For a new take on red curry, try the Bangkok Noodle: A classic red curry composition but with noodles instead of rice plus a generous amount of broth, served in a bowl akin to pho. Ordered heat 4 of 5 and had my world lit up (to the good). Loved the meal and am definitely coming back. read more

Food was great! Went with a friend and since the area is a little small it took 20 minutes to get a table. The god was definitely worth it!

I used to love Spice when it first opened. Tonight was somewhat disappointing. First of all, the server tried to seat us at the tiniest table in the place despite the fact the restaurant was virtually empty. Then at least 4 different people approached our table asking us if we wanted things. Not sure who our real server was. The crispy spring rolls arrived and were decent. The Pad Kra Prow, spicy basil chicken, was quite good, although there were way too many inedible giant pieces of unseeded, undercooked jalapeño peppers scattered throughout it. You had to really pick through it to avoid the peppers. We also ordered black pepper beef. The grayish beef was a little too thick and weird textured and then there were the abundant peppercorns, very bitter and not enjoyable to me. I ordered steamed vegetables as a side but they were simply awful. The carrots were bitter and the broccoli was tasteless. The waitstaff seemed a little disorganized and poorly trained. The last straw was when the server attempted to scan our credit card on the bulky machine he sat right down on the table, then announced the battery was dead. Very odd. I don't see us going back to Spice anytime soon. read more

Food is okay, service is terrible. The serving staff I spoke with to correct my to-go order was very helpful. That young man helped out a lot and is deserving of kudos. Now for the management... I don't have a good word to say about them. They are incredibly rude! I suppose they simply don't enjoy making their customers happy. They raised the prices of the Kao Soi, by $4. And now apparently they don't offer white rice with the same (now $15) dish!? I'll gladly look for better Thai food in the DFW area. Any suggestions? read more

After going to Spice for a few times, I have decided to have this place a solid 3 stars. Staff: they are so friendly and nice. :) I absolutely love them. Atmosphere: it is family-friendly also nice for a date with someone! Food: It is... OK. The price is higher than your average Thai food. I felt like their food is too sweet/salty in general. I know, I know - before you say something like "Well, Thai food is supposed to be very flavorful!" No, I get that. The dishes here ARE flavorful, but the flavors are not balanced. It is flavorful yet still too sweet (If you get what I mean). Also, I normally get a 3/5 spicy level in a Thai restaurant because it would give the dish a nice kick to it. However, it was not spicy (still too sweet) even at a level 3. Overall: experience there is always pleasant! However, I don't think I would go back for the food. :/ If you want some nice Thai food, go to Thai Terrance instead. You pay less and the food is better in my opinion. read more

I ordered pad Thai and they gave me no spice automatically without asking. I assume that because I'm white they thought I didn't like spicy food and just didn't even ask. I also went on a FIRST DATE here and they HEAVILY put the pressure on us to leave the restaurant MULTIPLE times after we ate. Delicious new addition to Magnolia! The service needs a bit of practice. It's a new restaurant getting service and organizational legs for sure. There was some confusion on reservations and if my party of four could be seated right away or not. We didn't have a reservation but others who called in or something did. After we were seated, a bunch of people came in and they had long waits. Perhaps because of this the first waiter seemed to rush us to put in an order. We didn't. We asked for more time and we ended up getting back our original waiter, who was kinder. The checks took forever to come and I ended up getting up to ask for them. But the food is delicious and affordable. I will def be going again. read more

