Stopped by Solid Coffee Roasters for the first time and tried the Blueberry Maple, Matcha Tropic, and Matcha Meadow, along with an almond croissant. The Blueberry Maple was solid and pretty good, while the other two matcha drinks were just okay. The almond croissant, though, was really good--flaky, fresh, and flavorful. I also really liked the ambience of the shop; it's a cozy spot I'd definitely come back to for studying or hanging out. The barista was kind enough to let me know the matcha would take a bit longer to whisk, which I appreciated. Overall, a nice experience with room for improvement on the drinks! read more

Nice place, two story, a lot of room upstairs to sit and work on your personal/school/work/ etc. I ordered a chai tea latte with oat milk. It was okay, a little heavy on the milk. I appreciated the outlets that allow you to charge your electronics. The place is also clean and well organized. The only thing I would say to keep in mind is that the music is loud and upbeat; so it might not be the best place to study if you have to concentrate. Another downside to this location is the parking. You only get two hour parking and you're lucky if you find an open parking spot. read more

Coffee shop with a wide selection of interesting drinks and a well-designed space. The counter's conveniently located right up front if you're grabbing something to go, but there's also a spacious seating area upstairs if you want to hang out for a bit. I tried the goguma latte from their seasonal menu which had a touch of bitterness and depth, but that seemed to mask some of the more complex flavors it could've brought out. The sweet potato came through more as a light aftertaste than a main note. Probably worth sticking to their regular favorites, which seem to be what most customers come back for. read more

So glad another coffee shop is here in HB with so many creative drink options! I absolutely love that they make their syrups IN HOUSE. They offer plenty of both coffee and matcha options, so highly recommend taking your time with the menu and coming back to try everything! Banana Latte 10/10 - You can taste the real banana in the syrup. Goguma latte 7/10 - The sweet potato flavor was not strong at all. Preferred the banana much more! Blueberry pancake Latte 10/10 - blueberry flavor was super strong so we loved it! Win the day 7/10 - Pretty average! Good if you're looking for something sweet and strong in a latte, but not great if you are a viet coffee fanatic. I came when they had fall seasonal drinks and tried the goguma latte. Personally, the goguma didn't taste too strong and was just a sweet drink to me though I still enjoyed the coffee portion. There was an upstairs for people to study and work which I thought was nice. read more

This is a SOLID coffee place. You can tell there is passion in what they do. The locally roast their beans in Artesia. House made sauces in all their drinks. You can taste the FRESHNESS. I love how it is not overly sweet (1-5 ratio) and you can truly taste the flavors without all of the ridiculous amounts of sugar, which is very hard to do/find. The manager is passionate in what he does and took the time to talk to us even though he was about to close. I got the PSL and I love how you can truly taste the flavors. Very good balance and the cream cheese cold foam brings out the natural flavor of the pumpkin. It was good enough that we made a u turn right back into the store to try their strawberry matcha. The strawberry matcha is good! You can taste the ceremonial matcha and they do not skimp out on the amount of matcha used. It is a very nice balance from matcha to strawberry. If you want a solid coffee/matcha place that cares about the quality of their drinks without giving you diabetes, definitely give this place a try. Definitely will be back to try their blueberry maple! read more

They were solid. Pun intended. I tried both the cold brew and the drip and both were delicious. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because I personally like mine super strong tasting and they were strong. Just not abnormally like I prefer. But the taste was great. And I can't say enough about the staff. Everyone who works there was very helpful and kind and the main reason that I would come back besides the coffee. read more

Each drink is a different experience, from matcha to the varieties of coffee you find there. I like the quality of the products, especially the croissants. my current favorite coffee shop at the moment !! the workers here are super nice and sometimes would strike up a conversation or compliment your fit. there is always a lot of seating upstairs and plenty of outlets. the wifi works great too! i loved the lighting and overall attention to detail. only downside is sometimes parking get packed. the coffee and matchas ive had so far were all really good, they have so many special flavors it gets hard to choose 1! read more

I came in here a bit before closing , I was in the area and found this place on yelp. I saw a review that said their order was messed up a few times , it made me a bit nervous but every other review outweighed this single bad one , upon entering the shop I was greeted with warm welcomes ! They gave me multiple different drink recommendations and were so accommodating to my dairy allergy. They got my drink out in less than 2 minutes, fastest service ever! I would highly recommend this shop if you are looking for delicious coffee/matcha and baristas that listen and get your order down to the T! It's a cute little coffee spot next to Loft Hawaiian and near Rol Handbar. The coffee its self was pretty good and wasn't too sweet and didn't need any modifications. They have solid coffee! I've had the blueberry pancakes and the strawberry shortcake and both were really good. The coffee is smooth, just sweet enough and the iced coffees are served with a large cube of ice so it doesn't water your drink down. They have a large upstairs seating area peridot studying or enjoying your cup. read more

