This would be an easy four star for me...aw, shucks, I was gonna give a three except for one big thing that nearly resulted in minus 1-star...they almost never have any bread left after, say, 3 or 4 pm, which is really, really %^$#@ ridiculous for a...sandwich shop. I get that they want to serve fresh, and don't want to be stuck with too much leftover bread, but...not everyone only eats a sandwich between say noon and 2. That said, this is a nice location, clean, fine service, quick...have really liked the pressed caprese panini, the breakfast potato/spinach/egg roll-up, a very nice havarti/egg/tomatoe breakfat bagel sandwich... even the oatmeal is good. Excellent, strong coffee...a nice mix of soup of the day,salads, wraps, pressed, sweets for the sweet. The artisan food is fast and fresh with European flair. The design is open and the interior is bathed in natural light. The sidewalk seating is quaint and offers great people watching. Here's what I dislike: immature, unsupervised and unprofessional staff. Sure, they're nice enough but gossiping loudly behind the counter, grabbing each other's breasts and working near food with long hair not pulled back all tells me that the owner/manager is asleep on the job. Sorelle has great customer service - friendly employees and efficient service, even during the morning rush hour. The selection for pastries, breads, sandwiches (breakfast and lunch) and salads is plentiful and delicious. They also have house-made, awesome quiches. I love that they serve cream cheese and lox on a bagel which is something I don't often see around the financial district. The prices are reasonable for the quality food they sell. This is by far one of my favorite breakfast locations in the Financial/Seaport area. read more

Tried this place for the first time today. Was looking for a fast but good and tasty lunch. I ordered the eggplant and mozzarella sandwich and a hot latte. Both were are amazing. The sandwich is not hot, they serve it to you room temp but it was still delicious, so much flavor. The coffee was strong but wicked good. This place is a great alternative for quick lunch. They do not have your typical sandwiches, so do not expect the usual. I work in the building next door to Sorelle so naturally when they opened their doors a couple years ago I was very excited to have another option for lunch. The food is good. The service has a lot to be desired. I find most of the folks who work behind the counter to be extremely inappropriate and extremely rude. You almost feel like you are bothering them by coming in to buy lunch. Its the main reason why I have stopped going there. Today I needed a quick sandwich and decided to try it again. My opinions of this place average out to about three stars, but with a fair amount of variation depending on the visit. Service can be lacking at times, especially if the barista is not paying attention, so make sure they hear your order correctly. The sweetness of their beverages also varies a lot depending on who is making it, but the quality of the coffee itself is high. I prefer the breakfast pastries, particularly the chocolate croissant and the cinnamon muffin. Tried the brownie one day and it was too dry. Haven't tried any made to order food options, but the breakfast sandwiches always look impressive when I've seen others get them. read more

The staff here is very rude and the quality of food is lacking. Pastries aren't made on site and are often dry. The gentlemen who makes sandwiches is very sloppy and rushes - half the ingredients all on one side and the other empty. Rudest customer service I've experienced at a business, I will never go back in. And it's overpriced and the quality of food is poor.

I liked the sandwich I got, grilled chicken on a toasted baguette with roasted peppers, guacamole, roasted peppers, and provolone. The chicken did not have much taste, but the peppers and the provolone made up for it. The bread was not over toasted either. But the whole place was so expensive. $7.35 was okay for the sandwich, it was a decent size, but everything else was at least over two bucks, the drinks and the snacks. And while I did like my sandwich, the menu was not so unique and amazing that putting up with those prices is no big deal. I would have ordered some chips and bought a sod, but those were the two things that were not priced on their menus. read more

These folks hooked us up with some tasty treats on Sunday morning! We took an Amtrak train back to Philadelphia Sunday and needed to eat first and bring some food on the train with us for the 6 hour ride. We had some yummy sandwiches in the cafe first( BLT on toast and a grilled pbj on a ciabatta roll). We then got take out sandwiches-portobello sandwich and avocado and chick pea sandwich- both were awesome. Some carrot cake and flourless chocolate cake came with us for the ride too. Our bellies were full and we even had some food left over for the next day. Thanks Sunday crew! Btw- the train ride was an awesome way to travel from Boston to Philadelphia. Roomy, comfy, quiet and cheaper than flying. And no airport to hassle with. For any of you traveling on Amtrak, stop by Sorelle for some treats for the ride! Best Scones in Boston! Nice modern space located on congress street. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Maple & Cranberry versions bring me to the door every weekend. My husbands favorite is the savory cheddar and chive. Seriously I took a bunch to work and the decision was unanimous, delicious. The cookies, bars and cakes are really great as well. I'm a huge fan of Sorelle. I don't drink coffee so I can't speak for their selection, but for cafe cuisine, this is as good as it gets. Service is quick and reliable for breakfast in a pinch. Only gets challenging when the line gets long, but you'll get your food fast! When I hit my 2-3pm wall, I'll jump over to Sorelle for one of their well balanced pastries (I say well balanced because I'm not a huge fan of super-sweet pastries). I just had lunch for my first time there and finally felt the need to give my report. I can say it's the only cafe/coffee shop I call myself a regular. read more

