We came here on a date night and it did not disappoint! You're going to want to get reservations ahead of time because even on a weeknight - this place was busy! We chose to sit at a table and it was a bit noisy when we arrived but near the end of the evening it settled down (~10:00 PM). Our waitress was very kind and answered questions we had about ingredients or things on the menu. They had a great wine selection - we even found a bottle from a little known area in NorCal that we love! I ordered the snapper crudo as an appetizer and honestly - this might be my favorite appetizer of all time. The flavors were out of this world and I was hesitant to share with my husband! I sopped up every bit of it with my bread and will definitely order again. I had the spaghetti Nero and am glad I opted for the full portion because it was phenomenal! Really great flavor. While this restaurant is on the pricey side - you taste the food and it all makes sense. I would definitely put this on the list for your next night out!

I love dining at the bar at Spoon and Stable. Their bar menu makes it financially reasonable, and the food is always superb. The people-watching as theater is as good as an off-Broadway play, often better, depending on the cast. Stephanie always seems to be behind the bar, and she knows her business well. Her advice is spot on. On this occasion, Nat also made sure we were comfortable. Spoon and Stable has become an anchor for the North Loop community. It's a warm and welcoming neighbor.

Service and ambience were amazing! The pasta I ordered was delicious but a bit salty. I only went there once so I would like to try another one.

Such a lovely restaurant in the heart of north loop. The space is well lit and there's lots of chic seating. The restaurant has a rotating seasonal menu, with a few staples. We started with a cocktail and beer, they were both delicious and the drink was strong! Next they brought delicious bread and butter, and soon after we had our main courses. We had a pasta dish and fish, and both were fabulous. Absolutely loved this experience!

How on earth is this place still open. The food here is overcooked, tastes like spoiled food, & terrible service all around. Especially their desserts tastes really old. Everytime I've tried something here, I get a stomach ache for couple days, especially their old tasting desserts. 1st time stomach I thought it was just a fluke. Third try & 3 stomach aches later from the same place here & you're out of my books lol. Never again, No clue how this place has any business. I'm so glad more places have opened up in NL. Especially the Bellecour restaurant, the desserts there are 1000x better than the days tasting old crap that is served here at SnS. The interior is gorgeous, however, the entire establishment is a 0/10. I would not recommend this place to anyone. What an embarrassment this place is serving bad food to patrons. I recommend spending money at Porzana, Bar La Grassa, Bellecour... anywhere but here. This place is a joke for food. So embarrassing!

A little too proud of itself faux-lux restaurant in North Loop Minneapolis. Supposedly a James beard winner, this place has all the pretentiousness of a nice restaurant without the quality. Had the crudo which was probably the best thing we ate. Orecchiette was thick and tough. Had the steak which came way overcooked and had to be refired. Sampled the pork chop and it was tough. Overall we enjoyed it but for $500 they should do better.

Wonderful experience! First, the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. Lots of seating but not super crowded, nice dim lighting (but not too dark), and it was busy but it still didn't feel overly loud. The servers were all amazing, one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant here. Very prompt, friendly, and accommodating. I tried a variety of the food items and everything had a great depth of flavor. My favorite was probably the black truffle arancini, which is actually a bar item but you can still ask for it at a table. Definitely a more upscale place to go for a nice dinner date, but would recommend trying it out.

Was in town for work and came across this restaurant. We talked in Saturday for dinner and sat at the bar as they had an hour long wait for walk ins. We had a great time at Spoon and Stable and the bartenders were super friendly and gave us great recs! We enjoyed everything we ordered. Highly recommend this place :) Will come back when I am in Minneapolis!!

Not to be dramatic but this is one of the best places to eat in the Twin Cities and I will be dreaming of this menu for days, weeks, and probably months to come. Do not dine here if you're into mainstream dishes and lack of seasoning but DO dine here if you like flavor bombs and culinary mastery. Wish I took more photos but will highlight my favorites....starters: beef tartare, pasta: carmelle, main course as pictured: halibut, sides: spinach cheese curds (WOW) and dessert as pictured: chocolate budino. Impeccable service and attention to detail, and an equally delighting atmosphere to round out a perfect dinner.

