Came in on a Wednesday night to a lively bar and DJ spinning 70s hits for a drink. Enjoyed the bramble on whiskey drink which came with snowcone ice, as they have a snow cone machine on the bar which was super fun. Staff was super friendly and themed with 70s/80s decor. Atmosphere is fun, didnt get a chance to check out the backstage speakeasy but will be back soon. Overall happy to see a refresh on the old soho saloon. read more

First I cannot review the food or ambiance. I can tell you what 11 of us witnessed during the first 7 minutes upon arrival. Our group of 11 cyclists arrived past 9:30 pm expecting to drink and eat. We were greeted by employee #2 who told us we couldn't park our bicycles in the designated spot employee #1 had told us we could. A spot where there aren't any tables for sitting or standing. Totally out of the way for any arriving customers but in-sight for us to keep our eyes on without having to lock them all up. We were told by employee #2 to move them into the dark parking lot where the bicycles were out of anyone's sight. All of a sudden there were 5-6 other employees all over us! It was obvious to us we were not welcome. Perhaps we didn't meet the age requirement which is about 21-25. We are much more mature now and enjoy a peaceful place instead. We thank Soho Saloon for showing us their true colors. read more

A group of 11 of us went by on bicycles the evening of October 28, 2025. We were greeted by a young man named Nick with a security shirt on telling us to leave our bicycles out of view in a dark parking lot even though there was plenty of space near the entrance for all the bikes and it would not have created any obstruction for other guests. With a lot of push back Nick agreed to let us park our bikes to the side in the entrance but when we were finding seating outside we were then informed that Nick's boss ?Jerrell indicated he did not want our business. We happily left and went to eat at Izzy's tacos in the tiny tap tavern parking lot. It should be noted that Soho saloon has a 2.6 rating already and the place looked nasty loud and uninviting we will never be back. read more

A group of mature friends (30-67 years old) go on a bike ride every Tuesday night for taco Tuesday. We have lights on our bicycles and love exploring downtown Tampa, Ybor city, Hyde Park, Davis Island And More. We try to choose different places to go and spend our money. Last night, 11 of us pulled into Soho saloon that we have been looking forward to try for sometime. Before we could get the lights turned off on our bicycles we were asked to move our bikes far away from the outside seating in the dark parking lot. All the places we ever go have outside seating and we are allowed to park out of the way, but in eye shot of our bicycles. The first employee said we can move them against the wall, but a manager came out saying nope you have to move! a couple of other employees came out as well. We are in no way a threat to anybody we go out enjoy our food and beverages. We leave big tips as well. We were embarrassed to be basically turned away from Soho saloon. We headed straight to the Tiny tap Tavern with Izzy's taco truck out front. He definitely has the best taco/burrito food in town. We will not return to Soho saloon. Y'all should do much better. FYI, we probably spent $400 last night and food and beverages. Y'all missed out. read more

This bar is located in the heart of Tampa's SOHO district. I don't eat here but my friends report that the tots are quite hot, crunchy, and tasty. This place is great for dancing and the door staff is really cool. It's open now even with the troublesome pandemic. Disappointing how packed this place gets on the weekends though. read more

One trip to macdintons who then sent Me to their sister bar across the street, who said they don't necessary ingredients for an old fashioned, which is literally bitters, fruit, water and bourbon with ice well blended and measured to produce a well balanced and tasty cocktail. Beware of giving this place your card! I had an issue where they lost my card and mistakenly gave it to someone else. When asked for the manager, it was more of a puppet that just stood there and let the bartender make excuses. When I got angry he threatened to throw me out for being rude to him! Thankfully the person that got my card noticed it wasn't his and the issue was resolved without the useless managers help. Marissa was a fantastic server but unfortunately with the way the other bartender and the manager acted it has led to this low rating. Busy! It's to be expected on a Sat. afternoon. A lot of young people, mostly a large college crowd, but everyone was well-behaved. Very tightly packed in the patio section, so getting a table or seat in the bar area would def. Be a challenge...lots of people standing as a result. They did have a really good deal that day - $12 for a bottle of Cupcake Prosecco & irresistibly good considering I'd paid $12/glass for a 6 oz. pour of Sauvignon Blanc at Brio. My hubs got two orders of Gin & Tonic - fine, not really worth paying $22 including $4/tip. Parking is no bueno & bad - very small lot, so try the Chipotle across the street, which is in a bigger plaza! read more

