We've been coming here for over two years and the consistency in flavors, portion size, and friendly staff is unmatched. For my family of 3, we usually order the East Meat West platter and an order of the feta fries. All of the items in the platter are hot, fresh, and flavorful. Looking at the picture I attached, it's truly hard to tell just how much food they pack into that platter. Falafel, grape leaves, two kinds of meat, pita, tzatziki, hummus, rice and coleslaw! We love the beef gyro meat paired with the tzatziki and pita! Even with three adults we have lots of leftovers for the next day. I highly recommend Souvlaqueria for a casual, reasonably priced taste of the Mediterranean!

From Greece with love! Bold, deep flavors and a ton of variety, perfect for casual dining or takeout.The Sampler is a spread-tacular starter or small meal with your choice of 3 spreads (I went with hummus, fire feta- my fave, and baba G), plus stuffed grape leaves (dolmades) and 2 pitas. I added extra pita that came with spanakopita and some other bread and this is a must with all the dips- no regrets! For a real showstopper- the East Meat West could feed a whole family with your choice of protein. This huge tray easily feeds 4 (with leftovers) and comes stacked with lemon turmeric rice, pork (or beef or chicken) gyro, hummus, pita, tzatziki, falafel (a little greasy or Greece-y), chicken souvlaki, dolmades, and a bright vinegar-based coleslaw that I loved. Every bite hit and this place really understood the assignment. NOTES/TIPS: **Really fair pricing. Fast and friendly service. About 6 table inside, can accommodate a group of about 8. High chair available. **Small parking lot in back and street parking with high turnover. Easy. **Order take out and delivery via their website which has more options than DoorDash. They're also on Grubhub, Caviar, Seamless, Postmates, UberEats, and yelp.

Food was okay overall. The souvlaki was a bit too salty for my taste -- and when something is overly salty, it usually means the flavors underneath aren't standing on their own. But honestly, that was minor compared to the real issue. Everything was packed into one container for the family platter. By the time we got home, the fries and pita had turned to complete mush. The grilled grape tomatoes, tzatziki, hummus, onions, and all the juices from the meat were piled right on top of the pita and fries, then sealed up so it all steamed together. The result? A soggy, congealed mess. At the very least, the pitas should be wrapped separately -- even if the fries can't be saved. This packaging just doesn't make sense. When I opened the container, it felt like I ordered Greek soup in an aluminum pan, not a platter. Never again.

Been obsessed, dare I say, POSSESSED, by loukaniko lately so I had to try out this place. I got the country sausage plate that comes with the large beans and a pita. The beans were yummy. The pita was EXCELLENT!! But the sausage was meh. The flavor wasn't bold and garlicky. AND they had large chunks of inedible whatever in the sausage that I had to spit out. I definitely put off by that. I was disappointed. Despite all that though, the fast-casual place was super clean, nicely decorated, and there was ample seating inside and outside. The staff was TOP TIER! They were the nicest, quickest, and all smiles. I love that!

This place is delicious, affordable, and fresh. I went a bit outside my comfort zone with the Greek food and it was well worth it. For someone who isn't the biggest fan of vegetables, it was intimidating! I ordered a beef and lamb Smart Bowl. The toppings I got were feta cheese, capers, fries, and tzatziki sauce. Every ingredient tasted so fresh and well prepared. The Greek salad was unbelievably good and I don't even like salads. This salad is my exception. The portion size is also a plus! I was expecting a small bowl of rice and a few toppings. I got a large bowl with a generous amount of each topping. The staff were friendly and checked to see if we needed anything while we were eating. Overall, a lovely little place with fantastic Greek food. The dining room is inviting and is a great spot for lunch or dinner!

If your craving delicious greek food, Souvlaqueria is your go to spot. Been coming here for years and have tried a bunch of things off the menu. Its all very good. Kitchen is clean, excellent staff shout out my guy Ezeqiel. Everybody I bring to eat here has always fell in love with the food aswell. They also have a icecream spot 2 stores down try them out aswell. Highly recommended restaurant to eat at.

