Consistently disappoints me. I've had several bad experiences with Spinners over the years, but only two come to mind at the moment: 1. Ordered a cheese and pineapple pizza for delivery. I get a call back, 'Did you want pineapple on that pizza? Me: Yes. 'Uh...OK, thanks'. When the pizza arrived it was clear that they forgot the pineapple, then put it on after it was done, and then rebaked it, resulting in a nearly burnt pizza. I was pissed but did not complain. 2. December 2018 - Went into restaurant, ordered food, told them we would eat there, and they said they would bring it to us when it was done. Time passes...more time passes. 35 minutes later, we finally ask about our food. 'Sorry, we thought it was going to be picked up.' Food was still warmish, but my daughters hot dogs were like beef jerky. Clearly they had been cooking for hours. Asked for new hotdogs. Brought out two slightly less beef jerky textured hot dogs. They did apologize for the mixup. While the food is generally of OK quality, my impression is that they hire the youngest staff possible (highschool-aged) so they can pay as little as possible, and the resulting service suffers from inexperience/lack of training. If the food was reasonably priced, I'd consider it a fair tradeoff, but it is not a great value: I paid ~$41 for two dinners, 2 hotdogs, 2 drinks, a smoothie, and a bag of chips. After the last screw-up, my wife announced that she was done with Spinners, and we won't be going back. read more

Spinners thrives because it is the only food option for at least two miles in any direction, not counting Stewarts. For a West Coast gal like myself, the pizza is passable although not great. For New York? There is so much better out there. The crust was tough, the sauce was bland and there wasn't enough cheese for my liking. The only redeeming quality in my view is the superb balsamic vinegar used in the vinaigrette dressing. It is smooth and not acidic. I didn't realize cheap balsamic could be so divine, and as a result of this dinner I set forth to procure better household balsamic for myself. Spinners was very busy when we were there. They have a changing variety of cakes and a large selection of side dishes. I was impressed by the size of their salads and creative pizza toppings. As the first reviewer noted in 2008, the menu is huge and looks to be unchanged 8 years later. The tasty vinegar could not erase the memory of the pizza for me to return. I will travel a little farther next time for better pizza. read more

Ordered a pickup meal on Mealeo to be picked up at 730pm. I'm pretty sure they made the food at around 430 when I ordered it and left it to sit under some heat lamps. The sub was soggy and gross, the fries had condensation in the packaging, and my ceasar salad was a pre-packaged and cellophane wrapped handful of romaine lettuce and shreds of parmesan with two mysterious lemon wedges and a pack of ceasar dressing. Since I moved to Albany (within walking distance of Spinner's) I have made them a part of my usual take-out routine. While Spinner's pizza isn't the best, and varies from absolutely delicious to pretty "meh", they have a mammoth menu and many of the other things on it are quite good. They're usually swamped around lunch time, but that is because they have cheap lunch specials (two slices of pizza and a soda for $4-5 depending on toppings) and quick service. My roommate and I are absolutely addicted to their steak sandwiches. Steak, peppers, and onions covered with provolone cheese (I switch this out for mozzarella) mmmm! I absolutely recommend you give one a shot if it is up your alley. They're available in full and half size. read more

Disappointed the past few times I have gone- so I stopped. We used to order pizza only from here but No more. The pizza is super doughy and almost always undercooked- gooey- or burned and still doughy in the center. We even tried ordering sandwiched but the ingredients were very sparse and the food was not made with care its messy doesn't look nice and falls apart. So sad, spinners used to be so good. After the move to the larger space we tried the sit down service- we should not have.. The employees were really rude and not welcoming and messed up our order. I have been ordering from them for years. The pizza was bland-sauce didn't have much flavor and could have been cooked a little longer. The mozzerela sticks were burnt and missing cheese-bit into them and it was mostly dough. I also asked for the chicken parm dinner without the salad and told the person we still wanted the pasta and the garlic bread. Surely Spinners is able to stay in business by being the only such take-out place in the direct vicinity. The pizza is atrocious, with rubbery, excessively doughy crust, and barely passable sauce. And the grim, flavorless choppings spread atop the "Veggie Lover's" pie were nearly enough to make this long-time vegetarian question his dietary choices. I'm relatively convinced the citizens of Albany don't realize pizza isn't just a food drunk people eat. Pizza can and should be a great experience. I've tried a handful of "pizza" places here at this point and they are all similar. Bland dough, bland sauce, bland cheese...totally unremarkable. This place features more of the same. Now all I had was a slice of pepperoni with extra cheese to give them a test drive. So I can't speak for anything else they serve, but based on their pizza which is also overpriced, I won't be returning. The girls at the counter seemed too busy. I received my slice after looking the menu over and realizing pizza was considerably cheaper than I had been charged. I asked one of them about it and she said "ohhhh, yeah...our menu is always changing and prices are always going up, so that's an old one". Hhmmmm, not what I like to hear in a business. read more

