A few months ago, I loved coming to this sonic. Sonic hands down has the best drinks. A few months ago this sonic would have had a five star. As a plus it's always decorated to season which is super cute. However, the last two times I've visited this sonic I've had terrible experiences. Time number one, taking my nephew out for a fun trip to the park and an ice cream slush. We came around 3pm on a Friday and ordered a large drink and a small ice cream slush. It took them 15 minutes to make these two drinks. As I went to hand the slush to my nephew, I realized there was a hole in the cup they gave us. So I held it outside my car, pressed the red button and asked for a small cup to stick this one inside since it had a hole. They said they'd be right out. Ten minutes later, no one was out with a cup so I hit the red button again. It still took five minutes to bring a cup out. Meanwhile it was clearly visible that the drink was dripping because I was holding it outside of my car. Not a single apology from anyone, and it took 30 minutes for two drinks. What a joke. Second trip. My roommates and I ordered 4 drinks online at 9pm. Our app told us it would be ready at 9:10. We pulled in around 9:15, and there wasn't a single other car at the restaurant. We typed our stall number into the app, and it told us someone would be out shortly. Shortly after, a few other cars pulled into the lot and to our amazement ordered and received their orders before we did! At 9:25 we pressed the button and were told that it was because we must've scheduled our order for a future time so it was our fault. When we explained that we actually placed the order at 9, and their app said it would be ready at 9:10, they didn't admit or apologize, instead they went silent. About two minutes later our drinks were brought out with a quick apology. We requested a card with the general managers number on it and the worker said "of course" went back inside, came back out and said "we're not allowed to give information for our general manager out." BAD BUSINESS. If you think my review is long, I would recommend avoiding this sonic cause your wait will be much much longer. Very disappointed. read more

Horrible service! Ordered ahead to save time, but ended up waiting over 25 minutes. Screen said it's coming out 5 minutes into waiting. Then never came, so we pressed the button. They asked for the order name then said it'd be right out. 15 minutes in, still no food. Waited a little longer and pressed the button again, and they asked for the order name and said it'd be right out. 25 minutes in, finally got our food. The whole time all the other cars were getting their orders and barely waiting. Don't offer order ahead as a time saver then pull that. read more

05-18-2022 @ 11:50p.m. I drove into the parking lot , got on my mobile phone to either order online , look at the menu to decide what I was going to order to not waste time in a hurry at the drive thru speaker lane. A young employee immediately shouted rudely out load to me ; You can't park here in a pathetic tone of voice. I drove slowly towards the drive thru and again this employee jumps outside yelling rudely. The female comes outside to attend to me asking what is this guys problem defending me to shopping to eat. Young female and another young male employee just had a sad look body tone and continues to apologize for coworkers behavior as I ask is this the way he treats customers , does he act this way in front of the general manager. I ordered food for 1 person. Total cost $15. WTF? At a fast food burger joint it costs FIFTEEN DOLLARS to feed one person? Jeezuz. A small burger, small tater tots, small ice cream and mini mozarella sticks. Sounds like a lot, but it was just enough to fill one small person. Wow, come home to find out my 9 year old sister was rudely approached by a worker when confronted about a wrong order. Along with the order being wrong, once "corrected" they came back with frozen food. Instead of apologizing they were extremely rude. A bag ripped and she asked for a new one to which they reply with, "make sure to be careful next time" ??? As my sister and mom were waiting for their order to be corrected the worker insisted they couldn't eat there. They weren't eating there... they were waiting for their food to be corrected. Coming from Texas I went to sonic almost daily. It's a part of the culture there. I couldn't understand why the Sonics in the Mesa area are so empty they look closed - until I stopped in at this one. I ordered my stand-by jr breakfast burrito and large Diet Coke - $4.59. What happened to $1-$1.25 for the tiny burrito and $0.99 morning drink stop? Then, I waited 10+ minutes despite being the ONLY customer. When the food cane, the tortilla was hard and there were only 4 crumbles of sausage. I will not be back to either Sonic location on the north east side of Mesa truly, truly disappointed. read more

