I admit that I'm not a fan of my former experiences of Mr Puck and his brand of dining, however this experience has totally changed my former outdated opinion. This meal - and the drinks especially - was fantastic. The presentation, the ambiance, the service - all top tier. We sat at the bar to avoid any wait and to really experience the new bar program. The amuse bouche was lovely and the service behind the bar was top notch. We had the risotto and gnocchi and I am still thinking about those dishes weeks later. We both had a few rounds of cocktails from the new menu and I truly cannot speak enough about the truly amazing cocktails we had. So good it would be worth it just to go to Spago for drinks. The crowning jewel of what was a noteworthy evening was the inventive presentation of the Walrus and the Carpenter. A martini with pickled sea beans and an oyster paired with it. Spago Beverly Hills is such a beautiful restaurant in a prime location. The dining area is beautiful with a fireplace and greenery. It is the definition of a high end and expensive restaurant and Beverly Hills is definitely where it belongs. They even have a wine connoisseur walking around that will recommend wines. The service was great and our server was super knowledgable on the menu and was able to provide us great recommendations. All the food we ordered was high quality and delicious. We started with the bread box which came with an assortment of breads, butter, and hummus and also the spicy tuna cones. The bread box I probably could have lived without but the tuna cones were amazing and flavor packed even though they were rather small. For my entree, I ordered the risotto which was a "mid portion" sized dish. However, it was the perfect amount for me personally! For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake that came in a big portion and was also amazing. My husband and I came here for the first time (after many years of wanting to visit!), on a Saturday night for dinner. Parking is easy, they have either street parking, a lot (but you'll have to walk) and a Valet. The cost of Valet is well worth it! Atmosphere: 4/5 Before our reservation, we were lucky enough to sit at the bar beforehand. The room is very cute, however very small. Food/Drink: 4/5 *Spanish Octopus $38.00: The octopus was a little tough to eat, however I really enjoyed the flavors...Heirloom Bolito Corn | Aji Verde | Purple Potato | Coconut Sand | Hoja Santa | Pickled Red Onion *Lamb was cooked perfectly! *My favorite was the lobster ravioli! *Dessert: It was a free dessert for our Anniversary; a stuffed ice cream cream puff. *Drink: Rodeo Drive, I wish the glass was filled more! 5 of us were celebrating for a friend who is moving out of the country; she wanted to revisit one of her old favorites for her last night out. My expectations were low, expecting a stodgy meal. The experience was quite the contrary. Service was more than gracious, everyone we encountered was warm & friendly. Each dish was delicious, flavors were balanced, textures were all on point, sauces may have been a tad old-school (but in the best most satisfying way). I would never have expected to see Wolfgang himself IN the kitchen, tasting and directing activities before he came out to the dining room and stopped by a few tables. We beckoned for him and he kindly posed for photos with our party-girl... shortly after we beckoned him back for a group photo and he happily obliged, engaging in thoughtful banter.... he then proceeded to stop at every table in the room, posed for countless photos and it is clear that part of his success is passion. As food lovers do, we shared & passed around tastes of all the dishes which included: Spicy Tuna Tartare in a crispy cone was delicious, Glistening Smoked Salmon with Caviar (orange fish roe) Pizza (we had 2 pizzas), Uni Risotto was my least favorite dish it was a little too basic for my taste, traditional Duck Breast moist but not greasy and I'd happily eat this again, Lamb Chops were gamier and more flavorful than the chops from my local butcher, the sauce was delicious, I preferred the side order of seasonal mushrooms over the side of Brussel sprouts which simply didnt have enough sprouts. Everyone appreciated the Ochota Barrels Syrah (which as the designated driver I was told this was an excellent suggestion by the Sommelier), we closed out the meal with their "cookie jar" with (two each) of 6 lovely, old-school comforting cookies, all of which were tasty my least favorite being the chocolate chip (I was looking for something a bit more dramatic). Honestly not sure what the whole hype is here. Food and service were both mediocre and not really that great. The vibe was nice and holiday decor was really cute. The "popular" spicy tuna cones were not entirely fresh and fishy... the ikura on their smoked salmon pizza that our server recommended as a "secret" menu item was super fishy and honestly was a glorified smoked salmon bagel with an Asian twist bc of the ikura. The entire menu feels very safe but with a twist that really wasn't that new or exciting. We left feeling like we could have easily spent the same amount on a much more satisfying and interesting food and unique experience pretty much anywhere else in the SGV or BH. We went to Spago on Mother's Day, May 11th, 2026, with our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter for a midafternoon early dinner. There was live entertainment, a band and a singer, that turned out to be deafeningly loud. We were seated in the main dining room and it was totally impossible to have any conversation at the table. Halfway through the meal I began to get a headache from the music which was just blasting at us and had to complain to several staff members. We were told they couldn't turn the music down because it was live. Finally, we were moved to another room further from the music. We have been to Spargo many times, know Michelle, the general manager, and several members of the wait staff quite well. This was the first time we had a bad experience. I will preface this review by saying that I should not have let my fiancé pick certain things off the menu. The pizza with smoked salmon and crème fraîche is an absolute must order. The lamb was superb and cooked to perfection. The mushrooms were delightful as a side. The cocktails were fantastic. So while Spago in no way dropped the ball on anything, I found certain menu items to be underwhelming. I think if we had steered away from the Asian inspired dishes (a sashimi and the branzino) the meal would have been much better. I also am not a fan of Asian fusion in most cases so take my criticism with a grain of salt. Both dishes tasted fine but as an Asian person who loves to cook, it just didn't do anything for me personally. The service was excellent and while it would have been nice if they did something special for our anniversary as we had mentioned it in the reservation, not a big deal. read more

