Clean, quiet environment with music playing but not absurdly loud. Only 1 other person dining when I ordered around 4:30 in afternoon on a Monday. The staff was very patient and even accommodating as I asked the one staff member to change her gloves prior to prepping my food (she had been handling wires etc before she walked over to start fixing the food). In any case, it was an okay experience. I did want to try them for awhile. I think the food could use a bit more flavor, maybe a lemon vinaigrette although hummus was applied.

Visited this restaurant for lunch and I ordered the vegan Cesar salad with tofu. The salad was tangy but I enjoyed it .

Half eaten Grandma's Chicken & Rice and Classic Beef Broth

First time here this afternoon. Ordered the Grandma's Chicken & Rice Bowl + Classic Beef bone broth. Bowl was good. Staff was nice. The beef broth was better than any bone broth that I've made at home. Soul music was playing on the speakers which made for a pretty calm environment. A great & 100% guilt free place for the health conscious type who take it to the next level.

A new business in millburn that took over the old tinga space that serves the fast-casual need. Seems like they have a few other locations in nyc but this was my first time trying it out. They have a pretty large indoor seating area, however it was pretty quiet when I went in as it was a weekday and I ordered take out. I got the grandmas chicken and rice ($15) which was good but felt like it was missing something. The immunity broth ($9 for medium cup) was good as well but I could've definitely used stronger ginger flavor. To note that this is broth and not soup, so it's only liquid. It came in a coffee cup wrapped to prevent spilling. Wasn't too salty either which I get worried about with broths. Service was good as I was greeted right away when I walked in to pick up my order. Overall it's a good place with decent food, but not sure I would be a regular here as it's pretty expensive for what it is and is definitely nyc prices.

Good place. Fast Service. Spotless restaurant. I tried a Salmon dish. It had mixed vegetables and quinoa--very tasty and a good portion. I would recommend it to anyone in the area for healthy food. I would go back again. Parking can be a little challenging round the area.

I recently visited Springbone Kitchen for the second time. I was so thrilled to find a restaurant where I did not need to worry about gluten or cross contamination! And, as a bonus.. super cute and super delicious! I LOVE the concept of build your own broths and bowls. And I love the idea of broth in a cup to go almost even more! Everything tasted fresh and homeade. And they even sell broth right inside for you to bring the delicious home with you and enjoy it whenever you like! Until next time.. Thank you, Nori, Dany, and everyone else who's making this establishment a success!!

Love this place! I should have tried it out sooner. Definitely a healthy and tasty place to eat at! The staff were polite and nice too. Perfect to order whenever you're sick or simply want to eat healthier!

This was my first time at Springbone I passed it many times wondering about it. Heard great reviews from friends. Tried the Bad hombre myself and it was excellent. mBoy tried the chicken zoodle and thought his was great. We will be back to try other choices. Staff was quiet but polite.

I've ordered form here 3x. The first time was solid but 2 &3 were poor experiences. First time they ran out of the burger bun and provided stale wheat bread to which they replaced the meal, cool. On the 3rd order the chia pudding was over a week old and spoiled, surprise! The avocado was in my veggie bowl was brown and over salted (I guess to mask the taste). Everyone makes mistakes however I'm not a fan of having to return to a store after getting home and preparing to eat twice. They also have young teens running the place which is fine if so many mistakes weren't happening. No more springbone for me.

I went with a group of 3 and all ordered ramen and the karaage appetizer, but the karaage was just slightly crispy and barely had any flavor, the sauce really saved that dish but definitely would pass on that dish. All 3 ramens were average. The pork cha shu was tender though which was the highlight, but overall broth was pretty standard. Particularly my miso ramen didn't have that much flavor. Service and staff was a bit slow, but food came out pretty fast. Overall not bad, but will probably give this place another go sometime and try some of the other dishes.

It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

The Veggie Panini is so tasty; the ingredients taste fresh and as though from a quality sauté; the Portobello Mushrooms, Red Onions, Roasted Red Peppers, and Spinach all mesh together juicily well, of good flavor. I try to make the meal as Vegan friendly as possible by removing the Feta Cheese. Still, the panini might have butter which texture wise more so than flavor wise is present. If not for looking in the sandwich I might not note the buttery-melt-like residue which is post my curiosity of the oil/sauce. I think a garlic-olive oil base may be a great option to substitute for any seeking to Veganify the Veggie Panini beyond just removing the cheese. The coleslaw is tasty and contains a light mayonnaise-milky-like dressing, which one may drain out, though the coleslaw comes with it. Being able to substitute the coleslaw for a commensurate size salad can help with Veganify-ing the coleslaw portion. The fresh fruit are fresh and tasty. Request a check for available fruits to be more sure of what might be coming in your fresh fruit package. The meal is overall juicy and satisfying. The establishment offers a variety of seating options and has a somewhat classy modern-retro vibe. I don't look for a jukebox or a dancefloor though I won't find any surprise if this eatery has them. The establishment accepts different forms of payment.