This place can get busy during the lunch and dinner hours and parking is a challenge, but the food is great! They also have a small bar if you want beer, wine, sake, or a cocktail. I always get Pad Woon Sen (because there is no rice, it is mung bean noodles). At lunch it comes with salad and eggroll and dinner is a larger portion. I get it with broccoli sometimes. This is one of my favorite Thai food restaurants in the Fort Worth area. I usually always get the pad woosen with chicken spicy level 4 but I also like to get the spicy chili oil on the side in case it needs an extra kick. My husband and I really enjoy the crab ragoons, their egg rolls, and pretty much any other of their appetizers. My favorite appetizer is by far the spring rolls with the peanut sauce, so so good. My husband always gets the red curry with brown rice and loves it, he adds extra bamboo. They have a pretty good selection of beers., it really is just a perfect place to bring friends, family, have a date or to just pick up lunch on a weekday. Definitely take a look at their lunch specials, they are really good and have good portions for a lower price. Customer service is just ok, I find most Thai food restaurants don't have spectacular service which I'm fine with as long as the food is good. On some occasions when I walk in I see a child doing homework or playing on their ipad sitting at one of the tables near where the employees sit. He is clearly an employee's son. I really truly love this place! I like my food to burn my face off so, this place lives up to the name! Get 'level 5' everything!! and then cover it in Chili Oil!! Also, if for some reason you're not a fan of spicey food, you can be boring here. They don't mind. They have the best tofu of any place, ever! My thai food virginity has been taken, and it was good...For real though, Spice set the bar pretty high. Spice is the new kid on the block and is here to claim the corner it rests on. I'll start off with the lovely, calm atmosphere that subtly screams cute lunch date. The menu isn't intimidating, so if you're new to the game like I was, and wanna play it safe with beef&broccoli, or maybe some orange chicken, you're good homie! I was trying to impress Kendall by being adventurous and tried curry for the first time. I ordered the pangang curry with chicken, an egg roll, lil salad and a side of brown rice for less than $10. You can also heat up your curry using their 1-5 spice scale. I played it safe at 2, and still needed a few glasses of water. Don't let that bother you, I was very satisfied with the way everything turned out, and am definitely a fan of curry from today on. This place is still young and learning to walk, so be kind and fair to Spice. This place is pretty spectacular! Came here for a date night tonight with my boyfriend. I like the decor, soft purples, casual-upscale light fixtures, lots of tables for the space, kind of loud. The restrooms were well-kept, clean with nice design elements. Great atmosphere all around. We ordered two appetizers, the Crab Rangoons and Bamboo shrimp. Both were great! Perfectly fried rangoons with this really tasty sweet and sour sauce, and the bamboo shrimp were wrapped in a wonton wrapper and fried to perfection. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, not rubbery like they can be. I ordered Veggie Pad Thai and Ben ordered Massaman Curry. We both loved our dishes. This was maybe the best pad thai i've ever had. Lots of veggies, and the sauce was perfectly sweet, and thick enough to coat the noodles. Very very good. With water, the bill came out to somewhere around $40. The service was good. Our water glasses were regularly filled, but our waitress wasn't overbearing. Great experience, can't wait to be back! read more

Service lower my rating. The food was good but the waitstaff was a jumble of good and bad. No one was great nor accommodating. They serious need to do better job about training and ensuring that everyone on their staff understand customer service. We had the "beef jerky" is was awesome. The BBQ pork was cook perfectly. Bacon wrapped scallops were cooked perfectly. The pepper steak was also great. We ordered level 3 and it was spicy but amazing on the basil beef. I'll go back DEF get reservations. ya know, I would love to give this place 5 stars but the service is not good. my 2 friends and I came for dinner on a Saturday night. we made a reservation but there was no need. it was fairly busy but just the right amount for some AWESOME food and great conversation at a great location on the magnolia strip. however, we had at least 4 different servers during our 1 hour meal. the first was a VERY grumpy man that unfortunately set the unsettling mood for the night. Spice is by the people who own Thai Select on Hulen... Honestly, i can't tell anything different, food/taste-wise, between the two. I think the biggest difference between Thai Select and Spice by Thai Select is the hipper interior and location (Magnolia has more or less come to be the hip foodie part of Fort Worth). And yes, I'll fully acknowledge that Spice does succeed when it comes to reaching a certain demographic in Fort Worth, but I just wish their food was a tad different compared to their first location; heck, they even do the same pyramid-shaped mound of rice here like they do on Hulen. All in all, I guess if you like Thai Select's food but want to eat it in a more hip space in a more hip area of town, then go to Spice. read more