Outstanding!!! The bar menu is a perfect, no reservations needed in this seating area. Some apps I would highly recommend are the Black Truffle Arancini and the Beef and Pork Meatballs. The Talladega Burger was an excellent choice as well. The Cocktails: If you enjoy spirit forward drinks, go with the Oaxacan (a blend of Mezcal and bourbon), and not in the menu an excellent choice is the Huntsman. Celebrations: A nice little offering of Spoon and Stable, if you're celebrating anything, and I mean anything, you'll get a free homemade cotton candy.

I came here for a nice dinner with my parents on a Sunday night. I made reservations online a couple days prior but the only available times were 8pm and after. You can make reservation for either the Chef's counter or the main dining room. I had the following: * (8/10) Oysters - Tasted very fresh, one out of the three was way bigger though. Presentation was nice with the horseradish topping and bottles of sauces like red wine vinegar. * (6/10) Venison Terrine - interesting dish but sorta hard to eat. The bread was not cut through and was really tough to pull apart. * (9/10) Capelletti - fantastic! I got the full portion and I loved the filling. The pasta is cooked al dente(?) not super soft, which isn't normally my favorite but it was a very unique taste with the brown butter * (6/10) Mini Beignets, didn't really feel like beignets more like mini donut holes. Also the dried apple slices and pretzel things were very hard. My parent both really liked the entrees, the Atlantic Cod and the Spotted Bass. My dad REALLY liked the bass, and wouldn't stop raving about it. My mom got the Toffee Butter Cake but said it was too sweet for her tastes. My dad also got a coffee, which they refilled for free. The interior was dim but really nice with the open kitchen and floor to ceiling windows cellar. Service was a bit slow to start but in general was very attentive. They were very detail oriented with switching out plates between courses, etc. Their bathroom was sooo nice. They also have paid valet parking. My family just parked on the street over. Seems like they change their dishes around and if I wanted to do another nice dinner, I would definitely go again! In total I spent around $245 for 3 people including tax and tip.

We read about this place and couldn't get reservations, but someone said to go early and get bar seating. We came on a Friday evening and only waited like less than 5 minutes for a bar seating. We scored! I started off with a whiskey sour and man, it's one of the best whisky sours I've had, the foam was amazing, and it was the right balance of sweet and sour. Love it. I wish they added a luxardo maraschino cherry tho. For food- I got the bison tartare and my friend got the hamachi crudo. Both were excellent. My bison tartare was the best I've tried. It's really good. The only thing I didn't like was the socca. They had bread service so I just used that bread instead. Their bread was delicious too. Couldn't get enough. For my entree I got the spaghetti Nero. It's a fra diavolo with octopus, mussels, and prawns. A half portion was good enough. I was so full after this dinner. Everything was excellent! They came with some compliment dessert bites at the end. Totally recommend this restaurant! I'll come back whenever I get the chance to come back to Minneapolis.

We visited on a Sunday morning and were so glad we reserved a table online a few days ahead. By noon it was packed with a long line out the door. Parking can be a little tricky since it's street parking and paid, but it wasn't too hard to find a spot if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the drinks to the brunch dishes. I highly recommend trying the croissant. It's huge, perfect for sharing, and absolutely yum! The steak was cooked beautifully and definitely a good deal for the price. I also loved sitting by the open kitchen and watching the chefs at work. It added a fun energy to the experience. The service was warm and welcoming, while still giving us space. Everyone we interacted with was professional, stylish, and friendly.

If you brought kids here, how was it? Do they have high-chairs? Did you just have them eat off your plate (thinking a 3 year old)?

Is it ok to bring kids here?

    Yes

Is anyone looking for reservations on 12/20, 12/21, 12/22, or 12/23?

Yes, 12/22 please, at 5:30 pm if possible for 2.

Dress code? Is a jacket recommend?