Full disclosure, I used to work here... but my has it changed. It's actually become much hipper, and even more expensive, but it's ultimately still the same old Spago. The more things change the more they stay the same, and Spago is still that iconic LA restaurant that has to be experienced at least once. The Beverage Director has really upped the craft cocktail menu, which was imaginatively sorted by decades. The drinks we had were truly spectacular. The food, as you may expect, is flawless. I ordered a couple of the classics, Agnolotti and Wienerschnitzel (for old times) and they were spot hitting (and then some). Other dishes my partner had were more complex and yet still sublime. People watching at Spago is as interesting as the food, as is the renovated patio (now with retractable roof) and the staff who seemingly glide effortlessly throughout the room. That said, I'm not sure I know anyone who would take their younger kids to this class of restaurant, but then I also don't really move in these circles. Go, at least once, you won't regret it (just be sure to have room on your credit card). read more

The BEST Thanksgiving dinner EVER! Spago had a fabulous jazz band playing/ beautiful ambiance/ amazing service and the food and drinks were delicious. It's $225 per person without drinks but you can expect perfection. We started with martinis- some at the table gin- some vodka- equally perfect. Next came the amuse bouche- a single tater tot with a splash of crème fraiche a dollop of caviar and chives sprinkled on top- heavenly! Next a warm basket of fresh cornbread/rye bread and focaccia. The only choice was the starter- a lobster pot pie; hamachi or a pear Gorgonzola salad. We all had either the lobster pot pie or the hamachi which was the clear winner in taste between the two altho they were both fantastic. Next a traditional Thanksgiving spread brought to the table family style. Perfectly cooked turkey or ham- the best mashed potatoes ever- the best green bean casserole ever and delicious stuffing. We all took our dessert home ( as well as leftovers) and enjoyed the next day. The lemon meringue pie was the favorite with vanilla bean cheesecake as a close second. The whole experience was so lovely this may now be our new Thanksgiving tradition. read more

Absolutely perfect! I've been a fan of Wolfgang Puck and all his restaurants. He is not like Gordon where he is just about the fame and the restaurants are lacking. Every restaurant I've been to the Wolfgang owns is amazing from the moment you walk in to the time you walk out. The service was excellent, but the food outdid itself! It had been a long while since I went to Spago but last night I was reminded why it remains one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles, even to this day. After being greeted with a warm and heartfelt welcome, we were shown to the perfect table on the restaurant's enchanting patio. The evening ensued flawlessly thanks to the professionalism and genuine enthusiasm of our expert entourage - Eric, Wine Director Matt, and server Leal. The cuisine was exquisite, the wine pairings were spot on, and the service, impeccable. To top it off, we enjoyed a delightful exchange with Barbara who passionately insisted that we conclude our meal with Kasserschmarm for dessert. She was right - it was superb! This is a tricky review to write. Part of the experience was terrific and part was disappointing. I'll go chronologically. We were a party of six arriving in two groups of three. As I was being seated someone in my group peeled off for the rest room. I got to the table and 2 of 3 were there, with one in the rest room. I was surprised to see that our waiter was already in the middle of going over the menu as I was being seated. He did not offer to start over, which still would not have made sense since only 4 of us were seated at that point. And no, we were not late for the reservation, we were a few minutes early. Also, instead of leaving 6 menus, the server left 4 and then the 5th person had to request a menu when he sat down and then the final person had to request a menu when she was seated. The menu itself was terrific and the pricing seemed reasonable given that this is, after all, SPAGO. The waiter did barge into our conversation several times to see if we needed anything, or were ready for additional drinks. Usually, wait staff is much more subdued and tactful in the way in which they interrupt. The food and cocktails were both outstanding and I loved that the waiter saw that we had "finished" one of the appetizers and offered to box it. Also, he found a good spot for it by the table where it was not in anyone's way. I liked that we were able to get out of there quickly and efficiently when we were done. There was no waiting around for the check and the subsequent waiting around to be brought my credit card back. The valet parking is a nice set up and made getting in and out of the restaurant super easy. I think with a better waiter this would have definitely been a 5 star experience. read more