BEDBUGS in the Booths at Millburn Diner -- and an Owner Who Yells at Customers- STAY AWAY!…read more Quick Summary * Sat in a fabric booth and found multiple bedbugs crawling in the cushions within minutes * Reported it to staff -- no manager came over and nothing was done * We were moved to another table and still charged the full bill * Called the next day -- manager promised a call back but never did * Spoke with the owner later -- he yelled, accused us of harassment, refused to address the issue, and hung up I'm sharing this so other families in Millburn know what we experienced. Date of visit: February 28 Party: Family dinner including our 20-month-old daughter My family and I live in Millburn and try to support local restaurants whenever we can, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Within about five minutes of sitting down in a fabric booth, someone in our party noticed a bug crawling on the seat. Based on what we observed at the time, it appeared to be a bedbug. When we checked behind the booth cushions more closely, we saw several more, at least 8 crawling along both sides of the booth. Seeing multiple insects that were confirmed to be bedbugs where customers are sitting and eating was extremely alarming. We immediately got up and asked to be moved. In hindsight we should have left immediately, but we had already ordered and felt awkward walking out. The staff moved us to a table in the center of the restaurant with wooden chairs. We clearly told our server exactly what we had found in the booth. Nothing further happened. * No manager came over * No one inspected the booth * No one followed up with us * No one offered any acknowledgment beyond a quick apology from the server When the meal ended, we were handed the full bill as if nothing had happened. The next day I called the restaurant to make sure management knew what had occurred. The manager told me he had not heard anything about it and said he would call me back "ASAP." That call never came. Two days later I called again and asked to speak with a manager. This time the owner came to the phone. Instead of addressing the issue or even listening, he immediately became hostile and started yelling. He accused me of harassing him and his employees and said he was going to do nothing about it. After shouting at me, he abruptly hung up the phone. I have never experienced a business owner respond this aggressively or unprofessionally to a legitimate customer concern. For transparency, we documented what we observed at the time and contacted the restaurant directly the following day to give management the opportunity to address the issue. Based on what we experienced -- both the insects we observed in the seating area and the response from management -- this situation felt completely unacceptable. If you are dining in Millburn, there are many other options. DO NOT GO TO THE MILLBURN DINER!

Millburn has no shortage of delis, but Goldberg's Famous Deli is definitely at the top of the list…read more Goldberg's offers deli traditional favorites like fresh-baked bagels, lox, and sandwiches piled high with deli meats, as well as healthier options like salads when you want something lighter in an unapologetically casual ambiance. Goldberg's has been a local staple in Millburn since Tina and Marty Goldberg first opened the doors back in July 1977. The current owners took over in December 2022 and have done a fantastic job keeping the soulful and "old-school" Jewish-style deli spirit alive while making many subtle but meaningful improvements that today's diners expect and appreciate. However, it still has that authentic, "old-school deli" ambiance where you order at the counter then grab a table to wait for your meal and could end up with mismatched silverware. It's charmingly low-key and with a focus entirely on the food. The deli sandwiches are massive and the quality of the ingredients is consistently high. Unfortunately, that also means that the prices are somewhat higher than you might expect. A single deli sandwich served with a small bag of potato chips is in the $20-$22 range, which feels like a bit of a splurge for a casual lunch. That said.. You definitely won't leave hungry and the portion sizes encourage sharing or taking half of your dish home for a second meal. My dining companion and I split the West Orange sandwich, made with corned beef, turkey, russian dression, and cole slaw, on rye bread, which was excellent. We'll definitely be back. PRO TIP #1: Bring your wallet. I do feel obligated to point out that Goldberg's should be rated as a $$ / moderate price range (indicating $11 to $30 per person) rather than a $ / inexpensive price range (indicating under $10 per person). PRO TIP #2: While they don't have a private lot, there is plenty of on-street parking and municipal lots nearby. Use the mPay2Park app for the pay-by-plate meters ($0.50 per hour). Meters operate Monday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm; all street meters are free after 7 pm and all day Sunday. If the street is full, the Essex Street parking deck (24 Lackawanna Place) is a reliable backup.