I disagree that jeans are inappropriate. A jacket is not required. The place is updated casual and I have seen people dining there in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt and jeans. If you can afford to eat there, then dress in a way that makes you feel…

The latte came garnished with rose petals and was not too sweet. It was a nice way to start my meal. Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis. A couple of us got there a little earlier than the others and ordered cocktails - right from the beginning the service seemed a little slow. (Also they have a shop in South Minneapolis that has its own Yelp profile, Alma Provisions.) I definitely recommend that you try the cafe! I had a great mocha here, along with a breakfast sandwich and a carrot-apple juice. High quality all around, and all of it was enjoyed in a comfortable and beautifully decorated dining room. There is quite a lot of food on the menu; I was there for breakfast but they have a lunch menu that starts at 11am which I want to come back to try. Again, my mocha was absolutely delicious and the fresh bread really elevated that breakfast sandwich. I was here on a September Saturday morning at around 8:30 and it was very busy; the wait to order was about 15 minutes but there is enough seating that I didn't have trouble there. In addition to plenty of indoor tables, there is a lot of bar seating and a good number of patio tables. On the West side of the building is a large parking lot, most of which is for nearby apartment buildings. But there is a sign that makes it clear that the spaces numbered 1-7 are for Alma customers.

Trying to hold on and bite in, everything slips out, and you don't want to risk your clothes getting dirty. The smashed potatoes seemed a bit over done this time. So much, I'm turned off from giving another try. The tables are so close together. If you're a baby who's got back, you're in for a tight squeeze, especially trying to sit in the booth.

I love the pink and green, and the place settings are gorgeous. Bonus: the team is super fast with clearing and bringing replacements so you always have a clean plate. Add in huge windows that brings in tons of light, and you have one of the most photogenic eateries in town. Dario's beverage menu is wonderful, and I especially want to draw attention to their extensive selection of non-alcoholic options. In addition to house-made sodas and creative cocktails, they have a wonderful list of dealcoholized wines--awesome news for anyone who is looking for a zero proof drink. As for the food, Dario knocks it out of the park with a menu that offers options for all tastes. The menu is designed to share, and the variety ensures that there will be something for everyone. The first two dishes that ai sampled were the Gem Lettuces, which our server described as "a Caesar salad on steroids" and the Morel Mushrooms. The Gem Lettuces were delicious--the zippy vinaigrette was better than any Caesar I have had before, the cheese was a fluffy, savory, and salty delight, and the puffed farro was a pleasing alternative to the usual croutons. Bonus: it's fish-free! I'd say that it's less a Caesar salad on steroids and more what happens when the Caesar salad next door goes off to college and has a glow-up. The morels were served on polenta and complemented with Madeira and tarragon. They came with a confit egg yolk. The presentation was strikingly beautiful, and the flavors pure and harmonious. The morels were cooked perfectly and went beautifully with the wine and tarragon--it was a great dish for spring, and everyone enjoyed the layers of texture and flavor. For our pasta choices, we had the English Pea Triangoli that Lu recommended (thanks Lu!) and the doppio. It's easy to see why Dario is known for its pasta--these dishes were amazing. The English Pea Triangoli was otherworldly: sweet peas, snap peas, onions, mint, and pea sprouts come together with butter to make a nostalgic little bite of heaven. It tastes like spring. Sicilian pistachios add crunch and another layer of sweet and salt, and the lightly steamed vegetables and fresh pea shoots and mint also added layers of texture and freshness. Positively superlative. The Doppio was also gorgeous: one side is filled with ricotta and the other sunchoke. Honey adds sweetness and the hazelnuts toastiness reminiscent of browned butter. The rosemary complemented it all. For my dessert, I had the Earl Gray tea cake. It had a very pleasing crumb and subtle sweetness, and the lemon whipped cream was the perfect accompaniment. The sprinkle of toffee cookie added a lovely caramelized crunch, and the bright acidity of the rhubarb was preserved, making for a juicy and refreshing burst of flavor in every bite. Splendid! Thanks to Dario for a wonderful evening!