This coffee shop was recommended to be on our list of great OC coffee houses. The location is adorable and very clean with friendly staff. Always looking for a place with quality beans. Was able to pick up some great specialty coffee beans to brew at home. The selection was great and all freshly roasted! I love the packaging too! I also got some drinks with friends and it's definitely my new favorite coffee and matcha spot in OC. All the syrups were made fresh and nothing was overly sweet. It was my fiance and I's first time trying this spot. We normally always choose the item with banana flavoring so we decided to try the groovy gorilla. We were disappointed by the taste of the coffee. The drink had no coffee taste and it just tasted like peanut butter with milk which over powered the drink. There was no banana flavor whatsoever which was disappointing. I don't recommend it. There others drinks may be good I just haven't tried but first impression was not the best. That is the only reason I am giving a 3 star since I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. read more

The PSL is sooooo yummy! Pumpkin syrup is house made, in fact every single syrup is house made which truly tells me they care about making good coffee. the drinks here are good and pretty consistent and the seating/ ambience is nice, free wifi, and many outlets which makes this place is perfect for studying! so far, i've had the: blueberry maple matcha (6/10): overwhelming blueberry flavor and not enough matcha flavor but i think it's because the type they use just has a mild flavor peel me a latte (7/10): good but if you don't like chunky banana cream this isn't for you and i will say the banana doesn't taste ripe enough strawberry shortcake (9/10): so good you can taste the strawberry through the coffee and it's actually not too sweet crème-bru-latte (7.5/10): VERY sweet but i like how the brûléed sugar adds to the latte the matcha here is sweet, creamy, and floral if that's what you prefer. the drinks here are pretty sweet by default so definitely keep that in mind when ordering. the barista named anh is so sweet and made our drinks quickly! i would 100% come back again read more

For years I've been going to the dentist down the street and was so bummed to find that the little tea spot that also sold coffee, was CLOSED! To my delight, a new, super solid, replacement rolled in. Solid coffee ! I was going to the other place anyway just for coffee after the dentist (my dentist loves scrubbing away those coffee stains lol) and now I get to experience something even better! I ordered the iced creme brulee coffee with oat milk and wow was it delicious. I like the touch of the huge square ice cubes, feels like I'm at an expensive craft bar but instead I get no hang over the next day! You can tell that each drink truly is crafted with care and precision. The service was of course, amazing, and I will definitely be back! Absolutely amazing experience!! To start, the space is beautiful and clean, I love the aesthetic. The employees there were nothing but helpful and kind. Justin the manager was so helpful in explaining all the drinks to me and helping me narrow down what I wanted. Lastly, the coffee, chefs kiss!! I ordered the espresso tonic and it was nothing but amazing! The pull on the coffee was perfect! No bitterness or anything. Solid is finally in HB, now I don't have to drive all the way to artesia for one of my favorite coffee spots! The matcha is always spot on here definitely spot on! The staff was incredible and great, right as I walked in allow me to feel so welcome! With this being a 2 story building it allows me to have a new study spot or a new hangout space with my friends. I was also able to meet the both the owner Dan and general manager Justin and they were nothing but kind! Definitely will be bring all my friends here! read more

solidcoffeehb is a brand new 2-story cafe in hb! currently soft opening, but they have such a cool aesthetic paired with yummy drinks and food! out of what we got, our favorites were the banana matcha and the strawberry cheesecake latte (not shown ) as well as the ham and cheese croissant hands down, the best part of this cafe is the environment. it's such a nice space to study, with so many seats! everyone on the top floor is locked in so it even keeps you away from a lot of the flow of customers going in and out. i highly highly recommend and will def be adding this to my study cafe rotation!! read more

As a matcha drink it was great, and the salted coconut cream was okay, but I found the flavor to replicate the mango sticky rice to be lacking for my preference. I can understand why it is popularly known so although it's not for me, doesn't mean that the drink isn't worth a try for someone else. I think this is a beautiful cafe, worth it if you're in the area to try and see if you'll find something you'll enjoy!

Love to see places serving co-ferments. I don't think it's over-played in specialty coffee, and I do appreciate having the option! The workers are really nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I tried their Earl Grey Matcha Latte, and it's honestly one of the best I've had. Not many places offer this combination, so whenever I see it on a menu, I have to try it. What I really liked about this one is how well balanced it is. The earl grey is light enough that it doesn't overpower the matcha, so you can actually taste both flavors clearly without one taking over the other. The Hojicha Vanilla Cream Latte was also really good. The cream on top was silky, smooth, and rich, adding a nice layer of sweetness that paired well with the roasted, nutty flavor of the hojicha. It made the drink feel really comforting and well put together.
