First time to try Sperry's last week. We were able to walk in a get a table on a Wednesday night- not many open- and you will definitely need reservations on the weekends. It was pretty packed for a weeknight . We had a nice server who was informative and answered our questions. The shrimp cocktail was delicious and the atomic cocktail sauce is the appropriate name-great spicy flavor. I ordered the filet to give their specialty a try- I was underwhelmed. It was over cooked- I asked for medium rare- and was was flavored ok but definitely less stellar than some of the other high end steak houses. My fiancé got the ribeye- very marbled- but the blackened seasoning just didn't seem to fit the steak. The salad bar is a nice touch and I would recommend you try it- fresh and lots of choices. Definitely old school and a local- Belle mead/Green Hills vibe to it. Looks like lots of regulars. It has been a must go for a lot of years and I recommend giving it a try. Good place and may go again but several other places in Nashville for better steaks than we had on a random Wednesday night. read more

Never a bad experience here. The food is always great and the service even better. I have dreams about their banana foster!

We immediately greeted and sat with minutes at a four top. My in-laws who both turned 80 in November/October both loved the old school vibe and decor. The service provided by Scott was great and he was always attentive to our table as well as encouraging a great time. My in-laws ordered the filet mignon with the 10 dollar happy hour escargot and loved it all! Fresh bread was served and we used that for sopping up the juice of that app. My wife enjoyed the salmon Florentine which was prepared perfectly. I had the 14oz ribeye that was cooked to perfection as well as the mashed potatoes. We also chose to hit the salad bar which featured frozen salad plates with a large amount of fresh ingredients to have everything you like. The entire wait staff and leadership team ensured that we enjoyed every moment of this incredible experience. I have been in Nashville since 1997 and I have never had better meal, time, service that was worth what we enjoyed last night. Thank you to the entire team! read more

Staple of old Nashville. While the food isn't the best it's solid, the drinks are always well prepared, and the customer service has always been attentive. But the main reason one goes is the atmosphere, as old school as it gets in Nashville. read more

I haven't been to Sperry's in quite some time. To start, the cocktail drinks were done well. The crab cakes were very good; more meaty than most. The bread was good, you know? It was bread. The Caesar salads were also good and, well, a typical salad. The wife had the pork chop. Well cooked, juicy with a nice mango sauce. However, there was a propane type flavor as opposed to a grilled flavor. (At least, that's how it seemed to us.) My bacon wrapped filet was perfect as was the lobster. A good loaded potato went with it. For dessert I had the Snowball Sunday paired with a very good dessert cocktail. Our sever, Seth, was very good The place was as I remembered it, noisy. Reasonably priced for what we had with cocktails. It's very popular and, while they ask for proper attire we saw plenty of tee shirts and jeans. You'll like it. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars but I will round up. read more

My new favorite restaurant (may be of all time). I loved the ambiance, the food, and the service. Cannot go wrong here. I almost don't want to boast about too much lest I won't get a reservation as easily as I did the first time. First timer. Great ambiance. Reminds me of many restaurants I've been to over those past 40 years. Server John was fantastic, Lobster bisque and shrimp n grits very good, salad bar on point with lots of options, bananas foster 5 , creamed spinach was good but doesn't need the piles of bread crumbs on top, unfortunately and surprisingly the most important thing, the bone in filet was definitely a disappointment. It was a poor cut, fatty, some fibrous bands and chewy. We ordered it medium rare and it was cooked appropriately just an inferior steak. read more

We are in town from Chicago and Sperrys was our first stop. Everything was awesome! I've been to most of the top steakhouses in Chicago and sperrys tops them all. The prime rib was amazing. The salad bar with homemade blue cheese dressing was fantastic. It's has an old school supper club ambiance. Best of all was our waitress julia. Perfectly cooked and tender steaks, possibly the best crab cake I've ever had. Wife had lobster tail, said it was delicious. First time having broccoli with hollandaise, I recommend it. Foe dessert we had the creme brulee both were very good. All of this for a very reasonable price and very relaxed atmosphere. No wonder they have been in business for so long. read more

Very seasoned steak house go-er here. I've been to the best of the best around the country. I've been coming to Nashville every month on business and always try spots based on client recommendations. Sperry's, when you enter, has the feel of an incredibly historic old school steak house. However... that's it. The ambience upon entry is the climax of the dining experience. "World class salad bar" was essentially Pizza Hut salad bar. Green Goddess dressing looked neon blue with food dye. Service was horrible... they didn't clear plates. When they brought our steaks they were very very thin. Looked actually strange how thin they were. Also... they never brought extra plates. I didn't have silverware and the waiter told me we only have a couple of steak knives left to share ( I had 5 people in addition to myself at the table). Bizarre. Would never recommend this place. Perrys (just found out it was a chain and was shocked) blew us away. Way better choice and better meal. read more

It's our 1st time at the Belle Meade location & it did not disappoint! The restaurant is the same decor as in Cool Springs. The staff were Amazing, but it's the COOKS who deserve ALL the glory! The Stilton Cheese soup looked interesting & WOW!!! It was noted to have bacon, tomato & spinach. It was De-lish!!! It seemed to have a seafood base to it & I could have had it in a mug!! The salad bar was super fresh (as usual) & the King Crab Legs were sweet, succulent & plentiful!! 15/10. Will come again!! read more

Incredibly disappointed with the service this evening. We stopped by for drinks & appetizers during happy hour. Not sure why, but the bartender was atrocious. Rude, argumentative, smug, inattentive. If I had to put one element on top, it would be our server, Jonathon. Can say enough good things about his performance tonight. The crab cake was wonderful. The king crab on top of the filet, was probably the best bite of the night. The only less than perfect item we had from the menu would be the mango sausage mushrooms.