Super bowl Sunday 2020 was the biggest breakdown of business I have ever personally witnessed in an establishment. We called at 2 for a pickup order of 30 wings for 4:30 (game was at 6:30, so we assumed this was enough courtesy time). After arriving at 4:17, we were informed by the staff that our wings would be ready in 10 minutes. So we waited. 4:45 rolls around, and now there are 15 other customers waiting for their orders. 5:00 comes. Still waiting, and have now received a text letting us know our order is ready for pickup (clearly was not). 5:20 now comes. There are 25+ people now waiting on orders, some for more than an hour like us. During our time we have seen two wrong orders given to the incorrect customer, 8 orders placed to the side getting cold, and a complete and utter breakdown of communication. The entire time, the staff is accepting calls every two minutes and taking new orders. Our wings finally came out at 5:33, undercooked and subpar. I can honestly say there will never be a time when I will be a patron at Spinners Albany again. Super bowl Sunday or not, I had never witnessed anything like this, and hope I never will again. read more

Well....Spinner's is leveraging their' position....but hires kids to do everything.....they're trying to get their' first "date to the prom"...and people want quality pizza. Their' pizza used to be good....probably as a fx of having a good professional cook...with proper amounts of sauce, cheese and nice crust.....all of that is gone now..... The 6-cut pizza....is so small, it "floats around in the box now; for $9.62?!"....one can finish it before getting home, after a 4 mile ride home...and then one says...."where's the pizza....I'm sitll hungry?" No.....this is a "has-been place for pizza unless one is starving....I wish it wasn't so. Little Anthonies in Albany is much better now.....why? I have had Spinners for lunch at my work a few times and it was wonderful. But I ordered it for dinner tonight and was very disappointed. Their menu on DoorDash was not current so I got a call shortly after placing my order to change some of my food bc I ordered things not available. Everything was delivered in a quick manner but I received the wrong pizza, didn't receive extra sauces I was charged for, and everything was cold. I think I will stick to ordering here when it's paid for by my employer, not out of pocket.... read more

I've been eating here for years because it is just convient and close to my house. They have a wide selection, in the evening the place is dead and there is lots of room since their excellent renovation so it's a good hassle free place to go. Lunch forget about it's swamped with city workers etc. Most of their food and pastas are pretty good, salads great etc. the pizza is not by Albany standards there are just way better pizza places within a few blocks. My gripe is their delivery. If you call and the girl tells you to hold, just hang up. 90% of the time you will be on hold for five minutes then they just hang up on you. If this was an occasional issue I would never complain but it happens so often I get disgusted. It's just rude to hang up on your customers like that. I placed my 1st order from Spinners last Friday 4/20/28. My review is mixed. The pizza was very good. Fresh crust, plenty or toppings and cheese and thin but not droopy. The wings however we're totally over cooked and dried out. I ordered them crispy which may have been a mistake but crispy to me means the outside skin is nice and crispy and the inside is moist and cooked through. Debating on a re-order. Would like to give a better rating. Update: Finally got around to reorder. Pizza was spot on like before and the wings were nice and crispy outside and tender inside. Perfectly cooked and the hot sauce was tasty. 5 stars!!! Will order again soon. read more

