Absolute atrocious values. This is what they called side of max and cheese for 5 dollars. Also very subpar Mac. Overcooked and no flavor on the sauce

Sonny Bryan's BBQ is close to the E12 and E13 gates at DFW. The restaurant was not too crowded so I was able to find a table quickly. Ordering and getting the food was quick. I ordered the Pork belly sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. The pork belly was a little dry but the bbq sauce helped. I enjoyed the Mac and cheese. When in Texas, gotta get smoked meat right. They played top pop songs in the restaurant.

Great food. Fast service. Clean tables. Thick slices of smokey brisket on soft white flour bun hit the spot! Perfect amount of BBQ sauce. The meat was moist, so not much sauce was needed. Enjoy!

Well, I just pulled several feathers from my pulled chicken sandwich. So I'm gonna go ahead and say that this place gets one star and I will never be back.

I see a lot of negative reviews. Not my experience. Yes it's way over priced. But so is everything else at the airport. Cost of doing business. I had the Brisket Sandwich with Mac & Cheese, along with Cole Slaw. The meat was tender, it was good. They have a comfortable dining area, very close to my gate, E-11. They have power to charge my device, and a large screen TV with CNN on in subtitles. I'm a happy camper!

The Saddest Onion Rings on Earth...

So as a former Dallas resident I fondly remember eating at Sonny Bryans on Inwood years ago, so imagine my delight at finding a Sonny's in Terminal E at DFW. My joy soon turned to sadness. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, which was like eating chopped beef jerky (seriously!) and an order of five onion rings which didn't deserve to be called anything but GARBAGE (see picture). The rings were greasy and I'm sure re-cooked because the batter was rock hard and falling off each ring. I brought it to the attention of staff and their response was "so what?" Literally. So Caveat Emptor. Buying food here might result in indigestion and at the very least, a lightening of your wallet. The potato salad was pretty good though.

I just had their breakfast sandwich on my way back to Atlanta, and it was awesome like The Miz. Tender brisket, lots of egg and a slice of American cheese on a soft bun. It comes with a nice BBQ sauce (hint: put it on the brisket!). The place was also super clean and the sandwich was made fast, which is super important on an airport. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the breakfast potatoes were lame. Another hint if you are having breakfast here: Einstein Bagel Bros. is right across the hallway and they do decent coffee/lattes, which will compliment your breakfast experience.

What in the? The cool thing about technology today is you can do a ton of stuff. For instance, you can print the picture of the food I ordered and take a bite - it will taste the same as in person. I ordered a 2 meet plate - brisket and turkey. Neither one looked appealing once I received my plate. On first bite, it tasted as bad as it looked. In Texas, you expect more from a BBQ place, even if it is in an airport. The meat was dry and flavorless. The brisket was a mix of chewy and jerky. Really disgusting. I'm holding back on carbs these days, but I was so disappointed with the meal, I figured I earned a bite of the roll. It was very dry as well. The pros: You won't want to overeat Nice seating I will avoid this place going forward. Now, off to the lounge.

The secret to happiness is to lower your expectations. I didn't lower mine enough, so I wasn't happy. The service here is good-folks are friendly and quick to get orders out. But the food is really.....not good. I had the pulled pork sandwich with macaroni salad and BBQ beans. The meat was dry and fatty-nearly flavorless. The BBQ sauce that comes along was too vinegary for my taste, but the meat was barely palatable without it. The macaroni salad wasn't terrible, but it was very heavy on the mayo. The BBQ beans were just alright-but still not the flavor I prefer. I don't want to hate on the place-they were very nice. Maybe I'll try a salad next time and leave the BBQ to non-airport places.

Subtle & distinct rub. Very crisp but juicy. Nice smoke. 4 excellent sauces if you want them. The Dino beef rib was perfect. Salt & pepper infused. Moist with right texture, not fall off the bone, some gentle pull, but bendy...which is the best way in my opinion . Likewise for the brisket! The sides were perfect, the crisp slaw was tangy & not drowning in sauce. The potato salad was infused with scallions. Also right amount of dressing. Well seasoned. The biggest compliment: you really need no sauces for the meat. Thats what great BBQ should be. Maybe small dabs intermittently. Mind you, the sauces are awesome, but I preferred vinegar for beef & blue cheese for wings. Again: sparingly, letting the meat shine. If I have to critique a 5 star: maybe have a heat lamp. Because even the best brisket can get dry if you linger. Out of 4 big pieces, half a piece got a bit dry, but the rest stayed succulent. Ha ha. Nice staff. Nice guests during the football World Cup. You order & get from counter. $135 for 1.5 lbs beef ribs, 0.5lbs brisket, 12 wings, pint slaw, pint potato salad, & soft drink. My son & me splurged, very happy happy.

