My wife and I kept it small, knowing we wanted to save room for dinner that night, and had a half-sized Greek feta salad and a cup of Dad's turkey chili. Both were exceptionally tasty and could tell we're made with care and quality ingredients! Iced tea to drink, and it was a great little meal! I was trying to be healthier but eat something different for lunch. I've exhausted my options within walking distance of my office, so any chance I get a chance to drive out for lunch, I jump on that opportunity in a heartbeat. My friend took me here for a quick birthday lunch. I was slightly worried that Souper Jenny would run out of their better lunch options by the time we got there around 12:45/1 PM, but there was still a decent amount left (all the options were still available). I ended up getting the Bengalese Chicken Soup and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Both were pretty tasty but the chicken in the sandwich was a little dry. The soup was flavorful and seasoned nicely, but nothing mind blowing. No one heard me complaining as I finished off the bowl of soup right away. Seating is always a bummer to find during peak lunch hours. It's not the most diverse lunch crowd - I noticed I was the only non-Caucasian person in the room. But hey, soup and salad and sandwiches didn't come from Asia. The combo is great - a choice of two of the following: soup, salad and sandwich, with a drink, cookie, a bread roll and some fruit. Apparently I was hungry and didn't even know it. I was rendered speechless after the first bite of the sandwich, and definitely lost inhibition after the first taste of the cool, flavorful gazpacho. Words finally came back after I gobbled up the last crumb of the sandwich and slurped the last drop of the soup. Today's sandwich special:. Roast Beef, Swiss, Horseradish Mayo, Mixed Greens and Tomato on Challah. It looks like a small sandwich but it definitely is filling. I also got the gazpacho soup. I'm glad I got the bowl because the cup looks too little. Apparently soup and sandwich comes with a roll which is soft and fresh. We also got two different cookies but I didn't try it. I was disappointed I couldn't call in multiple orders for pick up. However, service is quick as everything was pre-made and ready to be packed into a paper bag. The atmosphere is relaxed and homey. There are also some tables in front and outside. Parking is crowded but there were some spaces available. This place gets a 4.5 star so that I may go back and try again before I give the official 5 star stamp. I am excited to go back! Upon entering through the side entrance is the food bar with corresponding menu display. Based on your choice, food is served by the staff followed by a counter to make payment. Opposite to the food bar, for a to-go/pick up option is a small refrigerated section with packaged soups/sandwiches/salad (not necessarily the same as menu of the day). Seating area is huge with 2 floors of seating space. In terms of service, the staff is very polite, cheerful & friendly and ready to help with suggestions or any questions that one has. Food: A daily changing menu, it comprises around 3-4 options each of soups, salads & sandwiches everyday. A combo includes any 2 items with cookie, bread & a drink and is very reasonably priced at just $14. For my combo, I opted for a Quinoa Salad (quinoa, roasted vegetables, feta & lemon dressing) & a chicken noodle soup. The quinoa salad was fantastic with a delectable dressing. As for the chicken noodle soup, hands down the best I have ever had! Portion size is generous, ingredients are so fresh, healthy and everything tastes super delicious.The menu choice is inviting indeed. I love how the food here are simple yet delicious! There's nothing fancy and pretentious about their food--but they provide quality food that makes you feel good after eating it. Best chicken noodle soup for the soul! Although my bf had insisted on going for months, I had postponed on going here until now when he had his wisdom teeth pulled and needed something soft. Amazing food in a relatively small venue. This is located in the history museum and shouldn't be confused as a "snack bar" associated with the venue. Every day they have freshly made soup, salads and sandwiches that will tantalized your taste buds. Fresh ingredients that are both delicious and healthy- who could ask for more ? Suggest if you plan to have lunch there, you arrive early as the line gets long with the normal crowd arriving for their daily fix. Absolutely worth the wait if you get caught in line. This Souper Jenny is located inside the dining area of the Atlanta History Center, which is very spacious and relaxing. I love the space and often go on weekends to do work. I've only got food from Souper Jenny a few times because they charge more than I want to pay for soup, salad, and sandwiches. To be fair, their $15 lunch special does come with a lot of food, but at that cost I'd rather go somewhere with table service. Their food changes daily and the menu can be found on their website. My experiences with their food has been mixed. When I got their soup, it wasn't hot at all. They don't have a microwave, so they gave me a new bowl but again it just wasn't hot like I think soup should be. I've bought their soup quarts to take home before and enjoyed it a lot more since I was able to heat it up properly. On another occasion, I got a turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread, which was pretty good. I only wish they served chips with it (the sandwiches are $8 without a side). I've tried some of their salads before too, which were good, but if I'm going to spend money on their food, I think the sandwiches are the best bang for my buck. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if I'm already doing work at AHS and get hungry, it's a nice option to have available. read more

