This the best dentist office! The receptionist is very friendly and helpful and she remembers me by name when I call from my work number!! The clinic itself is clean and modern. Each dental room has a massage chair and a tv. It is nice to receive such personal attention and the tv is a great distraction. At my last visit they took pictures of my teeth and reviewed them with me on the tv screen. This helped to show how my teeth grinding was afffecting my gumline. Dr. Patel is very informative and this is a great example of how she goes beyond what other dentists do. Dr. Patel did everything from the cleaning, exam, polishing, cavity filling to the sealant and flouride. She was very gentle and explained what she was doing along the way. I was told to lift my arm if I felt any discomfort which I did not. My previous filling had broken off and she fixed it free of charge. She put a numbing gel on my gums before injecting the numbing agent. She gave the numbing agent plenty of time to set in before repairing my cavity. I was experiencing cold sensitivity and she put a sealant on the area for free because it was from work done by her relief dentist (maternity leave). I have referred many coworkers here who have all had a great experiences also. Not only is the care top-notch, but they also give you an estimate without asking so you know what you might have to pay out of pocket. I highly recommend Sparrow Dental for your oral health. They take time with you and ensure all your concerns are answered before leaving. I started to get a couple canker sores and had assumed the one on my lip was just that... a canker sore. I researched [read: Googled, like a normal human being] and found a laser treatment that some dentists do. My dentist doesn't do it, but suggested Nimisha Patel DDS, at Sparrow Dental. They got me in within hours and the doctor let me know the one on my lip was, in fact, my first cold sore. She explained everything to me and gave me SO MUCH information (including the fact that 90% of people have HSV-1). She made me feel better about the issue and then treated my sore. After I left, the pain started to return. I called for a second treatment (she said I may need another one) and had an appointment for the day after my first treatment/next day. She even called to make sure I was doing okay, the day after my second treatment. *Note: I don't think I ever called her back - should do that soon!* This institution was VERY CLEAN, friendly, welcoming, easy to get in to, etc. I was so impressed with Sparrow that I considered switching dentists! I will DEFINITELY be seeing Dr Patel, the next time I get a canker and/or cold sore! I solely joined Yelp to write a review about how great Sparrow Dental is! After spending years searching through a myriad of dentists, this one is worth the visit. I've been to five dentists in the past seven years, and no company has matched my every need for what I've been looking for. Dr. Patel and her attentive staff accommodated my every need. My previous dentist downtown had me wait two months to finally join their list, and when I did it took me another three months to get an appointment. Under the same insurance I was added to Sparrow Dental's list in under a week. Afterwards, I went in for an appointment as my schedule permitted two weeks later... and I could have had an appointment earlier if I wanted to as well. Not only was scheduling easy, but Sparrow has a TV over their dentist chairs while the staff carefully takes care of every need. They ask important questions, provide valuable insight to your dental work, and leave you with a smile (and a great looking one at that). This dentist's office is simply the best. I was able to easily make an appointment with them via ZocDoc. When I showed up for my cleaning, I had to wait zero (0) minutes! Honestly, that has never happened to me at a dentist's or doctor's office before. The hygenist was personable, fast, and thorough. Quite frankly, she is a magician, as she was able to clean some stains from between my teeth which my last TWO different dentists were not. Dr. Patel was clear and accurate with what she saw when she examined me (I know I need a root canal, she didn't belabor the point when I told her that). My absolute favorite part of this visit was that no one tried to up-sell me any additional services. No "deep cleaning", no whitening treatments, no Invisalign, nothing! I LOVE THAT. My last two dentists (both in Lincoln Park) offices tried at every turn to sell me on things I did not want, going so far as to tell me I had multiple cavities that needed immediate treatment. I love that the folks at Sparrow are interested in getting your teeth clean and pretty, and not focused on how to make money off of you. I only wish I had found Sparrow sooner! read more

My first appointment with Sparrow Dental was today. I did not have the chance to meet Dr. Patel yet. However, the girls at the front desk are very nice, informative and welcoming. The place is extremely clean and shines with the latest tools and technologies. I am not sure how Gentle other Hygienists are, but Rachel understands sensitive teeth/mouths. She is also very informative and explained everything related to my oral health status and what my insurance covers before starting my treatment. They offered a payment plan for what I have to pay out of pocket, which was also nice. I would highly recommend Sparrow Dental to anyone. Will update this review as needed. I just moved to Chicago from the East Coast and have to find a whole new set of doctors. I'm pretty freaked out just by the thought of going to the dentist, so it's really important that my new dentist's office staff make me feel really calm and comfortable. Sparrow Dental is awesome. I walked in and the office was clean and modern. The receptionist is super nice, friendly and chatty. I had to fill out a little bit of paperwork and waited maybe 10 minutes or so, which is pretty reasonable actually. We talked the whole time & before I knew it, it was my turn. There's a TV in the room, and they use the newest technology, which made me realize that my former dentist was seriously old-school. Again, all the staff were super friendly and made sure I was comfortable. The seat had a MASSAGER, for goodness sake! Overally, I can't say that I ENJOYED being at the dentist because, really, who does? But it was the best dental check-up I've had in years. Sparrow Dental is a keeper for sure. read more