The first stop was at the pit master to choose the meat and I made sure to tell him it was my first visit. I got a juicy chopped brisket there. The next stop was where I chose my bread (I again mentioned that it was my first visit) and the person there recommended that I get the jalapeño bun and it was really good. It was not too spicy and added a nice flavor to the sandwich. He also suggested the street corn and the macaroni and cheese and I enjoyed those as well. I had a sprite fountain drink which did not taste that great so I got the sweet tea for my refill and that was really good. All the food was really good and there was plenty for me to take back to the hotel. I liked the fact that they had to-go containers and bags readily available so I didn't have to go back to the register to ask. I didn't try the peach cobbler until a couple days later but it was really good as well. I would definitely dine here if I am in Texas again and I highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone I spoke to was really nice and helpful throughout my visit. There were people walking around and checking on everyone and one disposed of my tray/trash while I was getting a refill and another brought the to-go container and bag to me since I did not see the spot where they were situated. It was a great start to my visit.

Texas barbecue is so dear to my heart I'm feeling an extensive review coming on. Let me finish this paragraph by mentioning a significant historical fact regarding bbq just a few blocks from here. " The" king of Dallas barbeque started not far from here. In 1935 Red Bryan started a BBQ business and became a legend. Passing the torch to his son Sonny Bryan who solidified the elevated smoking of brisket in Dallas. That era has passed and now.... We have a new movement. With the price of beef, personnel retention, operating expenses,it's gotta be one of the hardest operations in food service. But,Red,Sonny and others did it and the bar is raised for anyone else who expects you to patronize their establishment and pay today's prices. I was very disappointed in the brisket here. I should have taken it back but, wasn't in the mood. While the owners may be connected to Lockhart Texas BBQ royalty, you can't rest on your laurels. Let's give them some time to tweek the operation before we try again. At this time it's a no go.

By the time the store opened, the line had grown to being over twenty parties long, so plan accordingly if you don't want to be waiting for a while. Between the four in our party, we shared a three meat BBQ plate with bacon burnt ends, brisket, and their house made sausage. For our two sides, we chose their hatch chile mac n cheese and their Mexican street corn. Following the recommendations of many Yelpers, we also ordered two of the brisket tostadas and two of the birria tacos. When we received our plate of meat, I was a bit surprised at how little of each meat there was on the plate, but in hindsight, this ended up being the perfect amount of food, where everyone was able to get a sample of everything. Of the items we ordered, my favorite was definitely the burnt ends. These were melt in your mouth tender, and was insanely rich and decadent. Each of the three pieces in our order had a beautiful bark on the outside that resulted in a satisfying crunch with every bite. The casing to the sausage was snappy and the sausage itself was very juicy. The brisket was fall apart tender. The brisket was a bit light on seasoning, so I ended up using the Aztec Gold BBQ sauce they had sitting at the table with it. The sides that we chose were both delicious. The pasta in the mac n cheese was cooked perfectly and the noodles was generously sauced. The elote was sweet and smokey, and the Cotija cheese added creaminess to the side. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hurtado Barbecue and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you're in Texas and are looking for great tasting BBQ.

I follow the chef/owner on Instagram (@kafibbq), and the amount of effort and detail he puts into his craft has resulted in multiple return visits for me. This review is for my latest visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kafi BBQ can be found in a shopping strip in Irving-Valley Ranch. Only opened Friday - Sunday, on my most recent Sunday visit around dinner time, Kafi was packed. The patrons were a great mix of families, BBQ lovers, and those looking for high quality Halal meats. Smoke was in the air. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super friendly and nice. Pro Tip - Go for lunch or before 6 before items are sold out. A few items were sold out on my most recent visit (my fault I arrived at 6:45) and the staff weren't aware of what was available, leading to some confusion, but they were so nice it didn't impact my meal. 1 Star. Food - By now, you've probably read or heard about Kafi's Wagyu Brisket. For me, I love following @kafibbq on Instagram so I can see what Salahodeen is cooking up. On this visit, it was the Brisket Sandwich. First off, the house baked bread roll is soft, but firm enough to hold Kafi's famous brisket on a pile of home made cole slaw and pickles. The result was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I've eaten. The bite was soft, smokey, crunchy, and tart (from the pickles). It was a special, and I'm not sure if Kafi will keep this on the menu, but I hope they do. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's pricey, but it's worth it. While the brisket is great, I suggest you follow them on Instagram to see what's cooking and plan your visit around the specialty items. 1 Star.
