I've had horrible experiences with movers and was happy to have used Splendid Moving on this move. They were friendly and professional. They speak Russian, so there can be a little communication issues at times but there was one mover that was fluent and he was the one I spoke to most of the time. They had plenty of dolly's so this saved on moving time where I've had others just carry boxes with their arms and no dolly's. This company was great because they are the ONLY one I've found to give you a flat rate. I really appreciated this b/c then you don't feel pressured that every moment is costing you more money. They were very reasonable on the price and I appreciated that! Only writing this to help others, I did ask ahead of time for ample wardrobe boxes and they showed up with only four and I was to fold my clothes inside. I personally do not like to do this b/c of germs, so be aware if this is something you need. All in all it worked out fine and was good b/c the truck was full and more wardrobe boxed probably wouldn't have fit, but nice to know from other Yelpers what to expect. I would hire them again in a heartbeat due to the flat rate and their overall nice disposition. read more

Splendid Moving was amazing! Very reasonably priced with no hidden fees unlike a lot of other moving companies, and they know what they're doing! They were able to move all my belongings (including my fridge!) safely, helped take down our mounted flat screen TV, and they were thorough and quick. They were kind enough to even let me use their wardrobe boxes for the clothes in my closet, too. Demezhan was also very responsive when I had any questions, so I had no worries about the move at all. I don't typically write reviews but Demezhan and Splendid Moving did such a FANTASTIC job that I felt that I needed to tell the world! We have had many, many movers in our lifetime and Demezhan is the best we've ever had. We needed help moving from our old to new apartment across town. I reached out to Splendid Moving and the scheduling was swift and easy. Demezhan and Sergey arrived promptly on time with their truck in the morning. They were extremely careful, gentle, and responsible with our furniture, wrapping everything and padding them with furniture pads before moving them into their truck. They were polite and responsible, and knew exactly what to do with every piece of furniture. They had big boxes that could store all the random little items (broom, vacuum, stuff we couldn't put into boxes) so that saved a lot of time. They were very efficient with the boxes also. At our new place, they moved everything upstairs and into their proper spots. Our couch was way too big to fit through the door, but they promptly turned it around, removed the legs, and then brought them in and reassembled the couch perfectly. Our entire move took 8 hours and they only took one break. They worked hard and got everything done perfectly. Requesting a mover on Yelp can be a bit overwhelming, but Jim contacted me immediately with a competitive quote and gave me a call shortly after I asked for more information. He arrived on time and was careful with all of my items. He was able to move the larger/heavier items with ease that were very difficult to get into the apartment in the first place. The drop off went just as smooth and when all was done, the actual time was almost exactly how much he quoted me for. Splendid moving 5 stars - and why I feel that way.... On the universal trustworthiness scale, moving companies fall in line somewhere between lawyers and auto mechanics. If like me you are hoping to pick a mover based upon their yelp reviews, then you are seeing lots of reviews where the mover gave an estimate then changed the game mid-move to incur ridiculous up-charges on the job. For this reason, when my wife and I moved from our 2-bedroom condo of 34 years in Culver City, to a short-term rental in Desert Hot Springs, we sent a yelp request to movers stating that we were looking for a representative to come by and inspect our belongings, then provide us with a fixed price quotation for the move. No up's, no extras. 5 companies stepped up to the plate, two very large, 1 medium and 2 small. Each reviewed what we had, and understood that we would be boxing 90%, and they would need to box the remaining odd sized items. They saw we were on the 3rd floor with elevator and stair access, and had additional items in a basement storage area. The drop-off would be simple, as we only needed the items packed into a garage for short term storage until we found a house to buy. Of the 5 companies, Demezhan Rakhimbekov impressed us the most, as he took the time to explain how he would wrap our furniture, and protect the contents during the move. He explained that while his business's was new, he had received a good deal of experience working for a larger company, and had recently branched out on his own. I asked him to give us a fixed price, and to make sure that it was fair to both of us, and would handle any contingency that he may encounter. His price was in the middle of all estimates, and we selected him because he seemed the most honest and responsible of the group. On moving day, we did hit unexpected Issues. Joe Biden decided it was a good day to visit LA, so naturally, half the freeways were shut down, and of course it ended up being a record breaking heat wave in Desert Hot Springs. But Demezhan and his crew of 2 were stellar, helpful, and friendly. An estimated 12 hour move turned into 16, and Demezhan held to his quote.
