I love Korean or Asian food in general but this place, in my opinion, is not the best when it comes to lunch food. I had the pork belly and brisket soup but it was just ok. Came here with family of 5. We were craving for some Korean food. Soyo popped up on Yelp so we had to try. First glance from outside was okay. Didn't seem a lot of people that night which is fine with me. Walked in and the vibe of the place was a normal Korean bar restaurant like you can find on spring mountain. Or in South Korea. Ambiance was nice, very dim and music was just right with a lot of Korean pop music videos playing in the tvs. Hostess/waitress said we could sit anywhere as we sat in the booth, a little dirty but it wasn't too bad. Server gave us the menus and told us we could use the tablet on the wall to order. Drinks needed to be ordered from the server as the tablet only had food items. Ordered many dishes like Kim chi fried rice (it was okay). Wasn't spicy enough. Kalbi was really good. Very favorable and temperature was hot. Some of my family had kimchi seafood soup and said it was spicy but good. Overall it was an okay experience. Cost of everything we ordered was $115 and it was reasonable. We've been coming here for years, and I'm finally decided to write a review. The food has always been the reason we return. Everything is consistently well-seasoned, satisfying, and reliably good every visit. The banchan selection can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on the day--sometimes they have all of our favorites, and other times the selection feels more limited. Service has never really been the strong point here. Since ordering is done directly from the table, interaction with staff is minimal, but even for simple things like water refills or small requests, it can be difficult to get someone's attention. We often find ourselves trying to flag someone down throughout the meal. That said, the quality of the food keeps us coming back year after year, which says a lot. read more

Soyo is a Korean staple in Las Vegas with multiple locations around the city. I routinely go to the one in SoHi but wanted to get out of the neighborhood and landed at the S Rainbow location. Specifically wanted Bossam which is a pork belly dish that I believe is steamed or boiled then sliced. It's eaten in a wrap style with lettuce or cabbage, a radish Kim chi, rice, and raw garlic and jalapeno. I love the sauces or dips you use also, it's one of my favorite Korean dishes. We love their menu and also got bibimbap, fried chicken, a beef soup, and a soft tofu soup. Overall I really enjoyed everything, prices were fair, portions are large. I think it's a pretty solid Korean spot but there are for sure more "authentic" korean spots but I love Soyo. My only complaint was it was hot in there. Service was fine. read more

We keep coming back to Soyo again and again as it's still a great place for some classic Korean food even late into the night! The ambiance hasn't changed much - it's still pretty rustic inside. Try for one of the booths along the back wall. These are much more comfortable then the tables where you have to sit on a somewhat uncomfortable bench with no back. On our recent visit we found they had added electronic ordering tablets at the tables. These are convenient, but there are no descriptions of the items and no way to customize the items. For example, we know from experience that the "army stew" contains cheese which we ask to leave out. However, if you were unaware of this there is no way for you to know since neither the printed menu nor tablet describe each dish. We had to ask the waiter to leave off the cheese before we submitted the order on the tablet. We had the lychee cocktail which actually is served in a large bottle from which you can get quite a few servings. It's not terribly strong, but it is tasty. We also enjoyed the kimchi pancake which had a wonderful crispy exterior and a tasty and fluffy interior. The LA Kalbi is always good, but this time it wasn't served sizzling like it usually is. It also seemed like a slightly smaller portion than in the past. It was still tasty, though. And of course we love the "army stew" which has a flavorful and spicy broth with hearty inclusions like hot dog pieces, spam, and tofu. Great for a cold night! We have been here twice and both times the food came out super slow (30+ min even though it's not busy) but the food is really worth it. The cold chewy noodles are really yummy with a nice sesame/nutty/sweet/spicy balance, and the chicken wings are my favorite! The grilled spicy chicken and pork soft tofu soups are better than any other Korean restaurant. The dukbokki is standard. Love their complimentary cold barley tea. We haven't been here in such a long time, and decided to give it another try since our favorite server Cam left for another restaurant. Right away, we noticed they now have electronic tablets attached to the tables, which was new to us. We were seated, handed menus, and no one mentioned that all orders had to be placed through the tablets. I tried to get someone's attention to ask about switching the noodles in my soup, since that option wasn't available on the tablet. It took a while before anyone came over, and when they did, the staff member (who seemed very new) told me there would be an upcharge. I asked to speak with someone else because I was simply swapping the noodles that already