I was at Spago this past Saturday night with friends and it was really disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, the bathroom was quite dirty and to top it all off we watched right from our table a dog being brought into the kitchen and handed off to the chef that was plating our food...we spoke to several different wait staff about what we had witnessed and it didn't seem that anyone was very alarmed or concerned....no one came to the table, nothing was offered to us to compensate for what we complained about...on the way out I asked to speak to a manager he explained that he was told that the general manager had come to apologize but that never happened....all in all I don't feel the need to ever go back...not sure Wolfgang would be pleased! read more

For dessert we got the Sachertorte (chocolate cake with 2 scoops of ice cream) - our server gave us a history of this dessert, which is the signature dessert in Vienna, Austria as it was discovered in 1832 by a boy who was asked to make a dessert for Prince Klemens von Metternich, heir to a wealthy family of hoteliers. I've had a subconscious desire to go here for the longest time. So long, in fact, that I just kind of forgot about it. That is, until my anniversary came around and we both didn't have any grand plans so I floated the idea of going to a grand restaurant! It's a little weird to get there and we almost walked into Salt Bae's restaurant instead, but once you step inside Spago there's no denying you're at the right place. Warm and cozy- especially with the holiday decor- walking in felt like I was stepping into an old friend's foyer. Two hostesses greeted us and confirmed the reservation and our occasion- then both wished us a happy anniversary with the most genuine emotion! We were escorted to the most adorable table just on the cusp of the indoor/outdoor divider, next to the fireplace. That said, it may have been the only table in any restaurant at which I've ever been actually warm lol. Menus were brought shortly after with a server offering water and drinks, which was declined as we'd just sat down but did mention we needed a few minutes. A few turned into 10 and while I requested something off menu- a French martini- I was assured the bar could make it. What arrived was most certainly not a French martini. It was a bit bubbly, had lemon and was delicious! But just not what I ordered. It was delicious though! We tried the prosciutto pizza, sweetbreads, I had the duck and my partner had the chicken. Firstly- that pizza listed near the top of the menu led me to believe it was going to be a smaller pizza, near appetizer size. I was wrong! It was basically a full pizza and it was then that I realized we might be in for a lot of food. Yay. Instead of setting the pizza on the table, the gentleman who brought it used two forks to serve us each a slice before gently placing it down, even using a fork to best the cheese that didn't want to break away. Absolutely lovely! The sweetbreads were plated with mole and a few other items that i forget bc all I know is that I would eat sweetbreads in mole for breakfast, lunch, supper and dinner. Absolutely the pairing I didn't know I needed!! My duck was good but not nearly as exciting as expected. It was cooked well- which was expected. Overall delicious and beautifully executed but nothing more. No "wow" factor. My partner's chicken was the best she's ever had. But! We both agreed the pizza was the star of the show and already made plans to order it for takeaway after work. The dessert options heavily favored chocolate, but as I'm not a big fan of it, I just went with a glass of sherry. They brought out a slice of complimentary cheesecake for our anniversary which was thoughtful and kind especially since I didn't care for chocolate. Overall- I can't wait to come back in 2023. We had dinner at Spago last night and our server, Conrad made our dining experience fun and extra special. Thank you so much Conrad for being so awesome and friendly. We will only ask for you from now on when we eat here because you truly know how to be the ultimate in drink suggestions and food and desserts. Your many years at Spagos shows because you're professional and welcoming and friendly. We started with the signature smoked salmon pizza! It was divine and melted in your mouth with a perfectly crisp crust. All the flavors made you feel like you were enjoying the best lox bagel but elevated to Wolfgang style. Then we shared the squid ink pasta and the pea agnolotti ... two perfect pastas. They were rich and creamy but felt light and the flavors complemented each other perfectly. We also had the martini classic lemon crisp and the dirty martini.. icy cold like we enjoy them with the most stem delicate glass... very decco. Finally for dessert, Conrad suggested the soufflé with strawberries and sorbet combination that was warm and cold and blended beautifully together... excellent desert!!! We also were given a complementary plate of fresh mini desserts. A gorgeous plate of mouth watering lemon meringue pies, mandelains, chocolate chip cookies. And other sweets. I also wanted to thank Tobie, the lovely PR manager at Spago. She was so gracious and welcomed us and thanked us for choosing Spago to dine at for my birthday celebration. All the special touches we received last night made our dining experience extra memorable and so for those reasons I'd go back any time of the week to dine and have that feeling again. It's nice to know that fine dining can still be fun and welcoming and not snooty. Everyone at Spago last night gave us the best service and I truly appreciate it. read more
