    Steak bowl, fresh vegetables, kimchi
    Michael L.

Almost closing time, 945pm on a Sunday night and wanted a light snack in NYC. Came upon this nondescript place on a corner in Chelsea and was pleasantly surprised. Asian-ish, well prepared vegetable sides with very good grilled protein that may have been flank steak. Very flavorful, fresh, crisp vegetables, steak medium, not tough, but toothsome. All preparations were well seasoned. Carlos, behind the counter was professional and courteous, asking if we had any food allergies. Wow, the new New York City, this could work.

The service here was quick because it was Subway-style. My boyfriend had questions about the steak because he was just curious and liked the steak, and the staff was friendly and helpful talking to him about the steak. The space was clean, quiet, and it was the perfect place to grab a quick meal. They also played K-pop. The Grilled Lemongrass Chicken was slightly dry, but I liked the flavor. I liked the Sweet Potatoes, and while they were soggy, I got hints of the previous crispiness it had when it was fresher. The Cucumbers were good but nothing special. They didn't have much of a kick, but they did have flavor. The Fried Tofu tasted like it was coated with curry powder. While the flavor was unmatched when paired with the Scallion Chimichurri, I quickly got tired of the flavor, likely just because I was hoping the tofu would be Taiwanese salt and pepper style. The brown rice was okay, not that rice is typically the highlight of a meal. As a white or fried rice fan, my opinion is biased and I found it lacking. I also tried the Korean Chili Aioli, which I liked but didn't find that it paired that well with anything I ordered.

Pretty good on the flavors . It's almost like the Asian Version of chipotle . I would definitely go back and try something else

This has got to be one of my favorite take out places in New York. The exterior is noticeable and has a great location in Chelsea. The glass windows are very transparent and the store front isn't too big. Walking in, you walk through a line where you place your order and they put it in your bowl for you. This reminds me of Chipotle but Asian style dishes and ingredients used. Overall, everything moved very quickly and I was excited to assemble my bowl. The portions are definitely on the decent size and the juices on the food definitely flow. Protein wise I'm a big fan of the steak and the chicken - sauce wise would definitely recommend getting their signature soy based sauce and scallion oil. The cook on everything was good and the flavor profile was my favorite part. Definitely will be back for more!

Food is good for a quick meal and some decent fusion options. The bowl is mainly a lot of rice on the bottom with two sides and a protein on top. Don't be fooled by the size of the bowl since it's most likely 60-70% rice and 30-40% everything else. Regardless it's a good portion size if you're not looking to stuff yourself. Service was fast and easy at the time we went and the ambiance was pretty casual. It's a good spot to go to after a workout or run.

Dry meat with oily chimichurri not good

Their steak is not medium rare and their chimichurri is so oily and the cup was half empty .

My Pickleball team just buried the alleged 1 seed "Its Kosher" 6 feet under Chelsea Piers. The Fermented Cucumbers are now 1-4 on the year, and we have our eyes set on the playoffs. We came into Som Bo post game as we needed a high protein meal to keep this train rolling. Sleep on a win and you'll wake up with a loss. I would categorize this place as an Americanized-Asian fusion chipotle like establishment. Me and my allstar teammate, Andrew Zhou, both opted for double chicken bowls. I got a base of half black rice and half sweet potato noodle, and for my two toppings I went with kale and corn. I'm an elite athlete. From the food to the staff to the interior of this place, it was a bit uninspired. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Chili lime chicken was really dry. Staff was pretty not friendly and really not clear about only 2 sides and not getting any sauce. I only ate about a third of my food before I couldn't really take it anymore. Chipotle or Fle Fle Grill or some other proper Asian fusion establishment would be much better and worth the money.

Usually great, but last few times disappointed. This time again chicken wasn't cooked properly and don't feel like getting salmonella.

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

Opening in 2015 in the heart of Koreatown in Midtown Manhattan, the Korean restaurant, Her Name is…read moreHan, was a great place for my wife and me to come for lunch during our 2nd day in NYC. They have great reviews and it is definitely warranted. The restaurant has a solid website, giving accurate information about the hours and menu. It indicated that weekday lunch time would be a good time to try their value-based lunch menu, letting us sample some of their dishes. We walked over from our hotel just before their opening time of noon, and got in line just as they opened. It was a decent size queue, but the dining space inside was large, and everyone in line was able to be seated (including us). Our main server was Jiwoong, and she was lovely throughout. A carafe of tap water was provided with two glasses, so we could refill our own water (I love this about Korean restaurants...wish other restaurants did something similar). Multiple servers interacted with us throughout, and the beautifully prepared food was delivered exactly on time, with the proper temperature. We ended up ordering 4 things. The non-ipa beer on tap was Ball Lightning Pilsner ($9 for 12 oz) and it was OK. Fried Cod Appetizer ($15) - coming out first, the five chunks of lightly deep fried cod was OK, enhanced by the tartar like sauce. There are four choices from the Lunch Premium Bapsang (a set meal with rice, Japanese equivalent is Teishoku), and we chose two of them. I had the Grilled Atka Mackerel ($19), and my wife had the Spicy Pork BBQ ($21). Both came with white rice, a light bean sprout soup (decent), kimchi (not my favorite), a simple green leaf salad, 3 banchans (loved the fish cakes), some grapes, and a light custard based dessert (which was good). I liked my mackerel, well prepared and fried. The pork was indeed spicy with good flavor. Reading about the restaurant later, learnt that the name came to the founder, meaning two things. 'Han' represents a uniquely Korean emotion of mixed grief, sadness, and hidden resentment...we know that we shouldn't feel this way, but we feel a bit better that other Koreans feel it too. It is also the last name of the founder's mother (most Koreans keep their last name after marriage), so the name is an homage (that's what I read on their facebook page) to her. The restaurant is part of the Resy network, and thus using our AMEX provided a $20 statement credit (once a month...this is my favorite sort of credit since the credit is entirely funded by AMEX, and the restaurant gets their full charged amount). Payment was handled at the table, and we were out in under an hour. As we were leaving, we noticed that there now was a queue to get in, so we came at the right time. In terms of the food, I thought the overall taste was good, but the service, extremely reasonable prices, beautiful presentation, and just the overall atmosphere bumped this up to a great rating.

We did have to wait about 20 minutes past our reservation before being seated, but everything went smoothly after that. The restaurant is beautiful inside- liked the interior design choices a lot! My favorite dishes were the asparagus japchae, lotus root gangjeong, and the Korean melon dessert. Overall really enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back to try the regular menu.

Solid Korean spot with a calm, dim interior. We made res for restaurant week as a group of 6, which…read moreallowed us to try a little of everything on their menu. What I got: - Asparagus Japchae: Very good - instead of traditional Japchae noodles, it's sliced asparagus and mushroom. The marinate was delish! - Shrimp Pancake: It was more like an omelette. Not so much of the actual pancake batter. - Spicy Fried Chicken: Nicely fried, standard. The spicy sauce is on the side, which allows us to adjust our bite. - Bossam: I enjoyed this! More Bossam pieces than lettuce, but overall taste of the meat was good. It didn't have the "bland pork" taste. - Pyongyang Cold Noodle: This was my first time having this dish. Seemed pretty traditional. The broth was on the lighter end for me. - Korean Melon: LOVEDD this dessert! A refreshing way to end the meal. The menu denotes cheese, but it wasn't even noticeable. It has a few toasted pine nuts mixed in, which were SOO good. Overall, a very filling meal and worth the $60 restaurant week value! Nothing absolutely blew me away, BUT the flavors were solid and the staff were great. Would come back for another deal!