Reminded me of my early college days of a place to get warmed up and wasted for cheap. Fun to people watch attractive young women in overly tight clothing and guys acting like idiots trying to impress them (usually wearing typical backward baseball cap). I am always comfortable in any group, and no different here. Had my two crown & coke drink specials in a plastics cup while waiting to meet friends. Although the place was packed, the service was decent from the cheerful young lady bartenders. Not too keen on sitting at a sticky bar that is wiped only once a day, at the end of the night. We sat at an open table and waited for a few minutes. So then i went and stood at the bar wanting to ask a question about service on the patio. A girl walked right pass me to a guy behind the bar. He pointed told her to assist me and pointed my way. She looked back at me and rolled her eyes. The only assumption I could come up with is that I am black accompanied by a table full of black women. It's 2021 and very disappointing this is still the case. This woman, who was not busy at all, clearly did not want to serve me, us, or black people. Terrible. This place is sexist as all get out. one of their dress code rules is "no sleeveless shirts after 8pm". it states nothing about gender/sex. the security let in multiple women wearing tube tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps without issue, but would not let in my male friend wearing a tank top. when I asked to speak with a manager they refused. they wouldn't explain it and said it only applies to men, even though the giant sign they have right next to the entrance had zero indication about the rule being applicable to solely one gender/sex. read more

Went there to enjoy a night out with friends. The bouncer pushed myself and my friends multiple times instead of simply asking us to move/slide. After I asked him to not put his hands on customers, they continued to shove us. All 8 of us left with a sour taste, disappointment in the staff and no desire to ever visit such an aggressive and unprofessional environment. Drinks were also sub par and we were overcharged when we ordered singles vs doubles. Bouncers need more training regarding non violent communication. I was disgusted by the way my party and myself were treated and will ensure that anyone I speak with will know not to visit this crappy establishment again. read more

Hey, first time in Soho I have heard horrible reviews form the young ones. Yet I decided to give it a try. Any how if your not a man and big muscles don't come here. My hair was in the guy next to me and it was a problem he had two empty seats next to his girlfriend and I was more than willing to move over but again the manager was a man muscular and he was to intimated to let his own kind to move over. I was charged 90$ for drinks I didn't consume. I was allowed to order drinks for 4 people on that tight area. But because they got next to me complained about my hair I was asked to leave. Then he took my drinks and I let him know I will not be paying for this drinks, this is it fair. He said well I'm charging you. This is 4:00pm in the afternoon and I called my bank immediately. This was the most racial profile I have ever received from someone who didn't have the management skills to diffuse the situation we are not your young people. Bouncers are completely untrained with being able to tell the difference between a fake and a real ID. My 23 year old friend got her out of state REAL license taken, and the bouncer refused to give it back. He was rude and also noticed his eyes wandering onto us. I don't think I can say enough wonderful things about the renovation here. It is the one bar in South Tampa with LOADS of space, air conditioned, bright and clean. The non-profit I help hosted an event with Soho Saloon this past weekend and it was one of the best restaurants/bars I have worked with. The staff was friendly to everyone whether it was a patron or those of us trying to work the event. HUGE selection of drinks and really good food! I was surprised to know how much they offered and the service was quick and the food was hot! So, after spending 80 dollars at the bar, the bouncer tells me 5 minutes before the McGregor fight that I had too much to drink and I had to leave. There was a huge line outside, so obviously he was trying to make more room to bring one of his friends in. Sad way to help out your friends by turning your back on people that are helping your bartenders and waitresses make extra money during these times. Go either across the street or simply stay home.