I went to sparrow dental honestly because of the neighborhood. Sometimes to me it seems the how the neighborhoods are is what you get in a practice. When I initially called I spoke with the front desk (Don't want to put her on front street) she tried her best to accommodate my hectic schedule to the fullest. Then she was so quick to call me back for an appt that was a cancellation that best suited me & I was able to be seen and get my boyfriend in for an appt as well. I had 2 prior Dentist telling me I needed a deep clean, and this one told me all I needed was a debridement. I was relieved. After she was done my teeth and mouth period felt so fresh and so clean. Its been almost a week and it feels awesome. I am super happy with the work that was done and the girls there are GREAT. Very attentive, caring, sympathetic, etc. It was an awesome visit. I would highly recommend Sparrow Dental. I had recently switched to them after a poor experience with my last dentist, and I am so glad I did. The space itself was very clean and up to date. Their staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. Everything from the online booking through the service itself was seamless. They were right on time for my appointment, were professional, and thoroughly explained my treatment/cleaning. I felt that their cleaning was much more in depth than ones I had previously received. Additionally, the follow up services they recommended made much more sense than the dentist I had previously gone to. I really appreciated that the doctor suggested some affordable teeth grinding solutions for me - and wanted to make sure those didn't work prior to considering the more expensive route of a custom mouth guard. Honestly, one of the best dental offices I have been to. Their staff is SO nice and so helpful to tell me all that is happening with my teeth. I am currently in-between insurance and I was really nervous to go somewhere with the thought that they would try to push for a procedure. They were completely logical in their advice and gave me medicine to get me until the start of my insurance (which was a mere 12 days). Furthermore, their $59 exam and x-ray special really shows that they care more for the patient than a buck. They know that some people have situations where they have no insurance, but need to be seen- and this is definitely an affordable option. Warm friendly dental offices are hard to come by- and then when you add in the TV's and massage chairs- it puts this place at the TOP of the list. Once I start my insurance I will definitely have them be my primary dental office. read more

This is the best dental office I've ever been to!! I love that you can watch tv from the dental chair. The dentist is so soft spoken and knowledgable. Not intimidating like some dentists can be. She examines your mouth and takes pictures of problem areas then shows them to you while explaining what is going on. It really gives you a better understanding, I love it! They also review your insurance before doing any work to give you accurate, up front costs and you never get a bill later saying you owe more money. She really cares about your oral hygiene and she made phone calls to oral surgeons before referring me to one to see if there was anything else she or I could do before having to make a trip to a specialist. I went in for a cleaning today and told her about a chipped tooth I had and she made time during my appointment to fix it. Amazing!! read more

Best dentist I've gone to...EVER. I was super impressed by the friendliness of her staff and the quality of her equipment. I have never been to a dentist with such state-of-the-art equipment. She used a very cool tool that took high quality, color pictures of my teeth to show me some problems that I had. She also explained very thoroughly all of the findings she saw on my xrays. I asked for a picture of the xrays and she was more than happy to print one for me. I asked the doctor about removing one of my permanent retainers and she provided me with a no-pressure quote and a couple of different options. I also want to give props to the dental hygienist that worked on cleaning my teeth. She gave me very useful information and cleaned my teeth nearly pain-free. Had a new patient exam at Sparrow Dental yesterday. I never really had many expectations for dental care: clean my teeth, find a cavity, fill the cavity, whatever. Well, I have expectations now. First, the hygienist, Molly, cleaned my teeth more thoroughly than any has before. Not only that, she was telling my my dental history as she was cleaning my teeth. She new her stuff by sight like a doctor would. Finally, Dr. Patel examined my teeth and gave me advice about brushing that all my previous dentists had overlooked. After not seeing a dentist for 10 years, I was very nervous. Adding on the fact I have general anxiety, I was EXTREMELY nervous about going back. Dr.Shah has made it very comfortable for me to jump back into seeing the dentist. She is very gentle, friendly and patient. Unlike other dentists she makes sure you are okay many times while working on your teeth. I have had 5+ cavities filled (painlessly) by her and although I can't say I enjoy having dental work done, she has made me not dread having dental work done anymore. Every year we have a new dentist because of insurance issues. I was working next door and Sparrow Dental was having their Open House. I attended and fell in love with the place and Sonji. I convinced my Husband and Son to try a new dentist . They both have been happy. Dr. Patel is very thorough with her examinations and is ready to answer any questions or concerns you have. I had a cleaning by the hygienist Suniya today and it was wonderful! I have had many cleanings by many different hygienists but both times I've been seen at Sparrow Dental have been the most thorough ones. She talked to me the whole time to insure I was comfortable especially in my sensitive areas and really took her time. She also recommended a special fluoride treatment to help me in the areas I have gum recession to help with sensitivity. This is an excellent dental surgery. Dr. Patel and her staff are always very professional and so friendly. They take the time to speak to you and fully explain any procedures that need to be done. Dr. Patel makes her recommendations but never pushes you to get any work done that you don't want to do. Previous visits to the dentist have been painful and that's just the teeth cleaning!