came with my soup. Eventually, it got sorted out, and I was able to get ramen noodles in my rose soup. Unfortunately, the timing was all over the place. It took about 35 minutes for our corn cheese to come out which we ordered first, 15 minutes after that for my rose soup, and my boyfriend's kimchi pork stew didn't arrive until 45 minutes later -- and there were only about five tables seated around 11 p.m. The only thing we kept hearing was "sorry," and nothing was offered to make up for the wait. About 45 minutes later, someone came up to say, "Hey guys, last call -- anything else for you?" and we said, "We're still waiting on the kimchi pork stew." I asked to speak to a manager who said they had a large to-go order, and when I asked if he could take the stew off the bill, he hesitated but eventually did. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We really missed how great the service used to be when Cam worked here, but tonight just felt unorganized and frustrating. It's been years since my last visit. Glad we stopped by at this location. It was very late at night and I wanted Korean Kimchi Soup. You don't get too much interaction with the servers. When you're seated they give you your water, ban chan and you place your order on the tablet. Food: Kimchi Stew with pork Steamed Dumplings The stew is the best I've ever had. Was seriously craving some Korean food, so I ordered the Soyo Special BBQ Steak (marinated beef sirloin with Korean-style salad) and a Yogurt Slush on Uber. Now, I come from a place where good Korean food is aplenty, so my standards are pretty high, but I was pleasantly surprised! The meat was tender and already sliced into little bite-sized pieces, making it super easy to eat in my hotel room. The rice was cooked just right, the banchan were all tasty and fresh, and the portion was generous for the price. The only constructive feedback I'd offer is that it might be a good idea to provide the salad dressing separately, so the veggies stay fresh through delivery and the customer can control how much dressing they use; I found the salad a bit salty :( read more

Soyo is definitely one of the best Korean restaurants located in the south west. They're open late and provide a great variety of Korean food and drinks. Common go to dishes I'd suggest is bossam, samgyupsal if you want anything pork. Any of the Korean fried chickens will be good you just have to pick a flavor you like. They have a variety of options from traditional Korean Soups to simple Korean fried chicken. This is a great place to come to with a group of friends as they can both accomodate large groups inside and outside. I've come here for quite a while and have seen the menu change quite a bit, but either way this is still a great place to eat and drink. The service is always good whenever I come here. I even haven't came for a few months and they still recognized me. Definitely a must try whenever you have the oppportunity. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, which is why this recent experience was so disappointing. My family was already seated as a table of three when I arrived later to join them with my 8 year old son. By the time I got there, the table had grown to five people total. I only ordered one item, nothing elaborate, and honestly didn't require much service. In fact, I had to get my own utensils because no one brought them to me. What stood out most was the complete lack of communication about the 20% automatic gratuity that was added to the bill. At no point did the waiter mention this policy, even as the table size changed after I arrived 30-40 late. There was no indication on the menu, no verbal notice, and no explanation when the check was presented--just a surprise charge at the end. I understand that restaurants may have policies for larger parties, but it's essential that these are clearly communicated to guests. Without any notice, it felt misleading and frustrating, especially given the minimal service I received and the fact that I only ordered a single item. Being charged extra without any prior awareness significantly impacted my overall experience. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, which is unfortunate because I've always liked this place. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures staff are upfront about additional charges moving forward. Check no indication of 4+ would be charged 20% and no verbal or written communication. Now the server gets a tip when you place an order at the table like it's some kind of chain restaurant. So unfortunate to leave a 1 star review because the food is actually superb but the service was awful. My husband and i came in at 10:50 pm, we were not greeted and then gestured to sit wherever we wanted (which is fine i guess but for an empty restaurant you would expect a little more attentiveness) Upon sitting we looked over the menu and a server came over to us and told us to order on their tablet (which again fine i guess but you can't make any modifications on the tablet) We ordered and waited for our water lol, and the food came out pretty quickly but what left me to make the one star review was 2 minutes after we got our food they dropped off the check, mind you my husband didn't even get a bite of food in yet. (Still 50 mins til close time) And then not even another 2 minutes passed and they asked us to pay so they could close out. They ran my