Food was okay. Somewhat cold breakfast due to A/C maybe? It did taste good though. However, the menu said 3 eggs and sausage. It seemed like two. A friend brought me here for breakfast and I am so grateful she did! The service was great, the food was great, the mimosas were awesome. I had the special pumpkin pancakes with eggs, home fried potatoes, and bacon. It was a lot of food at decent prices. The restaurant is decent sized as well, even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait long. It dod take a little while for our food to come, but it was with the wait. Great breakfast!! read more

I was excited when I saw the reviews of Southern Kitchen on yelp because I love a good classic diner. The atmosphere didn't let me down. There was a big bar (which I love), friendly southern waitresses, and other great feels of a good ole fashioned diner. I wish I could say the same thing about the food. I had the big country, a pretty standard breakfast with eggs, link sausage, hash browns, and a toast of your choosing. The eggs were OK. They came out as ordered. The sausage was not incredible but edible. The hash browns were terrible. I couldn't eat them because they tasted like old burnt oil, and I had the same problem with the toast. In conclusion: Atmosphere 5 stars Food 2 Stars If you are looking for an excellent place to read the paper and have some coffee with good service, this is the place for you. If you are looking for food that will knock your socks off... keep looking. read more

Stopped here Christmas eve morning for breakfast prior to diving! Staff was very friendly, the coffee was much better than expected, and the menu was full of varied selections. That and they will work with you to meet any reasonable dietary needs you have! Gotta love that, right? :) We (my girlfriend and I) both ordered the same thing... two eggs, scrambled, with sausage links, and broccoli and mushrooms instead of toast, grits or other available carbs. Food arrived, and was good! Coffee cup was kept filled... water was kept full. Great meal! My one regret was that I could not have some of that great looking pie that was available... but hey, dieting! (P.S. I hate dieting, lol!) I would highly recommend this place! This is a gem of a place. Great home cooking and just the right amount of food. Joann was an awesome waitress. Always checking to see if we needed anything. If you have a smaller appetite the "Sampler" is a great option. My son has a larger appetite and ordered the "Eggs Benny" with pancakes and was satisfied. He said he liked everything but the eggs were a little over cooked (not runny in the middle). My DIL had a combo plate which had 2eggs with polish kielbasa and was very happy. Unbelievably, I was able to walk in, see Fox news on the tv, and was still able to order from the menu and enjoy quality, diner style food. Snowflakes... This is a restaurant that is very frequented by locals based on the interactions and conversations I heard around me as I enjoyed my breakfast. My desired rating would be 3.5 stars as the food was typical diner style with nothing really making it outstanding, but I had to round up to make up for some of the ridiculous low ratings by people that didn't even give this place a chance. The place was busy and the turnover was fairly quick so I saw no one waiting for long. I would definitely stop by again as I imagine the food is very consistent...and I definitely want to try out some of the great cakes which were scattered around the bar. If you are in the area, don't let the crowded parking lot scare you away. Stop in for some decently priced diner style breakfast food. You will walk away full without breaking the bank. read more

Love this place. I used to be a waitress at the original SK 20 yrs ago. Sorry to hear about the loss of Johnny. I just moved back to Palm Beach Gardens and was looking for somewhere to eat breakfast and I thought of Southern kitchen. I knew that they moved just down the street so I decided to go have breakfast. All the staff was super friendly, food came out hot and delicious as usual. And it was good to see that some of the same employees were still there after all these years.