Cons-Could have been bad ordering on our part, but our three hot dishes tasted a lot alike. Oddly, a staffer started dusting the ceiling a/c registers during a busy dinner service. The idea of all that dust floating around our food was bad. They stopped when we pointed out the risk of food contamination. I like this place. Another hood walkable. Spicy beef salad is delicious. Love the sauce. Tofu massaman is also good. Only complaint I have about the massaman was the last time I ordered it, I got 3 pieces of potatoes. 3. I'd expect more for a full entree. So food is good. Why 3 stars? I always order to go then walk my dog over to pick it up. The two occasions I have picked up from them, they said 10 minutes. It takes me about 10 minutes to walk there. I always end up waiting another 10-15 minutes. Extra waiting is fine, I don't have much of a problem with that. But I got to watch my dog, too. Don't say a wait time and always over extend it by double. So will I order again? Of course. This place tastes great. But I've never had food on time and the staff is never that friendly. read more

Pretty much the same food as Thai Select, just a tad bit different from Thailicious. In fact the garnishings are exactly the same, even some menus items. The only difference between the three, price. Additionally, you'd expect a place like spice to have "levels of spice" like so many other Thai food places, including Thai Select, but no, its only available on some dishes... But, if your looking for Thai on magnolia, this is the spot. Beef and Chicken are well cooked, not dry and crumbly, shrimp is clean, un-tailed, and not rubbery. portions were great and sodas were nice too. Spring rolls are pretty green if your into that, their peanut sauce is obviously a custom concoction. Definitely worth a try if your into Thai food. The spice levels from what I hear, are inconsistent. My friends have all mentioned it. Staff seems legitimate, service was great. Very attentive to how full my coke was, pretty much all you can ask for. Pho is way over priced, never tired it tho... I will check be going next time I'm on magnolia putting up flyers. read more

The food and atmosphere at Spice are great. I just ordered take-out tonight and have a complaint. They were super busy tonight. I was drinking at Proper next door. They don't have food, so my friends and I often order take-out from Spice. We usually sit outdoors and Spice has been very nice and carried our meal over to us. It's hot tonight, so we were sitting inside. I doubted they would/could go as far as bringing our order to us inside Prosper. Therefore, I walked over, order, paid and waited. After 15 minutes my server came out with a take-out order. The timing seemed right, but it wasn't mine. I then decided to leave my numbers with a request for them to text me and I'd come back over. My server was in the kitchen, so I told the blonde woman with large dark glasses my plan. She said, "I'm too busy to text anyone tonite". I said, "That's fine. You are not even my server. Please just give my number to her". She said, "She's too busy too." I got offended at this point. Our bill was $58. I have a $12 tip...on a take-out order. I don't know what the convention is on tipping take-out, but the 20% tip as if it was full table service seems like it could have earned me a text. (30 seconds vs multiple trips to a table) I was a server for ten years in my youth. I like to be generous. This (seeming to me) resistance to a fairly simple request (especially since I didn't make it until I'd been away from my social occasion next door) frankly made me mad. I hate rejection and, therefore, hate to make any kind of special request ever. Hmm. Her response is the very thing I try to avoid. I played the "tip card". Not particularly proud of that but felt like a little context would be appropriate here. I said, "I gave a $12 tip on TAKE-OUT. I don't think the 30-60 minute text is asking too much." No surrender was forthcoming. She double down. Glared at me and said, "No text. We are VERY busy"! I came back with, "A TWELVE dollar tip...Think about it..." and raised my eyebrows. Fortunately, my server walked out with my order at that point. I am not a high-maintenance, kvetchy kind of customer. I've never resorted to "tattling" via Yelp, but...jeez! I know the blonde gal with glasses is young, but so was I when I was in the service industry. She has a lot to learn about the attitude of service. Went here for lunch last Friday. We were seated immediately. The food was great. Probably the best egg roll I've had in years. But our server mixed up the spiciness levels on two of our entrees. As you can imagine, one member of my party was disappointed and the other could barely eat his meal. If only the server had ever come back to check on us, he may have found our empty glasses and we could've mentioned the mix up. Pretty good food. We only shared some of their appetizers, but enjoyed what we had. We ordered the spring rolls, lettuce wraps, and I had a bowl of the tom kha Kai, which was super delicious! I am not a cilantro fan, and there is cilantro in the spring rolls. I asked for no cilantro, but they said it wasn't possible since the spring rolls were pre-rolled. It ended up not being that strong in the spring rolls, so I was happy about that! I would definitely get that soup again, though, if I come back. read more
