I was treated with rudeness and incompetence from the beginning until the end. My feeling is they have disdain and arragance towards there clients. I was asked by the manager to come to the front of his office and he would help me with my claim. I called their office early in the morning to see if they would be able to repair the skid plate of my 2017 Honda Civic after it bent out of place and starting scratching against the ground. I set up an appointment with JC to come in about an hour before lunch for an inspection. When I arrived at the shop, JC was very transparent about what they could do to fix my car. I waited in the office and was out of there in less than an hour with my skid plate reattached and good as new! I came in a few months ago needing a bumper, fender and headlights replaced on my car and the owner took a good look and told me it'd be 300 bucks. Not bad since Id be bringing all the parts myself and all he has to do is put them on, but still a bit over my budget so I told him Id be back. It took me about 2 months to scrap up the cash. A few days ago I went back, and the owner was there and recognized my car. He shook my hand and told me everything would be taken care of. I felt such a weight come off my shoulders, it had taken me so long to get my beloved back on the road, and it was embarrassing to both her and me driving around this way. 3 hours later he calls and says he cant do the bumper because its an after market part. He did warn me that this might happen prior to starting so no fault there. half an hour after that, he calls and says he cant do the lights because he has to rewire the system, but hes willing to do it for an extra hundred bucks. wtf? if he wasnt going to do this I wouldve taken the car somewhere else. anyways, I tell him i dont have the cash for that so.... I guess just the fender will be put back on. for 300 bucks.... he calls me when its done and to be fair, they did a fantastic job on the fender. but cmon, you couldve at least put the lights on for me. read more

I got hit on my fender and took my car here based on a recommendation and I'm glad I did! When I came back and picked up my car, I couldn't believe how good of a job they did. It was flawless. They even washed and detailed my whole exterior! I've gotten my car detailed a couple times in the past, but it never looked as good as they did it. I've had two experiences here. The first, a few years back, I was struggling to get my car running by getting the codes cleared to get me to the dealership without towing and they helped me for free within a couple of minutes. Today, I was in a hurry to get on the road to get to work and make money, but I had a random check engine light come on when I started the car and needed to clear it before making any drive out of the area. I went to Jiffy Lube on Camden, my usual go to place to check and clear Check Engine Light codes, this time however, I was greeted by the manager that helped me before and he promptly ran away saying he had something to do and would be back in half an hour. Then, I went to AAMCO because of their advertised "Check Engine light on, we check it for free". That was complete bullshit. I would have had to leave it over night and get my problem checked within a few days as I rent a car from enterprise for $30+ a day. I need my truck for work, my tools, my stereo, my computer, my wifi, my hauling capacity, my, my, my...I don't want a loaner car. I need my truck. Instead I went across the street a couple blocks down to South Bay Auto Repair. The guy there dropped everything he was doing, pulled out his scanner, pulled out another scanner, replaced a fuse and I was on the road again in 10 minutes. He is way too nice, I literally begged to pay him because I love good service more than anything. He saved me so much money and time, got me back on the road and back to work to make more money. This type of care is invaluable, I don't need someone to give me a half-assed, we will take a look at it at some point, screw that, I like how straight-forward the owner of this shop is. Stopped by cold to see if these guys could find what was causing an engine code - one of those codes where it could be 12 different things. JC gave me a very fair diagnostic price, but because there were so many variables he asked me to leave the truck with him for a couple hours. in doing so, he [ jose, actually ] not only gave me a lift to where i needed to be, but CAME BACK AND GOT ME when the truck was fixed. Being that the particular code could have meant a very expensive repair, i was very very very happy I had finally found an honest mechanic who not only fixed the issue with no additional costs -- but didn't try to upsell me into an expensive repair that wasn't needed. I came to this repair shop with my Check Engine light on (2000 bmw) after calling all the nearby auto shops and getting quotes on diagnosing the issue. I simply chose South Bay because the guy I spoke with was friendly, available, and willing to look at the issue for free and said he would quote me the cost once he knew what was wrong. Turns out it was a simple replacement of the air pump hose and it was diagnosed and fixed in less than one hour. I easily would have paid at least $100 or more anywhere else! Has it been that long ago? A year ago I was turning onto South De Anza Blvd from Prospect Rd when some idiot pulled out right in front of me from the petrol station. The front of my silver VW Jetta was dented in pretty badly. Since I was behind the vehicle, I was, by CA law at fault. I looked around for a collision repair shop and came across SBAR. Jose saw my car, heard my story of how I was unemployed at that time and promptly gave me a huge discount on the repairs. Here is one sympathetic honest to goodness mechanic. His crew were the friendliest bunch and they got my car repaired super fast in 3 days flat. They even removed some of the dents that were not caused by the accident and gave me a ride to and from their shop. Just a quick note to let others know about the great service that we had at South Bay. We were on our way from Sacrament to Santa Cruz for a 5 day vacation and just as soon as we hit Los Gatos our RV blew a spark plug. It was 3:00 in the afternoon and we were being told by other shops their wasn't enough time that day to work on it and "maybe" they could get to it tomorrow, it was then that we found South Bay. We explained we were broke down and had reservations and they said that they would take care of us and two and a half hours later we were back in the vaction mode. They were so nice about squeezing us in at the last minute and did a great job repairing our RV. We enjoyed the nice warm beaches of Santa Cruz and made it back home with no more problems.
