Price is decent, food is great. Though I won't call the service there warm, they are just busy trying to get all the orders done as quickly as they can. The food here is healthy and tasty! As someone who works in Chelsea, that's like harder than finding a 100 dollar cash on the street. They definitely live up to the expectation of Asian food (delicious!) and healthy at the same time. I am surprised they haven't opened a second location yet. I do want to point out some of the reviews said they would sometime get the order wrong. That's true. Pretty good food and quick considering it is another fast casual restaurant. I got chili lime chicken for the main and regret it because it's just chicken breast with sauce on it, but a good choice if you want to eat healthy. So this place is interesting... When you order delivery online they literally just bring you random items they feel like instead of what you selected. It's beyond strange! We've ordered from them three times and all three times they sent whatever they felt like. The last time I placed an order I wrote in the notes 'if you're out of an item I selected please call me and I'll select another one.' But no such luck. They did it again and sent whatever they had. I'm not sure what they do to their employees but it is crazy how they protect the sauces. They are literally scared to give you an extra sauce container.... First, the restaurant moved the sauces behind the counter which is reasonable to avoid overuse but then they limited to 2 sauces per order, even when you get double meat. After talking to the owner, they agreed to 2 more sauces for people paying for double meat but they apparently haven't told everyone who works there and every time I go they are so afraid to give me an extra sauce and try to charge me 50 cents on a credit card which doesn't make sense from a cost perspective. Then, recently, they shrunk the sauce containers so now its barely any to cover the meal - even with the "increase" to 2 sauces. AND they don't even fill them up. It is a scam and definitely not customer-first. This genuinely used to be a great fast food place but because they are so stingy and cheap, I highly recommend going elsewhere and supporting companies that try to care for their regular customers. My friend and I came by for a late lunch on a Saturday, and I was shocked to see how many people were here at this time. Nearly every table was taken. However, this didn't faze me, as a busy establishment is always a good sign in my mind! What's great about Som Bo is that their bowls are completely customizable - from the base, to the protein, to the sides. On the day we came in, they had just rolled out their seasonal weekend menu, and we were so excited! I opted for the Korean short ribs on top of wok tossed farro with charred brussels sprouts and roasted beet salad. My friend ordered the Korean short ribs on top of sweet potato vermicelli with sweet potatoes and pickled cucumbers. After picking our bowls, we found an empty table to sit at while the Korean short ribs were being cooked. After a little under 10 minutes, our orders were ready. I love the fact that the protein is made-to-order, so you know that it's fresh and hot. WOW. The Korean short rib was so tender and juicy and perfectly marinated. It was like I was eating galbi in K-town, but not paying the premium that comes with all establishments in K-town. I also really loved the charred brussels sprouts that were roasted to perfection. As I'm a big fan of beets, I really enjoyed the roasted beet salad, which was crunchy and tangy. My friend also loved her bowl, and we ended up sharing in the end so we could optimize our options. The sweet potatoes she ordered were very soft and the pickled cucumbers were very refreshing. While we also really liked the sweet potato vermicelli, we agreed upon the fact that it was bit undercooked, as it was still hard. Overall, we LOVED our first experience dining here and will definitely frequent this place for lunch whenever we're in Chelsea! It really is high quality casual dining with very reasonable prices and is healthy enough that I'd consider it guilt-free eating! Quick, healthy and delicious - it's like an asian inspired Dig Inn. Loving their new summer items including the corn and summer squash side; and the yuzu lemonade. The steak was cooked to medium-rare. Normally, fast-casual restaurants overcook their steak, and it becomes chewy, but this one was cooked perfectly!