Stumbled upon this restaurant on Uber Eats and all I have to say is WOW!!! The food is incredible. My Greek salad was delicious with the freshest, sweetest grape tomatoes I've had in a while. I added gyro meat to the salad and it was perfect. I also highly recommend adding caramelized onions...they hit the spot! The pita bread that came with my order was unlike your run-of-the-mill, dry, stale, bready pita. It was perfectly grilled with the perfect balance between chewiness and crispness. The Greek iced coffee I ordered with the meal is great too. Not overly sweet (ordered it that way), and wonderfully frothed. My order was incredibly well packaged and it survived the uber delivery without any problems. Run, don't walk, to Souvlaqueria! Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Simple, casual and airy, this dining room has a pleasant aesthetic and comfortable vibe. The host and receptionist who takes your order was friendly and helpful as he was very knowledgeable of every dish. This greek cuisine menu was foreign to us so his insights were most welcomed. Each dish was nicely plated and a plentiful serving. We were pleasantly impressed with the different flavors and textures of our mediterranean dishes. We've done both dine-in and takeout. Never disappointed and often the food, service, and overall experience exceed our expectations. Some recommended items of things we've tried so far: - Smart Bowls (choose your own ingredients) - Greek Salad - Britzolaki Bros - The Grand Falafel Burger (it's a hearty patty!) - Handheld Gyro - Island Beet Salad - Grape Leaves - Orange Cake! You must try the Orange Cake! Food is fresh and flavorful. They also have some Greek canned and bottled drinks. We tried one of the Mastiqua Waters - refreshing and nice!

Love this fast casual Greek spot for a tasty, satisfying meal. While the menu is extensive, my husband and I always love ordering both the small mixed platter and dip sampler to share. The mixed platter has a nice variety of flavorful meats, and the portion size ends up being a generous amount for two people plus some leftovers. The platter could use some more sauce/tzatziki to balance all the meats and fries though, which is where the dip platter comes in perfectly. Note that no tap water is provided, and you'll have to purchase bottled drinks.

One of the most exceptional dining establishments I've been to in a while. nothing fancy, easy order at the counter and they bring your order to your table when it's ready. The owner Demi is the sweetest person ever. After coming in a couple times, she remembered me who I was, and even gave me dessert on the house. The food is fantastic. The mezze platter is a must for starters as well as the wings (the sauce is incredible) The tahini loves lemon salad is great as well as the pork souvlaki platter... oh and the falafel burger.., ok literally anything on this menu is worth trying. And I NEED to mention the icecream. They have the perfect selection of flavors, about 8 or so. And they're all So unique. Rose water!? caramel baklava!!?? GRAHAM CRACKER!!?!? I'm drooling. It pains me to write this but while the food is good the customer service is awful. We ordered the mixed platter to go and the employee asked if we want extra sauce? My husband asked if it was extra and the man goes "does extra gas cost more money?" I'm not sure why that irrelevant comment was warranted. It was rude and irrelevant. We left feeling extremely uncomfortable. On to the food: The meats in the mixed platter tasted great. They added some potato's chips but it was at the bottom of the platter next to the salad so it was all soggy rather than crispy. (Not sure why it wasn't packed separately) also barely any veggies were in the platter, just some tomatoes and red cabbage. read more

I started a new job last week, and though I'm close enough to the old stomping grounds, I could not help but notice this restaurant during my drive. I finally got to order today. I placed the order online direct through their site, which made it so so so much easier (thank you for that!!) When I got there, it was an easy pick up and she was so friendly.. I felt like I was going there for years - hopefully I will be! I ordered the pita with my choice of stuffings, and it was so delicious. I wish I had thought to take a pic but I devoured it. It was a hefty portion and it was wrapped up so nicely. It was not a sloppy mess and I loved it. Looking forward to many more trips here. read more

I need to give this spot one more try, but from this take out experience I just wasn't thrilled. I felt like the flavors were kind of bland. I ordered the platter, they skimped out on our dip. The chicken was dry and didn't have much salt. We recently had Greek food at a similar casual eatery near Red Bank and I just remember that being so killer, this kind of felt flat for me. But I definitely will try a few other items on the menu to re-evaluate. It's nice that this is so close to us! And I love the aesthetics! read more

This has become one of our favorite places in the area. It's casual and easy but good. Their food is always fresh and fast and their menu is extensive enough to have something for everyone- both the picky eaters (kids) and the picky eaters (food snob adults) in our bunch. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table in the dining room- which feels like my charming Greek grandmother's dining room, (if I had a Greek grandmother)! I personally like their bowls because you get a little taste of everything, like their falafel and their Spartan Slaw which is my favorite. I love that it is a family-owned place and the owner is always friendly. Their desserts like baklava are delicious, with specialty items at different times of year. They also opened an ice cream shop in the same strip mall with homemade ice cream with all specialty Greek flavors. Definitely check it out- it is amazing! And the kids love the spoons that change color when they get cold! :) read more