I love the happy hour slushfest. $2.05 for a pair of medium slushes? Yes, please!! This particular Sonic has a drive through as well and they give a ride along dog a good treat too! To start, sat at the drive thru window for 10 minutes as the person who took my order wrong was fixing her mistake. She charged me for a large when I ordered a small chili cheese tatter tot. Ended up giving me the large but changed it and charged me for a small. However, I am Super grossed out. Ordered a cheesecake master shake and it tasted sour like the "cream cheese" was rotten. This makes the drive-in aspect seem quite pointless to me if the employees can't get you your food within 5..maybe even 10 minutes, nonetheless 45 minutes like I was there waiting the other day. The food is okay but nothing noteworthy. That may be an understatement though. read more

The only reason we go to this place is because it's across the street from our house. Drive thru wait times are ridiculous... Usually sitting there 10 minutes before Getting our food. We got some drinks today. My husband got a 32oz iced coffee. He drank it all within 5 minutes and said it probably was all ice and only 5oz of actual coffee. My son had a lemon lime slush, and there was no syrup! He had all slushy ice and no flavor. If we had time, we would have gotten our money back.... But I was not in the mood to wait in the drivethru for 10+ minutes again.... I will say I come here pretty often for drinks and breakfast burritos some mornings. The manager lady during that time is awesome, and knows me by my order. She's awesome, but any other time, it's a lost cause. read more

The food is ok here but the wait!! We waited for over 25 minutes in the drive thru. We would've had a quicker time to sit at a restaurant than go to the sonic drive thru. All the workers did was just chat and socialize with eachother too, when there was a long long line of customers. The Only reason I tried this one final time is because there are no other burger places close to my house. The first time my whole order was wrong and cold. The second time I went all I wanted was a basic hot dog I mean come on how hard is that? It literally was cold, not just a little warm it was completely room temperature at best. Today I looked up the menu and saw you could order a cooked to order your way burger HA HA HA BS I specifically asked if this was true before ordering. I didn't go through the drive thru because I didn't want others to have to wait. That wouldn't have been a problem because nobody was there. I said I did not want lettuce. When she read back the order she said lettuce and I again repeated no lettuce. One minute after I placed my order it came out. This location is seriously the worst. They always mess up my order and they are very rude. This last time the guy obviously made a mistake while he was typing up my order. I told him I wanted two combos. On my combo I asked for a special drink and the guy accidentally put the drink in twice. When I said something he said I was wrong and I then pointed out the two different prices for the same drink (except one had an add in). When I said the two prices he finally took it off and I didn't make sure he knew about the fries until they came out and instead of the guy taking my card to go get me what I originally wanted he just stood there and said I didn't order fries. I would go to literally any other location. As an employer I would hate having people like that work for me. That is one way to drive the business away. To the owner, I would fire literally everyone there and start fresh. I have been coming to this location for years and the workers have only gotten worse. Maybe hire people that know how to work for tips. I always tip and didn't this time because the guy wouldn't even help me when all I wanted was some fries. read more

I think one star is the perfect rating for this place. It's actually the whole reason I made a yelp. I only come here because it's so close to my house, but I ONLY ever get drinks. Maybe a food item if I'm feeling desperate... It still takes the staff an abnormally long time for drinks. Five minutes doesn't sound long, but when I'm the only person in the drive thru line and I'm just getting two drinks, it's pretty ridiculous. I get it. I worked in food service. I understand some things take time, especially after rushes, but come on. This is a consistent problem with this Sonic (and upon reading other Sonic reviews, it seems to be a company wide thing). This is the Sonic closest to our place and tends to be our first thought when we need a quick lunch or dinner. Unfortunately the wait can be long, but I've experienced that at other Sonics. The staff is very nice and rarely mixes up our order. (Once I asked for a certain toy and they didn't have it right on hand but offered to go through their sealed boxes of toys for it! Very nice of them.) I always go for a Route 44 Apple Limeade! It's the best stuff ever. read more