Two stars might be a nicer rating than they deserve, but my vegan sister loves them so I'll try to not be too harsh. First off, we called Spinners at 7:23 pm and were put on hold, which is of course fair as they may have been busy. However we were on hold for 3 minutes, then completely hung up on with no warning or message which is unprofessional in and of itself. We called again at 7:27 pm and finally we put in our order of 1 personal vegan pizza, 1 regular (not vegan) cheese with pineapple pizza, and an order of vegan wings. Flash forward, it was 8:38 and we were hangry so we called again. The woman on the phone said they were backed up and our food was to be delivered in a matter of minutes so we thanked her and hung up. 1 minute passes and we get a call that it was outside. This tells us the woman did not know at all about the whereabouts of our order and simply told us something for us to believe in order to get us off the phone. Once again a highly unprofessional move. But we have our food now so we were going to let it slide. We sit to eat and the regular non vegan pizza blantantly has vegan cheese on it, but then the regular cheese slapped on top-showing that they made an error and instead of perhaps starting again and calling us to inform us of the issue they just attempted to cover it up. And no offense to vegans I've tried vegan cheese and it is not good in taste or in its glue like consistency. My family all complained and begged to never order from here again and began to name better places we should've done. I for one am a vegetarian so I really enjoy this place for its alternatives, but I am so disappointed in the service they provided tonight. So if it's thursday with a little rain and past 7, maybe consider a different pizza place. read more

We got pizza catered to us from Spinners today. Large cheesy pizzas. The vegetable one was awesome minus some of the raw onions and burnt broccoli. I know that this pizza is filling. I cannot comment or review the service or business as it came to us, but when it arrived it was hot and fresh, and the crust had a nice garlicky taste to it. I would recommend this pizza spot to those who work or live in the area. It's probably just as good in quality as my favorite Marino's near home in Schenectady. I will come here for pizza while I am in Albany. read more

I called them to request that I get the credit for the pepperoni back on my card, to which they said they would give me a credit "in their system," which meant I would have to utilize their awful services again. When I think of how to characterize this establishment, the phase Clown Car comes to mind. It's actually a Clown Pizzeria with extra grease. Well, I guess the food is okay, just don't allow it to degenerate into leftovers, because degenerate it will. There ought to be a warning sign "WARNING: You might as well pack pellets of this food into your carotid artery and call it a stroke." Meanwhile, the clowns made me wait in the shop as they studiously ignored me until 20 minutes had passed. Then they asked me my name. Then they returned 5 minutes later and asked my name again. Oh, I don't know, I've only been there 20 times. No reason to remember me for 5 minutes! At one point, I'm looking into the kitchen and they're tripping over each others clown shoes and I think they are also looking at my LATE pie. Late as in overdue. Late as in black crust, smokey. I'm pretty sure it's mine because extra effort was put into pretending I was not there for another 20 minutes. I also loudly mentioned to another customer, who was talking about the wait, that I had been there for 40 minutes and the girl on the phone managed in mid order to throw me a dirty look. How dare I be dissatisfied! Finally the head clown comes out and hands me a pizza. I don't remember him saying he was sorry, but by then it was of little consequence. He says to wait for a discount coupon. "Keep it! I'm never coming back here again!" I mean it this time. I was giving them another chance since they did almost the exact same thing to me last year! epilogue: The chicken parts are dry, chewy. I moved to Albany 5 years ago and have been searching and searching for a 5-star worthy pizza place. This is it. Everyone has that perfect pizza in their mind, my perfect pizza has always been based off of Wegmans pizza (being from central New York). Spinner's pizza is the closest thing I've ever found to Wegmans. The crust is a little thicker than what you normally find around here, which was great. Everything from the sauce to the cheese to the pepperonis, were delicious and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended :) read more

How refreshing to state the best customer service I have been involved with by a business. We ordered a pizza for delivery and the wrong pizza was delivered. The driver left so I called Spinners and told them what happened. Without hesitation, the girl apologized and said "we will make you another and send it right over"..no questions asked.. Spinners has always been hit or miss. Tonight was a miss. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich, but was given a tuna salad sandwich. We ordered a pizza and they seem to have missed the day when putting sauce on the dough was taught. Half of the pizza had literally 3 inches of crust and no sauce. Everything I've had here has always been delicious. The pizza is great, even the vegan pizza! I'm not a vegan, but my significant other is and we are convinced it's the best vegan pizza in the area.
