Souper Pho is by far my favorite Vietnamese place in the North End, great prices, amazing service and a clean, welcoming atmosphere.

Got a small brisket pho and two lumpia ~20$ For the price not the best pho in town, but if you are stuck on the far north end and need a fix it is passable. Lumpia were excellent but for the price I am used to getting 4-6 not two. read more

I had the Vegetable and tofu pho- and it was great. Came out hot, with so many vegetables and tofu and delish. They certainly did not skip which was such a nice change from other pho places. The man (I'm assuming the owner) was so kind and greater us at the door, came by multiple times to check in and was overall a delight. Just tried Souper Pho for the first time. Food is excellent-pure steamed vegetables, brown rice -chose those healthy options to offset the perfectly crispy spicy katsu. I will go back and hopefully dine-in soon. Menu offers many tempting items! Would gladly make it 5-star rating when to-go containers are no longer styrofoam. Please, owners-upgrade to environmentally appropriate containers. Little things add up! read more

This place is so PHOking tasty! My roommates and I just moved to the area and had a hankering for some pho. We settled on Souper Pho because it's close to our gym and decided to give it a try. We got the hue spicy beef noodle pho, the regular pho with strip steak, and the veggie egg rolls. Both broths are TO DIE FOR, so flavorful, you can tell this pho was made with love. Each came with big portions of noodles and strip steak along with all the fixins. The guy who helped us at the counter is such a delight, he's so sweet. They do good work here! We stayed at an Airbnb nearby and as Asian food is the only thing we all agree on as a family, we ended up eating here (take out) three times in a week. We sampled appetizers, Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai dishes and enjoyed them all. Chicken stir fry with green beans, combo chow mein, general tso,, pad Thai and a few other dishes -- all fresh, well prepared, and served piping hot to go. Especially loved their vermicelli bowl, chicken egg rolls (not soggy, not greasy!) and their wings were outstanding. Good service, very efficient, clean restaurant run well. read more

Tonite I sat here for 45 minutes and counting. Service is beyond bad, more like non-existent. If you're not ready to spend an hour waiting for anything other than water go elsewhere. The Pho was bland as opposed to what I had previously had, which came with a hot oil and packets of flavoring. Just a very disappointing evening. Needless to say, I won't be returning. One star mostly for service. Had take out tonight. We ordered the Chow mein, that was... Not sure what it was- but had no flavor- almost sour . Not like any chow mein I've had before. The egg rolls were soggy and also had little flavor. We also ordered the green bean veggie saute with tofu. The tofu was so chewy I barely ate it. Finally, we had the salad roll. I'd give 10 stars if I could. I was looking for Egg Foo Yung, and Yelp led me here. I only saw one or two negative reviews, and the struck me as the kind written by those Karens who can never be pleased. My dinner order was ready in 20 minutes, and was the best Egg Foo Yung I have had in years. I actually wanted it again the following day, but they are apparently closed on Tuesdays. Today I tried a repeat order, and added Sweet and Sour Chicken. Extra large portion of CRISPY chicken, with sauce and pineapple on the side. Sooooooo good! Whenever you see a restaurant that offers multiple cuisine, I often wondered if they are good, after all, how can you focus on so many options. So when we passed this place and decided to give it a try, we were starving, I was curious. You have a choice of Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese food. My partner went for Vietnamese and I went for what I thought would be a safe option, seafood combo fried rice. We ordered shrimp spring rolls and gyoza as appetizers. This was another pleasing find that I have come across Tacoma recently. I feel like the food scene in town is slowly improving compared to when I first moved here which is a positive direction that I am excited to see. As the name implies this place specializes in pho. I'm only speaking for myself on this realize but I'm fairly seasonal oriented when it comes to eating pho. I don't really enjoy eating pho when it is warm outside but on cold days I feel like it is perfect or if I'm down with a cold you just can't beat a bowl of pho. If it's a bit warmer though a hot bowl of soup isn't exactly what I want. I tend to run warm blooded and I just don't feel like getting hot when I think it's warm already outside. The day I went to Souper Pho was on a warmer day so another option that I like to get when it is warmer is getting a Vermicelli Bowl. So that was the menu option I went with. I got their chicken version and really enjoyed. It was a really tasty meal and like I am striving towards when ordering Vermicelli bowls it didn't leave me overheated yet it left me satisfied. In addition to that I got an iced Vietnamese Coffee which also was very good. I got no complaints about the service. The staff was friendly and warm and the service was prompt and cheerful. read more

I've realized that there really isn't much of a Pho (Vietnamese food) option north of 6th ave, so hearing that a new place opened up in the Westgate/ North Tacoma area got me a little hyped! We've ordered to-go twice so far, attempted a third but snowmageddon got in the way on our last attempt. Walking in the place is new and clean, we haven't sat and had our meal in the restaurant yet but we will soon I'm sure. Overall service is friendly and fast and the food is delicious! This restaurant is a gem. The food is authentic cuisine and very, very good. The people I interacted with were genuinely happy to be there and their passion for food is definitely reflected in the menu. The souper pho was not salty and very rich in flavor. It clearly took time and skill to achieve this level of preparation. The vegetables and condiments for this dish were plentiful and fresh. We had shrimp salad rolls as an appetizer and they were fabulous. Fresh and crunchy and the peanut dipping sauce made this a memorable course. Last but not least the bahn mi was was incredible. The crust was crunchy but not too crunchy and the crumb was spot on. The pork was very well prepared and the sandwich was seasoned well and is a must have item. I was a little depressed my sushi place right next to Souper closed, but decided to give this place a try. I ordered the tofu veggie pho and it's delicious!! The flavors are amazing. Then I went back for general tsao tofu. The flavor again was great, the only complaint is their tofu is kind of dry/rubbery. I prefer it crispy. Not sure if it's just not cooked to order so it's not fresh or what. Definitely will continue to support this local place! read more

Just checked this place out for the first time today and gotta say, I was impressed. I had their veggie pho to go and man they pack that box full! And they got a good variety in there too for it being a veggie pho. I feel like other places really slack on the choices but I was very happy. They had handfuls of broccoli, carrots, mushroom, tofu, cabbage, green onion, onions, a good amount of cilantro and of course the sprouts and basil. The broth here was very flavorful for being a veggie stock. I normally drench my broth with limes but with their broth I didn't have to add anything to it! Delicious just the way it is! I got vermicelli to take out. 2 orders, pork and vegetarian tofu, fast and great for a hot day. The spice was separate so I could set my own spice level. Been hoping to find a south sound location for good Chinese food. I chose this place for Mother's Day, so glad I did. Singapore Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Prawns, Orange Chicken and Fried Rice...So....good. Each dish had its own distinctive flavors, good size servings and excellent service.
