer it served with ice cream and cream topping which is definitely the way to go! The consistency of the ice is perfect and fluffy and the ice cream on the bottom ends up tasting like a creamsicle, yum! read more

I have not had many snow cones in Austin, but those that I have tried have left a lot to be desired. Not so with Sno Beach. Their portions are huge, their prices are cheap, and their product is far superior to any of the other stands I have tried. My girlfriend and I were waiting for some sushi and decided to split a medium kiwi raspberry while we waited. The girls working at the stand were very pleasant and talkative and when they handed us the cone I was very surprised at the gigantic portion. I'll definitely be back. read more

History

Established in 1993.

Sno-Beach started as a single trailer in 1993. Over the years we have grown and bounced around locations, and currently have two local spots: 412 Sterzing Street (close to Zilker Park and Barton Springs) and 412 Guadalupe Street. In the off season of 2011, a long time employee took over as the new owner and has been keeping everything the same ever since!

Meet the Business Owner: Elizabeth N.

As an Austin native, I grew up eating Sno-Bech snocones, and always dreamed of getting a job there one day. The summer after my junior year of high school, that dream came true! Working at Sno-Beach has been an absolutely joy ever since! It helped pay my way through college and for my first car. After graduating with a degree in Polymer Chemistry from Clemson University, I returned to Austin with no idea what to do. Then, with a lot of help from the original Sno-Beach King and Queen, everything fell in to place. And here I am today, still working on the trailers and making snocones!

My server told me the most popular snow cones were (Rainbow - multiple flavors, Hawaiian and Pineapple). Went for the rainbow...Snow cones have completely changed since I was a child. Sno cones used have this crushed ice that you sometimes get with sodas today. The Sisters SnoShack has very smooth ice...very velvety. The juice for the snow cone was robust and enjoyable to eat. Sno Beach is SEXIST and Racist. Ever see a male working there? No. Ever see anyone who wasn't white working there? No. ...... I am going to ask the owners for an application, if they turn me down I will be picketing outside that very day. Of course if they do hire me I'll be a happy snowcone man. Time will tell. On Principal I suggest going to Jim Jims. The Ice is better and they put Italian iced cream (Gillato?) in the center. Not the stand in front of barton spings sometimes, but the store on 5th street. If you happen to be in the Beach area and like ice cream, make sure to walk into Sno-Beach Hawaiian Shaved Ice. His ice cream is absolutely delicious. It is not the cheapest kind around, but it is definitely worth it. It is not a restaurant, just an ice cream shop. Be aware on hot days.