We came in for lunch and had a lunch combo which include two items (soup or salad or sandwich), a cookie, piece of fruit and a drink for $14. Tried the roast beef sandwich and the tomato basil soup. The roast beef sandwich was good but the bread was really really hard. I was not crazy about the tomato basil soup. It taste like eating pasta sauce. The cookies were great - they had chocolate chip and oatmeal cranberry. Fresh fruit included oranges and apples. I also got the chicken thinking it was a salad but it was just chicken. I guess people get a salad and chicken to eat with the salad. That's something to keep in mind for next time. The service is fantastic and the location is very cute and homey. We beat the lunch crowd so but I saw the line go out the door as we were leaving so it could be a crazy wait depending on the time you come. However the food is ready made and it is a quick and easy meal. Overall, this is a great stop for food if you are already at the museum. Not sure I would go out of my way just to eat here though. People often described this place as healthy. Not sure I understand why it is healthy unless eating soup and sandwiches and salads are generally considered healthy. This is a wonderful addition to your lunch routine in the Buckhead area. Super hearty and fresh options of soups and salads. The pricing is moderate and you will feel nourished at the end of every meal. My only complaint is that for weeks I've been coming here and no one who works behind the cash register has ever mentioned the frequent visitor card. If I lived in Atlanta, Souper Jenny would be one of my favorite little ladies who lunch spots. It has that feminine French Country theme, a welcoming staff and wraps and pasta salads that'll make you run out the office door come lunchtime. My turkey wrap with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and other green goodies was hefty in size, so much that I took it aboard the plane to finish. And the Mediterranean pasta salad? Love the capers, though extremely heavy on some green herb (sorry, I have no idea what it was, just know that it was in excess). The only setback? It's cash-only. Which I dig ... sometimes. It usually has to be an ethnic hole-in-the-wall for me to understand, but Souper Jenny seems hip with it: They have a fabulous website, a newsletter that goes out every morning to give you the scoop on the daily menu--definitely not oblivious to technology. So why no credit card machine? But wait. Voila! An ATM machine snuggled right inside for you to use that prints out Souper Jenny's name on the receipt, I can't help but wonder if they are turning a profit on your bank fee. If so, tisk-tisk. Cause then you're guilted into leaving a tip in that little jar by the register, even though it's order-at-the-counter service ... and you're kinda asked to bus your own table (per their website). This review is solely for the $10 lobster roll from the Souper Jenny food truck. This lobster roll is excellent (although small)!!! It's served cold, Maine-style, with lobster claw and knuckle tossed in a lemon mayo sauce that is delightfully light and zesty with a dash of celery. I went to Souper Jenny's when I first moved back to Atlanta. Parking wasnt easy, I did manage to squeeze in a space in front of some high end retail store located a little walk down the breezeway from Souper Jenny's. My mom is your typical Buckhead Soccer Mom, so she fit in easily standing in the line 10 deep to get into the restaurant. I looked around as we were standing there and thought for a second I was on sorority row in Athens again. Now that I think about it, I think there were some Tri-Delts in front of me talking about having to get together again some time. (for the record; that has never been my crowd) I had the gazpacho and my mom had some salad. For the price we paid, we actually got a considerable amount of food. It was pretty tasty. We chose to sit inside at a two person table instead of on the patio, but it wasnt that bad. I would have liked to test out the patio though. They are open lunch hours, which is nice. And I think the seven day a week thing is better than when I went. Their website is nice. You should check it out, kind of cute. Anyway, I gave them 3 stars, because it was a cute place, good time, probably not going to go there again though. Unless I need to entertain a client and they are into that kind of place. read more

Do ittt Oh and before I forget-- I had the tomato basil goat cheese soup today and it might be my favorite of all time. My Dads Turkey Chili is my second favorite of Jenny's. It's great. Comes with a complimentary cookie when you get a soup and salad. Tis rare but I actually enjoyed the crispiness of the cookie. I'm also obsessed with their rolls. I don't know where they come from but they're always so soft and chewy. The soups and sandwiches change daily, the only thing that stays is the turkey chili. So happy to finally get a chance to try this place out! I've heard about souper jenny for years while I was living in Atlanta for law school. I tried locating it one time about 7 years ago and was unable to do so and I never tried again until this last time. (Mind you this was before the smart phones of today and I didn't have a GPS so I relied on map quest.) It's a small restaurant next to East Andrews and not necessarily on the street the address indicated it was on. We got there around 11:30 and the place was already pretty packed. There's a rotating menu of fresh soups and salads all made daily from scratch. If you pick their lunch special you get a bowl of soup, a side, price of fruit, roll, cookie and drink for under $15! Great deal! I chose the curry squash soup with a side of pita sandwich filled with crunchy veggies and edamame with a consistency of Cole slaw. The daily cookie was choice between freshly baked chocolate chip or coconut. Everything was so fresh, delicious and flavorful. Definitely a lunch you don't feel guilty about afterwards. Upon arriving I wasn't feeling too well--we'll say, flu-like and Souper Jenny managed to make it all better!