card and turned the music off. My fair review of actually eating at the Rainbow location alone. I go out to nice full meal type places like this alone a lot, so ambiance is extremely important for me. They sat me down at a really nice, fairly larger than I needed booth, but I felt as though it was the best seat in the house. The staff was extremely attentive, but was by no means annoying or overbearing! A few members of their staff even went out of their way to give me a social vibe when I started to get a little drunk. I honestly don't remember what I ate, but I do remember enjoying my meal and having no complaints. What I really ended up enjoying was the mekju (when you mix beer with soju). After a few glasses of that, you'll forget everything else you consumed that night! Yes, definitely check Soyo out! There was a table of 8 just finishing up and another party of 2 in one of the booths, so we grabbed a booth. They have the menu on the table but there's a tablet as well that you can order from. The tablet didn't swivel much so it's hard to crane your neck but it is straight forward. Select items you want, add to the cart. When done, review your order and then submit the order. We ordered the following: 1. chicken wings, korean style so it is on the sweet side since it has glazed honey: 5/5. These are massive! Flavorful and delicous. 2. hot stone Beef Bi Bim Bap: 5/5. The best I have had. Other places make them with the sauce in it which this one doesn't have and I like it like that so I can sauce it up to my preference. All the stuff and beef are just delicious. Plus the hot stone created a crunchy rice bottom so that's nice. 3. Beef soft tofu soup: 5/5. Beef is tender, not games and tasted buttery. The soft tofu is just the right amount along with the flavors. It is prob the best soft tofu soup I have had. It also comes with an egg for you to crack in. 5. Grilled garlic squid: 4/5: The garlic sauce is a little empowering but the squid is nicely cooked. I love the whole cloves of garlic in it. If the sauce wasn't so salty, this would have been a perfect 5/5. 6. Fremch fries: 4/5. I like them thinner and these are just a tad fat for my preference. But the fries are delicious, not greasy at all and it had specs of black peppers which I love. They have a few banchan side dishes. I liked them all. Other places have alot of side dishes to offer but I like the quality more than quantity. These are delicious and they offer free "refills". The waitress was very nice and attentive. Came often to check on us. Her friendliness and attentiveness were greatly appreciated. The bathroom could use some attention but maybe they just had the lunch rush and hadn't attend to it. It would also be better if they have longer curtains to hide the back for optics instead of letting their patrons seeing their mess back there. Soyo has been a family favorite since ever since! From birthdays to just craving Korean, soyo has been part of our family core memories! Some of our family favorites are the Kalbi tang soup, galbi, Soondubu, pork salad, and barley tea!!! So good! It can get really busy here so be aware of wait times for dine in and take out service. They opened up a second location, which is closer to home but we still prefer the Rainbow location! Love that their barestaurant opens late and is open for lunch as well! The customer service was extremely poor, there was no greeting when we walked in, and the server didn't acknowledge us or ask how many were in our party. Instead, we were looked at as if we were an inconvenience. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet the food took a long time to come out. I was debating takeout on a Tuesday, but by the time I was ready to go, there were limited options available around 9:30pm. I went with an oldie but goodie (with this spot). I've been multiple times for a sit down meal, but for tonight it had to be take out. I called to place an order and went with some top items: Korean style chicken wings (2 sauces) with a radish side dish, Bi Bim Bap with bulgogi, egg, rice, veggies and chili paste, and Jap Chae noodles with veggies. The food was available for pickup when I got there (took approx 20 min). When I was checking out it seeemed pretty chill with roughly half of the tables being occupied indoors (patio was closed), but then again it was a Tuesday night. When I got the dishes out at home, they were well wrapped and were still pretty warm. The chicken wings were as good as I rememebered. Perfect ratio of sauce to meat and very delicious. I only wish I would've doubled that order. The Bi Bim Bap was very flavorful with a good amount of bulgogi, veggies, egg, and rice. I only had to mix it together to bring out all the flavors. I loved the Jap Chae. It was pretty tasty with the glass noodles, sauces, and veggies. I also like that they included some banchan (Korean tapas or accompaniments to the meal, to be eaten with rice) with the order, including kim chi, what looked like mac and cheese, and some veggies. And of course, a side dish of rice. They were all pretty delicious. Honestly, any more food would've been too much. Perfect amount of food and different dishes to try, and was good for a couple of meals. I'll definitely be back again to try some other stuff in the future. read more

They also have a large menu that offers a lot of dishes that other Korean restaurants in town don't which is very nice.
