This is the sister restaurant of Cafe Roze in East Nashville, and they have several things in common (fun menu, bright ambiance, beautiful decor) while still maintaining their own unique feeling. Parking is a wild ride ... this shopping center is busy busy busy, even on a weekday. Thankfully there is an underground garage option that's free and easy to access if you can't find a spot in the lot. Although they have plenty of coffee/tea options, we ordered a couple of Diet Cokes for our lunch, which were served ice cold with lime. For my meal, I ordered the Grain Bowl with added chicken, which is the definition of a delicious hot lunch! My friend ordered the Cobb Salad, which also looked divine and is a huge portion size. Truly all of their food options sounded great, and I'll definitely be back to try some more of their menu soon!

Our daughter was in town - had not seen her since Christmas - so we celebrated with a special dinner at Sperry's. Wonderful meal and service. Though we had made a reservation for the dining room, we decided we'd rather eat in the lively bar area when we got there, and the hostess most graciously made this happen for us with a minimum wait. Got a great table and ordered a bottle of fantastic wine: Lucente Super Tuscan. Best deal on the wine list ($65 and tastes like a $150 wine), and Sperry's is the only restaurant in town where I've seen it on the list. My daughter has been on a vegetarian diet, so she ordered the big 16 oz NY Strip - and said it was the best thing she had eaten in months. My wife ordered the stuffed sole special and found it tantalizingly good. I had an "Oscarized" rib eye - which means it is topped with crab meat and Bernaise sauce. This is not on the menu, but any steak at Sperry's can be Oscarized, and I highly recommend it. Made a great steak even better. Service was unfailingly good throughout our meal. The sad part is that the best thing I can say about this place is the fact that my water was never empty. When we walked in (we had a reservation) I saw on the screen of their computer that our table had been given away and we were seated behind the fireplace. Now, I know you'll look at that and say 'oh well behind the fireplace, that's not bad' well it was. I was between the wall and the side of the fireplace with a velvet rope to my back. Not the best way to be treated when I had a reservation and not just walking in. Then as if that was not enough the waiter didn't read the specials to us then we waited for over 20 minutes for a poorly cooked steak with no apology for our wait. The seasoning was awful ... we were thankful for the au jus and horseradish sauces which only mildly covered the overly burnt and under cooked meat. I will not be returning and I would suggest you go somewhere that knows how to cook a steak such as Logans or Stoney River. read more

I had a great dining experience at Sperry's Restaurant. The ambiance was classic, reminiscent of an old-school chophouse, which added to the charm. Since it was a Friday night, the restaurant was quite busy, but the service remained attentive and pleasant. I started with the French onion soup, followed by a wedge salad, and then the New York strip--all of which were excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection, and every dish was flavorful and well-prepared. The fresh, house-made bread they served was also outstanding--warm, delicious, and a perfect start to the meal. Sperry's in Belle Meade is a longtime favorite of ours....so many reasons ....the food, the staff, decor, etc.....get the crab cakes...As well the escargot swimming in garlic butter....the lamb chops are the best I have ever had...oh hell, everybody get something different and share the damn things!! It was a Wednesday night, so it wasn't busy at all. First of all, the Hermitage Hotel is gorgeous and the decor downstairs is too. Light but not too bright, with very mid century modern vibes. Our server (Zach) was fantastic throughout the whole process. We both started the night with the Milk Punch (sweet, smooth, tastes like the holidays). The table bread was sooo tasty: salty and soft. For apps, we got the egg toast (crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside, salty on top, delicious all around), the crispy sushi (the crunch mixed with the soft sea trout was a great juxtaposition), and the summer corn soup (ohhh boy was it good). The mushroom risotto (creamy and lemony) and prime beef tenderloin (perfectly cooked with a great sear) rounded out the meal. We got the side of mashed potatoes too, but it was sadly more like a potato puree than mashed potatoes. We ended with the warm chocolate cake (honestly, not that great. Good enough to finish, not good enough to order again) and the sour cherry pie (liked it way better than the cake, but the pistachio ice cream tasted artificial). The overall experience was truly amazing and worth five stars. And ask for Zach, because he will definitely take good care of you!