I work down the street and come in every once in a while. I find that the food is hit or miss - the Sorelle Club is good, but I have had bad experiences with the Prosciutto Panini. The bigger issue for me is that the employees can be pretty hit or miss, too. Monday mornings are tough for everyone, but getting a coffee should be a bright spot - not one that makes a bad morning worse. For a place that is relatively expensive I would expect much more in terms of customer service. read more

Very rude staff. They acted as if I should know everything about their "cafe". Simple questions, like "where are the forks" or "may I have my receipt" were met with attitude and eye rolls. I requested a receipt and she goes to her colleague "ugh its going to be this type of day" and she slams the receipt onto the counter. I have to say, I so want to like this place, but the food is so inconsistent. The staff is exceptionally friendly, but the food prep outside is less than stellar. I have had two brownies with long hair in them - not acceptable. The staff were truly embarrassed and happy to replace them. My girlfriend (who is a diehard Starbucks fan, we don't talk about it much given my Dunkin allegiance) and I went here as part of a coffee tour of Boston and this was the best one we had all day. I had a cappuccino and she had an iced latte and both were delicious, perfectly mixed. I also had an almond biscotti which was very good as well. Great environment too, very clean, modern, classy, like a coffee shop straight out of a magazine, and right on Congress street so it's right near the water and in the thick of the city if you're into that kind of thing. This is one of my usual morning stops. If you have read some of my reviews you may have gathered that I am a hard core iced coffee drinker and I like it black. Finding good iced coffee can be a chalange because some spots still think its ok to pour the coffee thats been sitting on the hot plate for a few hours into the mix but it is not. Its no more ok than scooping out mayo that has sat out for a bit too long at room temprature, long enough for the exposed bits to start turning translucent and crusty onto your turkey sandwich. Here they know how to make iced coffee and it is delicious. I also recommend their bagles, they have a nice crisp outside that almost snaps when you bite into it while maintaining a fluffy soft and flavorful center. They make a mean muffin and tea breads but I tend to stay away from their scones. Although im not a huge sweets in the morning person their scones tend to be a bit too savory for my liking. If your in the area I suggest this place as a damn good stop. read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting Boston for the weekend and were staying in the FInancial District. The area has a good amount of restaurants and quick bites. We ended up at Sorelle, but however, being a vegetarian (or even not) their options are very limited. They don't have a lot of ingredients essential to a sandwich- no choice on dressings, hot peppers, or any spices. The options are very limited and the sandwiches are super bland. But to top it off, I was given an Olive Relish which I had asked the cashier plenty of times if it was vegetarian- she assured me it was and seemed kind of annoyed. I went on to add it to my sandwich and took a bite as that same cashier informs me it has anchovies. She made me a new sandwich and gave me an apology. Then went on and had to repurchase the sides I had with my sandwich. Definitely go somewhere else if possible. It is not worth the money or even food! read more

My main issue is that the staff eat while behind the counter. Sometimes the guy making the bagels and sandwiches is actually eating in between making people's orders. And he does it in a kind of stealthy way as if customers aren't noticing. Seeing someone eating who's about to make your food is super unappetizing. And can't be sanitary. read more

This is one of the worst places I've visited in Boston. The food is oily without much ingredients and the cold drinks selection is lukewarm. The worst thing here is the staff. I expect basic politeness, even if I'm not a regular there. However the 2 person behind the counter where busy chatting with presumably a regular customer, ignoring the queue behind her. There were 2 cashiers. After a while 1 of them finally asked for my order. I did not feel compelled to give a tip afterall she's done nothing else besides swiping my card and keying in my order.