Stumbled into this place enroute while working. I ordered myself a pita with all the goodness my taste buds were in the mood for and oooooh my was is delicious. I got the veggie ball option for protein with cucumber, sautéed onions and all sorts of yumminess. I was pleasantly surprised at this little spot making such big flavors! Passed by this spot after a long day and a missed lunch and this really hit the spot! My partner and I got the lamb chops and pork chops dishes as well as a baklava and a greek chocolate cake. All super delicious, very filling, and well-priced. The food was so fresh and good and just made us both really happy after a rough day,nice home cooked dinner vibes! The desserts were very moist and flavorful. And we were greeted with a very warm welcome! Seems like a family type, mom and pop shop and I love it and love supporting businesses like these!! Just learned about this place recently and couldn't wait to try it out. Will definitely be a great addition to our takeout rotation. And they were very accommodating of food allergies which is important for us. We had the grilled mushroom, gyro smart bowl, chicken souvlaki street wrap and the big mixed grill. Everything was excellent. The mixed grill is huge and provides a taste of most (all?) of the different meats they offer. Won't need something that's large again unless we're ordering for a group, but gave us the opportunity to try it all so we know what to order next time. read more

The service was great. I got a hand held gyro with taz-terrible sauce. The meat was a little to salty. I prefer more of a herb blend (rosemary & thyme). Pita was pretty good.There was no feta or olives and it was just boring. Hard to believe I had better gyros in San Francisco than New Jersey. I will give them another try and come in vs getting takeout . read more

Our recent local find - been there twice in a month. The place is simple but tasteful. Lots of space and distance between tables. There is an outdoor sitting area as well. Fresh is the key word I'd use for the fare here. So flavorful and home style, the food doesn't disappoint. Salad was yum. They have preset dishes and design your own gyros and bowls. Unless you know what you want to pick, I'd stick with predesigned dishes. I wish they were easy to order delivery from , the charges go up substantially atleast from where I tried. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way through town, and so glad we did. The gentleman behind the counter that greeted us was so friendly and informative and explained the menu very thoroughly to us. I really loved that they have these bowls where you can customize what you want (but they also have all the other items you might expect on a Greek menu as well). I had a chicken souvlaki bowl and my husband had a gyro bowl. My son enjoyed the sliders off the kids menu. Restaurant was clean and well kept, the food was fresh and very delicious. During our dining experience we witnessed a car accident on the corner right in front of the restaurant. A man and woman who I believed to be the owners/managers of this restaurant were in a business meeting but immediately got up and ran outside to see that everyone was OK. One of the drivers was pretty shaken up, and the man stayed with her the entire time while the lady called 911 and also stayed with the people in the car until the police arrived. This kind and attentive behavior goes a long way in my book. These individuals care about their community and the individuals who live in it. We will definitely stop here again when we are in the area. Bravo! read more

This was a pretty disappointing food experience. The food came out lukewarm, the chicken kebab was over cooked, spinach pie was not fresh, the salads were nice and healthy but for the price...not worth it. I suggest a trip to Queens before eating here again. This just didn't hit the mark. read more

I grab a seat at the counter and start checking out the menu. The breakfast menu card is tabloid sized and filled with choices on both sides and is available all day. I'm afraid to see what the lunch and dinner menu looks like. One of my breakfast favorites is corned beef hash and I get it with 2 eggs sunny side up with home fries and white toast. I love laying the oozy yolk onto a slice of toast and if there's any bread left, use it to sop up any runny yolk left on the plate. Of course, the yolk runs onto the hash and home fries, too. After this leisurely filling breakfast, can I even think about lunch or maybe dinner? I'll have to make a point to come back to see what's in store on the lunch menu. There are multiple opportunities for someone to catch a mistake like this while preparing and packing the order, yet it still made it out the door incomplete. Soulvakleria.restaurant has one thing absolutely nailed - the gyro bread. It's easily the best I've ever tasted. While the quality of the meats is decent, there's room for improvement in their preparation. Lately, they seem to be warmed rather than served fresh, which wasn't the case when the restaurant first opened. The real letdown, however, is the sauce portioning. The Small/Big Grill and Gyros dishes could benefit greatly from a more generous serving of sauce, such as tzatziki. Without it, the meats can feel a bit plain and overly greasy. A touch of lemon/vinegar or more sauce would work wonders to enhance the overall experience. Despite this, the restaurant still has amazing potential. read more

It's an absolute favorite, and we've gotten trays to make Sunday dinners and holiday weekends a little bit more festive during lockdown. A favorite in the house is the small mix grill which has a great mix of meat, potatoes, slaw, pita, and dips. Lots of vegetarian options too, which is always a welcome surprise. I get the vegan balls or falafel on pitas or as a rice bowl and it's all delicious. Specials like soups or moussaka are always a hit too, so I try to keep a lookout on social media when they are making batches! read more
